    Our society underwent many social-economic changes in the past years – changes in ownership relations, working and family environment, as well as changes in the system of social values. Currently a lot of technically-oriented universities are fighting to outflow of student's faces and with barrier disinterest of studying concern in technical field.
    W ostatnich latach nasze społeczeństwo uległo wielu przemianom społeczno-ekonomicznym. Nastąpiły zmiany w obszarze własności, pracy i środowiska rodzinnego, jak również zmiany w systemie wartości społecznych. Aktualnie wiele uniwersytetów kształcących na kierunkach technicznych zabiega o zatrzymanie odpływu studentów przez likwidowanie barier zniechęcających do rozwijania zainteresowań technicznych.

Jedną z niewątpliwych cech osób wysokowykształconych jest kultura osobista i znajomość podstawowych zasad dobrego wychowania. Wielowiekowa praktyka edukacyjna, etos uniwersytecki staje w XXI wieku przed kolejnym wyzwaniem cywilizacyjnym, przed wejściem relacji akademickich w świat wirtualny. Artykuł stanowi próbę opisania wszystkim znanej, wydawałoby się prostej czynności, jaką jest studiowanie w nowej rzeczywistości. W artykule zarysowane zostały wybrane trudności i zjawiska, które obnażyła pandemia, zmuszając wszystkich uczestników procesu dydaktycznego do przejścia w świat wirtualny.
    This article addresses a very important issue related to the abilityto adapt to the situation; in this particular case the situation of studyingin a pandemic era. The University, as an exceptional, important and unique institution,plays an extremely important social role. It is a place for creating newknowledge, but also a source of tradition. It is a space with a rich socio-culturalcontext, as well as a milieu shaping the intellectual elite. One of the undoubtedfeatures of highly educated people, are personal culture and knowledgeof the basic principles of savoir vivre. The university tradition is facing anothercivilization challenge, which is the entry of academic relations into the virtualworld. The article is an attempt to describe the well-known (seemingly)simple activity of studying but in the new reality. This paper outlines selecteddifficulties and phenomena, that were exposed by the pandemic, forcing allparticipants of the didactic process to switch to the virtual world.

    Artykuł przedstawia koncepcje studiowania studentów pedagogiki i romanistyki Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego. Przeprowadzono badania fenomenograficzne na podstawie wywiadów semi-strukturyzowanych. Pomimo pokrewności kierunków wyłoniły się różnice w ich koncepcjach. Poza spodziewanym stanowiskiem głoszącym, że studiowanie to przygotowanie do pracy, wyłoniły się podejścia zaskakujące, np. studiowanie jako poniżanie czy studiowanie jako czekanie. Autorka tekstu to absolwentka obu badanych wydziałów.
    The article presents concepts of studying of students of Pedagogy and of Romance Studies at the University of Gdańsk. Phenomenological studies based on semi-structured interviews were carried out. Despite the similarity of the faculties, differences in concepts have emerged. In addition to expected concepts such as studying as preparation for work, some surprising concepts were revealed: studying as humiliation or studying as waiting. The author of the text is a graduate of both studied faculties.

    Opis:
    Historia prawa to jedna z dyscyplin nauk prawnych. Studiowanie historii prawa (zwłaszcza polskiego) było ważne w okresie zaborów, ponieważ podkreślało tożsamość narodową. W tym czasie, w XIX wieku, wiodącym ośrodkiem naukowym był Uniwersytet Krakowski. To tam wykładano pierwsze przedmioty prawno-historyczne, dlatego też na tych uczelniach powstały pierwsze modele dydaktyczne. W XX wieku podejmowano wiele prób zmiany systemu szkolnictwa na potrzeby ówczesnej sytuacji. Szczególnie pamiętna wydaje się reforma z 1975 roku, która nie została pozytywnie przyjęta przez środowisko akademickie. Po ponad 40 latach niektóre uczelnie w Polsce nadal wzorują się na założeniach tego modelu. 
    History of law is one of the disciplines of legal science. Studying the history of law (especially the Polish one) was significant during the partitions, because it emphasized national identity. At that time, in the19th century, the leading research centre was the University of Cra- cow. It was there that the first legal and historical subjects were taught, which is why the first didactic models were developed at these universities. In the 20th century, to meet the needs of that times, many attempts were made to change the education system. Especially memorable seems to be the reform of 1975, which was not approved by the academic community. After over 40 years, some universities in Poland are still following the assumptions of that model.

    Theoretical background: The focus of this article is to study and compare the indicators that are implemented to evaluate the quality of the educational activities of universities in Poland, Germany and Ukraine. The investigation is exercised, in particular, by the proposed indicator of comparing the annual students’ costs during their studies for a bachelor’s degree with the average annual incomes of these services for consumers in related countries. Because of the differences in remuneration across the regions of each country, the authors used statistical data from these regions. Regarding average annual incomes, the authors used the average wage level in the provinces of Poland, the federal lands of Germany, and the regions of Ukraine.Purpose of the article: The research objective of the article is a substantiation of methodological and applied recommendations for interstate comparisons of foreign students’ expenses while studying at universities based on the experience of Poland, Germany and Ukraine. The object of this paper is the analysis of annual costs of a foreign student while studying at domestic and foreign universities.Research methods: During the research, the following methods were used: the dialectical method and methods of analysis and synthesis – to study the features of the comparison of educational activities of domestic and foreign universities, the characteristics to compare the costs of the training period within universities of different countries; statistical method – to analyse the average annual wage and the costs of international students during the training period at universities in Poland, Germany and Ukraine; structural and logical analysis – to develop theoretical and methodological principles to determine the indicator for "the ratio of the student’s annual expenses while studying at the university to the average wage in the region".Main findings: The ratio of the annual costs of students during the studying period and average annual wages allows different categories of stakeholders to determine the real level of expenses. For applicants, primarily Ukrainians, such an indicator will allow them to navigate, not only the absolute amount of annual expenses, but also the comparison of costs with the remuneration for possible part-time work that is allowed to students in Germany and Poland. Moreover, the part-time work allowed for students correlates to a certain extent with the level of average wages. For university authorities, the proposed indicator may allow a comparison of the competitiveness of their higher education institutions, taking into account the solvency of educational services users. For business circles and local governments (in the provinces of Poland, the federal lands of Germany and regions of Ukraine), this indicator can be useful in assessing the competitiveness of their territories to attract students. Student youth and local residents act as consumers of goods and services, contribute to the development of local business and, thus, can be a source of filling local budgets.
