Opis:: The eHealth solutions are an effect of applying new technologies (ICT) in health care. The phenomenon is commonly described as transformation of the healthcare system as its influence on management and organization of care is both wide and deep.This review concentrate on aims of practical research along with an attempt to present useful stratification. The result of the study reveals that it is usually more than one goal of most of reviewed research. This lead to conclusion that the very early stage of research on eHealth should be based on picking its aims and relationship between them.

Opis:: The preservation of historical documents is a task that requires a multidisciplinary team. Mechanical engineering can make valuable contributions. Historical documents made of paper have unique characteristics that must be considered for their preservation and exhibition. Specially designed encasements have emerged as a solution to meet these requirements. In the present research, a comparative design study was carried out. The study comprises identifying the main functions of the encasements. Subsequently, it is analyzed how the capsules that appear in the literature have solved these functions. With the information obtained, three new encasements were designed for historical documents in Mexico. From the results and design experiences, some insights and design principles were obtained; these can be universally applied.

Opis:: The authors propose a new approach for the mobile user experience design process by means of web analytics and eye-tracking. The proposed method was applied to design the LUT mobile website. In the method, to create the mobile website design, data of various users and their behaviour were gather-ed and analysed using the web analytics tool. Next, based on the findings from web analytics, the mobile prototype for the website was created and validated in eye-tracking usability testing. The analysis of participants’ behaviour during eye-tracking sessions allowed improvements of the prototype.

Opis:: In Great Britain specialist centres best adapted to people with autism spectrum disorder are rated and accredited by the National Autistic Society. The article presents Multiple Case Study research analyses and compares three building examples. The subject of the research is the analysis of objects from the list that met the inclusion criteria or have been developed as part of the British government programs to improve the quality of education. The research purpose was to analyse and compare the design criteria selected based on literature research. The criteria also influence the development of the functional and utility structure of the centres. Research has been carried out as a "pilot study" and has been conducted using the expert method from the perspective of an architect and therapist of people with autism spectrum disorder. The author has used pre-design studies, technical documentation, and photos as a source material. The analysis revealed that the functional layout in the above-mentioned facilities was designed regarding the sensory gradation of space. The high-stimulus zone and the low-stimulus zone are accessible from a transition zone that is sensory-neutral. Sensory zoning of the space is a guideline for functional design. The model of analysis of the collected data presented as part of the pilot study can be used to develop the research method. It seems advisable to extend the list of design criteria and continue collecting data in order to obtain reliable results.
W Wielkiej Brytanii specjalistyczne ośrodki najlepiej przystosowane dla osób ze spektrum autyzmu otrzymują akredytację stowarzyszenia National Autistic Society. W artykule przedstawiono badanie typu multiple case study wybranych przykładów takich ośrodków. Przedmiotem badania były trzy obiekty z listy, które spełniły kryterium włączenia, zostały rozbudowane w ramach rządowych programów podnoszenia jakości kształcenia. Celem badania była analiza i porównanie wybranych na podstawie badań literaturowych kryteriów projektowych wpływających na kształtowanie struktury funkcjonalno-użytkowej ośrodków. Badanie ma charakter pilotażowy i zostało przeprowadzone metodą ekspercką z perspektywy architekta i terapeuty osób z autyzmem. Wykorzystano materiały źródłowe; badania przedprojektowe, dokumentację techniczną i zdjęcia. Dzięki przeprowadzonej analizie wykazano, że układy funkcjonalne w wyżej wymienionych obiektach zostały zaprojektowane z uwzględnieniem gradacji sensorycznej przestrzeni. Strefa o wysokim bodźcu i strefa o niskim bodźcu są dostępne ze strefy przejściowej, która jest neutralna sensorycznie. Strefowanie sensoryczne przestrzeni jest nadrzędne w stosunku do projektowania funkcjonalnego. Model analizy zebranych danych przedstawiony w ramach badania pilotażowego może posłużyć do rozwijania metody badawczej. Celowe wydaje się rozszerzenie listy kryteriów projektowych i kontynuowanie zbierania danych w celu uzyskania miarodajnych wyników.

Opis:: A VUCA world (described with four attributes: volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity) and the resulting need to implement changes continuously in almost every area of organisational activity have enhanced the awareness of organisations with regard to searching for skilful managers/leaders of change and building up competencies in change management amongst their staff. At the same time, however, quite a large proportion of changes fail. The paper aims to identify major challenges faced when implementing significant changes in an organisation using two case studies as an example. The first case study concerns a change to the Agile approach in an organisation’s operations, while the second one – the implementation of the Design Thinking concept in the work of project teams. The obtained results have become a starting point for more in-depth studies on change management focused in particular on factors contributing to organisational change success or failure and the role of individual stakeholders in the process.

Opis:: This paper takes as its starting-point the role of reusable learning designs and of practitioner communities in disseminating effective pedagogic practice. The authors note the findings of previous research indicating a gap between teachers’ stated intention to reuse others’ materials and the practicalities of reuse, and comment on the shortcomings of both Wenger’s communities of practice and Hung and Nichani’s quasi-communities as models of the types of community that might foster the reuse of learning designs. They suggest that another model is needed to address the ‘scaffolding’ of teachers into the practice of sharing. To explore both themes, the authors then present an investigation into the reusability of learning designs. This was set in the context of a regional initiative, within the London Borough of Greenwich, to support students’ development of study skills through blended learning. Questions raised by the findings include the cost-benefits of adaptation versus creation of one’s own learning designs, and the reusability of designs created ‘in the abstract.’ The authors conclude by introducing the CAMEL model of collaboration as a potential means to overcome the discrepancy between the theory and reality of reuse through establishing relationships of trust mediated by both online and face-to-face communication.

Opis:: One of the ways that meta-design methodology, introduced into the DSS area by Moore and Chang, can be further advanced thanks to the DSS architecture approach. The seminal Sprague-Carlson DSS design paradigm (Data-Dialog-Modeling) underlies or underpins most discussions of DSS architectures. Research done by the authors for several Polish business enterprises in the 1980s indicated the need to extend the Sprague-Carlson architecture. Their proposed solution thus seeks to enhance the original meta-design DSS methodology. The paper aims to present the findings of the authors’ research efforts focusing on a solution which has been in effect for over a decade in large enterprises as well as in capital groups.

Opis:: Survivability foundation plays an important role in building resistance to the progressive destruction. This should be taken into account in the relevant calculations. Experimental studies of free-standing foundations have identified stages of structural collapse. Determine the ratio of the breaking load and the calculated bearing capacity. Reserve of vitality depends on the foundations of a large number of factors: the geometric characteristics of the structure, the design features, the strength characteristics of the materials, the eccentricity of external forces and others.

Opis:: The real value of BIM, as a method, is partially undiscovered and require deeper understanding of what real potentialities are and how to take advantage of them in the professional activities. More than ever before the collaboration between engineers, architects and technicians is promoted thanks to BIM. On top of this, the construction industry has realized that the main weakness for decades were the lack of effective communication through reliable and timely channels. Naming BIM, the entire design process should be revised, because we should finally accept that the cooperation, communications and sharing are the seminal elements of the success. This paper, starting with these premise, will present and analyze some good examples of BIM designed projects realised recently in Italy, as the Unicredit Pavilion in Milan by Architetto Michele De Lucchi and the Forti HQ in Pisa by ATIproject that marge smart building processes with environmental targets and a new vision for the urban fabric quality.
