Opis:
Controlling swimming speed, i.e. the intensity of physical activity, is an important factor in swimming training. The aim of this study was to validate the new “Swimming Pace Control System” (SPCS) for the control of swimming speed in real time using visual information. Submerged at the bottom of the pool was a system equipped with LEDs and software that informed the swimmer of the appropriate distance and swimming speed. A validation test was completed with an accuracy of ±200ms which compared the predetermined time for the beam of light emitted by the SPCS and the times achieved and recorded by the electronic starting system; “Colorado Time System” (Colorado Time, USA). The average time required to move the beam simulated by the SPCS at fixed distances (150 m, 100 m, 50 m) was within the assumed error of measurement (500 ms). SPCS was proven to be useful for control of swimming speed in real-time with the aid of visual information. The system gives an objective indication of swimming speed, thus it can be used in swimming training and during empirical research.

The paper presents a discussion on the selected nonlinearities existing in sensor and actuator subsystems of the roadheader cutting head speed control system. There have been concerned the most significant nonlinearities - rotational speed encoder and frequency rate limiter in the input of the power electronic converter. These nonlinearities significantly reduce the stability margin of the control system and therefore should be minimized. They have also an influence on allowable speed controller settings range. Reduction in the controller settings can result in a decrease in the quality of operation of the entire control system. The measurement time of the encoder-based speed sensing should be as short as possible, or continuous measurement (like tachogenerator) should be used. The frequency converter should be overmatched to ensure current overload capability – allowing an increase in the permissible rate of output voltage frequency change.

Opis:
Cascade and variable rotational speed control systems of sewage pumping stations are compared in this article. The range of pump efficiency variations and potential for breakdowns are adopted as criteria. A pumping station including two or three pumps is analysed. A control system at a variable rotational speed and maximum sewage level is presented. Properties of a cascade control system and a system at a maximum head of sewage are compared using the example of any pump performance chart.

We consider the problem of designing a feedback control law in order to reject the unknown bounded disturbance and achieve tracking of reference inputs in control systems described by a class of nonlinear time-delay differential-algebraic equations. Based on the input-output feedback linearization technique and Lya-pimov method for nonlinear state feedback synthesis, a robust globally asymptotical output tracking controller design methodology for nonlinear time-delay control systems with delays on the states and the input is developed. The underlying theoretical approaches are the differential geometry approach and the composite Lyapunov approach. For the view of practical application, the proposed control methodology has been successfully applied to the famous nonlinear automobile idle-speed control system problem.

Web winding systems allow the operations of unwinding and rewinding of various products including plastic films, sheets of paper, sheets, and fabrics. These operations are necessary for the development and the treatment of these products. Web winding systems generally consist of the same machine elements in spite of the diversity of the transported products. Due to the wide rang variation of the radius and inertia of the rollers the system dynamic change considerably during the winding/ unwinding process. Decentralized PI controller for web tension control and linear speed control are presented in this paper. The PI control method can be applied easily and is widely known, it has an important place in control applications. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed linear speed and tension controller for web winding multi motors systems.

The purpose of this paper is to present for modeling and simulation a hydraulic servo system (HSS). This work describes the design and implementation of a control system for the operation of a hydraulic mini press machine. First, the system develops mathematical models for obtaining the system responses. While, the closed loop system is based on linearized model of feedback regulator of PD controller for high-speed control. The simulation experiment is performed using MATLAB and SIMULINK. An experimental set-up is constructed, which consists of microcontroller PIC 18F458 as controller. The simulation results, showing the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Opis:
Aiming at the warp knit fabric horizontal strip problem faced by the multi-speed electronic let-off process of warp knitting machines, a design scheme of a fully digital intelligent multi-speed electronic system is proposed. A wide-range digital speed measurement method is proposed which solves the problem that the traditional analog circuit speed measurement method cannot measure the real-time warp beam speed, and also eliminates the problem of the low-speed feedback blind zone. According to the characteristics of the electronic let-off system of warp knitting machines, the hardware structure and software algorithm of the fuzzy PI control system were designed which can adjust the control parameters of the traditional PI controller in real time according to the fuzzy control table, and realise stable multi-speed electronic let-off. The effectiveness of the design method was verified by simulation.
Mając na celu rozwiązanie problemu poziomych pasków dzianiny osnowowej, z którym boryka się wielobiegowy, elektroniczny proces wypuszczania osnowowych maszyn dziewiarskich, zaproponowano schemat projektowy w pełni cyfrowego, inteligentnego, wielobiegowego systemu elektronicznego. Zaproponowano szeroko zakresową cyfrową metodę pomiaru prędkości, która rozwiązuje problem polegający na tym, że tradycyjna metoda pomiaru prędkości obwodu analogowego nie może mierzyć prędkości wiązki odkształcenia w czasie rzeczywistym, a także eliminuje problem martwej strefy sprzężenia zwrotnego przy niskiej prędkości. Zgodnie z charakterystyką elektronicznego systemu wypuszczania maszyn dziewiarskich osnowowych zaprojektowano strukturę sprzętową i algorytm programowy systemu sterowania rozmytego PI, który może dostosowywać parametry sterowania tradycyjnego regulatora PI w czasie rzeczywistym zgodnie z rozmytą tabelą sterowania i zrealizować stabilne elektroniczne wyzwalanie z wieloma prędkościami. Skuteczność metody projektowania zweryfikowano za pomocą symulacji.

Dynamic development in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) technology has brought about the common use of this equipment in industrial systems of automation and measurement. One popular PLC group creates MICRO class controllers which are cheap but offer many possibilities. In most cases, these controllers are equipped with binary inputs and outputs only. For this reason, their use in analogue control and measurement systems causes certain difficulties. The current paper describes the adaptation of PLC MICRO class controllers with a binary system of inputs and outputs for use in analogue control and measurement systems by the implementation of pseudo-analogue input and pulse-width modulation (PWM)-type output. The current paper presents a detailed design of this type of adaptation for PLC SIMATIC S-7 CPU 222. A practical system was designed, built and tested in the laboratory. The results of tests for pseudo-analogue input and PWM-type output are included in graphic form. The limitations of the proposed solution and its areas of applicability in ship automation are presented.

This article discusses the most important issues regarding the implementation of digital algorithms for control and drive technology in industrial machines, especially in open mining machines. The article presents the results of tests in which the algorithm and drive control parameter settings were not selected appropriately for voltage-fed induction motors, and where the control speed was not verified by any of the available motoring or simulation methods. We then show how the results can be improved using field-oriented control algorithms and deep parameters analysis for sensorless field-oriented performance.
