Opis:: The study discusses the issue of determining the conditions for testing the mileage of a vehicle. Lifetime tests are the crucial element of qualification tests. This type of research verifies the resistance of vehicles and elements of their on-board equipment to vibrations and shocks resulting from the interaction of uneven surface during the movement. Certain test conditions can be straightforwardly determined and verified e.g. weather conditions or a type of the road/surface. The problem appears when the tests are to be conducted in field conditions (off-road). At the set driving speed, the level and frequency structure of dynamic loads of elements of a vehicle drive system depend mainly on a surface profile and its viscoelastic conditions. Either the profile or the characteristics of ground foundations change over the time depending on various factors. The paper attempts to assess the interaction of a ground surface of selected field roads on a vehicle. The result of direct measurement of the vertical acceleration captured on a drive axle and on a vehicle’s frame above the axle was addressed. The measurement results were analyzed within the context of possible planning of vehicle test requirements with the application of the method of testing mileage under the field conditions.

Opis:: In the era of the rapid development of motorization one of the most important characteristics of transport vehicles is the safety and comfort of their drivers and passengers. In particular, people driving vehicles professionally are exposed to vibrations, which may adversely affect their bodies, causing discomfort, dysfunctions, and even lesions of disease. The vibration level triggered by the system a road – a vehicle depends on the type and profile of the road surface as well as the driving speed. Vibration levels are assessed by means of characteristics and comfort comparative indexes determined by experimental methods. Attempts at assessing the comfort while driving along paved roads may be found in many publications; however, there is a lack of information on testing vehicles moving in off-road conditions, which is substantial from the point of view of military vehicle crews’ comfort. The driving comfort of crews of wheeled vehicles is subjected to examinations at the Military Institute of Armored and Automotive Technology.

Opis:: The safety of machinery is a very important aspect for its correct functioning in the conditions of modern production or assembly. According to the standards, manufacturers of special-purpose machines and devices are obliged to provide their equipment with a certificate of conformity (CE). This article describes the concerns of insufficient safety of a device. Insufficient coverage of part of the line meant that the certification did not take place, and the safety requirements were not met. The TRIZ method was used to resolve this technical discrepancy, providing designers with "instructions" on how to proceed, solve complex problems at the level of discrepancies and create solutions. By agreement of the designers, a solution that was not economically and implementation-intensive was created. All doors and windows within the fencing have been reinforced, thus achieving a greater degree of security. The resulting solution was subjected to simulations in the Ansys Workbench program, and the FEM analysis led to certain conclusions. The results were then moved to the structural engineer to assess the solution, who then approved the solution and successful certification of part of the device, respectively, in the assembly line.

Opis:: Issues of driving stability of special-purpose vehicles result from engineering compromise between need of fulfilment of operational requirements and traction correctness of a vehicle. Especially, it concerns a motion in dynamic conditions with presence of high transverse accelerations. The paper comprises description and analysis of motion stability test results of a special-purpose two-axis vehicle with kerb mass of above 12 ton, with 4WD drive system, on a circular path drive and single line-change. One described methodology of the testing, used testing-measuring instrumentation, and distribution of the instrumentation in tested vehicle. It have been included a brief descriptions of the implemented instrumentation and method of acquisition and processing of the measurement data. One has tested a vehicle with highly located and considerably moved rearward centre of gravity. Such distribution of axle loads resulted from necessity of fulfilment of operational requirements of the vehicle. In the paper are presented test results performed for nominal and reduced with 20% tyre pressure. There were analyzed runs of lateral accelerations and axle slip angles in assumed condition of motion. One formulated general conclusions on stability characteristics for such type of vehicles.

Opis:: The work presents selected results of experimental research on special purpose vehicles used on military training grounds, and bench tests of their main structural elements. The results are connected mainly with identifying the main vibration parameters of those vehicles (regarding weight, resilience and damping), and with the assessment of the level of dynamic loads. The more output data experimental research provides, the more input data we have for designing models. Determined in laboratory tests, weight parameters (regarding weight and moments of inertia), coefficients of stiffness and damping, as well as selected resilience and damping characteristics, are applied in the process of creating the numerical models of assemblies, systems, and complete vehicles. The numerical models created are subject to full verification in order to minimize the differences between the real objects and their representations. The models are applied in multivariate simulation tests of the existing design solutions, upgrading them, or creating new designs. Due to a certain sensitivity of the range of special purpose vehicles, the results of experimental tests and simulation analyses presented in the work are mainly qualitative rather than quantitative.

Opis:: Strict emission standards mean that the internal combustion engines used in means of transport must meet the standards for the emission of harmful compounds. For this reason, there is an increase in the use of alternative sources of propulsion, including rail transport. The article presents unconventional solutions of drive systems in rail vehicles using hybrid systems and fuel cells. The concept of the realizing project of a specialpurpose rail vehicle, which is to be able to be driven from three different sources, was presented. Considerations concerning the selection of the internal combustion propulsion system, which is to be used as an auxiliary in the vehicle, are described. The possibilities of installing the power unit on the vehicle were also presented.

Opis:: Prezentowane opracowanie miało na celu wskazanie ponadstandardowych ograniczeń w funkcjonowaniu spółki celowej powołanej przez dwie publiczne instytucje: uczelnię oraz samorząd do komercjalizacji badań naukowych istotnych dla funkcjonowania regionu. Oba typy instytucji – mimo teoretycznych podobieństw – mają odmienną charakterystykę ze względu na sposób funkcjonowania, wewnętrzne regulacje prawne, źródła finansowania działalności oraz metody zarządcze. Nasuwa się zatem pytanie o skuteczność zarządzania powołaną spółką celową zarówno na poziomie strukturalnym (liczba ciał kolegialnych oraz ich wpływ na działalność spółki), w warstwie właścicielskiej (sposób komunikacji między właścicielami spółki) oraz w aspekcie zarządczym, tj. możliwość podejmowania decyzji oraz osiągania celów przez zarząd. Dodając do tego istotę tworzenia spółek celowych przez podmioty publiczne (uczelnie), należy zadać pytanie o sens powołania tego typu organizacji.
The presented study aims to indicate above-standard limitations in the functioning of a special purpose vehicle, set up by two public institutions: (1) a scientific institution and (2) local government to commercialize scientific research relevant to the functioning of the region. However, both types of institutions have different characteristic on the way of functioning, internal legal regulations, sources of financing of activities and management methods. This raises the question of the effectiveness of management of the special purpose vehicles, both at the (1) structural level (the number of collegial bodies and their impact on the company’s operations), the ownership layer (the way of communication between the owners of the special purpose vehicles) and in the management aspect, i.e. the ability to make decisions and achieve purposes by management Adding the major aim of creating special purpose vehicles by public entities (universities), the question should be asked about the sense of establishing a special purpose vehicle of this type of organization.
