Opis:
Activities aimed at impacting the social space for preschool children are increasingly common. The need to start this type of education from an early age is recognized. In the world and in Poland, many joint actions are being created to familiarize children with the issues related to urban planning, elements of spatial development and the needs of city users. One such program is the Poznań Academy of Space project, implemented since 2016 by the Academic Scientific Association of Spatial Management. The aim of the paper is to present the above project as an example of student activities to increase spatial awareness among the youngest city users. The article presents the theoretical foundations of the project, current activities and plans for the project development in the upcoming years.

Artykuł podejmuje zagadnienia związane z ochroną dziedzictwa architektury i urbanistyki oraz edukacją elementarną i wczesnoszkolną. Budowa spójnego systemu ochrony dziedzictwa architektury i urbanistyki XX wieku w Polsce wymaga podjęcia działań na wielu poziomach. Jego podstawą powinno być stałe podnoszenie świadomości społecznej w tym zakresie, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem możliwości drzemiących w edukacji. W artykule omówiono najważniejsze problemy – możliwości i zagrożenia – związane z powyższymi zagadnieniami.
The paper tackles the issue related with protection of the heritage of architecture and urban design, as well as early childhood education. Creating coherent protection system for architecture and urbanism of the twentieth century in Poland requires action at many levels. It should be based on raising public awareness in this regard, with particular emphasis put on the powers of education. The article discusses the most important issues – opportunities and risks – related to the above topics.

Orientation in physical space is a skill that allows functioning well in everyday life. The task of the school is to support this skill. The article presents the results of an analysis of 3 packages of school textbooks intended for I–III classes of primary school. It was agreed that textbook instructions concerning building spatial awareness are of a narrow instrumental nature and are focused solely on achieving efficiency in school understanding. The focus is on static situations organized in the classroom and exercises on the plane. Children acquire only knowledge about space, and do not accumulate useful experience related to everyday functioning in it.

Spatial analyses represent a precondition to understanding phenomena and their dynamics as well as the analysis of relations. Worldwide, spatial investigation of crime rates is not a novelty and the results are being actively used in the field of planning preventive activities as well as to present the results of mapping on web portals for the purposes of informing the public. In Slovakia, the crime rates are presumably observed on the level of districts and counties and based on these data, crime rate maps have been created since 2013. On the level of cities and municipalities, the punctuality of crime rate investigation is dependent upon the municipalities as such. Spatial investigation of crime rates is realized only within the range of research projects, namely in the cities of Prešov and Košice. In Košice, crime rates have been spatially investigated since 2013 and despite arguable results with the possibility of them being practically used, spatial investigation in Slovakia has not spread to other cities. One of the reasons is represented by the necessity of being acknowledged with geographical information systems and having sufficient knowledge in the field of rudiments of working with mapping outputs. One of the options in terms of how to fill in the gap is extending the security education in Slovakia and presenting the options the results of analyses might provide in relation to the practice.

The content of the presented paper consists a short reconstruction of the genesis and beginning of educational process in spatial management at the A. Mickiewicz University in Poznań. It is kind of personal reflection on this initial period, made by a person taking part in this project from the beginning until now. Both reconstruction and reflection have, of course, subjective character and have been made from the perspective of 25 years of asctivity. Particular attention is devoted to the origins of education, the struggle for recognition of spatial management, as a direction of study, the supplementation of the education profile and “values added” carried out activity.

Spatial component of number representation has been broadly investigated during the past 20 years. Numerous studies in cognitive psychology and neuroscience indicate that number representations are automatically mapped in space. The aim of this paper is to discuss potential applications of spatial numerical associations in the domain of education. Theoretically, investigating spatial numerical associations may be useful for: (a) diagnostics of Math deficits, (b) assessment in Math education and (c) developing trainings and tools aimed at improving Math performance. Keeping recent results in mind, it seems that diagnostic power of spatial numerical associations is limited; nevertheless, possibilities of developing trainings of spatial mapping of numbers may be a fruitful area of application.

Príspevok vznikol ako výstup riešenia výskumnej úlohy KEGA č. 035UKF- 4/2012 Program rozvoja priestorovej predstavivosti žiakov nižšieho sekundárneho vzdelávania. Príspevok sa zaoberá potrebou rozvoja priestorovej predstavivosti v technickom vzdelávaní žiakov nižšieho sekundárneho vzdelávania na základných školách. Autorka príspevku realizovala prieskum vo všetkých ročníkoch základnej školy so zreteľom na schopnosť žiakov orientovať sa v priestore (rovine) a schopnosť manipulovať s objektmi v predstavách. Na základe hodnotenia prieskumu autorka navrhuje riešenie na podporu rozvoja priestorovej predstavivosti v technických predmetoch
The contribution deals with the need for development in the area of spatial awareness in technical education at the lower secondary level of elementary schools. The author made the research in all grades of an elementary school orientated on the spatial awareness and the ability to imaginary manipulate with objects. Based on the assessment of our research the author designs solution for support of development of spatial awareness in technical subjects
W artykule przedstawiono potrzebę rozwoju wyobraźni przestrzennej w edukacji technicznej na poziomie szkoły gimnazjalnej. Autorka podjęła badania zorientowane na świadomość przestrzenną i zdolność do manipulowania wyobraŜanymi przedmiotami we wszystkich klasach gimnazjum. Na podstawie oceny przeprowadzonych badań autorka zaprojektowała rozwiązania zorientowane na wsparcie rozwoju wyobraźni przestrzennej w kształceniu technicznym

Educators and researchers in the field of spatial ability have at their disposal various psychometric tests as measures of the levels of these skills. Basically the tests are constructed with the use of 2D and 3D geometrical figures, which undergo various processes such as: rotations, translations, developments, etc. In general these are so called “multiple-choice tests’, which h have a criterion figure and a set of possible answers, among which one or more items are correct choices. At present new testing instruments are being developed (e.g. TPS [3],[6]). There is a chance to employ the new testing instrument into didactics of engineering students. The levels of spatial skills of engineering students as measured by the chosen test should become an indicator for those who need additional help and extra training in solving 3D problems. This work is a trial to provide evidence on the correlations between the TPS results and the other psycho-diagnostic tests administered at the Cracow University of Technology.
Naukowcy zajmujący się pomiarami psychodiagnostycznymi w dziedzinie wyobraźni przestrzennej mają do dyspozycji wiele „narzędzi” w postaci standaryzowanych testów, które w zasadzie opierają się na geometrycznych obrazach obiektów dwu- i trój-wymiarowych. Testy są na ogół testami wyboru, w których wzorzec podlega manipulacji (obrót, przekrój, rozwinięcie, przesunięcie), a badany ma wskazać prawidłową odpowiedź, wybierając jedną lub więcej pozycji spośród zaproponowanej gamy odpowiedzi. Obecnie powstają nowe narzędzia w postaci testów (np. TPS [3], [6]), które mają szanse stać się narzędziami powszechnie stosowanymi do oceny wyobraźni przestrzennej przez dydaktyków przedmiotu Geometria wykreślna. Niniejsza praca jest próbą pokazania niektórych zależności występujących między standardowo stosowanymi testami a nowym testem TPS na przykładzie badań przeprowadzonych wśród studentów Wydziału Inżynierii Lądowej Politechniki Krakowskiej.

The article presents an analysis of the transformations in private space and spatial practices manifested by students in connection with long-term online university education during the COVID-19 pandemic. The text includes a presentation of the results of a series of four focus group interviews carried out in 2021 via Zoom platform with students drawn from a few Polish colleges. The research sample was diversified in terms of gender, field of study, type of college, and mode of study. The research suggests key dimensions shaping the experience of remote university study: the spatial dimension, technological dimension and the organisational-educational dimension. Four basic kinds of student experiences are presented as well. The analyses also include a description of spatial practices such as: changing or adapting space for remote university education, negotiating spatial boundaries and attempts to ameliorate conflicts resulting from the interaction of diverse social roles and institutional orders in the same domestic space.

Artykuł zawiera rozważania poświęcone prozie najnowszej i jej edukacyjnemu znaczeniu. Interpretacje tekstów Filipa Springera, Julii Fiedorczuk, Anny Janko czy Andrzeja Stasiuka mogą zostać uznane za przykłady działań analitycznych, pozwalających pokazywać powiązania między najnowszą literaturą a globalnymi oraz lokalnymi problemami trapiącymi ludzkie społeczności i zbiorowości. Spuścizna zwrotu przestrzennego we współczesnej humanistyce to zarazem wiele przemian, do których doszło nie tylko w ramach kulturowych dyskursów. Ważnym przekształceniom podległo postrzeganie innych obszarów badawczych, takich jak polityka, wzorce pamięci oraz ideologii, a także przemiany reguł wspólnotowego życia. Wzrost zainteresowania przestrzennym wymiarem doświadczeń jednostkowych i zbiorowych doprowadził do przeformułowania podstawowych zagadnień, takich jak język, podmiot, kultura, praktyka literacka i artystyczna, a także przedmiot badań oraz pozycja badacza w sferze nowych kompetencji.  
The article contains a consideration about contemporary prose and its educational values. Interpretations of books written by Filip Springer, Julia Fiedorczuk, Anna Janko, Andrzej Stasiuk may be treated as examples of connections between nowadays literature and global and local problems that torment our societies. The consequences of spatial turn in humanistic researches bring many changes, not only on cultural discourses. There are also important transformations of other areas of research, as politics, patterns of common memory and ideology, as well as the processes of establishing the rules of social life. The growing interest into the spatial dimension of individual and collective experience provides to the reformulation of other basic terms such as language, subject, culture, literary and artistic practice, and finally, the research and the researcher’s position in the sphere of his new rights.

Gaczek [2003, s. 11] definiuje gospodarkę przestrzenną jako „działalność organizująca przestrzennie system społeczno–gospodarczy jednostki terytorialnej”. Wskazuje również, że działalność ta ma na celu wytworzenie racjonalnego układu przestrzennego lub jego przekształcenie, tak aby umożliwiał on efektywne i właściwe funkcjonowanie przez sieć powiązań. Powiązania te zachodzą między elementami zagospodarowania oraz zapewniają możliwości trwałego rozwoju w środowisku przyrodniczym jednostki terytorialnej”. Domański [2006, s. 14-15] wskazuje natomiast bliski związek terminu gospodarka przestrzenna z regionalistyką, której szeroki zakres problemów i metod ich rozwiązywania wymaga interdyscyplinarnej współpracy w zakresie dyscyplin pokrewnych i współdziałających, tj. m.in. urbanistyki, geografii, socjologii, demografii, geodezji, statystyki.
The article presents the problems of education in the management of space-related activities in the process of the developing competence of spatial economy. As a part of the education process of the planning and urban design, the particular focus need to be put on the importance of using the methods and techniques that will allow to develop the spatial competence of the students. The article presents the innovative approach to planning subjects at the Cracow University of Economics.

Additionally it advances some arguments for using the spatial models as a supporting materials on Urban Design courses.
