    This article presents and verifies material embedded in the awareness of users of Polish spoken in the southern part of Eastern Borderlands of the country across generations. The close relation between Polish and Ukrainian languages is conducive to the emergence of numerous interferences. Inclusion of Ukrainian features into the Polish system took place in the course of many centuries of contacts with speakers of the Ukrainian language. Ukrainian subdialects have left their mark on the Polish language in the southern part of Eastern Borderlands also in formations which deviate from the literary language. In the Polish language under scrutiny – the language spoken on the Polish-Ukrainian borderland, some formations follow Ukrainiansubdialects and the entire Eastern Slavic area. A majority of adverbs have a structure compliant with the general Polish language. However, there are also different formations, typical of borderland subdialects.

    Opis:
    This paper presents results of floristic investigations on the southern part of the Gardno Lake. In 2005-2006 vegetation seasons 81 rare, endangered and interesting vascular plants were found. Among them there are 27 species protected by law (19 strictly and 8 partially) (Ustawa… 2004), e.g.: Dactylorhiza majalis, Epipactic helleborine, E. palustris, Galium odoratum, Hepatica nobilis, Lycopodium annotinum, Matteucia struthiopteris, Lilium martagon, Listera ovata, Lonicera periclymenum, Ornithogalum nutans. The Euphorbia palustris found on the investigation area is in direct danger of extinction in the Western Pomerania region.
    Badania florystyczne zadrzewień śródpolnych południowej części jeziora Gardno prowadzone były w sezonach wegetacyjnych 2005-2006. Stwierdzono 81 rzadkich, zagrożonych i interesujących taksonów roślin naczyniowych. 27 z nich jest objętych ochroną prawną (19 – ochroną całkowitą i 8 – częściową). Do gatunków tych należą między innymi: Dacty-lorhiza majalis, Epipactic helleborine, E. palustris, Galium odoratum, Hepatica nobilis, Lycopodium annotinum, Matteucia struthiopteris, Lilium martagon, Listera ovata, Lonicera periclymenum, Ornithogalum nutans. Euphorbia palustris odnotowany nad brzegiem rzeki Grabownicy (dopływ Gardna) jest gatunkiem bezpośrednio zagrożonym wymarciem (E) na Pomorzu Zachodnim.

    W artykule został omówiony problem archaiczności polszczyzny południowokresowej. Przedstawiono podstawy teoretyczne zagadnienia archaiczności odmian terytorialnych języka (teoria falowa J. Schmidta, poglądy neolingwisty włoskiego M. G. Bartoliego). Zreferowano wyniki badań autorów polskich na temat archaizmów i innowacji w kontekście centrum i peryferii językowych: T. Milewskiego, Z. Stiebera, H. Popowskiej-Taborskiej. Na tym tle przedstawiono cechy archaiczne polszczyzny południowokresowej w odniesieniu do XVII–XVIII wieku. Zwrócono uwagę na problemy metodologiczne oraz interpretacyjne dotyczące funkcjonowania archaizmów w tej odmianie języka (konieczność zastosowania metod językoznawstwa konfrontatywnego oraz historyczno-porównawczego, trudność w odróżnieniu archaizmu od zapożyczenia).
    The author discusses the issue of the archaic nature of the Polish language spoken in the southern part of Eastern Borderland. She presented the theoretical basis of the archaic quality of the territorial variants of the language (J. Schmidt’s wave theory, the opinions of M. G. Bartoli, an Italian neo-linguist ). The results of the research into archaisms and innovations in the context of the centre and peripheries of the language by Polish authors T. Milewski, Z. Stieber and H. Popowska-Taborska, have also been presented. Against this background, the archaic features of the Polish language spoken in the southern part of Eastern Borderland were presented with reference to the 17th and 18th centuries. Attention has been drawn to the methodological and interpretational problems of archaisms in this variant of the language (the requirement of using historic-comparative and confrontational linguistic methods, the difficulty with distinguishing archaisms and loan-words).
