Opis:
Soil degradation occurs as a result of the ingress and accumulation of excessive amount of pollutants in the soil. The article presents the results of theoretical and experimental studies of the complex effect of soil contamination (concentration of petroleum products, toxic salts, dense residue, sodium ions, sulfate ions, magnesium ions, calcium, chloride ions, bicarbonate ions) on the content of nutrients (alkaline hydrolyzed nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, humus). A detailed analysis of scientific papers has been carried out, based on which the main scientific tasks solved in the article have been formulated. It has been established that soil-salt processes are insufficiently studied and are the object of scientific research in recent years. At the first stage of research, sampling was carried out and the content of nutrients and pollutants in the soil was determined. Determination of element concentrations was performed by collecting soil samples and their subsequent laboratory testing. At the second stage, a correlation-regression analysis of the obtained data was performed and multiple linear regressions were established. The interaction of substances in the soil was determined by analyzing the obtained multiple linear regressions. Two types of soils were studied: with chloride and with sulfate type of salinization. For soils with chloride type of salinity, dependences have been established for the content of humus, alkaline nitrogen and potassium, while in case of phosphorus multiple linear regression does not exist. For soils with sulfate type of salinization, multiple linear regression dependences of concentrations of alkaline nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium have been determined. It is established that the complex influence of the studied elements is decisive. No regression dependence was found for the humus content, which indicates that the concentration of the studied elements has almost no effect on the humus content in the soil. Comparison of the obtained multiple linear regressions with the results of laboratory studies showed a good correlation between these data series. The obtained regularities of pollutant and nutrient interactions in soils are expected in future to enable creation of scientific bases for development of new methods of desalination of soils polluted by formation waters as well as for planning effective reclamation actions.
W wyniku wnikania i gromadzenia się w glebie nadmiernych ilości zanieczyszczeń następuje degradacja gleby. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań teoretycznych i eksperymentalnych złożonego wpływu zanieczyszczenia gleby (stężenie produktów naftowych, toksycznych soli, gęstego osadu, siarczanow, jonów sodu, magnezu, wapnia, chlorków, wodorowęglanów), na zawartość składników pokarmowych (hydrolizowanego alkalicznie azotu, fosforu, potasu, humusu). W pierwszym etapie badań pobrano próbki i wyznaczono zawartość składników pokarmowych i zanieczyszczeń w glebie. Wyznaczenia stężeń pierwiastków dokonano poprzez pobranie próbek gleb i ich późniejsze badania laboratoryjne. W drugim etapie wykonano analizę korelacyjno-regresyjną uzyskanych danych i ustalono wielokrotne regresje liniowe. Oddziaływanie substancji w glebie określono poprzez analizę otrzymanych wielokrotnych regresji liniowych. Badano dwa rodzaje gleb: o zasoleniu chlorkowym i siarczanowym.

The article provides an assessment of soil fertility indicators of agricultural lands in the northern forest-steppe of the Republic of Bashkortostan within the Iglinsky region (Russian Federation). The content of humus, mobile phosphorus, exchangeable potassium, the thickness of the humus horizon, granulometric composition, morphological properties and soil washout were studied. It was revealed that the soil-forming process occurs on rocks of different ages and genesis, such as diluvial carbonate and carbonate-free clays and heavy loams, limestone eluvium, sandstone eluvium and alluvial deposits, which determine the diversity of the soil cover. In the study area, water erosion processes are developing, influenced by anthropogenic and natural factors such as planar and linear washout on slopes with a steepness of more than 2-3° and high ploughing of agricultural land. In terms of humus content, low-humus and medium-humus soils are widespread, accounting for 45.5 and 40%, respectively. The soil map was corrected and digitised to identify the main types and subtypes of soils, indicating the varieties at a scale of 1: 25,000. Digitised maps, taking into account the current state of soil fertility, are used to develop projects for inter-farm and intra-farm land management of organisations of the agro-industrial complex, state cadastral valuation of agricultural land, determination of land tax and development of measures to improve soil fertility.

Opis:
Intensive use of the chernozem soils of Northern Kazakhstan since the development of virgin lands has led to soil erosion and loss of humus. Since 1954, according to researchers, 1.2 bln tons of organic matter have been irretrievably lost. During this period, the methods of tillage have changed significantly from surface to subsurface tillage, which led to a change in the method of accumulation of organic residues in the soil. The purpose of this study was the short-term monitoring of spring wheat cultivation technologies to observe their influence on crop productivity and soil agrocenosis. A virgin plot was used as a standard of soil fertility. Determination of nutrients in the soil was carried out by using the method of "wet chemistry" with spectrophotometric termination. An infrared analyzer was used to assess the grain quality. The identification of soil microorganisms was carried out on nutrient microbiological media, such as meat-and-peptone agar, starch-and-ammonia agar, and Czapek-Dox agar. The results of three-year studies showed that the humus content in the variants with permanent wheat decreased to 3.26–3.38%. The greatest decrease in humus content was observed in the two-field grain and fallow crop rotation (2.48%). The decrease in the amount of humus occurred as a result of insufficient intake of plant residues and mineral fertilizers. The content of nitrate nitrogen and mobile phosphorus in virgin soil is low. Soil micromycetes dominate on virgin lands, whereas ammonifiers and immobilizers dominate on cultivated soils. The high level of carbon dioxide emissions on virgin land (3.0 C2 kg/ha/hour) is due to the presence of a large amount of plant biomass. The most optimal variant out the considered technological backgrounds from the point of view of increasing yields up to 15.8 c/ha and preserving soil fertility (3.26% humus content) is the cultivation of permanent wheat with the introduction of fertilizers and herbicides. The use of two-field grain and fallow crop rotation leads to irreplaceable losses of organic matter (2.48%).

The aim of the study was to assess the P-PO4 and N-NH4 pollution of water in grasslands located on peat soils and to identify the impact of groundwater level on this pollution formation. The research was conducted in 2000-2010 on grounds of ITP-PIB in Biebrza village (Poland). Within lowland fen a total of 18 monitoring points of groundwater and watercourses were established in 6 separate test stands. The subject of the research was water collected from drainage ditches/channels and groundwater, which was taken from wells installed in organic-soil layer and wells whose bottom was 15-20 cm below this layer. Water samples were collected several times a year, and in the case of groundwater, its level was also measured. It was found that: 1) due to concentration level of P-PO4 and N-NH4, about 46 and 39% of water samples from organic-soil layer and more than 40 and 37% of water samples from mineral-organic-soil layer respectively, were characterized by poor chemical status; 2) due to the exceeding of the limit values of P-PO4 and N-NH4 concentration, water samples from watercourses in over 30 and 27% respectively were not within 1st and 2nd class of surface water quality; 3) P-PO4 and N-NH4 concentrations in each water type were statistically significant and positively correlated with each other; 4) in organic-soil layer the groundwater level changing every 10 cm was a statistically significant factor differentiating the average P-PO4 concentration in roundwater associated with mineral-organic layer of peat soil and average N-NH4 concentration in each type of water.

This study presents the results of research on the effect of long-term use of phosphorus fertilizers on permanent sugar beet crops for more than 50 years and on the transformation of phosphate forms on light chestnut soil and its yield. Our work aims to establish the main factors of quantitative and qualitative changes in various phosphates in light chestnut soil. Despite the large amount of practical material, the influence duration of phosphorus fertilizer application has not been sufficiently studied on the irrigated soils of Kazakhstan. It should be noted that the current study was carried out in long-term stationary experimental sites for the production of sugar beet with permanent sowing. The introduction of phosphate fertilizers primarily on the permanent crops of sugar beets in the same norms contributes to a more significant increase in gross phosphorus reserves. The soil content of gross phosphorus for 58 years on the control and nitrogen-potassium variants show practically no changes. Furthermore, when phosphorus fertilizers are applied on the variant with the annual application of a single norm of phosphorus and its amount for 58 years (4400 kg∙ha–1 of application doses) its content increased by 2660 mg∙kg–1, and with the introduction of its one and a half norms (6600 kg of application doses) by 2860 mg∙kg–1 of soil.

Opis:
Phosphorus (P) is essential for plant growth and yield. Balanced fertilization can produce a yield-sustaining effect, but excessive P applied to agricultural soils poses a risk by losing excess of phosphorus to the aquatic environment. This is undesir- able from both an economic and environmental perspective as it wastes a finite phosphorus rock and represents a serious environ- mental hazard in the form of pollution and eutrophication of the aquatic resources. For this reason, proven methods of estimating the risk of P losses from agricultural land are needed. The aim of this study was to assess the content of soil available phosphorus (SP) and soil phosphorus sorption saturation (Psat) in arable soils and assess if they can be used to predict P in waters from drain- age outlets from adjacent arable land. The determination of phos- phorus content in the soil and determination of Psat was carried out using Mehlich 3 extractant. Psat was calculated as the molar ratio of P to the extractable Fe and Al in one solution. The aver- age phosphorus content determined in the soil by the Mehlich 3 method was 101.8 mg kg-1. Psat was on average 11.8%. The aver- age content of phosphorus in water samples from drain outlets was 0.1 mgP dm -3.

The aim of the research was to complement the knowledge on profile distribution and accumulation of phosphorus forms in the soils changed under the influence of secondary organic matter transformation process in dehydrated peatlands. The soil research was carried out in the upper Liwiec river valley in the middle-east of Poland. In the soil material taken from the moorsh (M1, M2, M3) and peat (O) horizons of the Murshic Histosols, the physical and chemical properties were determined and the soil phosphorus fractions with different activity in the environment by sequential extraction method were separated. The profile distribution of the total phosphorus content (TP) and values of carbon/phosphorus (TC/TP) ratio were characteristic for dehydrated peat soils included in the secondary transformation process (M1>M2>M3>O). This process also increased the contribution of the available phosphorus forms (NH4Cl-P), forms bound on the surface of iron (III) and manganese (IV) oxides and hydroxides (redox-P), as well as mineral (mHCl-P) and organic (oHCl-P) forms separated by 0.5 M HCl. Significant accumulation of the phosphorus compounds in the moorsh horizons of the investigated soils can be considered as a potential threat to the natural environment of the studied area due to the risk of decomposition of the phosphorus compounds when the area will be rehydrated.

The subject of the study was an analysis of the influence of two-component mineral fertilizers of Polish, Lithuanian and Russian production on the changes in the soil pH and the contents of available phosphorus and potassium as well as exchangeable magnesium after winter rape cultivation and the content of macroelements in winter rape seeds. The study also focused on the effect of using varying doses of fertilizers. A two-year field experiment was carried out on soil belonging to loamy sand, the IVa bonitation class. The experimental plant was winter rape, DK EXPLICIT hybrid. The experiment was established using random blocks design in 4 replicates. Two factors were compared in the studies: I. factor – 3 two-component mineral fertilizers of Russian, Lithuanian and Polish production (POLIDAP®). II. factor – 3 doses of fertilization (minimum, optimum, maximum, which were respectively: 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 dt per hectare). Introducing the two-component fertilizers and diversification of their doses was a factor that did not change the soil acidification. The applied two-component fertilizers (Russian, Lithuanian and Polish POLIDAP®) caused an increase in the amount of available phosphorus in the soil, with no differences depending on the fertilizer type. Diversification of the two-component fertilizers and potassium salt doses was reflected in a significant, but not proportional to the dose, increase in the amount of available phosphorus and potassium in the soil. While using fertilizers of Russian, Lithuanian and Polish production (POLIDAP®) during rape cultivation, there was no difference in the nitrogen, phosphorus, magnesium and sulfur contents in the seeds of cultivated winter rape of hybrid DK EXPLICIT cv.

Background. In view of the possibility to ensure the crop's demand for phosphorus from soils with a high content of available forms of this element, as well as to increase the amount of mobile forms of phosphorus after the effect of nitrogen fertilization, a study was undertaken on the effect of different of nitrogen doses applied into soil on the phosphorus content and accumulation in yellow lupine roots, stems, leaves, flowers, pods and seeds. Material and methods. In two-years field experiment the influence of development stages (BBCH 65 and BBCH 90) at which harvest was performed as well as nitrogen doses ($0, 30$, and $120 kg· ha^(-1)$) introduced into the soil prior to sowing were the factors under study. The experiment was set up on slightly acid soil with very high concentration of available phosphorus content for plant. Results. A 10.7% higher average content of phosphorus was obtained in the whole mass of lupine harvested during the full maturity stage than during the flowering stage. The phosphorus content in the seeds was more than four times higher than in the roots and stems, more than three times higher in the pods and more than two times higher than in the leaves. Differentiated nitrogen fertilization in the form of mineral fertilizer had no significant effect on the phosphorus content of the seeds or, on average, in the whole mass of lupine. Lupine fertilized with $120 kg·ha^(-1)$ N took up more phosphorus in total than it did without nitrogen fertilization and following the application of $30 kg·ha^(-1)$ N. The amount of phosphorus accumulated in the biomass harvested at the full maturity stage was two times higher than that in the flowering stage. Conclusion. Irrespective of the applied nitrogen fertilization and non-use of phosphorus fertilization, soil with a high content of P in forms available for plants, ensured appropriate supply of yellow lupine to phosphorus, which is important in the protection of non-renewable resources of phosphorites.
W doświadczeniu polowym określono zawartość oraz ilość zakumulowanego fosforu w korzeniach, łodygach, liściach, kwiatach, strączynach i nasionach łubinu żółtego. Badanymi czynnikami były faza rozwojowa (65 BBCH i 90 BBCH), w której nastąpił zbiór oraz ilość azotu ($0,30$ i $120 kg·ha^(-1)$ N) wprowadzona do gleby przedsiewnie.

Pollution migration is the main problem of the landfills that have been located, installed and operated without meeting basic environmental protection requirements. Undertaking effective reclamation treatments is conditioned by a good recognition of the object and its close and distant surroundings. The purpose of the work was to determine the potential hazard to the soil and water environment, based on selected factors, in the vicinity of a closed waste landfill at Głębocka Street in Warsaw. In the soil samples taken at the site from various depths, high concentrations of chlorides, EC, ammonium nitrogen and phosphates were found. Furthermore, the high ammonium nitrogen content correlated with the scent of ammonia, and the content of phosphates with the scent of organic compounds. These pollutants testify to the progressive decomposition of substances occurring in the mass of littering waste, which may pose a serious threat to groundwater. The landfill is also a potential geotechnical hazard because it is a dynamically changing object that can change stability, create caverns and landslides.

The subject of the study was an analysis of the impact of multicomponent mineral fertilizers manufactured in Poland and abroad, on changes in the content of available phosphorus and potassium as well as exchangeable magnesium in the soil. The study also looked at the effect of varying doses of multi-component fertilizers produced in Belarus, Russia and Poland. The experiments were carried out in 2015–2017 in Poland. The experimental plant was winter oilseed rape. The use of compound fertilizers of Belarusian, Russian, and Polish production did not have a significant impact on changes in soil pH during rapeseed cultivation. No differences in the effect of multicomponent fertil-izers on changes in the content of available potassium and ex-changeable magnesium were found. In the soils of both experi-ments, increasing the doses of tested multicomponent fertilizers had significant influence on the increase in the amount of avail-able potassium and did not cause any changes in the abundance of exchangeable magnesium in the soil. Generally similar effects of multicomponent fertilizers Belarusian, Russian and Polish origin on investigated soil properties were noticed.

Opis:
Przy wyborze nawozu wieloskładnikowego, poza składem chemicznym i wzajemnymi proporcjami między składnikami, należy uwzględnić czynniki agrotechniczne. Stosując nawozy wieloskładnikowe, należy zatem z całego asortymentu dostępnych produktów wybrać nawóz najlepiej dostosowany do potrzeb pokarmowych roślin i do występujących warunków glebowych. W badaniach porównywano dwa czynniki: I. czynnik - 3 nawozy mineralne wieloskładnikowe, produkcji białoruskiej (A), rosyjskiej (B) i polskiej, czyli Polifoska 9 (C). Zastosowanie zróżnicowanych dawek nawozów wieloskładnikowych spowodowało istotny wzrost zawartości w glebie: przyswajalnego fosforu i potasu.
The aim of the research was to analyze the impact on changes in the content of macronutrients in the soil after the cultivation of sugar beet, resulting from the application of mineral multicomponent fertilizers manufactured by Polish and foreign producers. The effect related to fertilizers of Belarusian, Russian and Polish production applied in different doses was also analyzed. The experiment was carried out in 2014–2017 in Lipnik. The experimental plant was sugar beet of NATURA KWS cv. Thestudies compared two factors: 1st factor – 3 multicomponent mineral fertilizers: Belarusian (A), Russian (B) and Polish, i.e. Polifoska (C); 2nd factor – 3 doses of fertilization (minimum, optimum, maximum, amounting to 2.0 4.0 and 6.0 dt per hectare, respectively). Fertilization with multicomponent fertilizers produced by Belarusian, Russian and Polish manufacturers did not change the pH of soil from experiment. In the experiment carried out, there was no diversified effect of multicomponent fertilizers of Belarusian, Russian and Polish origin regarding changes in the content of available phosphorus and available potassium in the soil, as well as exchangeable magnesium. The use of different doses of multicomponent fertilizers resulted in a significant increase in the content of available phosphorus and potassium in the soil.

Opis:
W kolejnych latach (2015, 2016 i 2017 r.) realizacji doświadczenia podczas uprawy buraka cukrowego wykonano te same zabiegi agrotechniczne. Nawożenie nawozami dwuskładnikowymi produkcji rosyjskiej i litewskiej nie spowodowało zmiany odczynu gleby. Zastosowanie POLIDAPU® spowodowało istotny spadek pH gleby.
The diversity in the quality of the two-component fertilizers manufactured by various Polish and foreign producers and present on the market, justifies research into their impact on plants and quality changes in the soil. The aim of the research was of analyze the impact of mineral two-component fertilizers produced by: Russian, Lithuanian and Polish manufacturers on changes in the content of macroelements, in soil after sugar beet cultivation. The effect of doses of the fertilizers used was also analyzed. The experiment was carried out in the years 2014–2017 in the Lipnik. The experimental plant was sugar beet variety Natura KWS. Two factors were compared in the studies: I factor – 3 two-component mineral fertilizers, Russian, Lithuanian and Polish POLIDAP®. II factor – 3 doses of two-component fertilization (minimal, optimal, maximum), which were 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 dt per hectare respectively). Potassium fertilization was applied at rates of 1.25, 2.50 and 3.75 dt per hectare as potassium chloride. Fertilization with two-component fertilizers produced in Russia and Lithuania did not change the pH of the soil. The use of POLIDAP® caused a substantial soil acidification. After applying the Russian fertilizer, the soil’s phosphorus fertility remained at the medium level. The introduction of Lithuanian and Polish fertilizers into the soil changed the values of the content of phosphorus available in soil from low to high. Increasing the dose of fertilizers by 50% caused an increase in the content of phosphorus available in the soil, but it was not proportional to fertilizer rate. There were no discernible differences of the two-component fertilizers produced in Russia, Lithuania or Poland in terms of the content of removable magnesium in the soil.

Opis:
The Canadian goldenrod Solidago canadensis (L) is an invasive species in Poland. It occurs both in habitats only weakly impacted by anthropogenic factors as well as in habitats subjected to intensive transformations by humans. The aim of this study was to characterise the habitats of S. canadensis in Mińsk Mazowiecki and in out-of-town areas. It has been shown, based on an analysis of the principal soil properties, that the sites where S. canadensis was found had clayey-sandy soil and a C/N ratio indicative of medium and high soil degradation. Canadian goldenrod was found at sites with a diverse content of phosphorus, calcium and magnesium in soil, as well as a diverse soil pH, indicative of a strongly acidic, acidic and alkaline character of the soil.
