The major goal of this article was to evaluate the efficiency of Linux operating system using statistical self-similarity and multifractal analysis. In order to collect the necessary data, thetools available in Linux such as vmstat, top and iostat were used. The measurement data collected witht hose tools had to be converted into a format acceptable by applications which analyze statistical selfsimilarity and multifractal spectra. Measurements collected while using the MySQL database systemin a host operating system were therefore analyzed with the use of statistical self-similarity and allowedto determine the occurrence of long-range dependencies. Those dependencies were analyzed with theuse of adequately graduated diagrams. Multifractal analysis was conducted with the help of FracLab application. Two methods were applied to determine the multifractal spectra. The obtained spectra were analyzed in order to establish the multifractal dependencies.

Opis:
Cybernetic states of law try to plan each activity – especially migration issues. The planning process has the following question originating in socio-cybernetics in its core: Where can it be assumed that the population characteristics are higher/lower than rational? The planning levels can be different: from the continent or country levels via statistic regions or micro-regions to settlements (even at the street and house levels). Parallel to the aggregation like population density (or annual growth rate), models can also be developed for arbitrary layers of demographical statistics, like the required ratio of males and females in different age-groups and/or education categories, etc. The models can analyze time-periods (e.g., years, time intervals) to ensure that dynamic processes will not actually be covered through static evaluation. The necessary data asset (a kind of Big Data) is given by OECD/ EUROSTAT, for example The questions and data assets are well-known. The modeling methodology consists of potential know-how: through estimations of staircase functions in the framework of online similarity analyses, regional norm values can be derived for targeted population characteristics. Therefore, the European strategy concerning the integration of massive volumes of migrants can be supported in an objective way. Analogue analyses with the same methodology have already been derived for parts of Germany and Hungary. Similarity analysis is an artificial intelligence-based approach with its own consistence-oriented quality assurance layers. The data-driven policy creation needs methodologies where objectivity is provided through optimization in the modeling based on arbitrary phenomena. The modeling philosophy should try to ensure a kind of regional multi-layered equilibrium (sustainability, cf. Kazohinia). The outlined methodology can be seen as a sort of automated SWOT analysis where each conclusion will be derived from the raw statistics in a direct way – without the risk of human subjectivity intervening in the process. The modeling spectrum consists of three levels: (1) Explorative modeling is able to derive basic characteristics for ceteris paribus perspectives through the complex functions. The standard analytical potential works with ceteris paribus parameters, based on the appropriate literature sources. (2) Antidiscriminative modeling is capable of deriving ranks for objects without an actual learning pattern, for the so-called production functions. (3) A cybernetic state of law should be able to have robot-planning values supporting human decision processes. Therefore, 'freedom of press' is basically the capability to explore and publish objective force fields and not to catalyze the spread of subjective evaluations.

Energy and climate issues are an essential part of the sustainable development process of the EU countries. They are also one of the primary objectives of international policy, as evidenced by their inclusion in Agenda 2030, adopted by the UN in 2015 among the Sustainable Development Goals. The implementation of these goals is also taking place in the EU countries. Although climate protection and energy transition activities have been undertaken in the EU for years, individual countries significantly vary in this regard. The aim of the research, the results of which are presented in this paper, was to analyze similarities between the EU countries in terms of sustainable energy and climate development. The analysis was conducted for all EU countries, based on 14 indicators characterizing energy and climate sustainability, in energy, climate, social and economic dimensions. Kohonen’s artificial neural networks were used for analysis. The research was conducted for data from the period between 2009-2018. The results showed that in the studied period (10 years), significant differences were found between the EU countries. A high level of energy and climate development was reported for Sweden, Denmark, Austria and France, among other states, and a low level for e.g., the Czech Republic, Poland and Bulgaria.

Opis:
A similarity analysis of non-Newtonian fluid flow past an accelerated vertical infinite plate in the presence of free convection current is carried out. A group theoretic generalized dimensional analysis is employed to achieve the governing non-linear ordinary differential equations in the most general form. Numerical solutions of these equations are given with the plot of their velocity profiles with the effects of Pr-Prandtl number and Gr-Grashof number.

Artykuł przedstawia wyniki analizy porównawczej struktur wybranych gospodarek UE w kontekście synchronizacji wahań koniunkturalnych. Obejmuje ona: tworzenie PKB (wartość dodana wg PKD 2007) i rozdysponowanie PKB (struktura wydatków konsumpcyjnych wg COICOP, struktura inwestycji wg CPA). Jako miarę podobieństwa przyjęto zmodyfikowany wskaźnik zaproponowany przez Statteva i Ralevą (Stattev, Raleva, 2006). Stopień podobieństwa struktur gospodarczych jest bardzo zróżnicowany – wysoki w największych gospodarkach UE (Francji, Niemczech, Włoszech), niski w małych gospodarkach peryferyjnych (Litwie, Grecji). Nie zauważono korelacji między zmianami podobieństwa struktur gospodarczych a synchronizacją (postępem w synchroniczności) wahań cyklicznych (brak korelacji dynamicznej). Stwierdzono jednak, że w krajach, w których cykl koniunkturalny jest zsynchronizowany z cyklem koniunktury gospodarczej w strefie euro, te struktury są do siebie podobne (istnieje korelacja statyczna). Ten problem wymaga dalszych badań.
The paper presents the results of comparative analysis of structures of selected EU economies in the context of the synchronisation of their business cycles. We analyse the structures of gross value added (NACE rev. 2), private consumption (COICOP) and investments (CPA). The modified divergence index by Stattev & Raleva (2006) is used to measure structural similarity of the economies. The results show that it varies from being high for the biggest EU economies (France, Germany, Italy) to very low for small, peripheral economies of Lithuania and Greece. We didn’t find any correlation between structural convergence/divergence and synchronisation (progress in synchronicity) of business cycles (no dynamic correlation). We found however that the economies of high cyclical synchronicity with the Euro area (EA17) have production and expenditure structures similar to that of the EA17. This poses a problem for further research.

Celem badań była analiza ruchu w sieci komputerowej z wykorzystaniem wybranych modeli multifraktalnych. W części teoretycznej omówiono podstawowe zagadnienia związane z oprogramowaniem zbierającym dane w sieci komputerowej, klasyfikacją przebiegów czasowych przy użyciu wykładnika Hurst’a. Opisano metody wykorzystane do wyznaczenia widm multifraktalnych. W części badawczej dokonano analizy przepływu ruchu w sieci komputerowej na podstawie liczby pakietów oraz prędkości przesyłania danych. Wykonano analizę wykładnika Hurst’a wyznaczanego dla poszczególnych przebiegów czasowych. Dokonano analizy widm multifraktalnych utworzonych dla badanych rodzajów ruchu sieciowego.
The aim of this work was computer network traffic analysis. Theoretical part describes issues referring to network traffic capture software, time-series classification using Hurst exponent and multifractal spectrum creating methods. In research part was made an analysis of network traffic based on a number of packets and data transfer speed. It was also made a Hurst exponent analysis and a multifractal spectrum analysis for each type of analyzed network traffic. After the research it was possible to draw conclusions about characteristic of analyzed network traffic.

The publication presents the application of similarity analysis of distance courses. This method has been applied to define similarity of cement concrete intended for airfield pavements. The scope of works included standard concretes intended for airfield pavements and concretes after frost resistance test. The test has been conducted in diversified media used in the course of winter maintenance. The nature of resistance of pavement quality concrete was discussed with respect to frost resistance thereof. Research procedure was presented and the obtained laboratory tests results were discussed. Concrete samples were subject to observations using scanning electron microscope in order to define changes occurring in the internal microstructure. Chemical microanalysis of concrete composition before, in the course of and after the frost resistance test and the occurring changes were specified. The obtained laboratory tests results were intended for the purposes of the similarity analysis. Results obtained in case of standard pavement quality concrete were considered as comparative values. Characteristics of the remaining concretes were referred to these values and then similarity of distance courses were analysed. It was proved that BWMt concrete was the most similar concrete to the comparative concrete.

Subject to observations of internal structure of concretes and conducted chemical microanalyses using scanning electron microscope, the contents of diversified elements in four zones were specified. Similarity indexes between input and target sequence were defined. Diagrams presenting the similarity of the analysed concretes were prepared. It was proved that the suggested method could be used to assess the elements content and define the similarity of concrete intended for airfield pavements. The scope of works consisted of two stages. During the first one, two series of cement concrete were prepared. The analysis included cement concretes intended for airfield pavements, in compliance with requirements. The influence of variable environmental conditions with respect to standard ones on the selected features of hardened concretes was assessed.

The work concerns the use of similarity analysis of distance course. Composition of concrete mixes was designed. The cement concrete composition includes cement, coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, water and admixtures. The laboratory analyses included concretes curing in standard conditions and concretes subject to thermal cycles representing the destructive influence of imposed loading. Laboratory tests assumed the fifty thermal test cycles. A single test cycle included process of alternate heating and cooling. Recurrent influence of temperature stimulated the impact of aircraft on airfield pavements. The assumed heating and cooling time corresponded to the time during which the aircraft effected the most frequently used airfield pavement within the area of Poland. Comparative SEM observations of concretes subject to thermal cycles were conducted. An increase in the width of microcracs has been observed. In case of crystallization, there is diversification within the area of cement matrix, contact area between cement matrix and aggregate grains and in case of porosity characteristics of both concretes. Similarity indexes between input and target sequence were defined. Diagrams presenting the similarity of the analysed concretes were prepared (after 28 days of curing and after thermal cycles). It was proved that the suggested method could be used to define the similarity of concrete intended for airfield pavements.

Hard coal mines and mining enterprises involved in hard coal exploitation in the area of the Upper Silesian Coal Basin (Górnośląskie Zagłębie Węglowe) are characterised by the presence of natural hazards typical of this type of exploitation. These hazards include the risks related to methane, coal dust explosion, endogenous fires, as well as rock burst and caving of roof rocks. The article presents the results of a taxonomic analysis aimed at determining the similarity of hard coal mines and mining enterprises in Poland in terms of the dangerous incidents caused by the risks related to methane, coal dust explosion, endogenous fires, as well as rock burst and caving of roof rocks. The analysis was carried out for the 2008-2018 data and encompassed a total of 26 hard coal mines and mining enterprises located in the Upper Silesian Coal Basin. The analysis was performed using the k-means method of non-hierarchical clustering. The main objective of the article was to determine homogenous groups (clusters) of mines exhibiting the greatest similarity in terms of dangerous incidents caused by the activation of natural hazards in the years 2008-2018. These data can be successfully used for the development of preventive measures and risk analyses for these enterprises.

The article concerns the use of similarity analysis of distance course in the internal area of cement concrete intended for airfield pavements. Research procedure was presented and the obtained laboratory tests results were discussed. Based on the results obtained diagrams similarity of the analysed of areas in the concretes were prepared. The purpose of this article has been the assessment of an opportunity to apply the analysis of similarity of distance courses with respect to cement concrete intended for airfield pavements. The scope of article consisted of two stages. The analysis included cement concretes intended for airfield pavements, in compliance with requirements. The thermal analysis method was used; the selected concrete components were determined by means of quantitative method. The occurrence of crystalline stages was determined using X-ray diffraction method. Internal structure of concrete composite was assessed with the scanning electron microscope.

The article presents material solution based on the application of ceramic dust as concrete mix component intended for airfield pavements. The applied dust influences the changes in internal structure of concrete composite. Diversification of internal microstructure of cement concrete using the suggested dust has significant influence on the improvement of compressive strength. The laboratory analyses included concretes curing in standard conditions and concretes subject to thermal cycles representing the destructive influence of imposed loading. Comparative SEM observations of concretes subject to 50 thermal cycles proved significant influence of dust on internal structure of composite. In the study 6 samples were selected, which, each time, were intended for the laboratory tests. The applied similarity analysis of distance courses in case of this concrete. Similarity indexes between input and target sequence were defined. Diagrams presenting the similarity of the analysed concretes were prepared (after 28 days of curing and after 50 thermal cycles). It was proved that the suggested method can be used to assess the elements content and define the similarity of concrete intended for airfield pavements in the selected of areas (cement matrix, contact area between fine aggregate and cement matrix, contact area between coarse aggregate and cement matrix and contact area between air voids and cement matrix).

The work concerns test results of cement concrete and the use of similarity analysis of distance course. Research procedure was presented and the obtained laboratory tests results were discussed. The test has been conducted in diversified media generally used in the course of winter maintenance. Subject to observations of internal structure of concretes and conducted chemical microanalyses using scanning electron microscope, the contents of diversified elements in four zones were specified. The following zones were subject to analysis: cement matrix, contact area between air pores and cement matrix, contact area between fine aggregate and cement matrix and contact area between coarse aggregate and cement matrix. Based on the results obtained diagrams similarity of the analysed concretes were prepared.

Opis:
In new version of natural−forest regionalization that was completed in 2010, Poland was divided into 8 natural−forest lands, which, in turn, consisted of 11−35 mezoregions. The objective of the study was to evaluate the delimitation of the defined mezoregions. The correctness of the delimitation was assessed by the means of similarity analysis. The similarity of adjacent mezoregions (within borders of each of the natural−forest lands) was calculated based on three main criteria (geological formations, natural landscapes and vegetation landscapes), which were used for definition of the mezoregions borders. Data on spatial distribution of the above criteria were acquired in digital form and then processed using Geographic Information Systems technology in order to identify and describe each of the mezoregions. The assessment of the similarity was based on the calculation of the partial similarity indices for each of the criteria, and then on the calculation of the overall similarity index for each pair of adjacent mezoregions. Received values of the overall similarity index range from 0.01 to 0.48. The smallest range of the index is in the Sudecka land (0.09−0.28) and the highest is in the Baltic land (0.01−0.41) and in the Carpathian land (0.07−0.48). In order to facilitate analysis of the results, five−level scale of similarity was adopted. All around Poland there are no mezoregions whose degree of similarity to adjacent mezoregions is large or very large. The medium similarity (index value 0.41−0.70) was observed in 1.7% of the analyzed cases, small similarity (index value 0.21−0.40) was observed in 37.7% of the analyzed cases and the lack of similarity (index value 0.00−0.20) in 60.6% of cases. Delimitation of mezoregions was therefore prepared correctly.

Despite the ongoing changes in the energy and economic structure of the European Union countries, mineral and energy resources such as hard coal, brown coal, natural gas, copper ores, zinc ores and many other minerals continue to be extracted. Each year, the mining and extraction sector emits thousands of tons of harmful substances into the atmosphere, in the form of greenhouse and other air-polluting gases, as well as harmful dusts. These substances include, amongst others, carbon dioxide, methane, carbon monoxide, as well as PM2.5 and PM10. The European Union climate policy clearly recommends that the exploitation of mineral resources be carried out in full respect of the principles of their rational, economical and environmentally neutral acquisition, which is confirmed by the promoted strategy of sustainable development economy. Therefore, this means the necessity to undertake actions aimed at limiting the emission of greenhouse gases and air pollutants into the atmosphere. To assess the actions taken by the European Union countries to date with respect to limiting those emissions, a comparative analysis was carried out for the particular countries. This analysis encompassed the emission of harmful substances from the mining and quarrying sector by the European Union countries in the years 2008 and 2017. The purpose of the analysis was to show the diversity of those countries in terms of the emission of harmful gases and dusts, as well as to divide them into similar groups. Such a division paves the way for developing a common climate policy and exchanging experiences between the countries from the particular groups. The European Union countries were divided into similar groups using the k-means grouping method. Comparison was also made for the emissions of the substances under analysis for the particular countries over the research years. The results obtained unequivocally demonstrate that this emission has been limited in the European Union, but there are countries where the emission of certain substances has increased.
