The analysis of flagship firms in distribution network is a new area of research into logistic tasks. The examined factors determining decisions about establishing network collaboration indicate a change in the metallurgic industry representatives' attitudes towards network collaboration. In the article directions of increasing the effectiveness of flag enterprises were shown the distribution network.

Rozwój relacji w sieci jest czynnikiem wzrostu dla przedsiębiorstw cechujących się modelem integratora. W związku z tym jedną z barier wzrostu integratora jest hamowanie rozwoju relacji sieciowych. W artykule przebadano czynniki, które stymulują i hamują rozwój relacji sieciowych w sieci dystrybucji wyrobów hutniczych. Czynniki te zgrupowano w elementach tworzących klimat kooperacji w sieci.
The metallurgic products distribution sector evolves towards reducing the number of companies. Cooperating enterprises in the distribution network are shaping different strategies. The decision about cooperation conditioned is a sequence of endogenous and exogenous factors. The climate of cooperation was built from factors stimulating and limiting relations in the distribution network.

W artykule podjęto rozważania nad koordynacją sieci dystrybucji w kontekście zwiększenia odporności na zakłócenia w przepływach wyrobów gotowych. Wskazano, jakie wyzwania stoją przed przedsiębiorstwami flagowymi koordynującymi przepływy materiałowe w sieci dystrybucji. W sieci dystrybucji wyrobów hutniczych rozważono dwa modele przepływu – z centrum serwisowym oraz z centrum logistycznym. W dwóch studiach przypadku zastosowano taką samą procedurę: badania dzienniczkowe realizowane przez 3 miesiące w celu identyfikacji zakłóceń, analizę przyczynowo-skutkową oraz analizę FMEA.
In the article considering above the coordination of the distribution network in the context increasing the resilience in flows of finished products was taken. For that purpose an influence of megatrends on the structure of the supply chain was considered. New challenges for flag enterprises that coordinating material flows in the distribution network were identified. In the distribution network of steel products two models of the flow were considered − with the service centre and with the logistic centre. At two case studies a same procedure was applied: diary panel (identification purpose of disruptions), analysis causally − consecutive and analysis FMEA.

Introduction/background: The article presents a literature analysis related to the concept of distribution network configuration. The main determinants of network configuration and their impact on key solutions used in networks are also indicated. As a key solution related to the correct management of demand, including forecasting, the author considered centralisation in networks. The article also presents the results of research carried out on 5 distribution networks, in which the correlations between the elements of their configuration and the results of forecasts made using the tool previously created by the author are examined. Aim of the paper: The purpose of the article is to present the concept of distribution network configuration in the conditions of centralised demand forecasts, with the central unit at the level of logistics operator. In addition, the article will consider the hypothesis regarding whether the configuration of the distribution network affects the accuracy of forecasts. Materials and methods: The purpose of the article and verification of the hypothesis was carried out with the help of literature studies, results of the conducted case study, and on the basis of the results of forecasts obtained using the prognostic tool created by the author in the R environment. Results and conclusions: The article demonstrates the basic ability of a logistics operator, working in MDP in the distribution network, to make forecasts and analyse the distribution network. In addition to that, the article presents results indicating that a properly selected configuration of the distribution network has a positive effect on the accuracy of forecasts contained in it.

Purpose: The main goal of article focuses on identification the main research directions for transferring the function of centralised demand forecasting to 3PL enterprise. To meet this goal the concepts connected with central demand forecasting in distribution network was considered and it was taking into account the meaning of demand management and forecasting in logistics. There were also distinguished the main stages which could include the attributes of central forecasting enterprise. Design/methodology/approach: Paper includes literature analysis connected with centralised forecasting and specification of determinants which could be the main reference point in finding the enterprise able to get the function of centralised forecasting. Findings: According to literature review determinants of distribution network configuration in the centralised forecasting is showed and also there is showed a possibility of transfer the function of centralised forecasting to logistic operator. Originality/value Paper shows determinants of distribution network configuration in the conditions of centralised forecasting and takes into account possibility of transfer this function to logistic operator.

Tematyka artykułu mieści się w zakresie logistyki dystrybucji i dotyczy planowania przewozów. Dla danej sieci dystrybucji można wyznaczyć zbiór opłacalnych tras dostaw. Problem decyzyjny sprowadza się do takiego wyboru tras z tego zbioru, żeby zminimalizować koszty transportu, załadunku i rozładunku. Do znalezienia optymalnego rozwiązania problemu zaproponowano programowanie matematyczne. W pracy przedstawiono liniowy model matematyczny zagadnienia. Model zawiera zarówno zmienne rzeczywiste, jak i zmienne binarne.
The subject of article is within the scope of the distribution logistics and relates to transportation planning. For the given distribution network it is possible to appoint the set of cost-effective delivery routes. The decision problem comes down to such a choice of routes from this set to minimize transport, loading and unloading costs. The mathematical programming is proposed for finding an optimal solution of the problem. In the paper a linear mathematical model of the problem is presented. The model includes both real variables and binary variables.

Purpose: This article addresses the issue of forecasting demand for products flowing in a distribution network conducted from the perspective of a 3PL logistics operator. Its purpose is to present a tool based on the R software, which is to be used for automatic forecasting of time series. Design/methodology/approach: The work uses the algorithm of automatic forecasting of time series implemented in the "forecast" package. The algorithm was used in a loop for different lengths of the time series to determine the best length of the series. The minimal RMSE value in the training set and in the test set were considered as optimality criteria. Findings: It is shown that the best time series length is 60 weeks in the considered case. Originality/value: The procedure for selecting the best time window length for forecasting demand for products in distribution network.

Poziom sprzedaży danego dobra uzależniony jest w dużej mierze od sieci dystrybucji. Przestrzenna analiza dystrybucji umożliwia racjonalizację sieci sprzedaży, co podnosi efektywność i wydajność sprzedaży przedsiębiorstwa z bezpośrednim przełożeniem na wzrost zysków. Z pomocą przychodzą tu tak zwane analizy przestrzenne. W artykule przedstawiono analizę sieci autoryzowanych sprzedawców Polskiej Grupy Górniczej dla województwa opolskiego. Analiza została wykonana z wykorzystaniem narzędzi GIS (SIP). Celem przeprowadzonej analizy było zaprezentowanie możliwych do zastosowania narzędzi weryfikacji już istniejącej sieci dystrybucji, jej racjonalizacji, bądź też tworzenia nowych punktów sprzedaży. Przedstawione narzędzia należą do operacji GIS stosowanych do przetwarzania danych przechowywanych w zasobach Systemów Informacji Przestrzennej. Są to tak zwane narzędzia geoprocessingu, czyli geoprzetwarzania. W artykule zaprezentowano kilka analiz przestrzennych, których rezultatem jest wybór najlepszej lokalizacji punktu dystrybucji pod względem określonych kryteriów. Stosowane narzędzia to między innymi zapytanie przestrzenne intersect (iloczyn), suma. Posłużono się także geokodowaniem, utworzono tak zwany kartodiagram. Przedstawiona przykładowa analiza może zostać wykonana dla sieci autoryzowanych sprzedawców zarówno w skali jednego województwa, miasta, jak też obszaru całego kraju. Użyte narzędzia dają możliwość sprecyzowania grupy docelowych odbiorców, obszarów na jakich się oni znajdują, obszarów koncentracji potencjalnych odbiorców. Pozwalają tym samym na ulokowanie punktów sprzedaży na obszarach charakteryzujących się wysokim prawdopodobieństwem znalezienia nowych klientów, umożliwiają wybór lokalizacji, np. zapewniającej dostęp do dróg, transportu kolejowego, lokalizacji o odpowiedniej powierzchni, sąsiedztwie.
The level of sales of a given good depends largely on the distribution network. An analysis of the distribution network allows companies to optimize business activity, which improves the efficiency and profitability of a company’s sales with an immediate effect on profit growth. The so-called spatial analysis is highly useful in this regard. The paper presents an analysis of the network of authorized dealers of the Polish Mining Group for the Opolskie Province. The analysis was done using GIS (SIP) tools. The purpose of the analysis was to present tools that could be used to verify an existing distribution network, to optimize it, or to create a new sales outlet. The prresented tools belong to GIS operations used to process data stored in Spatial Information System resources. These are so-called geoprocessing tools. The article contains several spatial analyses, which results in choosing the optimum location of the distribution point in terms of the defined criteria. The used tools include a spatial intersection and sum. Geocoding and the so-called cartodiagram were also used. The presented analysis can be performed for both the network of authorized retailers within a region, a city or an entire country. The presented tools provide the opportunity to specify the target consumers, areas where they are located and areas of potential consumer concentration. This allows the points of sale in areas with a high probability of finding new customers to be located, which enables the optimal location to be chosen, for example, in terms of access to roads, rail transport, locations of the right area and neighborhood. Spatial analysis tools will also enable the coal company to verify its already existing distribution network.

Złożoność systemu dystrybucji wynika ze znacznego zróżnicowania rynku odbiorców a także realizacji zamówień zarówno w systemie ssania jak i pchania. Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja zakłóceń w przepływie wyrobów hutniczych niepoddawanych dyferencjacji w modelu z centrum logistycznym.
Steel products are a standard example of products delivered by selective distribution channels, in which horizontal and vertical network relations are being created. The complexity of the distribution system is a result of diversifying sections of customers as well as the both pull and push order. An identification of disruptions in the flow of steel products not-subjected to the differentiation in the model with the logistic centre is a purpose of the article.

Celem badań zaprezentowanych w artykule było wskazanie cech charakteryzujących flagowe przedsiębiorstwa sieci dystrybucji, a także dobór mierników pozwalających ocenić ich skuteczność. Przyjęto założenie, że kluczowym elementem oceny skuteczności flagowych dystrybutorów jest zadowolenie klientów. Uwzględniono zróżnicowane preferencje klientów. Do oceny satysfakcji klientów wykorzystano wskaźnik CSI złożony z elementów logistycznej obsługi klienta.
In the article features being characteristic of flag enterprises were shown. Next gauges allowing to assess their effectiveness were selected. An assumption that satisfying customers is a key element of the assessment of effectiveness of flag distributors was made. Diversified preferences of customers were taken into account. A CSI indicator was used for the evaluation of the satisfaction of customers. The Indicator is compound of elements of the logistic customer service.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to analyze material flow from the perspective of a logistics operator operating in a distribution network at Material Decoupling Point (MDP). This analysis will focus on classifying the flowing products into the appropriate groups in terms of their sales characteristics, release volume and the value of the coefficient of variation. This analysis will also involve product classification in terms of forecast accuracy. Design/methodology/approach: Main method used for the research focuses on analyzing one of distribution network. Analyze considered examination of material flow and tests of forecast tool to improve operational issues. Findings: Logistics operator is able to forecasting demand of products in distribution network. It is interesting area of research developing in the future. Originality/value Forecasting is considered here as a kind of development perspective for the operator who currently does not make forecasts. Forecasting implementation could be in these case

Opis:
Warehouse management is a crucial element in daily basis in all distribution centres. The article goal focuses on showing the role of distribution centre warehouse’s management in disruptions compensation and eliminate their effects in the perspective of distribution centre. Additionally, after showing activities, which allow to disruptions compensation, the idea of changing in warehousing processes will be analysing by TOWS/SWOT. It will show strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of showing improvements. In the end, the article will show the best strategy, which enterprise should choose during improvement the warehouse processes.
Istotnym elementem w funkcjonowaniu każdego centrum dystrybucji jest gospodarka magazynowa. Cel niniejszego artykułu skupia się na wskazaniu roli procesów zachodzących w gospodarce magazynowej centrum dystrybucji w kompensacji zakłóceń oraz eliminacji ich skutków z perspektywy całej sieci dystrybucji. Dodatkowo, po wskazaniu czynności, dzięki którym możliwa jest kompensacja zakłóceń, idea zmian w gospodarce magazynowej zostanie poddana analizie TOWS/SWOT, która ukaże słabe, mocne strony oraz szanse i zagrożenia wprowadzania zaproponowanych usprawnień. Zostanie również ukazana strategia, jaką powinno przyjąć przedsiębiorstwo podczas ich wdrażania.

W artykule przedstawiono projekt organizacji transportu na przykładzie hurtowni o profilu elektrycznym do odbiorców w regionie Województwa Zachodniopomorskiego. W Polsce jak i w obrębie Województwa Zachodniopomorskiego transport towarów odbywa się głównie przy wykorzystaniu samochodów. Wyróżniono kilka modeli realizowania zadań transportowych, które poddano analizie. W podsumowaniu zaproponowano zmiany w systemie transportowym realizowanym przez hurtownię ze względu na przyjęte kryteria optymalizacji drogi.
This paper presents the design organization of transport on exemplary electrical wholesalers firm for Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship. in Poland, as well as within the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship transport of goods is done mainly by the use of cars. Distinguished several models of the tasks as transport were analyzed. In summary, proposed changes in the transport system operated by the warehouse due to the adopted optimization criteria for distance of road and transport time were shown.
