    A variety of reference models such as CMMI, COBIT or ITIL support IT organizations to improve their processes. These process improvement reference models (IRMs) cover different domains such as IT development, IT Services or IT Governance but also share some similarities. As there are organizations that address multiple domains and need to coordinate their processes in their improvement we present MoSaIC, an approach to support organizations to efficiently adopt and conform to multiple IRMs. Our solution realizes a semantic integration of IRMs based on common meta-models. The resulting IRM integration model enables organizations to efficiently implement and asses multiple IRMs and to benefit from synergy effects.

    This work investigates advantages of ontologies as the means for semantic integration of management activities. Semantic technologies are recently recognized as crucial management technologies in domains, which intensively exploit ICT and automation. Ontologies facilitate intra- and inter-organizational integration of different layers, functions, domains and processes of management. Ontologies enhance changeability, mostly in reference to business resources and processes. New forms of organizational structures and processes may also emerge.
    W artykule analizuje się zalety ontologii jako narzędzia integracji semantycznej w zarządzaniu. Technologie semantyczne są ostatnio uznawane za bardo ważne technologie zarządzania tam, gdzie intensywnie wykorzystuje się informatyzację i automatyzację. Ontologie mogą wspomagać integrację wewnątrz- i międzyorganizacyjną w odniesieniu do różnych szczebli, funkcji, obszarów i procesów zarządzania. Ontologie wspomagają osiąganie podatności na zmiany, zwłaszcza w przypadku zasobów i procesów gospodarczych. Ponadto, możliwe jest kreowanie nowatorskich struktur organizacyjnych i procesowych.

    Light verb constructions (henceforth LVCs) constitute a peculiar category within the system of verbal constructions having metaphorical meanings, as their semantics is primarily determined not by the verb but rather by its nominal dependent, which generally functions as an object. However, the category of LVCs is far from being homogeneous. The goal of the present paper is twofold. Firstly, I attempt to account for the variability we find within the category of LVCs. Secondly, I analyse the semantic structure of the Hungarian verb köt ‘tie, bind’ in order to find out how LVCs involving this verb can be integrated into the system of verbal constructions with metaphorical meanings. By the study of attested, real-world examples, I also aim to highlight the fact that (contrary to a popular assumption in the specialized literature) the verbal components of LVCs cannot be considered “meaningless” elements. While their meaning is abstract to a lesser or higher degree, they are by no means semantically “empty”; moreover, their meaning is not necessarily and exclusively “grammatical”.
    Konstrukcje z czasownikami funkcyjnymi (LVC, „light verb constructions”) stanowią szczególną kategorię w ramach systemu konstrukcji czasownikowych posiadających znaczenia metaforyczne, ponieważ ich semantyka jest przede wszystkim zdeterminowana nie przez czasownik, ale przez jego argument rzeczownikowy, która na ogół funkcjonuje jako dopełnienie. Jednakże kategoria LVC jest daleka od jednorodności. Cel niniejszej pracy jest dwojaki. Po pierwsze, staram się odpowiedzieć na pytanie o zróżnicowanie, które znajdujemy w kategorii LVC. Po drugie, analizuję strukturę semantyczną węgierskiego czasownika köt ‘wiązać’, aby dowiedzieć się, jak LVC z udziałem tego czasownika mogą być włączone do systemu konstrukcji czasownikowych o znaczeniu metaforycznym. Poprzez badanie sprawdzonych, rzeczywistych przykładów staram się również podkreślić fakt, że (w przeciwieństwie do popularnego założenia w literaturze specjalistycznej) elementy czasownikowe LVC nie mogą być uważane za elementy „bez znaczenia”. Choć ich znaczenie jest w mniejszym lub większym stopniu abstrakcyjne, nie są one bynajmniej semantycznie „puste”; co więcej, ich znaczenie nie jest koniecznie i wyłącznie „gramatyczne”.

    The aim of the article is to present an approach to the integration of heterogeneous data sets from independent computer systems. The article presents the use of integration by means of the virtualization of data sets in a consistent semantic graph. The integration was carried out in accordance with the ATOM methodology, which had been worked out earlier, using the D2QR tool. The tool is presented in the paper as a representative of a class of tools for integrating multiple heterogeneous data sources into one coherent data space. The article describes the experience of using the various options of D2RQ for integration of data sources and different approaches to the issues related to semantic integration. The authors also presented their modification of the tool and suggestions for its improvement. The research and experience are directly related to the CCMODE project (Common Criteria compliant Modular Open IT security Development Environment).
    Artykuł opisuje doświadczenia związane z realizacją semantycznej integracji systemów informatycznych. Prezentuje wykorzystanie integracji w rozumieniu wirtualizacji zbiorów danych w spójny graf semantyczny. Integracja została zrealizowana zgodnie z wypracowaną wcześniej metodyką ATOM, z wykorzystaniem narzędzia D2RQ. W artykule zostało przedstawione omawiane narzędzie jako reprezentant klasy narzędzi służących do integracji wielu źródeł danych w jedną spójną przestrzeń danych. Ponadto zostały opisane doświadczenia z wykorzystania poszczególnych możliwości D2RQ pod kątem integracji źródeł danych oraz różne sposoby podejścia do zagadnień związanych z tym tematem. Autorzy przedstawili również swoje modyfikacje narzędzia oraz propozycje jego udoskonalenia. Przeprowadzone badania i zebrane doświadczenia były bezpośrednio związane z realizacją projektu CCMODE (Common Criteria compliant Modular Open IT security Development Environment).

Dobrym rozwiązaniem wydaje się być semantyczna integracja systemów informatycznych. Semantyczna integracja systemów informatycznych w głównej mierze sprowadza się do wypracowania wspólnej terminologii w nazywaniu i określaniu danych, z których korzystać mogą różne aplikacje.
    The new approach to the issues of organization management sets a lot of store to dynamic changes which occur in the organization.s environment and force the organization to withdraw from the operation schemes used so far. In order to ensure efficient co-operation of the organization.s departments it is required to apply, among others, state-of-the-art technologies which allow to integrate the heterogenic IT environment. Therefore it is useful to integrate the data in such a manner to allow the full use of knowledge contained in these data. It is also useful to unite different elements into a whole in the operation process in order to make the operation rational and optimal. Semantic integration of IT systems seems to be a good solution. Basically, semantic integration comes down to working out a common terminology for labeling and determining the data which can be used by different applications.

    This paper presents assumptions for a system of automatic cataloging and semantic text documents searching. As an example, a document repository for metals processing technology was used. The system by using ontological model provides the user with a new approach to the exploration of database resources - easier and more intuitive information search. In the current document storage systems, searching is often based only on keywords and descriptions created manually by the system administrator. The use of text mining methods, especially latent semantic indexing, allows automatic clustering of documents with respect to their content. The result of this clustering is integrated with the ontological model, making navigation through documents resources intuitive and does not require the manual creation of directories. Such an approach seems to be particularly useful in a situation where we are dealing with large repositories of unstructured documents from such sources as the Internet. This situation is very typical for cases of searching information and knowledge in the area of metallurgy, for example with regard to innovation and non-traditional suppliers of materials and equipment.
    Artykuł prezentuje założenia systemu umożliwiającego automatyczne katalogowanie i przeszukiwanie merytoryczne dokumentów tekstowych na przykładzie repozytorium dokumentów dotyczących technologii przetwórstwa metali. System dzięki zastosowaniu modelu ontologicznego ma umożliwić użytkownikowi nowe podejście do eksploracji zasobów bazodanowych - prostsze i bardziej intuicyjne wyszukiwanie informacji. W obecnych systemach przechowywania dokumentów często jedyna forma wyszukiwania jest wyszukiwanie na podstawie katalogu słów kluczowych i deskrypcji tworzonych ręcznie przez administratora systemu. Zastosowanie metod eksploracji tekstu, w szczególności ukrytego indeksowania semantycznego umożliwia automatyczne grupowanie dokumentów pod względem ich zawartości. Wynik takiego grupowania zostaje zintegrowany z modelem ontologicznym, przez co nawigacja poprzez zasoby dokumentów staje się intuicyjna i nie wymaga tworzenia ręcznie katalogów. Takie podejście wydaje się szczególnie przydatne w sytuacji, gdy mamy do czynienia z dużymi repozytoriami nieuporzadkowanych dokumentów pochodzących m.in. z sieci Internet.

    In the paper an algorithm for automatic knowledge acquisition is proposed. The knowledge is acquired from aggregate data stored in different repositories. The algorithm operates by means of semantic data integration, allowing both syntax and semantic differences between data coming from different sources. If only we know data taxonomies, can interpret data schemas and design schema mappings, then the differences are not an obstacle to integration. The acquired knowledge is being defined in a form of production rules with uncertainty. The considerations are illustrated with medical examples.

    In the paper we discuss the problem of XML data integration in a P2P environment. In this setting each peer stores schema of its local data, mappings between the schema and schemas of some other peers (peer's partners), and schema constraints. The goal of the integration is to answer the queries formulated against arbitrarily chosen peers. The answer consists of data stored in the queried peer as well as data of its direct and indirect partners. We focus on denning and using mappings, schema constraints, and query reformulation in such scenario. We discuss a strategy that allows us to obtain a complete answer with the possibility of discovering missing values. The method is the theoretical foundation of the implementation of SixP2P system (Semantic Integration of XML data in P2P environment).

    W pracy przedstawiono koncepcję elastycznego systemu sieciowych usług rekomendacyjnych. Usługi rekomendacyjne są rodzajem usług informacyjnych świadczonych również przez systemy doradztwa rolniczego. Zakłada się, że algorytm tworzący ranking rekomendowanych produktów będzie powstawał w wyniku maszynowego uczenia na zweryfikowanych danych. Aplikacja modelująca taki algorytm może być wykonana w technologii typowej dla sieciowych baz wiedzy. Problemem jest to, że aktualne systemy sieciowych usług informacyjnych są niewystarczająco odporne na zakłócenia w dostępie do danych, z których syntetyzowana jest usługa. Stąd pomysł uelastycznienia systemu poprzez semantyczną integrację zasobów sieciowych.
    The work presents the conception of the flexible system of network recommendation services. Recommendation services are a kind of information services provided also by agricultural consultancy services. It is assumed that the algorithm creating the ranking of recommended products will be formed as a result of machine learning on the basis of verified data. The application modelling such an algorithm can be created in a technology which is characteristic of network knowledge bases. The problem is that current systems of network information services are insufficiently resistant to interruptions of access to data from which the service is synthesized. Consequently, an idea of making the system more flexible through semantic integration of network resources was created.

    Neologisms indicate linguistic changes in the lexicon. Vocabulary is particularly prone to changes since language communities constantly need new words and phrases to denote new facts or circumstances or they require new expressions for concepts already established. New expressions are often borrowed from other languages. English has had a strong influence on German vocabulary in the last decades. Therefore, German has several English borrowings. These anglicisms differ in their degree of integration into the linguistic system and vary, for instance, with respect to usage, style, and diffusion in the language community. With the help of the Neologismenwörterbuch, it is possible to have an overview of neologisms of English origin in German that integrate different areas of language change.

    In the paper the method of collecting, processing and sharing information along food chain is presented. Innovative features of that method result from advantages of data engineering based on semantic technologies. The source to build ontology are standards and regulations related to food production, and data collected in databases owned by food chain participants. It allows food chain information resources can be represented in semantic languages RDF/RDFS/OWL and form semantic database where data are easily integrated according to various criteria using automatic inference algorithms. Feasibility of proposed method is achievable with Ontorion Knowledge Framework.

    Do podejmowania decyzji ważna jest wiedza rozumiana jako umiejętność użytecznego wykorzystania informacji. Dotyczy to także zagadnień z dziedziny rolnictwa w szczególności szeroko pojętej produkcji roślinnej. Obecnie wiele potrzebnych informacji można odnaleźć w Internecie, także globalna sieć wykorzystywana jest do publikacji rezultatów. Aby można było efektywnie wykorzystać informacje w systemie zarządzania wiedzą, muszą być one precyzyjnie opisane. Sieć semantyczna a w szczególności idea Linked Data stwarza taką możliwość. Realizując projekt "Narzędzia zarządzania wiedzą w produkcji roślinnej" podjęto próbę wykorzystania systemu zarządzania treścią Drupal 7 do stworzenia prototypowego portalu będącego częścią systemu wspierającego zarządzanie wiedzą w produkcji roślinnej. Omówiono funkcjonalność modułu RDF Drupala, oceniono praktyczną ich przydatność do realizacji zadania oraz możliwości rozszerzenia.
    Knowledge understood as the ability to apply the information in useful way, is significant to make proper decisions. This also applies to agricultural issues, in particular, wider plant production. Currently, a lot of information can be found on the Internet. The global network is used to publish the results. The information must be precisely described to be used effectively in the knowledge management system. The Semantic Web and in particular the idea of Linked Data offers such a possibility. During implementation of the project "Knowledge management tools in plant production" the content management system Drupal 7 has been used to create a prototype portal which is a part of the supporting knowledge management system in plant production. The functionality of Drupal RDF module is presented and its practical usefulness for the task is rated as well as the possibility of its extension is discussed.

    Opis:
    Artykuł stanowi przyczynek do badań nad integracją poprzez sugestię uzupełnienia ich o badania psychosemantyczne, których przedmiotem są mentalne reprezentacje kategorii osób niepełnosprawnych. Proponuje się tu badanie struktury kategorii odnoszących się do podgrup osób niepełnosprawnych, podlegających tzw. wielokrotnej opresji. Kategorie takie należy rozpatrywać jako złożone, stanowiące subkategorie więcej niż jednej kategorii nadrzędnej/prostej, a strukturę kategorii złożonej można ujmować w terminach stopnia podobieństwa do każdej z kategorii nadrzędnych. W artykule przedstawiono przykład badania psychosemantycznego dotyczącego kategorii kobiet niepełnosprawnych. Niepowtarzalna specyfika opresji, charakterystyczna dla tej podgrupy, wyznaczająca budowę kategorii złożonej i jej związek z kategoriami nadrzędnymi (kategorią kobiety i osoby niepełnosprawnej), wynika z postrzegania dysfunkcji jako czynnika oddalającego kobiety niepełnosprawne od prototypowej kobiecości, utrudniającego pełnienie tradycyjnych ról kobiecych. Wyniki badania testem skojarzeń i testem skal potwierdzają duże różnice między kategorią kobiet z niepełnosprawnością i ogólną kategorią kobiety, a jednocześnie znacznie silniejszą i dominującą rolę czynnika niepełnosprawności w budowie tej kategorii złożonej.
    The paper makes a contribution to the problem of integration by suggesting the possibility of including into the spectrum of research on issues related to integration psychosemantic analyses - the study of mental representations of categories related with disability. A method of analysing the structure of categories of subgroups of disabled people (which are subject to the so called “multiple oppression”) is proposed. Such type of categories should be analysed as compound categories subordinate to two or more superordinate/simple categories, and the structure of the compound category should be examined in terms of the degree of its similarity to each superordinate category. The example of psychosemantic research on the category of disabled women is presented. The unique specifics of oppression typical for this subgroup of disabled people, determining the structure of the compound category and its relations with superordinate categories (a woman and a disabled person), can be seen as the result of treating dysfunction as a factor creating a gap between disabled women and prototypical femininity by hindering the effective fulfilment of traditional female roles. The results of the presented study – test of associations and test of scales – confirm a very large difference between the narrower category of disabled woman and the more general category of woman as well as the much stronger and dominant role of the disability factor in the process of building the representation of the compound category.
