The degree of future development of agritourism will be strongly influenced by fashion trends that are dictated by the contemporary market. Changing lifestyles of the society, which manifest themselves in the pursuit of buying greener products and seeking unconventional ways of spending free time will further develop this service. Continuous improvement of service offers and introduction of more interesting forms of recreation that guarantee higher quality of services should become key goals for individuals involved in agritourism. The potential of agritourism is slowly being recognized, although in comparison to other forms of accommodation, still a rather small number of Polish tourists choose it. There is therefore a necessity to develop a marketing plan to make agritourism services more distinguishable on the local and foreign tourism markets. In order for rural areas to develop and to provide rural communities with additional sources of income, it undoubtedly seems necessary to differentiate between rural tourism and agritourism.

В статье рассмотрено кластерообразование на сельских территориях Украиныв исторической ретроспективе. На примере кластера территории села ГуляйполеЕкатеринославской губернии Украины (ныне Запорожская область) показано, что кластерсельской территории в рыночных условиях может развиваться без вмешательствагосударства, либо, если это вмешательство сведено к минимуму. Проанализированогосударственное управление развитием кластеров сельских территорий Украины в период еепребывания в составе СССР и доказано его негативное влияние на сельский социум.Выделены причины сложности развития сельских кластеров и раскрытие их потенциалав постсоветский период.
The article deals with clustering in rural areas of the Ukraine from a historical perspective. Forexample, a cluster in the village of the Ukraine's Gulyaypole Ekaterinoslav province (now the Zaporizhiaregion) have shown that a cluster of rural areas in market conditions may develop without the interventionof the state or, if this interference is minimized. Analysed is the governance of cluster development inrural areas of the Ukraine during its period in the USSR and its proven negative impact on rural society.The reasons for the complexity of the development of rural clusters and disclosure of their potential in thepost-Soviet period are shown.

The aim of this study was to present basic trends in population processes in rural areas of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. With the period of 2003-2008 the main subject focused on changes in population size, elements responsible for the character of population changes with components of natural and migratory movement. Changes in the labour market against changes in the number of people em-ployed and unemployment were also discussed. The analysis proved considerable spatial diversification of the processes in question.Positive population-related phenomena were recorded in municipalities located in a suburban zone, whereas negative phenomena occurred in the outskirts of the area and locations of economic restructuring.

The deagrarization process which manifests itself through the systematic decreasing of the role of agriculture in the productive involvement of human labour, as well as providing income for maintaining the rural population is progressing in the Polish countryside. Statistical data, regardless of the source, shows an unfavourable situation on the labour market for the population residing in rural areas. In the recent years, the number of persons registered as being unemployed increased. At the end of 2011, registered unemployment in rural areas achieved a level of 874.5 thousand persons, and the residents of the rural areas constituted 44.11% of all the registered unemployed. Unemployment in rural areas is a derivative of unemployment in the entire economy, the low mobility of rural residents, as well as the limited possibilities of the labour market in rural areas. It differs from unemployment in urban areas. It is of a more permanent nature, and the labour market is not as fl exible. Among the unemployed in rural areas, the non-agricultural population (not having farms) is in a much worse situation as compared to the population connected with agriculture.
Na polskiej wsi postępuje proces dezagraryzacji przejawiający się systematycznym zmniejszaniem się roli rolnictwa w produktywnym angażowaniu pracy ludzkiej oraz dostarczaniu dochodów dla utrzymania ludności wiejskiej. Analiza danych, niezależnie od ich źródła, wskazuje na niekorzystną sytuację na rynku pracy ludności zamieszkującej tereny wiejskie. W ostatnich latach liczba osób rejestrujących się jako bezrobotne wzrastała. Na koniec 2011 roku rejestrowane bezrobocie na wsi osiągnęło poziom 874,5 tys. osób, a mieszkańcy wsi stanowili 44,11% wszystkich zarejestrowanych bezrobotnych. Bezrobocie na wsi jest pochodną zarówno bezrobocia w całej gospodarce, jak też niskiej mobilności mieszkańców wsi oraz ograniczonych możliwości rynku pracy na obszarach wiejskich. Różni się ono od bezrobocia w miastach. Posiada ono trwalszy charakter, a rynek pracy nie jest tak elastyczny. Wśród bezrobotnych na wsi w znacznie gorszej sytuacji znajduje się ludność bezrolna w porównaniu z ludnością związaną z gospodarstwami rolnymi.

The purpose of this article is to present the infl uence of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on labor market in rural areas in Poland. Based on subject literature and statistical data, the author examines enterprises with at least 10% of foreign ownership in the context of their impact on the quantitative sphere of labor market, i.e. creating jobs. The article presents theoretical aspects of FDI effects on the host country’s economy and characteristics of enterprises with foreign capital in polish rural areas, including their size, investment expenditures and revenue and type of activity based on classifi cation of business activities. In analyzed research period 2014–2017, the number of entities with foreign capital in rural areas decreased by 17%, from 4.4 to 3.7 thousand. Despite the decline in the number of enterprises, the number of employees increased by 23.2%, from 225 to 277 thousand. This research shows that in last of the analyzed year foreign companies were employing 1,938 million people, what accounted for 15% of private sector workers in Poland. About 14% of them were employed in companies localized in rural areas. The vast majority of jobs in companies with foreign capital in rural areas were created by entities involved in manufacturing activities. In these fi rms, about 149 thousand people were employed, accounting for 56% of workers employed in companies with foreign capital in rural areas in Poland.

The aim of this paper is to discuss the regional labour market policy response to demographic ageing in Sweden and its consequences on the labour supply of young adults. Regions with ageing problems already experience significant problems at the labour market. The overall conclusion is that labour market policies in Sweden addressing the consequences of ageing fail to include young adults and the policies do not address regional heterogeneity regarding e.g. ageing and youth unemployment.

The article addresses the basic relationship between law and economics on the example of the regulations contained in agricultural law. The article discusses the attitudes of rural population with uncertain income on the labour market. It pays attention to the main source of income in the group under investigation and the influence of education on the occupational activity. The respondents were observed to exhibit mostly passive and conservative attitudes, which were manifested with their poor engagement in searching for employment and with their lack of willingness, skills and ideas for their own business. The authors also observed the growth of unfavourable attitudes among the population without permanent employment, such as the demanding attitude and withdrawal. The article presents the reasons why the people do not look for a job and their attitudes on the labour market. An important element of the article is the perception of the respondents’ existence in comparison with members of other households and the methods of coping with the unfavourable living situation.
W artykule omówiono postawy ludności wiejskiej o niepewnych dochodach na rynku pracy. Zwrócono uwagę na główne źródło utrzymania w badanej grupie oraz wpływ wykształcenia na podejmowaną aktywność zawodową. Zauważono, że dominujące wśród respondentów są postawy pasywne i zachowawcze, przejawiające się małym zaangażowaniem w poszukiwanie zatrudnienia, a także brak woli, umiejętności i pomysłów na własną działalność. Zwrócono również uwagę na pogłębiające się niekorzystne zjawiska wśród ludności bez trwałego zatrudnienia, takie jak roszczeniowość czy też wycofanie. W artykule przedstawiono przyczyny nieposzukiwania pracy oraz przyjmowane postawy na rynku pracy. Ważnym elementem artykułu jest postrzeganie warunków funkcjonowania respondentów w porównaniu z członkami innych gospodarstw domowych, a także sposoby radzenia sobie z niekorzystną sytuacją życiową.

Agrotourism plays a huge role in the activation of rural areas. Its position and market power affects a number of external components and mechanisms. And although its positive impact on the economic and social development rural areas is noticeable, it also reveals a number of barriers related. An important aspect is to strengthen awareness of local communities concerning benefits resulting from the development of this non-agricultural source of income. Only then it will trigger a multiplier effect that will eventually lead to reduction of unemployment, job creation in sectors serving tourists, revenue growth and will improve both living standard and working conditions of the population actively involved. Improving the visibility of rural values, processing, traditional crafts, rural buildings can become a powerful magnet for tourists, tourists looking for new unconventional forms of recreation. Benefits of the development of rural tourism can become real if there is visible involvement and close cooperation between both - service providers and local authorities (government).

Agricultural extension and advisory services in Africa have significant impact on food security as well as economic and social development. Recent moves towards a pluralistic delivery system, facilitated by the emergence of private-sector led initiatives in many countries are the subject of policy and academic discourse. This study used an adapted, fit-for-purpose market systems development framework to review available research in extension and advisory services in selected sub-Sahara Africa countries. Using a literature survey methodology, we report evidence of multiple actors in extension delivery, findings that point towards evolution towards mixed delivery as well as objectives. While there are significant uptake of cost-recovery approaches among commercially-oriented farmers, many smallholder farmers still depended on donor-funded services. Our review adds to existing knowledge through incorporating a market systems development framework, which extends the often-used willingness to pay approach, and highlights the need for merger of both public and private-sector objectives to achieve developmental outcomes.

Empirical research into social vulnerability - and into strategies that allow people to persist or secure their existence - has most often concerned itself with peripheral, poorly-developed regions with a long history of shortages; frequently even ones in which a failure to solve socio-political problems over decades or even centuries, manifests itself in a permanent crisis. One such region is north-western Peru, presented in this article by the authors who have proceeded on the assumption that the socioeconomic development of the country's mountainous areas (including Frías, the district selected for study) not only reflects a peripheral location as regards central areas of Peru and the department of Piura, but is also an outcome of the workings of political and environmental factors that do not help sustain (or in many cases even obstruct) processes of development. *This article is based on work carried out within the project entitled: “Strategies for promoting sustainable rural development in regions with high levels of poverty. The attractiveness of labour markets for work commuters, referring to the traditional push-pull model of migration described by E. Lee, is shaped by two key-driver categories: pull forces which attract external labour resources and push forces which push local labour workforce outside. These factors can be considered more broadly and be perceived consequently as development opportunities and constraints/obstacles of individuals as well as professional and social groups. The interplay between pull and push forces creates fundamental conditions/circumstances to reveal various spatial mobility patterns among work commuters. The main objective of the study was to evaluate attractiveness of the small towns' labour markets in Poland, or in a wider approach identify their position in the hierarchy of labour markets in the country. In order to fulfil the main objective the comparative analysis was applied based on the scale (size of flows) of labour resources incoming to/outgoing from the small town and other territorial categories: large cities, medium- -sized towns and rural areas.
