Opis:
The main aim of this article is to present the results of studies on the involvement into the role of grandparents and relationship with their grandchildren, and the importance of grandchildren with building a well-being of grandparents in terms of meaning and purpose of life. The research bases on the latest reports of psychological and sociological researches and on classification of styles of grandparenting proposed by Cherlin and Furstenberg. The results indicate the existence of differences between styles of grandparenting (involved, companionate, remote). The differences are related to contacts between grandchildren and grandparents, the amount of the forms of activities with grandchildren, the level of help which the grandparents offer to the parents and the significance that grandchildren have with building well-being of grandparents.

Opis:
Dreissena polymorpha inhabits about 46.5% of the bottom area in Lake Dabie. It is most abundant in the northern part of the lake and sporadically occurs in its southern part. The average density of the zebra mussel is 891 individuals/m², while its wet weight is 1374 g/ m². In the settled areas the density of the zebra mussel reaches 1734 individuals/ m². There were presently established 7 age-groups from 0 to 6+. The highest number of specimens occurred in the age-groups between 1+ and 3+, while the lowest number - in the groups 0, 5 and 6+. Strong eutrophication and pollution of Lake Dabie on its southern side, combined with sedimentation of the extensive amounts of seston carried in by the Płonia and Regalica rivers, do not create favourable conditions for development of Dreissena. D. polymorpha plays a very positive role in the lake ecosystem through its biofiltrating action, contributing thus to an increase of water clarity and to limitation of phytoplankton development through cumulating nutrients in its biomass. Electrophoretic analysis of 9 enzymatic loci revealed strong polymorphism of the studied population of the zebra mussel: percent of polymorphic loci - 100, mean number of alleles in locus – 3.4, coefficient of expected heterozygosity per locus in the population, HS - 0.335, percentage of separate genotypes - 69%, in this number unique genotypes - 58%. A very strong scattering of the alleles was stated within the entire population. In each aggregation, on average, 90% of the specimens have a separate genotype. Each of the five defined groups of D. polymorpha, representing profiles I-V, respectively, had similar genetic composition. The values of the genetic similarity among the studied groups of the zebra mussel ranged from 0.96 to 0.99.

Jednym z zagadnień dyskusyjnych, które spowodowały podział środowiska ekonomistów na zwalczające się naukowo grupy, jest spór o miejsce i pozycję państwa i rynku w funkcjonowaniu gospodarki narodowej. Niektóre poglądy autor naświetlił w artykule.
Among many problems which have emerged during the process of transformation which takes place in our economy, the most important is the dispute about the place and the position of the state and the market, about their "inborn" properties, and about their advantages and disadvantages among others. Assessment made by economists on this issue is totally different. When you take into consideration the authors who stress the value of market economy and its characteristic mechanisms, first of all you should mention the following names: W. Wilczyński, L. Balcerowicz and J. Winiecki. On the other hand, Z. Mikołajewicz, A. Łukaszewicz, the same as P. Bożyk, K. Łaski and J. Pajestka represent a critic standpoint in this field. A similar division is applied when you take into consideration the importance of economic role of the state. Those who would like to lessen its value include: A. Leopold, F. Tomczak, Z. Hockuba, J. Beksiak, C. Józefiak, J. Dąbrowski and J. Winiecki. Less extreme ones, since they clearly see a particular necessity of economic activity of the state includes J. Eysymontt. Whereas S. Kurowski rejects the saying: "The minimum state", and suggests "The sufficient state" as the guideline. And finally - the authors who advertise expansion of the state role in the conditions (what is essential) of system transformation include the following names: M. Klamut, M. Perczyński, H. Sopniewska, B. Winiarski, T. Kowalik, Z. Sadowski, J. Pajestka, A. Łukaszewicz, J. Wierzbołowski, G. Kołodko, J. Kaleta, and W. Sztyber. Thus, the question arises – which is thought over by K. Porwit – what basic requirements should be fulfilled, to bring the opponents together.

W artykule autor zwraca uwagę na różnice w neoklasycznym podejściu do mikroekonomii, z uwzględnieniem podziału na mikroekonomię "starą" i "nową". Prezentuje też potencjalną rolę państwa w obu tych ujęciach mikroekonomicznych. Oba ujęcia różnią się podejściem do roli państwa w gospodarce. "Nowa" mikroekonomia staje przed problemem zbytniego uproszczenia modelu. Jeśli za pomocą jednego modelu można wyjaśnić wszystko, to nie wyjaśnia on niczego. W takim wypadku państwo odgrywa w nim taką rolę, jaką wyznaczą mu korzystający z tego modelu. Oznacza to, że państwo może aktywnie uczestniczyć w procesach gospodarczych lub nie. Zwolennicy interwencjonizmu modelują zatem sytuacje, w których państwo odgrywa jakąś rolę, neoliberałowie zaś postępują przeciwnie. Nasuwa się zatem wniosek, iż niezależnie od tego, czy jest to ujęcie "nowe" czy "stare", ekonomia neoklasyczna nie przesądza definitywnie o potencjalnej roli państwa w gospodarce
The argument of this paper is that this procedure is unacceptable. It first sets out to look at the expression "neoclassical" in general, dividing it into "old" and "new" microeconomics. Secondly, the (potential) role of the state is discussed in these microeconomic areas. The conclusion with regard to old microeconomics is along the lines of J. Stiglitz, i.e. the end of communism should be taken as a refutation of neoclassical economics. While the conclusion for new microeconomics hinges on the fatal methodological fault that one is capable of modeling everything.

Pyrimidoacridinetriones (PATs) are a new group of highly active antitumor compounds. It seems reasonable to assume that, like for some other acridine derivatives, intercalation into DNA is a necessary, however not a sufficient condition for antitumor activity of these compounds. Rational design of new compounds of this chemotype requires knowledge about the structure of the intercalation complex, as well as about interactions responsible for its stability. Computer simulation techniques such as molecular dynamics (MD) may provide valuable information about these problems. The results of MD simulations performed for three rationally selected PATs are presented in this paper. The compounds differ in the number and position of side chains. Each of the compounds was simulated in two systems: i) in water, and ii) in the intercalation complex with the dodecamer duplex d(GCGCGCGCGCGC)2. The orientation of the side chain in relation to the ring system is determined by the position of its attachment. Orientation of the ring system inside the intercalation cavity depends on the number and position of side chain(s). The conformations of the side chain(s) of all PATs studied in the intercalation complex were found to be very similar to those observed in water.

Type A is widely treated as a risk of diseases (mostly coronary heart diseases) and stress, including occupational stress. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the efficiency of intervention in modifying Type A in 25 managers in comparison with 38 Type A controls, who did not participate in the intervention. Additionally, the usefulness of the intervention was analysed when reactivity, as a temperamental dimension of Type A participants, was taken into account. High reactivity of Type A persons was assumed here as the presumed cause of the negative consequences in their health and well-being. The results showed a significant reduction in stress-related emotional symptoms, like depression, anxiety, anger, self-esteem, positive affects due to the intervention. These changes with the reduction in work ambiguity were greater in high reactive Type As than in low reactive ones.

The paper sought to present the assumptions of Georg Simmel's sociology. Founding sociology, Simmel relies on the results of his epistemological research. In reference to sociology, he calls his research „theory of knowledge of the social science” or „theory of the knowledge about society.” These theories are supposed to answer the questions about the character of social reality, and about individuals as participants and co-creators of this reality. Epistemological research in sociology is that important because the subject matter of sociology is very complex, and is a result the working of an infinite number of social processes. The paper is also an attempt at an a priori sociological interpretation, that is the understanding and individual character of social harmony.

The paper seeks to bring home to theorists and practitioners of education one of the branches of pedagogical thought, namely existential pedagogy. The main line of thinking in pedagogy can be defined in the following way: the point is to help people to overcome their banal existence and help them to choose a way towards authentic existence. Thus formulated watchword of this trend opens a new perspective on pedagogical thinking of great importance both theoretical and practical. It is true that in the end of the 1960s the peculiar vogue for existentialism was in the wane. Nevertheless it brought about a vivid interest in philosophy, introduced a new approach in many domains of science, including pedagogy. Consequently, the reality of education and its planning could better be recognized. By opening to what is non-verifiable, existentialism made it possible to seek after the sense of existence and education (interest in the noetic dimension), and to quest after a climate in which one could adopt an attitude of openness and overcome abstract categories (V. Frankl). The very categories of existentialism are significant, starting with the category of „existence” (Lat. existere - take place, exist, appear, be outside, go towards). Owing to existentialism such categories as „freedom,” experience etc. have clearly received a dynamic dimension in pedagogy. The author points to existentialism as a branch of contemporary philosophical thought with which is connected its appearance in pedagogical thought. The author devotes much attention, within the framework of basic problems of existential pedagogy, to the tasks and objectives of education. He does this by turning our attention to the axiology of existential pedagogy, understanding of the educational relationship, the role of educator/teacher and pupil/student in the overall dynamism of the educational process. Then he goes on to outline an existential approach to the methodology of education and instruction. By showing the main aspects of the existentialist trend in pedagogical thought, the paper may become a help in understanding not only how to approach the reality of education in the future, but also how to understand many ideas that have been imported to pedagogical thought by existentialism. Undoubtedly, existentialism has contributed to the recognition of the role of human experiences and emotions in the formation of personality. This can also be seen as an important element in the formation of a society that is more capable of empathy, dialogue, reconciliation, and sensitivity. It is especially valuable of existentialism that it has directed pedagogical thinking towards planning (in relation with the be-project idea) and the carrying out of plans in the future. They call for the climate of empathy, agreement, dialogue, and collaboration with others. Existentialism has faced criticism, but has also won great popularity and recognition. At least some of these attitudes are illustrated in the paper. Generally, one can say that undoubtedly existentialism has had its role in stressing a living concrete anew in pedagogical thought. Among other things, it has contributed a lot to the issue of coming to terms between individualism and socialization, subjectivism and objectivism, solving these problems by way of compromise between the two kinds of opposition.

All basic components of the water budget of a mature spruce and beech stand in the Orlické Mts are quantified and the results are given in summary tables. Rest periods (November–April) and vegetation seasons (May–October) are evaluated separately. Special attention is paid to the measurement of snow cover and the processes of snow melting in both types of stands.
