Ausgehend von Defoes berühmter Fußabdruckszene konzentriert sich dieser Beitrag auf Patrick Chamoiseaus Rewriting L’empreinte à Crusoé (2012). In dem polyphonen Roman des martinikanischen Autors wird der Fußabdruck zum Katalysator für Individuation und Beziehung. Nachdem er einen Fußabdruck auf der Insel entdeckt hat, ist Chamoiseaus Robinson, ein an Amnesie leidender schwarzer Afrikaner, von der möglichen Anwesenheit eines Anderen wie besessen: Er stellt seine Identität in Frage und entwickelt eine neue Beziehung zur ganzen Insel, ihrer Flora und Fauna. Im Hinblick auf Chamoiseaus theoretische und poetologische Ideen zur Kreolisierung, die er im Manifest der Kreolisierungsbewegung, Éloge de la Créolité (1989), gemeinsam mit dem Linguisten Jean Bernabé und dem Schriftsteller Raphaël Confiant entwickelt, kann der Roman als eine poetische Transformation dieser Ideen betrachtet werden. Der Fußabdruck wird vor diesem Hintergrund zu einem Symbol für Kreolisierungsprozesse.
Starting with Defoe’s famous footprint scene, this contribution focuses on the Martiniquan author Patrick Chamoiseau’s rewriting of Robinson Crusoe L’empreinte à Crusoé (2012). In this polyphonic novel, the footprint becomes an accelerator for individualisation and relation. After discovering the footprint, Chamoiseau’s Robinson, a black amnesic African, is obsessed by the possible presence of another. He puts into question his identity and enters into a new relation with the whole island, its flora and fauna. The novel might be seen as a poetical transformation of Chamoiseau’s theoretical and poetological ideas on creolization which are developed in the manifesto of the creoleness movement In Praise of Creoleness. The footprint thus becomes a symbol for the creolization processes.

The paper discusses refocalization as a strategy of rewriting in the literary apocrypha (D. Szajnert). Refocalization, that is based on G. Genette and H. Jenkins’ conclusions, refers to the shift from the perspective and narrative that dominates canonical works into perspective and narrative predominant in the literary apocrypha of the canonical works. As the subject of research I chose the apocrypha of the Homeric epics (M. Atwood’s The Penelopiad and Ch. Wolf’s Cassandra) in which patriarchal, omniscient narrative is replaced by perspective and narrative of women marginalized in the epic.

The contemporary rewritings of Don Juan’s myth highlight several forms of hybridity and illustrate the stakes involved. The hybridation affects in the first place the sources of the myth since the authors appeal to numerous intertextual references. But the successive transpositions of the mythical scenario also lead to a generic hybridity. This intermediality has a reflexive dimension: it raises the question of the limits of language to talk about the myth and abolishes the frontier between fiction and critical speech.

What is the role of translation in Maragall’s work? If his first goal was to bestow cultural support to Catalan literature with the addition of the European authors of Modernism, the second stage of the Catalan poet’s agenda becomes more ambitious, delving into the origins of Western literature and culminating in the translation of the Homeric Hymns. My contribution analyzes how, on the one hand, the Catalan rewriting of the works of Nietzsche, Goethe, Novalis, or Dante draws a progressive and continuous line within Maragall’s ideas; and, on the other hand, what impact these versions have on his own literary creation, through the loanwords that spread across his translations, and his poetry.

Hoodwinked! is a computer-animated movie retelling the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Although the storyline of a little girl who is harassed by the wolf while going to her grandma is retained, the creators have played with narrative conventions and changed it into a whodunit musical with the “Rashomon effect”. Many unexpected twists added to the story build up a completely new picture of the commonly known fairy tale. This paper focuses on the unique intertextuality of Hoodwinked! which is a prime example of the postmodern genre with a host of cinematic allusions and pop culture references. The analysis of these elements and ones specific for a folktale prove that such a combination forms a palatable product that cannot be called a pale imitation.
Hoodwinked! to film będący przykładem animacji komputerowej, który opowiada na nowo historię Czerwonego Kapturka. Choć główna oś fabuły, w której mała dziewczynka zostaje zaatakowana przez wilka podczas swej wyprawy do babci, jest w nim zachowana, do znanej baśni wprowadzono też wiele zmian. Przede wszystkim twórcy filmu zabawili się narracyjną konwencją, zmieniając historię w musicalowy kryminał z „efektem Rashomon”. Stąd wiele niespodziewanych zwrotów akcji zmienia obraz dobrze znanego utworu. Opracowanie skupia się na wyjątkowej intertekstualności Hoodwinked!, który jest doskonałym przykładem kina postmodernistycznego z mnóstwem aluzji i odniesień do kultury popularnej. Analiza tych elementów i cech charakterystycznych baśni udowadnia, że film ten zasługuje na więcej aniżeli miano słabej imitacji.

The article is devoted to the works of Emma Tennant, an English writer, the author of, inter alia, the continuation of Sense and Sensibility, Emma, as well as Pride and Prejudice. A characteristic feature of Tennant’s writing was the ability to give new meanings to the texts and myths of the popular culture – so she did with the story of Elinor and Marianne, or Sylvia Plath, to whom she devoted one of her better texts. The article, based on the example of Emma Tennant’s writing, focuses on the issues of the strategy of creating literature as rewriting and functioning of feminist ideas in the modern literature.

Una de las obras literarias que más se prestan a un continuo estudio y revisión es Don Quijote de la Mancha, puesto que en la novela de Miguel de Cervantes encontramos un gran número de técnicas literarias que se han empleado posteriormente; también es fuente inagotable para nuevas novelas, no obstante de ella se han extraído historias y personajes que han continuado su “vida” fuera del Quijote. En el ámbito de la narrativa española contemporánea, el leonés Andrés Trapiello (1953) es el escritor que más destaca en el ámbito de las reescrituras quijotescas al ser autor de dos de las continuaciones más actuales de la obra de Cervantes, Al morir don Quijote y El final de Sancho Panza y otras suertes. En este trabajo abordaremos el estudio de ambas obras y seguiremos a los protagonistas de la novela de Cervantes en sus andaduras una vez fallecido Alonso Quijano. Comprobaremos que quien toma las riendas de las vidas de estos personajes no será Sancho, sino el bachiller, Sansón Carrasco, y profundizaremos en el porqué de la relevancia adquirida por este personaje.

Opis:
Applications based on knowledge engineering require operations on semantic data. Modern systems have to deal with large data volumes and the challenge is to process and search these data effectively. One of the aspects of efficiency is the ability to query those data with respect to their semantics. In this area an RDF data model and a SPARQL query language gained the highest popularity and are de facto standards. The problem is that most data in modern systems are stored in relational databases and have no formal and precisely expressed semantics, although operations on those data are fast and scalable. Traditionally, in this area relational data are transformed to a form expected by reasoning and querying systems (usually RDF based). In this work a method of query rewriting is presented that translates a query to an RDF data structure (i.e. SPARQL query) to a SQL query executed by RDBMS. Transforming queries instead of data has many advantages and might lead to significant increase of data extraction efficiency.

The collapse of Eastern Bloc equivalent with disappearance of the Second World left great political and geographical sphere in the ‘vacuum of ideas’. A priori the Postcommunist space has been included into transition and transformation studies discourses. In principle following the scientific fashion whole former space of Eastern Bloc has been classified as the developing consolidating democracies with neoliberal model of economy. Futuristic presumptions from the beginning of 90s after 25 years required additional critical perspective and revision. Social facts analysis is emphasizing the mistaken and limited contexts of transitology and in parallel leads to reflection why postcolonial potential of the sphere is by postcolonial theory omitting. Paper is delivering the analyze of the significant obstacles for postcolonial rewriting of the history of postcommunist space amid others the role of Marxism, importance of experience, reductionist character of transition studies and wrong interpretation of the basic assumptions of postcolonialism. Article is aiming to describe those crucial barriers which led to the ignoring of the achievements of postcolonial critique in the analysis of cultural, social and political conditions of former Second World.

L'Affaire Furtif (2010) by Sylvain Prudhomme and L'Empreinte à Crusoé (2012) by Patrick Chamoiseau invest the ‘robinsonade’ genre with a renewed thought on memory and forgetfulness. These stories have the particularity of enriching the thematic and philosophical treatment of forgetfulness with a literary approach, in the light of the mythical legacy in which they are involved. Forgetfulness constitutes an initiatory threshold, desired in Prudhomme's case or endured in Chamoiseau's, thanks to which the main characters discover or rediscover themselves. Above all, the two stories have a strong specular dimension used to think on the weight of literary legacy in scriptural work.

Haunting in literary fiction is often interpreted psychologically as a sign of suppressed psychic content or as nostalgia or mourning for the loss. Yet, it may also be used allegorically as a manifestation of hidden social conflicts, and hence mark a political agenda of thus constructed works. In the novels by Sarah Waters spectres, poltergeists and haunting appear not as a sign of or a contact with an outer reality; to the contrary, they may be seen as perfectly human-though eccentric-expressions of class and economic inferiority. In Affinity spectres and spiritual séances are presented as a means of earning money by lower classes and the latter’s cunning use of the upper classes’ credulity. In The Little Stranger the poltergeist may be interpreted as an accumulated anger and desire of the servants long ignored by the masters of the emblematic country house. In both, haunting and ghosts manifest vengeance of the underprivileged taken on the socially superior. The essay shows how fictional haunting and spectrality, far from marking a supernatural reality or introducing extrasensory concepts, may function as an allegorical method to discuss political and social problems such as class inequality or social justice.

Opis:
A very particular form of reception of the Don Quijote de la Mancha is musical reception. In transcoding from narrative prose to the language of the Opera, the librettist shows his personal knowledge of the work of Miguel de Cervantes, read in the original text or in translation. Since the eighteenth century, in some librettos written in Italian, adherence to the hypotext, albeit interpreted in a new light, leads in some passages to an authentic rewriting of the play. The aim of this article is to show the processes of transcoding de Cervantes’ novels based on significant Italian librettists.
Szczególną formą odbioru Don Kiszota z la Manchy jest recepcja muzykalna. W transkodowaniu z narracyjnej prozy na język operowy, librecista wykazuje się własną znajomością dzieła Miguela de Cervantesa, czytanego w oryginale lub w przekładzie. Od XVIII wieku, w niektórych librettach napisanych po włosku, przestrzeganie hipotekstu, aczkolwiek interpretowanego w nowym świetle, prowadzi w niektórych fragmentach do autentycznego przepisania sztuki. Celem artykułu jest pokazanie procesów transkodowania powieści de Cervantesa na podstawie znaczących włoskich librecistów.
