    The purpose of this article is to evaluate and select websites in Polish book sector with regard to quality measured by their usefulness for an individual client. First, the author has presented characteristics of the sector and basic methodological assumptions of the study. Next, he has conducted evaluations by means of a simple scoring method, a scoring method with preferences and relational research using T. Saaty's AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method. The findings have been analysed and the author has compared the results of the study. (JEL: L15, VL81, C88).
    Celem artykułu jest ocena i wybór stron internetowych polskiego sektora książkowego w odniesieniu do jakości otrzymanej pod względem przydatności tych stron dla klienta indywidualnego. W pierwszej części autor przedstawił charakterystykę sektora oraz podstawowe założenia metodologiczne dotyczące badania. Następnie przeprowadzono ocenę za pomocą prostej metody punktowej, metody punktowej z preferencjami oraz badanie relacyjne z wykorzystaniem metody AHP Saaty'ego (Analytic Hierarchy Process). Na końcu Autor przeanalizował wyniki badań oraz porównał ich rezultaty.

    Objectives: The purpose of this text is to identify the main types of intergenerational relationships and methods of integration different generations applied in everyday life. Recognition of these practices should be used in inclusion policy. Research Design & Methods: This article uses qualitative methods of sociology, in particular biographical narratives (story of life) to explore types of intergenerational relationships. Findings: This paper finds that relational structures are an important part of every biographical narrative. Research has identified five types of intergenerational relationships. Implications / Recommendations: This article stresses the importance of biographical work and the restrictions on the creation of multigenerational groups as a fairly common way of integrating different generations. Contribution / Value Added: The approach presented in this article opens new possibilities for a policy of inclusion and ways of counteracting intergenerational conflicts.

    Taking as its starting point Ted Chiang’s novella “Story of Your Life”, the article revisits Richard Schechner’s definition of performance as a method in the context of such interdisciplinary research fields as decolonial theory and Black Studies, which search for alternatives to the Western ways of gathering and transmitting knowledge. These emerging fields not only promote situated, local knowledge practices as knowledge ecologies, interweaving theoretical and practical approaches. They also look for relational ontologies on which the concept of pluriversum (many worlds in one world) is premised to replace the hegemonic Western dualistic ontology. This encourages a verification of the method of approaching other phenomena as performances. This method, fundamental to performance studies, upholds the dichotomy between an active knowing subject and a passive known object. To subvert this binary approach scholarly writing itself has to become a sort of performance. In the article, Chiang’s novella acts as a First Contact scenario which is actualized by detailed references to scholarly works and thesis. In this way, the scenario allows for a stepwise confrontation of different research approaches, usually analysed separately and situated either in the heart of the Western paradigm or on its margins, if not entirely beyond its boundaries.

    In the paper were presented examples of use of some intelligence tools such as a neural network, expert system and relational database to ship design. The neural network of back-propagation of errors was applied to select required power of ship main propulsion system on the basis of ship main parameters. Results obtained by using the network were compared with resulting values for similar ships found in Access database application. To aid design of the main propulsion system and ship power plant automation fuzzy logic was applied as an element of Case Based Reasoning (CBR) method in Exsys expert system as well as a few methods for selection of similar ships, elaborated by the authors.

    Researchers are using different statistical techniques for process optimisation and product development both in academia and industries. Similarly, several statistical tools are being employed in the textile industry for process optimisation during the manufacturing of different products. The purpose of this study was to analyse different Taguchi-based techniques in the multi-response optimisation of selected industrial processes and then to generalise the outcomes. Herein, six different Taguchi-based multi-response optimisation techniques, including grey relational analysis (GRA), the weighted signal-to-noise (WSN) ratio, principal component analysis, VIKOR (VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje), the multiple response signal-to-noise ratio, and Fuzzy logic were compared against three data sets of industrial processes. The researchers herein optimised cotton dyeing, the finishing of textile to make them oleo-hydrophobic, and the production of rhamnolipids (bio-surfactants). The results demonstrated that the Fuzzy logic-based Taguchi method gave the best optimisation amongst all the other approaches, followed by GRA and WSN for all the selected processes. The said statistical techniques were applied to specific textile and biotechnological processes. The outcomes of this study can help researchers in practical implementation in industrial sectors. In this study, a comparative analysis of the performances of six Taguchi-based multi-response optimisation techniques was conducted for potential industrial processes, particularly textile processing.
    Niegarbowane odpady skórzane pochodzące z przemysłu garbarskiego są potencjalnym zagrożeniem dla środowiska naturalnego. Z drugiej jednak strony tego rodzaju odpady zawierają znaczące ilości cennego białka – kolagenu. Białko kolagenowe jest biopolimerem, który z uwagi na swoje właściwości znajduje zastosowanie w przemyśle spożywczym, kosmetycznym oraz w przemyśle biomedycznym. Obecnie na rynku dostępne są preparaty kolagenowe pozyskane z odpadów pochodzenia zwierzęcego. W pracy przedstawiono procedurę oznaczania aminokwasów w wybranych preparatach kolagenowych metodą wysokosprawnej chromatografii cieczowej i metodą spektrofotometryczną. We wszystkich próbkach oznaczono wysokie stężenia glicyny, alaniny, proliny i hydroksyproliny, a niewielkie ilości tyrozyny, seryny, waliny i izoleucyny. Zastosowana metoda chromatograficzna umożliwia szybkie i równoczesne oznaczenie 17 aminokwasów w badanych próbach. Opracowane w ramach pracy metody analityczne mogą być wykorzystane m.in. do szybkiej kontroli składu aminokwasowego kolagenu.

    Celem rozważań jest zdefiniowanie wzorcowego modelu relacji konsumenckich i pracowniczych banku z punktu widzenia kategorii marketingu relacyjnego. W części teoretycznej artykułu przeprowadzono analizę poszczególnych elementów koncepcji marketingu relacyjnego. W części empirycznej przeprowadzono analizę badań z wykorzystaniem metody AHP na podstawie materiałów pozyskanych od klientów i pracowników banków i instytucji parabankowych wyodrębnionych na podstawie kryteriów celowo-losowych
    Цель рассуждений – определить образцовую модель отношений между потребителями и работниками банка с точки зрения категорий маркетинга отношений. В теоретической части статьи провели анализ отдельных элементов метода анализа иерархий (англ. AHP) на основе материалов, полученных от клиентов и работников банков и парабанковских учреждений, выделенных на основе намеренно-случайных критериев.
    This article aims to establish a model of ideal consumer and employee relations in a bank as seen from the perspective of relational marketing. The paper analyses individual elements of the relational marketing framework and reviews empirical data via the AHP technique. The material in use was acquired from customers and employees of banks and quasi-banks. In the study, we embraced intentional as well as random criteria.

    The objective of the present study is to optimize multiple process parameters in turning for achieving minimum chip-tool interface temperature, surface roughness and specific cutting energy by using numerical models. The proposed optimization models are offline conventional methods, namely hybrid Taguchi-GRA-PCA and Taguchi integrated modified weighted TOPSIS. For evaluating the effects of input process parameters both models use ANOVA as a supplementary tool. Moreover, simple linear regression analysis has been performed for establishing mathematical relationship between input factors and responses. A total of eighteen experiments have been conducted in dry and cryogenic cooling conditions based on Taguchi L18 orthogonal array. The optimization results achieved by hybrid Taguchi-GRA-PCA and modified weighted TOPSIS manifest that turning at a cutting speed of 144 m/min and a feed rate of 0.16 mm/rev in cryogenic cooling condition optimizes the multi-responses concurrently. The prediction accuracy of the modified weighted TOPSIS method is found better than hybrid Taguchi-GRA-PCA using regression analysis.

    From ancient days to till today manufacturing industries, especially making of holes on the parts during drilling process for precision assembling of parts facing problems with burr formation. Drilling operation is one of the finishing operation in the production cycle, removing of burrs during drilling process is a time consuming and non-value added process to the manufacturing sector. So reducing the size of burrs is the main aim of the present study. In the present work, optimization of burr size is considered during drilling of aluminium 7075 alloy. In this connection, experiments are conducted based on Grey based Taguchi. From Grey relational grades of responses selected optimal combination of parameters to attain multiple performance characteristics of responses with a corresponding higher grey relational grade. For identifying the most significant input parameters that influence the output responses ANOVA is conducted. Based on interaction effect plots of data means of responses from results of ANOVA, confirmation tests are conducted by choosing most significant parameters. Finally, observations reveals that feed rate, point and clearance angles are the most influential factors on burr size and also experimental results divulge that the lower the thrust force causes to decrease the burr height. The proposed approach is helpful to the budding entrepreneurs in the related areas to select optimal combination of drilling parameters to attain multiple performance characteristics of responses especially in burr size to prevent the post finishing operations up to certain extent.
