Opis:
The aim of this paper is to present the problem of implementation of the Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) tech-nique in positioning of the aircraft in air navigation. The aircraft coordinates were obtained based on Global Positioning System (GPS) code observations for DGPS method. The DGPS differential corrections were transmitted from reference station REF1 to airborne receiver using Ultra High Frequency (UHF) radio modem. The airborne Thales Mobile Mapper receiver was mounted in the cabin in Cessna 172 aircraft. The research test was conducted around the military aerodrome EPDE in Dęblin in Poland. In paper, the accuracy of aircraft positioning using DGPS technique is better than 1.5 m in geocentric XYZ frame and ellipsoidal BLh frame, respectively. In addition, the obtained accu-racy of aircraft positioning is in agreement with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Required Navigation Performance (RNP) technical standards for departure phase of aircraft. The presented research method can be utilised in Ground-Based Augmentation System (GBAS) in air transport. In paper, also the accuracy results of DGPS method from flight test in Chełm are presented. The mean values of accuracy amount to ±1÷2 m for horizontal plane and ±4÷5 m for vertical plane.

Opis:
The use of a network of reference stations instead of a single reference station allows to model some systematic errors in a region, and to increase the distance between the rover receiver and reference stations. GPS reference stations exist in some countries, and GPS observations are available for users in real-time mode and in post-processing. The paper presents DGPS post-processing positioning with the use of three reference stations at the same time. The traditional DGPS is based on one reference station. It has been shown that the accuracy of such positioning is about 1 - 2 meters, depending on the number of satellites and the value of PDOP (Position Dilution of Precision). The accuracy of DGPS positioning degrades when the distance between the rover and the receiver station is increased. The paper shows that when we use three reference stations simultaneously, we can create pseudorange corrections for a virtual reference station, located in the vicinity of an unknown station. Three reference stations give redundant observations and enable to reduce the values of some measurement errors and biases. Practical calculations and analysis of accuracy have been presented for medium-long distances between the rover station and references.

Opis:
The operating zone of a radio navigation system is one of its main operating features. It determines the size of a water body in which the system can be used, while guaranteeing vessels’ navigation safety. The DGPS system in the LF/MF range is now the basic positioning system in coastal waters around the world, which guarantees not only metre positioning accuracy, but it is also the only one to provide navigators with signals on positioning reliability. This paper describes and summarises over twenty years of studies dealing with the operating zone of the Polish DGPS reference station network. This paper is the fifth in a series of publications whose aim was to present in detail the process of installation, testing and long-term evaluation of the navigational parameters of the Polish DGPS system, launched in 1995. This paper includes the theoretical foundations of determination of the Dziwnów and Rozewie DGPS reference station operating zones in the years 1995-2018. Moreover, it presents the measurement results for the signal levels and the results of their analyses, which determine the station operating zones.

Opis:
One of the main problems in modern navigation of both manned and unmanned transport systems is that of transport safety. Differential GNSS technology has been used to improve the accuracy of transport positioning, in which position is calculated relative to a fixed reference station with a known position XYZ. Unfortunately, GNSS is vulnerable to malicious intrusion. GNSS signals and/or correction signals from the reference station can be spoofed by false signals, and special receivers have been used to provide defenses against such attacks. But how can the roving receiver (i.e. the user) be sure that the information they receive is authentic? Spoofing is the transmission of a matched-GNSS-signal-structure and/or signals to a reference station in order to cause interference and attempt to commandeer the tracking loops of a victim receiver, thereby allowing manipulation of the receiver’s timing or navigation solution. A spoofer can transmit its counterfeit signals from a stand-off distance of several hundred meters, or it can be co-located with its victim. In this article we consider the principles of spoofing detection using Differential GNSS, in which a correction signal from the reference station is used for the detection of spoofing.

Opis:
The RTN measurements in Poland date back to 2006, when the Małopolska System for Precision Positioning (MSPP) was started up. In 2008, the nationwide ASG-EUPOS system was put in operation in Poland. The paper presents the results of the test measurements aimed at evaluating the accuracy of position determination of points, based on the MSPP. The GPS static measurements, RTN measurements, tachymetric measurements and precision levelling were performed on 24 test points stabilised in the distances of approx. 12 km, 21 km and 34 km from the KRAW station located centrally in the MSPP. During the test measurements ca. 3000 positions of points were determined altogether, using the following mountpoints: RTCM_FKP, RTCM_23VRS, RTK3.0 (RTCM 3.0 VRS) and KRAW_RTCM30. While analysing the averaged results of the measurements of the test points, it can be concluded that the information published on the MSPP website (regarding the point position accuracy of at least 3 cm for situation and 5 cm for height) is reflected in the measurement results. Taking into consideration each of the solutions individually, the values were indeed exceeded for the horizontal coordinates – 3.6% and for the height 5.6%, except for the Single Baseline solution, in which the height differences were only rarely below 5 cm.
W Polsce historia pomiarów RTN sięga praktycznie roku 2006, kiedy to uruchomiono regionalny Małopolski System Pozycjonowania Precyzyjnego (MSPP). W 2008 r. oddano do użytku ogólnopolski system ASG-EUPOS.

Opis:
The validation of the work of computational algorithms operating within the positioning system services under unusual measuring conditions is an important part of the entire system. Particularly noteworthy conditions are failures of reference stations forming the examined station network. The article evaluates the operation of the algorithm implemented to the POZGEO sub-service of the ASG-EUPOS system in the event of failure of reference stations used in the standard determination of the coordinates of the selected spatial point. The research material consisted of 117 days of continuous determination of the position of the selected spatial point using 1 hour of GPS static observations. Reports on the procedure of determining the position in the post-processing mode in POZGEO sub-service of static satellite observations were used to simulate the reduction of the number of tie vectors in coordinates’ determination method. The resistance of the automatic post-processing algorithm to failure of parts from the standard reference stations used was assessed.

Opis:
The use of SBAS corrections for navigation, in both coastal waters and inland waterways, has already brought the attention of many European authorities, which are interested in its potential to complement/replace their DGPS radio beacon networks. The European GNSS Agency (GSA) has an active long-term trajectory working to foster the EGNOS adoption in maritime through the launch of several actions whose results will pave the way for the provision of maritime EGNOS services. In this line, GSA awarded the consortium ALG-Indra, ESSP and Alberding with the Specific Contract GSA/OP/07/13/SC24 ‘Support to Maritime Service Providers for the transmission of EGNOS corrections via IALA beacons and AIS/VDES stations’. The main objective of this Specific Contract is to demonstrate the operational performance of the transmission of EGNOS corrections converted to Differential GPS corrections over the existing transmission infrastructure (AIS base stations/IALA beacons) in the Maritime and Inland Waterways (IWW) domains, while providing a detailed cost benefit analysis of the solutions proposed. This service may complement the current GNSS augmentation services exploiting synergies and benefiting from the current infrastructure and standards, facilitating the adoption of EGNOS by maritime and inland waterways authorities. Furthermore, the service has no impact at user level since the DGNSS corrections are transmitted over the existing infrastructure, in the same format and implementing the same integrity mechanisms required for traditional IALA beacons ([1]). This project will allow the maritime and IWW service providers to have a clear understanding about the technical, operational and economic feasibility of the transmission of EGNOS corrections via IALA beacons and AIS/VDES stations.
