The various sorts of descriptions are inquired; the question which entities exist and which do not is dealt with, and, in relation to this, how ‘meaning’ is to be understood.

Opis:
Spatial configuration of DGPS permanent reference station elements has an effect on performance of the entire system. Arrangement of station elements, such as broadcast antenna and reference masts, requires allowance and further linking together number of technical, operational and terrain factors. Some technical and operational factors as a rule are determined by equipment manufacturer, however terrain factors are conditioned by terrain character of the future reference station site. Terrain character is a composition of its surface shape and all geographical features situated within the reference station surroundings. These factors often can cause certain difficulties during recommended elements' arrangement of the planned reference station. This elaboration presents applications of visibility analysis in planning spatial location of reference station GPS antennas. Visibility, or viewshed, analysis is usually available in various computer programs of Geographic Information System environment. It can be performed from any point situated in three-dimensional space of elaboration range. In the case of such elements as permanent GPS antennas, application of visibility analyses solves a problem of their location with allowance of surroundings and geographical features, which can cause limitation of visibility of satellites and occurrence of multipath. By performing this kind of analyses can be determined threedimensional position of GPS antennas, which meets such requirements as recommended horizon visibility.

The paper presents a study on the expression of spatial reference in Polish and French from the perspective of acquisition of French by Polish language speakers. Our study deals with the problem of spatial reference: projective reference on sagittal axis (devant/derrière, przed/za), which refers not only to the acquisition of specific lexical items but, what is equally important from the cognitive point of view, to the appropriation of semantic distinctions related to the perception and representation of space.The empirical approach adopted in the study, in a semi-experimental manner, consisted in collecting utterances, in Polish (L1) and French (L2 and L1), of 20 young adults, concerning a series of pictures presenting various static spatial configurations. The corpus was then complemented, for comparison purposes, by French and Polish native speakers’ output in reaction to the same pictures.The aim of the analysis is to propel and add new elements to the existing descriptions of the Polish language, to approach from a different perspective the descriptions previously provided for French, and make a contribution to Polish-French comparative studies.
Cet article, qui s’inscrit dans le cadre des recherches interlinguistiques, porte sur un domaine précis de la référence spatiale : la référence projective sur l’axe sagittal (‘devant’/‘derrière’, ‘przed’/‘za’), qui appelle non seulement l’acquisition d’un lexique spécifique mais également, du point de vue cognitif, l’appropriation de distinctions sémantiques liées à la perception et aux représentations de l’espace.La démarche empirique adoptée, de forme semi-expérimentale, a consisté à recueillir les verbalisations, en polonais (L1) et en français (L2 et L1), de 20 jeunes adultes, à partir d’une série d’images regroupant diverses configurations spatiales statiques. Ce corpus est complété pour comparaison par les productions, sur les mêmes images, de francophones et de polonophones natifs.L’analyse des résultats vise à alimenter et à développer, pour le domaine concerné, les descriptions existantes du polonais, à questionner les descriptions antérieures proposées pour le français et à affiner les comparaisons polonais – français existantes
Przedmiotem artykułu jest sposób wyrażania relacji przestrzennych w językach polskim i francuskim w procesie akwizycji języka francuskiego przez polonofonów. Badanie odnosi się do konkretnego wycinka owych relacji: wyrażania umiejscowienia obiektu w osi strzałkowej (devant/ derrière, przed/za), które wymaga od uczących się języka nie tylko opanowania określonego słownictwa, ale również – z kognitywnego punktu widzenia – przyswojenia opozycji semantycznych związanych z reprezentacją przestrzeni.Badanie polegało na przedstawieniu w języku polskim (L1) i francuskim (L2 i L1) serii obrazków ukazujących różne statyczne konfiguracje przestrzenne. Uczestnikami badania byli studenci filologii romańskiej (20 osób), dwoje dorosłych polonofonów i dwoje dorosłych frankofonów.Zebrany materiał stanowi skromny wkład do opisu akwizycji języka francuskiego przez polonofonów, do opisu języka polskiego, a także do polsko-francuskich badań kontrastywnych.

Technical development, new applications and requests for increased accuracy in georeferencing are setting new demands for accuracy and reliability of reference frames. Due to crustal deformations and local movements of benchmarks, a static reference network deteriorates with time, thus eventually requiring update of the whole system. Technically, renewal of a reference frame is straightforward and should be done whenever enough new data or updated information exist to get an improvement in accuracy. An example is the International Terrestrial Reference Frame, ITRF, which is renewed regularly. The situation is more complicated with national reference frames which may have been given a legal status, and parameters defined by the national legislation. Even without that, renewal and implementation of such a frame is a multi-million euro project taking years to complete. Crustal deformations and movements deteriorate static reference frames (defined by fixed/static coordinates of benchmarks) with time. Eventually, distortions in a static reference frame will become bigger than the uncertainties of GNSS measurements, thus deteriorating the obtainable accuracy of the measurement technique. Instead of a static reference frame, one can use semi-kinematic or kinematic approach where either the transformation from global to the national reference frame or the coordinates of reference frame benchmarks are time-dependent. In this paper we give a short overview of the topic, and discuss on technical issues and future aspects of the reference frames in the viewpoint of National Mapping and Cadastre Authorities (NMA) with an example on the national strategy in Finland.

There many decision problems where numerous partial achievement functions are considered impartially which makes the distribution of achievements more important than the assignment of several achievements to the specific criteria. Such models are generally related to the evaluation and optimization of various systems which serve many users where quality of service for every individual user defines the criteria. This applies to various technical systems, like to telecommunication ones among others, as well as to social systems. An example arises in location theory, where the clients of a system are entitled to equal treatment according to some community regulations. This paper presents an implementation of decision support framework for such problems. This platform is designed for multiple criteria problems analyzed with the reference distribution approach. Reference distribution approach is an extension of the reference point method.

The text is devoted to the problem of criteria selection in the process of classification of language units. The problem is particularly evident in the case of lexemes, which do not comply with the general characteristics of the class. The problem was illustrated based on two Polish lexemes ostatni (the last, recent) and kolejny (next), which might be used both at the objective and the metatextual level. The use of such words updates a set/series which orders the entities that are being referred to and it is closely related to the perspective of the speaker who executes this ordering.

Polyphony in legal discourse: reference markers Since the law is polyphonic, one can a fortiori consider legal discourse as polyphonic. In this article, we propose to shed some light on this phenomenon. The questions formulated for this problem are the following: What is polyphony? How does the Court construct a clear and coherent discourse by orchestrating the “voices”, “opinions” or “points of view” of different actors participating in the trial? How do these voices manifest themselves in the text of the judgment? Which reference marks make it easier to identify these “voices”? The corpus proposed for our study comes from the case law of the official website of the French Court of Cassation.

The XXIV IAU General Assembly in Manchester in 2000, recommended to replace on 1 January 2003, the existing celestial reference systems with the International Celestial Reference System (ICRS). The International Terrestrial Reference System (ITRS) has formally been implemented in 1991, on the basis of the Resolution 2 of the XX IUGG General Assembly in Vienna in 1991. The ICRS consists of the ensemble of the Barycentric Celestial Reference System (BCRS) and the Geocentric Celestial Reference System (GCRS) with coordinate times Barycentric Coordinate Time (TCB) and Geocentric Coordinate Time (TCG), respectively. New celestial reference systems are built up on the basis of the relativistic theory of astronomical reference systems. Also new definition of the Intermediate Reference System (IRS) that links the celestial systems with the terrestrial system has been introduced. Orientation of the celestial IRS and the terrestrial IRS using CIP, CEO and TEO is discussed. Motion of the IRS with respect to the GCRS is determined by the new IAU 2000 precession-nutation model, while its motion with respect to the ITRS is determined by the Earth rotation parameters provided by the IERS. Presently used time systems and their actual definitions and mutual interrelations are discussed. Comparison of two approaches of computation of apparent places, the classical one and the IAU2000 one, illustrates the use of new reference systems.

Na podstawie pomiarów zarejestrowanych przez dwie automatycznestacje meteorologiczne, położone w Polsce i na Słowacji została obliczona ewapotranspiracja (ET0) według wzoru opracowanego przez Hargreavesa. Uzyskane wyniki porównano ze wzorem odniesienia zalecanego przez FAO, która przyjęła wzór Penmana-Monteitha (PM).Wysoka korelacja pomiędzy modelem odniesienia a wzorem uproszczonym Hergreavesa została pokazana. Różnice dotyczą poziomu ewapotranspiracji opracowanych na podstawie wzorów. Model Hargreaves daje wyższą wartość w porównaniu z formułą PM. W celu zastosowania modelu Penmana-Monteitha w praktyce potrzebne jest wiele parametrów meteorologicznych które są wymagane. Brak dostępu do szczegółowych danych meteorologicznych jest poważnym ograniczeniem. Metoda Hergreavesa może być używana, ale wymaga ona dalszych badań w zarówno w naszych jak i zagranicznych warunkach weryfikacji o czynniki empiryczne.

Comparative evaluation operators for sets and multisets are proposed from a possibilistic point of view. In general, an evaluator estimates the possibility of (non) co-reference of two arbitrary (sub)-objects. Such operators can be used in a hierarchical possibilistic framework for finding co-referent objects with a complex structure. This paper first discusses properties of evaluators in general and continues with studying operators for sets and multisets, thereby making a clear distinction between hard and soft evaluators. Hard evaluators are based on evaluation of derived (multi)sets, while soft evaluators use a low level evaluator to incorporate co-reference at element level. The two important parts of such a soft evaluator are an injective element mapping and an aggregation function. An algorithm to provide the injective mapping is presented and discussed. For the aggregation step, ordered weighted conjunction is studied by introducing parameterized fuzzy quantifiers to calculate weight vectors. An advanced learning strategy is introduced to train the optimal parameter matrix.

In political and philosophical terms public relations and society appear to be at odds with each other. Public relations as the representative of individual interests is opposed to the general wellbeing of society. The contradictions between PR and society should form the basis for an analysis of the relationship between PR and society from a system theory perspective (Luhmann, 1996). In the course of the examination one can differentiate between three levels of PR and society: (1) PR as part of society: in this regard the question will be what PR does for society. (2) Society in the PR environment: at this level the question will be how organisations regard society and how PR constructs societal models. (3) The entirety of PR sees itself as being apart from society: in a dynamic perspective the question here will be how the refl exive expectations change the relationship between PR and its environment.

Small, lightweight, power-efficient and low-cost microelectromechanical system (MEMS) inertial sensors and microcontrollers available in the market today help reduce the instability of Multibeam Sonars. Current MEMS inertial measurement units (IMUs) come in many shapes, sizes, and costs — depending on the application and performance required. Although MEMS inertial sensors offer affordable and appropriately scaled units, they are not currently capable of meeting all requirements for accurate and precise attitudes, due to their inherent measurement noise. The article presents the comparison of different MEMS technologies and their parameters regarding to the main application, namely Multibeam Echo Sounders (MBES). The quality of MEMS parameters is crucial for further MBES record-processing. The article presents the results of undertaken researches in that area, and these results are relatively positive for low-cost MEMS. The paper undertakes some vital aspect of using MEMS in the attitude and heading reference system (AHRS) context. The article presents a few aspects of MEMS gyro errors and their estimation process in the context of INS processing flow, as well as points out the main difficulties behind the INS when using a few top MEMS technologies.

The aim of the econometric analysis is to show the mechanism shaping the level of value of transactions made with payment cards. In the article the value of transactions from payment cards was assumed as dependent variable. Reference rate and average remuneration were accepted as dependent variables. Data from banks cover all transactions made using cards issued by banks to their clients, both in Poland and abroad. Quarterly data from the period 2000-2010 were chosen for the research. The estimation of linear order was made with the use of classic least squares method. The results confirmed the assumed hypotheses: the increase of reference rate usually leads to the decrease in the value of card transactions and the salary increase in the national economy to the reverse regularity.

In this paper I intend to review some theories of the article, paying attention to the relations they establish between reference and +/–definiteness of a noun phrase (NP). The prototypes of +/–definiteness in Spanish are the definite and indefinite articles and NPs determined by them. Nevertheless, the actual reference of a NP depends mostly on its use (a speech act) and varies according to its pragmatic context. Reference and definiteness are mutually related concepts accompanied by pragmatic and semantic implications. I wish to make a critical overview of some proposals in this field of research.

Opis:
The influence of applied loads between 0.09807 N and 0.9807 N on measured values of micro-hardness was evaluated by Meyer’s index n, proportional specimen resistance model (PSR) and Hays – Kendall methods, Total Dispersion Zone and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The measurement was repeated 6 times using the same hardness reference block with standard hardness Hc = 327 HV0.05 as a sample. The influence of the load on the measured value of micro-hardness is statistically significant, and the relationship between applied load and micro-hardness manifests reverse indentation size effect (ISE) for most of “measurements”. The high value of the uncertainty of results can affect the existence and nature of ISE, especially at low loads.

The standardized precipitation index (SPI), standardized reference evapotranspiration index (SEI) and standardized climatic water balance index (SCWBI) were used to analyze moisture conditions in the vegetation seasons of 1954–1995 in Łódź. SPI and SEI were calculated on the assumption that empirical monthly precipitation sums and monthly sums of reference evapotraspiration are gamma distributed. Because monthly sums of climatic water balance are normally distributed, they required standardization to SCWBI. The aim of study was to compare those three indexes (SPI SEI and SCWBI) for years 1954–1995 in Łódź.

Neck circumference (NC) is a marker of upper body subcutaneous adipose tissue distribution. Although it is commonly used in many parts of the world it appears to lack reference values as an indicator of metabolic and cardiovascular risk in the Nigerian population. A total of 2000 apparently healthy adults participated in this study. NC was measured using a non-stretchable tape between the mid-cervical spine and mid-anterior neck of each participant standing upright. In men the NC was measured just below the laryngeal prominence (Adam’s apple). Data was summarized using descriptive and inferential statistics. The alpha level was set at 0.05. The Nigerian men under study had significantly higher NC values than the women (t = 36.986, p = 0.001). The mean values for men and women below 20 years, between 21 and 30 years, 31 and 40 years, 41 and 50 years, and 51 and 60 years old were 37.29 ± 1.96 cm and 32.45 ± 1.84 cm, 37.69 ± 2.16 cm and 33.12 ± 2.52 cm, 37.67 ± 2.25 cm and 32.46 ± 2.24 cm, 38.01 ± 2.49 cm and 33.36 ± 2.67 cm, and 37.59 ± 2.29 cm and 33.14 ± 1.78 cm, respectively. The 95 percentile values for men and women younger than 20 years, 31-40 years, 41-50 years, and 51-60 years were 41cm and 36 cm, 42 cm and 38 cm, 41cm and 37 cm, 43 cm and 39 cm, and 42 cm and 37 cm, respectively. Based on age-and-sex neck circumference reference values, the means and percentiles can be used as indicators of acceptable and abnormal NC values for Nigerian adults between the ages of 18 to 60 years.

Opis:
Both definition and realization of vertical reference systems require gravity. Relation between height changes and gravity changes is well known in geodynamics on local, regional, and global scale. Consideration of time as additional dimension is needed in the modern vertical and gravity reference systems as well as in processing both levelling and gravity data. Classical vertical and gravity reference systems are briefly presented followed by the discussion of the need of advanced modification of both systems. Geodynamic aspects in creating modern vertical and gravity reference systems were discussed. The role of geodynamics in the realization of vertical and gravity reference systems was presented with emphasizing the key role of metrology.

W artykule zbadano metodę statystycznego opracowania losowych nieskorelowanych obserwacji o nieznanych a priori rozkładach prawdopodobieństwa (RP). Metoda polega na równoległym porównaniu uporządkowanych obserwacji z zestawem obserwacji referencyjnych, którymi są wartości przeciętne losowych statystyk pozycyjnych odpowiadających wybranym RP. Przedstawione są wyniki badań metodą Monte-Carlo skuteczności zaproponowanych algorytmów obliczania wyniku pomiaru. Metoda zapewnia mniejsza standardową niepewność wyniku pomiaru w porównaniu z niepewnością wartości średniej.
In the paper the method for statistical processing of random uncorrelated observations of unknown a priori probability density distribution (PDD) of the population is investigated. The method is based on parallel comparison by the weighted least squares method ((1), Fig. 2) of the sorted input observations with the collection of the so-called reference observations (Fig. 1) which are the expected values of order statistics, that correspond to the specified PDD. The results of comparison are the estimators of the location ž (measurement result) and width ? parameters (1) of the input observations. The analysis of the residual sums of squares (RSS) (5, Fig. 3) deviations of the input from the all set reference observations is used for determining the best measurement result. The measurement result according to algorithm A1 is based on determination of the minimum value of all RSS (6, Fig. 3), (7) and according to the algorithm A2 the result is calculated as the weighted mean from all results (8), (9). In this case the weight coefficients are proportional to the inverse values of appropriate RSS. The efficiency of both algorithms is investigated by the Monte-Carlo method. It has been stated that algorithm A1 provides the best (after standard deviation) measurement result if the input observations are obtained from population whose PDD is also used for forming the reference observations (Figs. 4, 5). If the input observations are obtained from population whose PDD is not used for forming the reference observations, then algorithm A2 provides the best results. And both algorithms ensure better measurement results in comparison with the average value (Figs. 4, 5).

Opis:
Research activities of Polish research groups in a period of 2015–2019 on reference frames and reference networks are reviewed and summarised in this paper. The summary contains the results concerning the implementation of latest resolutions on reference systems of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics and the International Union of Astronomy with special emphasis on the changes in the Astronomical Almanac of the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography, Warsaw. It further presents the status of the implementation of the European Terrestrial Reference System 1989 (ETRS89) in Poland, monitoring the terrestrial reference frame, operational work of GNSS permanent IGS/EPN stations in Poland, operational work of the laser ranging station in Poland of the International Laser Ranging Service (ILRS), active GNSS station network for the realization of ETRS89 in Poland, validation of recent ETRS89 realization, expressed in ETRF2000 in Poland, and maintenance of the vertical control in Poland (PL-KRON86-NH). Extensive research activities are observed in the field of maintenance and modernization of gravity control not only in Poland, but also in Sweden and in Denmark, as well as establishment of gravity control in Ireland based on absolute gravity survey. The magnetic control in Poland was also regularly maintained. The bibliography of the related works is given in references.

Opis:
Reduction of this type may help to solve one of the greatest problems in pattern recognition, i.e. the compromise between the time of making a decision and its correctness. In the analysis of biomedical data, classification time is less important than certainty that classification is correct, i.e. that reliability of classification is accepted by the algorithm’s operator. It is usually possible to reduce the number of wrong decisions, using a more complex recognition algorithm and, as a consequence, increasing classification time. However, with a large quantity of data, this time may be considerably reduced by condensation of a set. Condensation of a set presented in this article is incremental, i.e. formation of the condensed reference set begins from a set containing one element. In each step, the size of the set is increased with one object. This algorithm consists in dividing the feature space with hyperplanes determined with pairs of the mutually furthest points. The hyperplanes are orthogonal to segments linking pairs of the mutually furthest points and they go through their centre.

Gazowe mieszaniny wzorcowe są zaliczane do materiałów odniesienia. Wykorzystuje się je przede wszystkim do monitoringu jakości powietrza atmosferycznego oraz identyfikacji występujących w nim zanieczyszczeń. Mogą być one również używane do kalibracji przyrządów pomiarowych. Obecnie dąży się do opracowania nowych technik przygotowywania gazowych mieszanin wzorcowych [1, 2]. W pracy przedstawiono opis konstrukcji oraz zasadę funkcjonowania prototypowego urządzenia przeznaczonego do wytwarzania gazowych mieszanin wzorcowych, którego działanie oparte jest na wykorzystaniu procesów barbotażu oraz permeacji.
Reference gas mixtures are classified to reference materials and are mainly used for quality monitoring and identification of impurities in atmospheric air. They can be also used for calibration of measuring devices. Nowadays, there is a need to develop a new techniques for the preparation of reference gas mixtures [1, 2]. In this paper the design and the operating principles of instrument based on the use of barbotage and permeation processes were presented.

They add “philologism” to his poetry and determine the special ways which the poet uses to create the lyrical subject in his works. The lyrical subject in Loseff's poetry has two hypostases: the one of a poet and the one of a commentator. Lyrical discourse is organically combined with the philological one, and the subject’s selfreflection is combined with meta-reflection of the text.

A variety of reference models such as CMMI, COBIT or ITIL support IT organizations to improve their processes. These process improvement reference models (IRMs) cover different domains such as IT development, IT Services or IT Governance but also share some similarities. As there are organizations that address multiple domains and need to coordinate their processes in their improvement we present MoSaIC, an approach to support organizations to efficiently adopt and conform to multiple IRMs. Our solution realizes a semantic integration of IRMs based on common meta-models. The resulting IRM integration model enables organizations to efficiently implement and asses multiple IRMs and to benefit from synergy effects.

The key objective of no-reference (NR) visual metrics is to predict the end-user experience concerning remotely delivered video content. Rapidly increasing demand for easily accessible, high quality video material makes it crucial for service providers to test the user experience without the need for comparison with reference material. Nevertheless, the QoE measurement is not enough. The information about the source or error is very important as well. Therefore, the described system is based on calculating numerous different NR indicators, which are combined to provide the overall quality score. In this paper, more quality indicators than are used in the QoE calculation are described, since some of them detect specific errors. Such specific errors are dificult to include in a global QoE model but are important from the operation point of view.

The purpose of the article is to indicate the complexity of the store price image – its variously identified dimensions and dynamic character. This topic is extremely important for the effectiveness of brand store management and brand store competitiveness. The fact that the store price image is based on perception rather than reality does not facilitate the process of creating desirable store price image. In the article the results of a literature review are presented, and the final part of the paper contains some practical conclusions. Focusing on this topic is due to the significant changes in the store formats in Polish retailing.Purpose – The purpose of the article is to indicate the complexity of the store price image – its variously identified dimensions and dynamic character. This topic is extremely important for the effectiveness of brand store management.Design/Methodology/Approach – Literature review.Findings – The fact that the store price image is based on perception rather than reality, does not facilitate the process of creating desirable price store image – on the contrary. Proper and effective management of store price image requires a thorough knowledge of price management. So many different aspects are behind this area of marketing activities that managers become necessary to enter into related areas – e.g. consumer behavior psychology. Since the process of shaping the price image by consumers is a dynamic process, the management of price image cannot be perceived as static.Originality/Value – The main value of the article involves indication of complexity of the image price and thus difficulty of managing it. An overview of various approaches to the understanding of the price image, which is presented in the article, can facilitate an extremely demanding process of store price image management. Due to the current changes on the Polish retail market, it seems necessary to update the existing scientific achievements in the field of image price.

Opis:
The problem of determining displacements of objects is an important and current issue, in particular in terms of operational safety. This is a requirement that covers geodetic, periodic control measurements in order to determine horizontal and vertical displacements. The paper is focused on the analysis of vertical displacements. Geodetic measurements and their interpretation allow to reduce the risk of possible structural catastrophes. The major research topic of the majority of available papers is displacement determination of individual controlled points, in a situation where there are identified as fixed reference points. There are cases making identification of such points difficult or impossible to use in displacement analysis. This paper addresses a rare case of determining vertical displacements in unstable reference systems. Due to the fact that most of the existing and known literature methods do not always bring satisfactory results, the paper propose a new method of vertical displacement determination in the absence of reference points in the local coordinate system. Practical considerations on simulated data show that the presented method performs the task correctly.
Problematyka wyznaczania przemieszczeń obiektów jest ważnym zagadnieniem, w szczególności w aspekcie dotyczącym bezpieczeństwa użytkowania obiektu. Zmiany poziomu zwierciadła wody, głębokie wykopy, obciążenie gruntu ciężką budowlą, zużycie konstrukcji na skutek jej eksploatacji to tylko kilka czynników mogących powodować ruchy gruntu i posadowionych na nim obiektów. Konsekwencją ruchów gruntu mogą być przemieszczenia poziome i pionowe. Zatem istotne jest określenie wielkości tych przemieszczeń, na co pozwalają okresowe pomiary kontrolne. W analizie przemieszczeń wyróżnić można układy odniesienia stabilne oraz niestabilne. Praca ta skupia się na wyznaczaniu przemieszczeń pionowych w niestabilnych układach odniesienia, zatem porusza problem, który rzadko prezentowany jest w literaturze przedmiotu.

This article proposes a short analysis regarding the reference of the term de rupture used to name one of the rather atypical uses of the French past tense the imparfait. The author shows that the aforementioned term shouldn’t be considered as a generic one and describes all uses of the French past tense imparfait in which the receiver is directed to see the process as completed and / or having a different temporal reference. The term de rupture, even if its meaning changes depending on the approach chosen, is specialized as a parameter which enables us to distinct two major values of this unusual use of the imparfait. Actually, the latter is described nowadays most commonly as imparfait narratif and is considered as a carrier of various meaning effects.

The aim of this paper is to present the problem of implementation of the Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) tech-nique in positioning of the aircraft in air navigation. The aircraft coordinates were obtained based on Global Positioning System (GPS) code observations for DGPS method. The DGPS differential corrections were transmitted from reference station REF1 to airborne receiver using Ultra High Frequency (UHF) radio modem. The airborne Thales Mobile Mapper receiver was mounted in the cabin in Cessna 172 aircraft. The research test was conducted around the military aerodrome EPDE in Dęblin in Poland. In paper, the accuracy of aircraft positioning using DGPS technique is better than 1.5 m in geocentric XYZ frame and ellipsoidal BLh frame, respectively. In addition, the obtained accu-racy of aircraft positioning is in agreement with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Required Navigation Performance (RNP) technical standards for departure phase of aircraft. The presented research method can be utilised in Ground-Based Augmentation System (GBAS) in air transport. In paper, also the accuracy results of DGPS method from flight test in Chełm are presented. The mean values of accuracy amount to ±1÷2 m for horizontal plane and ±4÷5 m for vertical plane.

In this paper we present RefGen, a reference chains identification module for French. RefGen algorithm uses genre specific properties of reference chains and an accessibility measure to find the mentions of the referred entity. The module applies strong and weak constraints (lexical, morpho-syntactic, and semantic) to automatically identify coreference relations between referential expressions. We evaluate the results obtained by RefGen from a public reports corpus and we discuss the importance of the genre-dependent parameters to improve the reference chains identification.

Since the first edition of this reference was published 25 years ago much has taken place in the polygraph field, progress which has continued in the decade since the last edition of the Terminology Reference. The transition from analog to digital polygraph is now complete, the polygraph profession has accomplished the shift from authority-based practices to those that are evidence-based, concepts and terms adopted by the polygraph field are substantially more mainstream, new credibility assessment technologies have appeared while others have disappeared, and much to the surprise of critics and detractors, predictions of the demise of the polygraph have proven to be premature. In this fourth edition of the Terminology Reference for the Science of Psychophysiological Detection of Deception we strived to capture these changes. We have updated the references, added new terms, removed others, and included images for some terms to help readers understand them better. We hope readers appreciate these updates. And finally, we sadly report the passing of our friend, colleague and contributor to previous editions of this work, Shirley Sturm in 2020. Shirley was one of the greats in the polygraph field. She was the first woman President of the American Polygraph Association, a teacher, a coveted mentor, and a fiercely independent thinker. We and the rest of the polygraph field will miss Shirley, her sense of humor, her passion for polygraph, her concern for her fellow practitioners, her commitment to the field. There was always only one Shirley Sturm and we were fortunate to have known her. Because of her lasting contribution to our shared field of endeavor we dedicate this edition of the Terminology Reference to Shirley Sturm.

Idea metody BIPOLAR polega na tym, że warianty decyzyjne nie są porównywane bezpośrednio ze sobą a z zestawami rozwiązań wskazanych jako referencyjne. Takie porównanie umożliwia sprawdzenie czy istnieją przesłanki do uznania danego wariantu za mający przewagę nad każdym z pozostałych. Zbiór rozwiązań nazywa się zbiorem punktów referencyjnych, który zawiera rozwiązania dobre i złe. Metoda BIPOLAR uwzględnia wszystkie etapy procesu decyzyjnego: wybór kryteriów oraz określenie ich wag, modelowanie preferencji decydentów, wybór właściwego wariantu decyzyjnego na podstawie rankingu.
Bipolar is one of the Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) methods, proposed by E. Konarzewska-Gubała. The main idea of the analysis in the Bipolar method consists in a fact that alternatives are not compared directly to each other, but they are confronted to the two sets of reference objects: good and bad. Some alternatives can be evaluated as over good, i.e. better than at least one of desirable reference object or underbid, i.e. worse than at least of one nonacceptable object. Proposed method takes into account all stages of the decision-making process, starting with the selection of criteria and determining their weights, by modeling the preferences of decision-makers, on obtaining recommendations in the form of a ranking of decision-making variants. The BIPOLAR method has been used to select suppliers of food products for retail stores. Comparison of decision variants with a reference set is carried out on similar principles as in the ELCTRE method, in which the basic principle is to compare each variant with all others. Such a comparison makes it possible to check if there are grounds for considering a given variant to have an advantage over each of the others.
