    Przygotowany referat omawia tematykę sterowania ruchem oraz priorytetu dla komunikacji miejskiej w Krakowie na wybranym odcinku. Pokrótce została omówiona problematyka wpływu transportu indywidualnego na transport zbiorowy na obszarze miasta Krakowa, oraz przedstawiono zastosowane systemy obszarowego sterowania ruchem. Analizie poddano ciąg komunikacyjny wzdłuż Alei Pokoju pod kątem obecnie stosowanych koncepcji sterowania sygnalizacją, a następnie opracowano model mikrosymulacji w programie Aimsun. Wyniki symulacji zaprezentowano w postaci kilku wariantów umożliwiających poprawę funkcjonowania komunikacji miejskiej na omawianym odcinku.
    The article is about traffic control and priority for public transport in Cracow on a selected segment. The issue of the influence of individual transport on public transport in Cracow and local Urban Traffic Control System were introduced. The communication segment along the Aleja Pokoju was analyzed in terms of currently used signal control concepts, and then a model of microsimulation has been developed in the Aimsun software. The results of the simulation were presented in the form of several variants to allow improvement of the functioning of public transport on the discussed segment.

Wdrożenie BRT połączone jest z osiąganiem istotnych korzyści, do których należą: szybkość realizacji inwestycji na etapie projektowania i wykonawstwa, w porównaniu z innymi rodzajami transportu, stosunkowo niskie koszty inwestycji i koszty eksploatacji, a także możliwość połączenia z już istniejącą siecią drogową, co wykazano w publikacji.
    The article presents the Bus Rapid Transit System. It’s an innovative transport solution, implemented in many urban aglomerations. BRT solutions in the world have been characterized. Key BRT indicators have been identified.

    Natural riffles are formed as a result of fluvial processes in the stream channel, water flow, and sediment movement. In recent years, artificial riffles have also been constructed in order to improve the water flow and sediment transport as well as to initiate the processes that lead to the restoration of natural riffle–pool sequences. In river engineering, the utilization of artificial riffles (rapid hydraulic structures) is still in its experimental stage. Artificial riffles are studied and described in the literature on a case study basis. However, the studies on riffle sequences and their effects on stream channel evolution need to be improved. A system of artificial riffles was created in the mouth section of Krzczonówka Stream in 2013. The new riffles made the stream channel more morphologically diverse and also reduced its longitudinal slope. The check dam on the stream, located upstream of the newly formed riffles, was renovated and lowered in 2014. At this time, a flood occurred and released a large mass of sediment downstream of the check dam. Then, the sediment settled in the sections between the artificial riffles, thus covering some of them. The aim of the study was to examine the effect of the system of riffles on the changes in sediment transport and water flow in the studied stream channel. Calculations indicate that the system of riffles established downstream of the check dam has limited the movement of sediment. The sediment transport is varied throughout the studied stream course and is mostly dependent on the sediment supply.

    This article examines the station names of 142 Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) stations across Singapore’s five fully operational MRT lines using primary sources (digitised newspapers, maps, and press releases) and secondary sources (scholarly research on Singapore place names and information from government agencies). There are two research objectives: firstly, to determine the common naming strategies of Singapore’s MRT station names, and secondly, to analyse features of Singapore’s socio-political and linguistic identity by studying these names. Common naming patterns of Singapore’s station names include associative names, where the station is named after nearby physical or man-made features; descriptive names, where the name describes a particular aspect of the area; and eponymous names, where the station is named after a famous person or entity. We argue that station names reflect the state’s language and socio-political policies and shed deeper light on some of the complex and contradictory forces at play in the nation’s linguistic and socio-political identity. Singapore’s language shift towards English is evident as English is frequently used to name stations, particularly among newer MRT lines, where the public can suggest and vote on station names. At the same time, there are toponyms in local languages like Malay that serve as indexes of localness of the area around the station, showing the cultural dimension that station names have as metaphors for the area’s history and heritage. Yet, Singapore’s pragmatic socio-political identity ultimately means that the practical, referential function of names takes precedence over the cultural functions of naming.

    Systemy „szybkiego autobusu”, „metrobusu”, czyli systemy Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), są nadal mało znane w Polsce, mimo iż na świecie odnoszą sukcesy. Jest to o tyle niezrozumiałe, że prowadzone analizy (m.in. w Płocku, Poznaniu) dają obiecujące wyniki. Autorzy artykułu przedstawiają specyficzne podejście do modelowania i planowania systemu BRT na podstawie wymienionych przykładów. Próbują rozwiać wątpliwości związanie z sposobem odwzorowania systemu BRT w modelu popytu i podaży. W artykule starają się wyjaśnić przyczynę wysokich wskaźników analizy ekonomicznej uzyskiwanych przez planowane systemy BRT. Swoje rozważania ilustrują przykładami funkcjonujących systemów BRT na całym świecie.
    Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems are still poorly recognized in Poland, although successful in the world. It is incomprehensible specially in the referrence to the conducted analysis (e.g. in Płock, Poznań) which give promising results. Authors present a specific approach to modelling and planning the BRT system on the basis of listed examples. Implementations and methods of projection of the BRT system in the model of supply and demand have been presented. Authors attempt to explain reasons of high rates of economic analysis results generated by the planned BRT systems. Deliberations are illustrated with examples of operating BRT systems in the world.

    It is difficult to organize urban transport in the city center. Existing buildings, narrow streets and working infrastructure make it difficult to use the oldfashion transport means such as trams or buses. The new idea consists in elevation of the transport in the very city above ground level (typical PRT systems cover rare areas like airport or fairgrounds). The study analyzes the hierarchical, layered system consisting of a ring light rail and PRT (Personal Rapid Transit) serving as commuter network. It is shown in the case of an exemplary city that the proposed solution is possible and reasonable. Ridership and vehicle mileage of the entire system are calculated for the light rail analytically, and in the case PRT by simulation.

    Głównym celem artykułu jest przybliżenie koncepcji BRT (ang. Bus Rapid Transit) i próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy tego typu rozwiązania mogą zostać w najbliższej przyszłości zastosowane w polskich miastach. Podjęcie tego tematu wynika z rosnącego zainteresowania dużych ośrodków budową nowoczesnych sieci transportowych, które jednocześnie nie pochłoną znacznych środków finansowych. W pierwszej części artykułu szczegółowo przedstawiono obecne w literaturze definicje BRT, a także przybliżono różne podtypy tych systemów. Wiele miejsca poświęcono również opisaniu elementów charakterystycznych dla BRT. Końcowy fragment stanowi analiza możliwości i zasadności wprowadzania tego typu rozwiązań w polskich miastach. Artykuł nie daje jednak jednoznacznej odpowiedzi i sugeruje konieczność szczegółowej analizy konkretnych przypadków. Obok zalet systemów BRT ukazuje również szereg wad tego środka transportu, a także zwraca uwagę na niebezpieczeństwa związane z możliwością stosowania rozwiązań pośrednich i budowy „pseudo-systemów BRT”.
    The main objective of the article is to present the concept of the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) and to answer the question: can such solutions be used in the near future in Polish cities? We could see the growing interest of this concept in the urban areas which authorities are looking for new, both cheap and modern transport solutions. In the first part of the article the definition of the BRT was presented and different types of systems were described. Characteristics of the BRT systems have been carefully presented. Final part of the article refers to the possibility of implementing a new public transport system in Polish cities. Many factors and conditions make the answer difficult to obtain so that each case study has to be analyzed and considered separately. Beside advantages, a lot of weaknesses have been indicated. At the end the risk of creating pseudo BRT systems has been highlighted.

    Nowadays, with highly developed instrumentation, sensing and actuation technologies it is possible to foresee an important advance in the field of autonomous and semi-autonomous transportation systems. Among the most promising transport infrastructures the articulated bus is an interesting, low cost and friendly option. In this paper an experimental set-up for research on automatic control of articulated bus is presented. Comprised by a mobile platform (the articulated bus) fully instrumented and a ground test area of asphalt roads inside CSIC premises, this experimental facility allows full testing of automatic driving systems. Paper presents obtained experimental results linked to real time testing of proposed control-perception architectures and a human-machine-interface developed to ease progress in control system evaluation.

    Celem badań była analiza i ocena potencjału i wykorzystania komunikacji miejskiej w północnych dzielnicach Gdyni, w kontekście perspektyw rozwoju Szybkiej Kolei Miejskiej. Może ona pełnić rolę alternatywnego środka transportu publicznego mającego zmniejszyć obciążenie obecnie wykorzystywanej infrastruktury drogowej. Jest to szczególnie ważne zagadnienie z uwagi na dużą wrażliwość głównego ciągu komunikacyjnego niniejszych dzielnic na wszelkie utrudnienia ruchu, która prowadzi do powstawania kongestii na znacznym obszarze, przy jednoczesnym braku alternatywnych tras przemieszczania się oraz środków transportu niewrażliwych na to zjawisko. W artykule przedstawiono istniejący stan zagospodarowania oraz dostępności komunikacyjnej północnych dzielnic Gdyni wraz z analizą i oceną bieżącej dostępności tych dzielnic, przy wykorzystaniu komunikacji miejskiej.
    Main purpose of the study was analysis and assess the potential and usage of public transport in nothern districts of Gdynia, in the context of prospects for the development of the Rapid City Railway. It can serve as an alternative means of public transport which can reduce traffic on currently used roads. This is particularly important issue because of the high sensitivity of the main communication routes of these districts to any traffic impediments that lead to congestion in a large area, with no alternative routes of travel and modes of transport not affected by road traffic. The article presents current state of spatial development and communication accessibility of the this districts of Gdynia, along with analysis and evaluation of the proposed solutions for extending the public railway transport to this area, as well as creating connections with the rest of the city.

    Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) is a promising form of urban transport. Its operation relies on the use of small unmanned vehicles which carry the passengers between the stations within a dedicated network. Various aspects of the PRT network performance are frequently evaluated using the discrete-event simulation. The paper supports the need of establishing some reference models for the simulation of PRT networks, targeted mainly at the needs of the research on the network management algorithms. Three models of such PRT network models are proposed and discussed. The presented models can play the role of benchmarks which would be very useful for comparative evaluation of heuristic control algorithms, developed by different research groups.
    Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) jest obiecującą formą transportu miejskiego. Jego działanie opiera się na wykorzystaniu małych bezzałogowych pojazdów, które przewożą pasażerów między stacjami w sieci dedykowanej. Różne aspekty wydajności sieci PRT są często oceniane przy użyciu symulacji dyskretnego zdarzenia. Artykuł popiera potrzebę ustanowienia kilku modeli referencyjnych do symulacji sieci PRT, ukierunkowanych głównie na potrzeby badań nad algorytmami zarządzania siecią. Proponowane i omawiane są trzy modele takich sieci PRT. Prezentowane modele mogą pełnić rolę wzorców, które byłyby bardzo przydatne do oceny porównawczej heurystycznych algorytmów sterowania, opracowanych przez różne grupy badawcze.

    W artykule przedstawiono analizę informatycznego systemu sterowania i zarządzania ruchem PRT (ang. Personal Rapid Transit). Zdefiniowano pojęcie systemu PRT, przeprowadzono przegląd tych systemów oraz ich struktury. Dokonano genezy zastosowania systemów informatycznych sterowania i zarządzania ruchem PRT. Opisano układy mechaniczne i ergonomiczne dedykowanych pojazdów. Scharakteryzowano strukturę układu jezdnego oraz ergonomię kabin pojazdu PRT. Opisano proces szacowania warunków ruchu oraz dokonano symulacji przykładowych pojazdów. Dokonano analizę systemu PRT, którego celem jest określenie optymalnej liczby stacji PRT gwarantujących optymalne zapewnienie usługi, pod względem natężenia popytu na usługi PRT. Zilustrowano etapy projektowania systemu cyrkulacji PRT dla dzielnic na obrzeżach miasta. Posłużono się narzędziem informatycznym programu OPTIMAL (C-CAD).
    The paper presented the PRT (Personal Rapid Transit) control and traffic management system. The genesis of the use of information systems for control and PRT traffic management was made. The concept of the PRT system was defined, a review of these systems and their structure was carried out. The mechanical and ergonomic systems of PRT vehicles have been described. The chassis structure and the ergonomics of the PRT vehicle cabs have been characterized. The process of estimating traffic conditions and simulations of exemplary PRT vehicles have been described. An analysis of the PRT system was carried out, the purpose of which is to determine the optimal number of PRT stations guaranteeing optimal service provision, in terms of the demand for PRT services. The stages of designing the PRT circulation system for districts on the outskirts of the city are illustrated. The OPTIMAL program tool (C-CAD) has been used.
