Opis:
The purpose of this article is to suggest tools of inventory management which would determine economically optimal order quantities. One of them is based on the so-called fixed order quantity model which takes into account several elements of inventory cost, such as ordering cost, transportation and storing cost, frozen capital cost, as well as extra discounts. The tool is based on fuzzy concepts represented by Ordered Fuzzy Numbers. The second tool takes into account the dynamics and works on the basis of replenishment system. This tool can be treated as a kind of controller. Examples of using this tools are presented.

Opis:
Remanufacturing is a process of recapturing value from returned products. Whole products are brought back to like-new condition. The seven factors, that make production planning and process control for remanufacturing more complicated then equivalent activities in normal manufacturing, had been proposed in literature. The main one is the uncertain timing and quantity of returns. There is a lack of reliability based forecasting models to better predict products life-cycles, return rates and quantities. Only one reliability based production planning method for remanufacturing had been proposed. It identifies two return reasons and it is appropriate only for single-use products. In practice most of products are serviced and return only in specific cases. In this article seven different return reasons has been identified and third one has been investigated. Other will be studied in future papers.

Several operational quantities have appeared in the literature characterizing upper semi-Fredholm operators. Here we show that these quantities can be divided into three classes, in such a way that two of them are equivalent if they belong to the same class, and are comparable and not equivalent if they belong to different classes. Moreover, we give a similar classification for operational quantities characterizing lower semi-Fredholm operators.

Improper planning of inventory will affect the factory operating costs, building costs, the cost of loss, and the cost of product defects due to being stored for too long which will eventually become a loss. This research discusses the processing industry which is experiencing lumpy demand. In carrying out the production process, the company has never made plans for future demand, resulting in a waste of message costs due to repeated orders of raw materials ordered to suppliers. This paper contributes to overcoming this issue by simulating future demand by using the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) method with a probabilistic Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and Periodic Order Quantity (POQ) model. The demand in the coming period is determined using the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) method, and an aggregate plan is carried out to determine the regular cost of raw material production and optimal subcontracting. The final analysis states that the calculation of MRP on the selected items using POQ produces the lowest cost for planning S45C-F, SGT-R, and SKD11-R, while SLD-R uses the probabilistic EOQ method.

Celem pracy jest określenie wpływu wybranych czynników społeczno-ekonomicznych oraz czynników związanych z infrastrukturą danego obszaru na zmiany ilościwytwarzanych odpadów w poszczególnych powiatach województwa podlaskiego.W pracy przestawiono zmiany ilości odpadów komunalnych w woj. podlaskim. Analizy przeprowadzone zostały odrębnie dla każdego powiatu, co umożliwiło ocenę zachodzących zmian pomiędzy poszczególnymi rejonami oraz odniesienie uzyskanych rezultatów do skali województwa. Do badań przyjęto przedział czasowy 2001-2008. Jako narzędzie badawcze wykorzystano m.in. pakiet Statistica za pomocą którego ustalono kierunek oraz siłę oddziaływania miedzy wybranymi czynnikami społeczno-ekonomicznymi i ilością odpadów, opisano zależności miedzy ilością odpadów a jednym lub więcej czynnikami, przeanalizowano struktury w uzyskanych danych i oceniono wpływ wybranych czynników na zmiany ilości odpadów komunalnych w poszczególnych powiatach woj. podlaskiego.Uzyskane rezultaty wskazały na zróżnicowanie dynamiki zmian ilości odpadów w poszczególnych jednostkach administracyjnych analizowanego województwa. W celu określenia wpływu wybranych czynników społeczno-ekonomicznych na ilość wytworzonych odpadów posłużono się metodą analizy czynnikowej. Wyodrębnione w trakcie badań czynniki pozwoliły na określenie udziału badanych zmiennych w zmianach ilości odpadów. Ponadto obliczone średnie wartości czynników umożliwiły ocenę siły ich oddziaływania w poszczególnych powiatach województwa.
The aim of the paper is assessment of influence of chosen the socio-economical factors as well as the factors connected with infrastructure on change of waste in individual administrative districts of podlaskie province. In paper a changes of municipal wastes quantity during eight years (2001-2008) was presented. The analysis were conducted for every administrative district separately, which made possible the estimation of changes taking place among individual regions as well as the reference of obtained results to scale of province. As a investigation tool was used the Statistica packet. It allows the evaluation of direction and interaction strength between the analysed factors as well as structure analyses of obtained results and assessment of influence selected factors on waste quantity changes in each individual regions of province. The obtained results showed on differentiation in dynamics of changes of waste quantity for individual administrative districts of analysed province. Factors selected during investigations allow on evaluation of participation of each variables in waste changing process. Moreover, the calculation the averages value of factors made possible to assess the strength of their influence in individual administrative districts of province.

Prace terminologiczne w dziedzinie metrologii budzą szerokie zainteresowanie i liczba chętnych do uczestnictwa w nich jest duża. Wynika to zapewne z chęci uporządkowania pojęć i terminów, które występują w prowadzonych pracach oraz w literaturze - metrologia jest nauką obecną w bardzo licznych zastosowaniach praktycznych, a to sprzyja powstawaniu terminologii środowiskowych. Być może zachętą jest tu też czasem pozorna łatwość zagadnień terminologicznych - można ulec złudzeniu, że prace terminologiczne dotyczą w gruncie rzeczy słownictwa, a tutaj wszyscy chętni do zabrania głosu czują się jednakowo predestynowani. Bywa, niestety, że dyskusje terminologiczne nabierają cech płytkich sporów o znaczenie słów i sformułowań, w których pojawiają się argumenty pozamerytoryczne. Czasem też pojawia się postulat, że terminologia powinna być prosta i „zrozumiała dla praktyków”, a nawet, że niektóre terminy są tak proste i oczywiste, że sens prac terminologicznych jest w odniesieniu do nich wątpliwy. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na złożoność jednego z podstawowych pojęć metrologii, jakim jest 'wielkość'. Pokazano zatem, jakie były początki procesu jego kształtowania się, aspekty, w jakich pojęcie to można rozważać, i jego uniwersalny charakter.
In the paper, various aspects are considered of the concept 'quantity'. Besides the concept 'measure' it is one of the fundamental notions in metrology. The earliest times of the art of measurement are recalled and it is quick development is mentioned. Described is the impact of the ancient science on the development of the theory of measurement. Way to the concept 'quantity' is shortly reviewed and its relation with the concept 'measure' is considered. Analogies between the quantities pertaining to different phenomena are reviewed.

It contains corpus-based analysis of lectures, which were published on web page gewiss.uni-leipzig.de. In this study the function of vowel extension is established. Furthermore, the author of this article has attempted to answer the question, if vowel extensions are accompanied by focus accents.

Opis:
A special group of hybrid assisted processes termed media-assisted processes which apply liquid media with special additives in the form of nanoparticles supplied to the cutting zone is overviewed. Special attention is paid to minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) technique with the use of nanofluids. In this review paper some important thermal and tribological effects resulting from the applications of various nanoparticles are outlined and compared. The MQL-nano cutting fluid mechanisms (rolling and ploughing) are described. In particular, some important quantitative effects concerning thermal and tribological behaviour of the cutting process as well as surface quality are presented.

The case whereby the transmission coefficient through a barrier, sandwiched by semiconductor reservoirs, under bias is provided by a general formula involving the logarith micwave function derivative at the barrier entrance is now extended to include the influence of magnetic field perpendicular to the longitudinal barrier direction. Under the circumstances, theequation governing the logarithmic wave function derivative is appropriately modified via aneffective potential energy which takes account of the magnetic field. Subsequently, the procedurefor obtaining the transmission coefficient is applied to the case involving a smooth double, as wellas quadruple, barrier for which theI-V characteristic is obtained. The results show reduction incurrent with increase in the magnetic field, up to a certain value of bias. Furthermore, increasein temperature exhibits increase in current as well as movement of the current peaks in the I-V curves towards lower bias.

The continuity of sediment transport in many catchment-river-sea systems worldwide has been disturbed by anthropogenic interferences. These interferences alter the sediment balance and result either in a surplus or lack of sediment, and with mostly negative, impacts to the economy, development and infrastructure, and environment. The main issues discussed related to surplus or lack of sediment belongs to: i) siltation of reservoirs with negative effects on hydropower production or water storage, and ii) erosion at downstream reaches where sediments are essential for channel formation and aquatic habitats. Both problems are recognized in Poland, however, only dealt with when they cause local economic problems. The paper focuses on examples of sustainable sediment managements in catchment-river-sea systems, and presents the idea of combining the Macromodel DNS with the SWAT module. The resulting modelling and analytical tool can be considered very valuable in sediment quantity management.

Opis:
Applicability of a fuzzy approach to a problem originating from administrative accounting, namely to determine an economic order quantity (EOQ) in a variable competitive environment with imprecise and vague data, has been presented. For this purpose, the model of ordered fuzzy numbers developed by the first author and his two co-workers is used. The present approach generalizes the one developed within the framework of convex fuzzy numbers and stays outside the probabilistic one.

The article addresses the application of non-classical operational calculus to approximative solutions of engineering problems. The engineering-sound examples show that a continuous–discrete problem transformation from differential unequivocal problem to a differential wildcard problem, triggering a change in solution quality. A number of approximative methods are capable to alter both quantitative and qualitative solution effects.

An understanding of the philosophical genus contributes to the perfection of the act of the philosophical habit of the human soul because reality is constituted by a multitude of overlapping genera. Because genera are constituted by a multitude of species unequally related to their generic aim, St. Thomas’s teaching on virtual quantity facilitates an understanding of the diversity of being. Analogy is an act of judgment that expresses an unequally proportionate relationship between beings. Like genus, analogy has to do with a multitude of beings unequally related to a primary subject; as such, analogy is the language of philosophy. To see ‘a city come into being in speech’ in Book II of The Republic is to be trained to observe the relation between real beings, to make correct judgments about those relationships, and to thereby be properly oriented toward reality.
