The article is devoted to evaluation of criteria and indicators of the measuring of university education quality. On the basis of an expert interview of the teaching/academic staff of the Institute of Human Sciences of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, three main criteria were identified (resourses of educational activities, organization of educational activities, the results of specialist training) and their indicators (the level of teaching/academic staff, students as subjects of education, material base, information and methodological support, technologies of training and education, presentation of educational achievements, competitiveness of graduates at the job market, professional achievements of graduates). The proposed criteria and indicators of the quality of education measuring made it possible to evaluate a methodology of measuring/monitoring of university education quality, which is the innovation of our research. A wheel model, whose rung is a criterion indicator, was included in the basis of the methodology of measuring/monitoring of the quality of education. Each rung is also a separate indicator measuring scale and it is divided into ten conditional labels.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of the article is the analysis of tutoring as a method of education based on the master-student relationship, at universities as an element of building social capital. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: One of the current higher education problems is the lack of a coherent system and culture of social capital development. It could be strengthenedby using tutoring, an innovative method of learning, shaping the master-student relationship. The study has a theoretical and analytical character. The descriptive case study was used as theapplied method. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: Firstly, the concept of social capital and its importance for education will be approximated. Next, an attempt will be made to describe a case study of particularuniversity in terms of implementing the tutoring principles. In this context, the importance of tutoring for building social capital will be analysed. RESEARCH RESULTS: An analysis of the example of tutoring at the University of Gdańsk will allow to refer to the importance of the role played by tutoring in building social capital. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Tutoring supports developing social competencies and teaching the tutored students how to express their own opinions, to accept the interlocutor’s arguments and refer to them. In order to be able to work on their own and establish a close relationship with the tutor, the students must be self-motivated and focused on self-development.

The article analyses requirements of new methods of student education at the level of secondary school with professional electrical and electronic focus. It describes the creation of a new teaching aid that incites fantasy, concentration and motivation to create interesting things by self competence of students oriented to the electrical field of study. At the same time it orientates students towards unconventional ways of thinking and non orthodox solutions. Teaching aid exploits digital form that is attractive for young people with the aspiration to focus the attention of students to study professional knowledge.

The quality of education is increasingly being measured less by the knowledge gained during schooling and more by the level of competence possessed by students at doing a particular job after completing their education. Target and process-planned curricula are being replaced more and more by competenceoriented curricula, especially in science and technology education, where competences, generally defined as the ability of an individual to do a job properly, are placed at the forefront. In these, skills are not understood primarily as cognitive skills (e.g. critical thinking), but mostly as skills in connection to psychomo torics. If competence is the desired criterion for educational quality, it can be easily established that suitable instruments and methods of measurement are needed for this kind of quality evaluation, which, however, are not yet available. This is why in the field of competences a special unified competences taxonomy was developed, based on different taxonomies for the cognitive and also affective and psychomotor fields. Additionally, suitable instrumentation was developed in this study. Its use was demonstrated in the example of elementary education in Slovenia in the field of science and technology education.

Subject and purpose of work: The subject of the study is the cooperation of secondary vocational schools (technical secondary schools) with institutions of the local environment and its impact on the improvement of the quality of education. The aim of the work is to identify the main results of the school's cooperation with its immediate environment. An important element of the analysis is to find answers to several problematic questions, such as: What institutions and organizations do vocational schools cooperate with? What activities are undertaken in cooperation with institutions and organizations? What educational benefits do school students get from cooperation? Materials and methods: The article uses a diagnostic survey method, an observation method, an inductive-deductive method, an interview and a literature review. The survey conducted among students and teachers of a selected secondary school made it possible to obtain information on the forms of cooperation with the local community and its impact on the processes taking place at school, in particular on the didactic and educational process. Results: The school teaching staff members see the need for active cooperation with the local community because entities from the school's environment can complement the didactic and educational activities. Therefore, numerous and varied forms of cooperation are undertaken, which, in the opinion of students, bring many benefits related to extending knowledge, improving professional skills and social competences. Conclusions: The cooperation of the school with the local community leads to the improvement of the quality of education, both in the area of didactics and education, as well as modernization of the didactic base and promotion of the school. It is advisable to consciously shape the cooperation by the school management.

Benchmarking is a method of finding the best patterns and using them in your own actions. In the process of improving the classes, it is necessary to analyze the educational process and to identify areas of improvement. The aim of the study has been to get acquainted with the students' opinion about the quality of education and the possibility of improving the classes using the e-learning platform. Based on the literature review and the authors’ experience supported by the results of a survey conducted among students, the necessity of improving e-learning in the teaching process at the public university was justified.

The quality of education in higher education concerns both the process of education and higher education as a good produced as a result of education processes. In the last several dozen years, the quality of education has become a major issue dealt with as part of public policy in the area of higher education both in the dimension of particular countries participating in the Bologna Process, and in the European Higher Education Area. As a result, social sciences have shown more interest in education processes in higher education, with managing the quality of education becoming one of the ideas central to the matter. Studies into the quality of education are conducted nowadays by representatives of many social sciences, adopting many different research approaches. The research approach proposed in this article refers to the organisational game concept and draws on the assumptions and the notional apparatus of the so-called decision-making approach as regards making public decisions. A particular assumption that has been made is that the activity of entities involved in the process of education and performing different roles therein (public authorities, higher education institutions and their associations, accreditation agencies and other institutions assessing the quality of higher education, the so-called stakeholders of higher education institutions) can be described and explained as decisions of players playing multiplayer and multilevel games for the organisation of education processes and for higher education. Games for education processes and for higher education are currently played not only in the hierarchical structure of the state, but also in a broader organisational perspective, which is the European Higher Education Area. Managing the quality of education in this area is not controlled top-down, and involves mainly arranging some binding and guiding institutional solutions which are to lead to an increased competitiveness of education processes and higher education offered by European higher education institutions.

This paper discusses the research results and reflection on competences, especially didactic competences of geography teachers and candidates for geography teachers in the aspect of challenges which education faces nowadays. The most important challenges are: the high quality of the process of training, innovation and the necessity to adjust to constantly changing requirements of the job market. The author of this article has for over ten years conducted research on geography teacher-trainees’ development of subject competence and didactic competence. Personal and interpersonal competencies graduates of higher education significantly affect his chances in the labour market. A profile of the graduate should also help potential employers choose competent employees. Author of this paper believes that the acquisition of the appropriate competences by geography students – candidates for teachers constitutes the most important element in professional training of the future teacher including a geography teacher.

In the last twenty years the number of students and universities in Poland has increased more than four times. This quantitative increase has meant for the didactics of mathematics the need to reduce the level of education. Currently, this upward trend is in reverse and the higher education sector, practically in all Europe, can expect reductions. The current efforts of policy makers and academic staff are focused on improving the quality of education in order – among other reasons – to stay competitive. Shifting focus from quantity and efficiency to quality of education can be an opportunity but also a threat. The problem is how to understand the quality of education and how it can be put into pedagogical practice. Maths education has its own specific conditions. Taking them into account may result not only in improving the quality of didactics of mathematics, but more widely – improving the quality of what is understood as the process of higher education. The article gives an overview of the changes taking place in the Polish higher education sector over the last two decades and of the various definitions of the quality of education. It also presents some conclusions on the relation between the interpretation of the quality of education and didactics of mathematics.

Opis:

Tutoring as a teaching method is associated with the most prestigious European universities. More and more Polish universities decide to implement tutoring recognizing it as a way to create the image of an institution whose objective is to treat students subjectively and care about the quality of education. It is also a great method of improving talents and developing students’ and teachers’ academic potential. On one hand it is a method representing the elite personalized education; however, on the other hand, by means of providing the appropriate organizational conditions, it would also supplement the current educational process, which is typical for the mass education. The article presents the specific nature of the academic tutoring in terms of benefits that it would bring to the university, teachers and students. On the basis of the qualitative data collected during interviews with 15 participating in the program students from four Polish higher educational institutions, the program specificity and elements that, in students’ opinion, influence the program effectiveness were presented. The elements are as follows: relational nature of tutoring, tutor’s personality and classes in the form of individual meetings. Quoted comments indicate the effectiveness of this method, both in the context of students’ ability to be familiarized with the appropriate knowledge but also in the context of developing students’ communicative competence, ability to learn as well as increasing their motivation for learning. For teachers, tutoring is an opportunity to develop their didactic competence, to get rid of the academic routine, a chance to teach on the basis of constructing a good relationship with a student. For the university, tutoring is an opportunity to improve the quality of education and to implement methods of personalized education, which is associated with elite education and the best foreign universities.

Opis:

The concept of the quality of consumer products and services is fairly well defined. Although today quality of life, including quality of education and training, is a commonly discussed topic, one has to admit that the evaluation system of educational processes and the quality of work of educational institutions is surprisingly low. At the same time, the modernization processes in the system of universities forces basing development decisions , including funding, on achieved indicators of work effects of universities. Existing, domestic and international, external and internal quality assurance systems of university work have been criticized for arbitrariness, unilateralism (eg. the criteria exclusively on the results of teaching, or solely on the results of research), ambiguity of the methodology, unreliability of sources of used data, etc. This means that further inquiry to identify their strengths and weaknesses as well as the directions of their consolidation in the complex policy tool for scientific, educational and social decisions is necessary.

Cel badań. Celem artykułu jest próba wskazania, jak socjologiczno-ekonomiczne czynniki warunkują współczesną edukację akademicką w Polsce. Obecnie wiele szkół wyższych i uniwersytetów masowo kształci społeczeństwo, tracąc przy tym swoją elitarność i prestiż. Na skutek dokonujących się przeobrażeń edukacja stała się „produktem” współczesności. Zmiana postrzegania edukacji zarówno przez młodsze, jak i starsze pokolenia nasuwa pytanie – czy współczesna edukacja to próba przetrwania? Metoda badań. W pracy wykorzystano wyniki badań uzyskane w 2011 i 2017 roku przez Centrum Badania Opinii Społecznej na temat kształcenia wyższego oraz wyniki badań własnych przeprowadzonych w 2018 roku wśród studentów różnych kierunków, na podstawie których przedstawiono obraz szkolnictwa wyższego w Polsce w opinii społecznej. Wyniki. Na gruncie przeprowadzonych rozważań teoretycznych i empirycznych ukazano, jakie są uwarunkowania współczesnej edukacji oraz przedstawiono opinię badanych osób na temat edukacji wyższej. Kształcenie na tym szczeblu stało się masowe, dostępne dla wszystkich, tracąc przy tym dotychczasową elitarność. Wnioski. Przeprowadzona analiza teoretyczna oraz analiza wyników badań własnych, jak i wtórnych jednoznacznie pokazuje, że współczesna edukacja boryka się z wieloma problemami, które pogarszają jakość i wizerunek nauczania na szczeblu wyższym.
Purpose of research. The aim of the article is an attempt to indicate how socio-economic factors condition modern academic education in Poland. Currently, many universities and higher education institutes engaged in mass social education are losing their elite status and prestige. As a result of socio-economic transformations education is now become a contemporary ‘product’. Changing the perception of education by both younger and older generations raises the question – is contemporary education an attempt to survive? Test method. The study uses the results of research obtained in 2011 and 2017 by the Center for Public Opinion Research on higher education, and the results of the author’s own research carried out in 2018 among students of various courses, on the basis of which an image of higher education in Poland according to public opinion is presented. Results. On the basis of the theoretical and empirical analysis, the conditions of contemporary education and the opinion of those surveyed about education are presented. Education has become a mass product, accessible to all, losing its prestige and elitie status. Conclusion. The theoretical analysis and analysis of the results of both the author’s own and secondary research clearly show that contemporary education is struggling with many problems which are worsening the quality and image of teaching at a higher level.

In 2003 Madagascar joined the UNESCO “Education for All” programme. The primary objective of the programme is to improve accessibility to and the quality of the education system. Although there has been progress in achieving universal primary education, this progress has not been accompanied by the necessary safeguards for ensuring quality of education. According to the UNESCO report “Éducation pour tous. Madagascar 2015" only 79% the Malagasy children who started school went on to complete their primary education. The PASEC (Program on the Analysis of Education Systems) report also shows the low quality of education – children repeating school years together with low educational outcomes in Mathematics and French. This poor quality of education is undoubtedly in violation of the rights of children to their individual development. This article attempts to answer the question about the causes of the low quality of education in Madagascar. According to the author it’s important to note that apart from poverty and child labour the low professional qualifications of teachers is also a contributory factor.

E-learning has become a challenge for many universities worldwide, which during the pandemic had to switch overnight from offline to online learning and meet the expectations of students for whom this form of education was often alien. The aim of the paper is to present how students from two different countries, Spain and Poland, perceived e-learning during the pandemic, what factors, in their opinion, influenced their satisfaction with this form of education, which of them decreased it; and what are the similarities and differences in their opinion. In order to get to know their opinions, an online survey was conducted with students at the University of Manresa (Spain), and telephone interviews with students of the Warsaw University of Technology Business School. A comparative analysis of the obtained results was then performed to determine the similarities and differences in the satisfaction with e-learning between the Spanish and Polish students. The study shows that the main factors satisfying both groups of students are the possibility to use digital didactic materials, the quality of e-learning platforms, the organisation of e-learning, and the support provided by universities and lecturers. The most significant differences were visible in the perception of online classes, the formula for completing the course, and the didactic activities for students. The research results lead to the conclusion that despite the cultural differences and different teaching systems, the factors satisfying students with e-learning in the two countries were in fact quite similar.

The development of network technologies and globalization processes favoring the growth of distance learning significance are the reasons for such a phenomenon. The distance learning various models are being constantly discussed tested and implemented. It concerns the use of the Internet as the additional source of information and entirely remote learning process, including the activities monitoring, assessment of learning outcomes and creation of learning communities.

With the aim of determination of the influence of Waldorf approaches to the organization of the pedagogical process on the quality of education of Ukrainian junior schoolchildren, the presented experimental research was carried out over the period 2014 – 2016. Third grade schoolchildren of general educational institutions were involved in the experimental research. The organizational forms and methods of Waldorf school were implemented. They were: rhythmic organization of the pedagogical process, artistic teaching, limited use of standard textbooks and schoolchildren’s work on drawing up their own work notebooks, involvement of art elements in the study of all subjects, differentiated exercises for children with different types of temperament, use of active-practical projects, active exercises and games. The positive influence of Waldorf approaches on the quality of schoolchildren’s knowledge (fullness of knowledge and level of their assimilation) and development of their personal- motivational sphere (junior schoolchildren’s attitude to learning, levels of their cognitive activity) was detected. An increase in the level of schoolchildren’s activity and autonomy in educational-cognitive activity was found. The obtained data makes it possible to disseminate Waldorf educational experience for improving the quality of education of junior schoolchildren.

Opis:

The aim of the study was to demonstrate the connection between education efficiency level and human development level. It was assumed that there is a connection between the value of Local Human Development Index (LHDI) and education efficiency established by means of the data envelopment analysis (DEA). The analysis covered data regarding 60 counties, recorded in 2013-2015. 30 counties with the highest Local Human Development Index (LHDI) and 30 counties with the lowest LHDI value were selected. The counties were selected based on a 2010 ranking of counties ordered according to LHDI values, published as a part of the National Report on Human Development. An additional analysis was conducted to evaluate the connection between Education Efficiency Index and the Wealth Index, Health Index and Education Index. The data on the counties used for the analyses was obtained from the Local Data Bank kept by the Main Statistical Office of Poland (GUS) and the Education Research Institute (IBE) of the Ministry of National Education. The efficiency analysis based on DEA-CRS was conducted with DEAFrontier software. The final stage of the analyses involved an ANOVA unidimensional analysis of variance for multiple factors, with emphasis on contrast analysis (simple contrast). The quality predictor applied in those analyses was the class of Efficiency Index. The analyses demonstrate that the highest Education Efficiency Index has been recorded in the counties that have the highest values of analysed variables characteristic of the largest counties. The identified dependency is also associated with the highest value of Local Human Development Index and the measures that make up LHDI.
Celem pracy było wykazanie związku pomiędzy poziomem efektywności edukacji a poziomem rozwoju społecznego. Przyjęto hipotezę, że występuje związek pomiędzy wartością LHDI a efektywnością edukacji wyznaczoną metodą DEA. Analizie poddano dane charakteryzujące 60 powiatów w latach 2013-2015. Z całej zbiorowości powiatów wybrano 30 powiatów o najwyższej i taką samą liczbę powiatów o najniższej wartości lokalnego wskaźnika rozwoju społecznego (LHDI). Przyjęto ranking powiatów według LHDI dla 2010 roku opublikowany w Krajowym Raporcie o Rozwoju Społecznym. Dodatkowej analizie poddano związek wskaźnika efektywności edukacji z wskaźnikiem zamożności, wskaźnikiem zdrowia oraz wskaźnikiem edukacji. Dane opisujące charakterystyczne wielkości powiatów w obrębie prowadzonych analiz pozyskano z Banku Danych Lokalnych Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego oraz Instytutu Badań Edukacyjnych Ministerstwa Edukacji Narodowej. Analizę efektywności metodą DEA-CRS przeprowadzono przy pomocy oprogramowania DEAFrontier. Ostatnim etapem prowadzonych analiz było przeprowadzenie jednowymiarowej i wieloczynnikowej analizy wariancji metodą ANOVA ze szczególnym zwróceniem uwagi na analizę kontrastów (kontrast prosty). Predyktorem jakościowym w tych analizach były klasy wskaźnika efektywności. Przeprowadzone analizy wykazały, że najwyższym wskaźnikiem efektywności edukacji wykazywały się powiaty o najwyższych wartościach analizowanych zmiennych charakterystycznych dla największych powiatów. Wykazana zależność jest też związana z największą wartością lokalnego wskaźnika rozwoju społecznego oraz mierników wchodzących w skład LHDI.

Nowadays it is increasingly difficult to find a teacher who is only qualified to teach one subject. Teachers are faced with very high demands, which are often difficult to meet. This has contributed greatly to the state of affairs of the civilization revolution, the huge increase in information and the unprecedented pace of change that has strengthened the value of education in the labor market and has made its quality one of the priorities of modern education. More and more often we are dealing with multi-faceted teachers, which means that one teacher has the competence to teach two or more subjects. Often these extra items are quite distant from this basic.This situation is largely dictated by economic considerations. The school prefers to have fewer omni-directional teachers who do the work of a dozen or so people, which greatly reduces the cost of employment. It is also beneficial from the perspective of the teachers themselves, who find it increasingly difficult to keep up in school. Acquiring qualifications in areas that do not coincide in any way is currently a common phenomenon in the Polish education system.The aim of the research was to get acquainted with the opinions of teachers from the Ostrowiec district on the quality of supplementary education. The research was conducted among teachers of primary and lower secondary schools in the Ostrowiec district. The diagnostic survey method was applied, which used the polling technique.
W dzisiejszych czasach coraz trudniej znaleźć nauczyciela, który posiada kwalifikacje do nauczania tylko jednego przedmiotu. Wobec nauczycieli stawiane są bardzo wysokie wymagania, które niejednokrotnie okazują się trudne do spełnienia. W dużym stopniu przyczyniła się do tego stanu rzeczy rewolucja cywilizacyjna, ogromny przyrost informacji i niespotykane dotąd tempo przemian, które wzmocniły wartość wykształcenia na rynku pracy i sprawiły, że jego jakość stała się jednym z priorytetów współczesnej edukacji. Coraz częściej mamy do czynienia z wieloprzedmiotowością nauczycieli, która oznacza, że jeden nauczyciel posiada kompetencje do nauczania dwóch lub kilku przedmiotów. Często dodatkowe przedmioty są dość odległe od tego podstawowego.Sytuacja taka w dużym stopniu podyktowana jest niestety względami ekonomicznymi. Szkoła preferuje posiadanie mniejszej liczby nauczycieli wielokierunkowych, którzy wykonują pracę kilkunastu osób, co w ogromnym stopniu zmniejsza koszty zatrudnienia. Jest to również korzystne z perspektywy samych nauczycieli, którym coraz trudniej utrzymać etat w szkołach. Zdobywanie kwalifikacji w dziedzinach, które się ze sobą nie pokrywają, jest obecnie w polskim systemie oświaty zjawiskiem powszechnym.Celem przeprowadzonych badań było poznanie opinii nauczycieli z powiatu ostrowieckiego na temat jakości dokształcania z przedmiotów dodatkowych. Badania przeprowadzono wśród nauczycieli szkół podstawowych i gimnazjalnych powiatu ostrowieckiego. Zastosowano metodę sondażu diagnostycznego, w ramach której wykorzystano technikę ankietowania.

Having the ability of the efficient getting around the labour market is now necessary for everyone who enters the adults life and intends to start professional work. Finding a job these times, requires the skills of coping with the constantly changing conditions. Some jobs have been disappearing, while others are appearing. Therefore, the need for the constant improvement of qualifications and lifelong learning, must be often satisfied by almost all participants in the labour market. Finding the first job usually causes a lot of problems, thus it is important to have the appropriate support system, which can be provided by schools. Its mission is to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills needed in order to select the proper fields of education, or profession and appropriate incorporate their aspirations into the expectations of the employer. The school can achieve such tasks by a number of its own initiatives, namely, the career counseling, and/or special subject-matter projects. The school plays a very important role in preparing young people for the entry into the adults life. However, a person who wants to remain active in the labour market should be flexible and adapt himself/herself to constantly changing conditions. He/she will be still professionally active, if he/she keeps fulfilling such conditions.

Opis:

The study aims to present the need to improve education at Slovak educational centres in Great Britain based on respondents’ opinions. The research sample consisted of 56 members of the teaching staff, 81 parents and 37 children from 13 centres. Data were gathered by an electronic questionnaire modified for each respondent group. Data were processed in the program Štatistika, evaluated by descriptive statistics and hypotheses by inference statistics. Research results indicated the need to increase the quality of instruction, mainly in the innovation of methods, provision of didactic aids, support for teachers and appropriateness of instruction to children’s language skills.

Opis:

The purpose of the underlying paper is to highlight the significance of specialist and diplomarelated apprenticeships at the bachelor degree studies provided by the technical university. The evaluation of the quality of apprenticeships was conducted among the students of the Economy, Engineering and Transport Faculty of the Maritime University of Szczecin (Poland), for the study directions Production Management and Engineering (Polish: ZiP), Logistics (L) and Transport (T). The research methodology was based on questionnaire form, statistical analysis of results reliability and the analysis of literature. The results of the conducted research unequivocally indicated a need to introduce changes to the organisation of the apprenticeships, as this area determines the quality of engineers practical education and influences their professional competences.

In recent years, the situation of people with disabilities in Poland has been attracting ever-growing public attention. Changes in higher education influence university candidates and students with disabilities as well. While necessary infrastructure is operational and functioning, there is still much to be done by the academics and the administration. However, we notice gradually increasing awareness that disability does not have to be a restriction, and it should not definitely be an obstacle to students who want to study. Universities strive to ensure all students have equal opportunities for education and their possibility of participating fully in the life of the academic community, due to a disability, is not anyhow limited or diminished.
Od kilku lat w Polsce zainteresowanie sytuacją osób niepełnosprawnych rośnie. Zmiany w szkolnictwie wyższym obejmują także kandydatów na studentów i studentów z niepełnosprawnością. O ile infrastruktura działa coraz lepiej, o tyle zarówno nauczyciele akademiccy, jak i administracja mają jeszcze wiele do zrobienia. Stopniowo zwiększa się jednak świadomość, że niepełnosprawność nie musi być ograniczeniem, także w dostępie do nauki na uczelni wyższej. Uniwersytety dążą do tego, aby studenci mieli jednakowe szanse na kształcenie i nie doświadczali ograniczeń w uczestniczeniu w życiu społeczności akademickiej np. z powodu niepełnosprawności.

The article substantiates the existence of a social contract for highly qualified specialists, professionals in quality management in the HEF. On the basis of the introduced definition “model of professional training of future specialists ineducation quality in HEF”, the structural and functional model of the system of professional training of such specialists was developed. The training of quality management professionals is based on the international principles of technical regulation in the fields of education, science and innovation, which determines the application of the ISO standards metric. Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badań „Bilans Kapitału Ludzkiego”, które pokazują wpływ jakości wykształcenia na sytuację absolwentów na rynku pracy. Prowadzone analizy wskazu-ją, że jakość wykształcenia mierzona prestiżem uczelni ma znaczenie w określaniu pozycji absolwentów na rynku pracy. Absolwenci prestiżowych uczelni częściej podejmują pracę, rzadziej są bezrobotnymi, częściej pracują na umowę o pracę, częściej posiadają firmy i zajmują wysokie pozycje zawodowe. Absolwenci tych uczelni odczuwają też wyższy po-ziom zadowolenia z pracy oraz mają znacznie wyższe zarobki. Przeprowadzone analizy po-kazały, że im wyższa ranga ukończonej uczelni, tym lepsza sytuacja absolwentów na rynku pracy.
The article presents results of researches of Human Capital Balance. They determine the influence of education level on graduates’ position on job market. The analisys which are carried out indicate that quality of education that is measured by the prestige of universities has got the significance of determining the level of graduates on job market. Graduates of prestigius universities take more often jobs, they are less often jobless, they more often work on contract of service, they more often have firms, and they take high professional positions. Graduates of these universities have got higher level of satisfaction of their job and they earn more, too. The analisis which had been carried out showed that the more the rank of university that the better situtation of graduates on job market.

Dostosowanie kształcenia do potrzeb rynku pracy stało się jednym z podstawowych zadań reformy systemu edukacji. Reforma stawia sobie za cel przygotowanie młodzież do aktywnego uczestniczenia w Życiu społecznym i gospodarczym, by zminimalizować trudności wynikające z barier psychologicznych zakorzenionych w społeczeństwie wychowanym w systemie państwa opiekuńczego, jak również wymaganiami stawianymi przez obecną gospodarkę rynkową oraz ograniczyć brak przygotowania młodych ludzi do aktywnego poszukiwania pracy. Wdrażanie Krajowych Ram Kwalifikacji (KRK) oznacza istotne zmiany w sposobie prowadzenia zewnętrznej oceny jakości kształcenia i państwowej akredytacji programów studiów. Opracowane przez uczelnie Krajowe Ramy Kwalifikacji i odniesienie ich do Europejskich Ram Kwalifikacji tworzą potrzeby intensyfikacji transferu wiedzy do sektora przedsiębiorstw i do instytucji publicznych - program Partnerstwa na rzecz Transferu Wiedzy (PTW), którego celem jest promocja i ułatwianie przepływu wiedzy i innowacji pomiędzy uczelniami a gospodarką.
Adapting education to the labor market has become one of the fundamental tasks of education reform. The reform aims to prepare young people for actively participate in social and economic life in order to minimize difficulties arising from the psychological barriers rooted in society reared in a welfare state system, as well as the requirements posed by the current market economy and to reduce the lack of preparation for young people to active job search. Implementation of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) is the major change in the. conduct an external evaluation of the quality of education and state accreditation programs studies. Developed by the National Qualifications Framework colleges and relating them to EQF create the need to increase knowledge transfer to industry companies and public institutions – the Partnership for Transfer Knowledge (PTW), whose purpose is to promote and facilitate the flow of knowledge and innovation between universities and the economy.

It the article attempts the conceptual formalization of the learning factors and asessment of the graduates' ąuality. The presented approach shall serve the basis for develop mathematical models in quaiity management system educational. Introduction the quantitative characteristics of graduate quality together with the determination of their functional dependences in relation to quantitative and qualitative variables of management process, shall allow to solve the problem of education's effective management the highest quality professionals.

This article is aimed to show differences in quality of life regarding education and employment in a given area. The research hypothesis assumes the presence of the difference in quality of life across Poland and of interrelation between the quality of life and the living standards. The studies were conducted on a group of respondents selected intentionally from three provinces. The provinces were selected using a multidimensional analysis and the criterion for selection was the living standards of Polish residents. The studies were conducted as part of the individual Research Grant launched in 2011 under the title: “Living standards and quality of life among Polish residents” 1708/B/H03/2011/40 from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Under the impact of globalising market forces, public funding to higher education systems in many parts of the world has been reduced on a per capita basis, even as student enrolments continue to increase. Paralleling this phenomenon has been rapid privatisation of the university sector, achieved through the transfer of costs to the community, either through state universities imposing student fees or new private institutions being established. The paper analyses the course of privatisation in the higher education systems of Poland, Iran, Australia and the Philippines and concludes that the various privatisation pathways being followed are reflective of the differing national traditions of the countries concerned.

The contemporary of an institutional – educational instytucions function in reality a dynamically developing civilization. It generates a processual changeswhich in turn implies the need to adapt to the designated (or rather imposed) contemporary standards. This means that in terms of institutional education, didactic and educational workalready at preschool level, there has been a need for proactive change. In the area of substantive content, they relate, inter alia, reform of the existing and implementation of the new core curriculum. Therefore, the question arises about the nature of the criterion of introduced transformation. For it seems that the modern times, and the requirements of both institutions and individuals, have led to the need to assess educational institutions in terms of the quality of their structural and substantive work. Hence, the aim of this paper is to draw attention to the quality of work of the nursery. The tangible for effect of its proper functioning is to provide quality education so that every child is developing on the best of their abilities. Therefore, as a result of concern, the authors of this article, raised their problem of planned and thought out raising process the quality of work in preschool educational establishments.

The transformation of social and economic system and the integration of Poland with European Union have brought many positive chance. Simultanously, some negative processes (phenomena) have intensified (also accompanied by new ones), which makes difficult the functioning and development of higher education. These negative processes and their noticeable results are presented in the article. Apart from critical opinions and questions about the direction of changes in higher education, some suggestions of improvenment are included.

Abstract: The reform of higher education has introduced some changes in the scoring of publications and the award of degrees and academic titles. Missing are changes in the regulations concerning the financing of studies. Students still do not know how much money is spent on their education. Thus, financial resources should be reflected in the quality of information received. This article is a case study of students of Economics and Management from the Faculty of Agriculture and Economics of the University of Agriculture in Krakow and the Faculty of Management and Production Engineering of the State Vocational College in Oświęcim. The SERVQUAL survey method was applied. The research was conducted during the summer semester of the 2018/19 academic year. The results of the research indicate that students at the public college in Oświęcim have higher expectations than those from the university in Kraków. The students of the University of Agriculture evaluated the quality of their education as being closer to their expectations. Moreover, students of part-time studies are usually more demanding than their full-time counterparts. However, it is easier to satisfy lower expectations. Through appropriate marketing of the university, the marketed product can be shaped in such a way that the quality assessment is satisfactory for the university.

Funkcjonowanie w Polsce licznych uczelni publicznych i niepublicznych kształcących w zakresie szeroko rozumianych nauk ekonomicznych czy społecznych wiąże się z faktem wprowadzenia do programów studiów określonych kierunków bądź specjalności przedmiotów prawniczych. Tym samym edukacja prawna pojawia się na kierunkach nieprawniczych jako dopełnienie kształcenia ekonomicznego albo jako kształcenie wiodące na innych kierunkach, np. na administracji. Znajomość prawa jest koniecznością dla każdego obywatela, ale jej znaczenie wzrasta szczególnie w przypadku osób, które pełnią rolę samodzielnych decydentów zarówno w gospodarczych jednostkach organizacyjnych, jak i w organach państwowych i samorządowych, których kompetencje wiążą się z procesami gospodarczymi.
The operation of numerous public and private universities educating in broadly defined economic or social sciences is due to the fact of entering of legal subjects into study programs of particular fields or majors. Thus, the legal education appears also in non-law subjects as a supplement to economic education or as leading education in other fields, such as administration. The knowledge of law is a necessity for every citizen, but its importance increases particularly in the cases of people, who act as independent policy makers in both economical and organisational units as well as state and local authorities, whose responsibilities are associated with economic processes.

The article discusses the phenomenon of early school leaving, the scale of this phenomenon in Europe, the ways of conducting research on it and its reduction. ESL is caused by a combination of individual, educational and socio-economic factors. Therefore, the article points out that any measures taken to tackle the phenomenon of ESL, focused on prevention, intervention or compensation, must take into account the specific situation of the country and the region. There is no single solution that would be appropriate in all situations and everywhere. The results presented have been achieved within an international educational project: “ESSE – Early School Leaving & Second ChanceEducation”, supported by the European Commission within the Lifelong Learning Programme and by Poland’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Jakość edukacji jest bardzo istotnym czynnikiem przekładającym się na jakość kapitału ludzkiego. Światowe doniesienia naukowe wskazują na oddziaływanie poziomu rozwoju społecznego na poziom kapitału ludzkiego społeczeństwa. Dodatkowym problemem występującym przy obserwacji przestrzennego zróżnicowania kapitału ludzkiego społeczeństwa są nierówności społeczne. Zatem poprawianie jakości kapitału ludzkiego powinno uwzględniać dwa powyżej wymienione aspekty: z jednej strony dążenie do poprawy jakości kapitału ludzkiego społeczeństwa, a z drugiej strony – niwelowanie nierówności społecznych. Celem prezentowanych badań była próba znalezienia czynników różnicujących jakość kapitału ludzkiego kształtowanego przez system edukacyjny. Cel ten był weryfikowany poprzez następującą hipotezę: jakość edukacji jest determinowana przez poziom rozwoju społecznego. Powyższa hipoteza została potwierdzona – pomiędzy skrajnymi klasami rozwoju społecznego występują statystycznie istotne różnice w wartościach mierników jakości edukacji. Wyższy poziom rozwoju społecznego występuje w powiatach należących do dużych aglomeracji lub bezpośrednio do nich przylegających. Przeprowadzone badania wskazują jednoznacznie na niższą jakość edukacji na obszarach poza dużymi aglomeracjami. Konieczne jest jednak przeprowadzenie pogłębionych badań mających na celu dogłębne wyjaśnienie stwierdzonych różnic. Wykazane zależności powinny wyznaczać długofalowy kierunek działań prowadzący do poprawy jakości edukacji w powiatach o niższym wskaźniku rozwoju społecznego. Właściwym praktycznym kierunkiem takich działań jest skierowanie dodatkowych środków finansowych na zajęcia wyrównawcze dla młodzieży oraz wypracowanie systemu motywowania młodych ludzi do zdobywania wiedzy.
The quality of education is a very important factor, which translates into the quality of human capital. Global scientific reports indicate that the level of social development affects the level of human capital in society. Social inequalities constitute another problem in the spatial differentiation of human capital. Thus, measures aimed at improving the quality of human capital should take into account the two above-mentioned aspects: on the one hand, the desire to improve the quality of human capital in society; on the other hand, eliminating social inequalities. The aim of this study was to find the factors that differentiate the quality of human capital, shaped by the educational system. This goal was verified by the hypothesis that the quality of education is determined by the level of social development. This hypothesis has been confirmed. It has been found that there are statistically significant differences in the measures of the quality of education between the extreme classes of social development. The higher level of social development occurs in districts belonging to large cities or directly adjacent to them. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct further studies aimed at an in-depth explanation of these differences. This study, however, clearly indicates that the quality of education is lower in areas outside large agglomerations. These correlations should encourage a long-term course of action leading to the improvement of the quality of education in districts with lower levels of human development. The proper practical solution is to allocate more financial resources for remedial classes for young people and to develop a system motivating young people to acquire knowledge.

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic and the related sanitary rigour pose a great challenge for universities preparing young people to work in medical and medicine-related professions, including the profession of a physiotherapist. It is particularly difficult to conduct placements, during which both students and employees of the institution as well as patients will be provided with maximum safety, but at the same time high standards of education will be maintained. The aim of the study was to assess possible changes in the quality of placements that might have occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic and the applicable sanitary regime. Material and methods: The study was conducted in October 2021 among 67 students of physiotherapy at the University of Applied Sciences in Tarnow, Poland. The sample consisted of both women (n = 49) and men (n = 18) who had completed at least one full work placement prior to the outbreak of the pandemic and at least one full work placement during the pandemic. Students voluntarily filled in a purpose-built electronic questionnaire, in which they responded to 20 questions referring the conditions of placements, cooperation with staff, the atmosphere in the institution and the skills acquired there. They determined on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 – has definitely changed in favour, 5 – has definitely changed in an unfavourable way), how professional practices have changed due to the pandemic and the sanitary regime. Students could also add their comments in the form of recommendations aimed at improving the quality of placements. They were invited to do it with the following statement: Provide an example of a practical solution that would help improve the quality of placements. Results: According to the respondents, the most unfavourable changes in the quality of placements caused by the pandemic are: increased stress related to placements, worse conditions for learning how to diagnose and plan therapy, limited opportunities to learn about modern methods of therapy and limited opportunities to work directly with the patient. The respondents also noticed positive changes in the quality of placements. These were the opportunity to work in a small group, a better atmosphere in the institution, more help from the staff and better familiarization with the place of the placement. Conclusions: The pandemic has brought both positive and negative changes in the quality of placements. Monitoring the quality of placements and surveying students’ opinions is a very important tool in improving the quality of education. It is worthwhile to carry out extra quality control studies at times of change to be aware of possible changes in the quality of placements induced by such challenging situations. It was also interesting to notice that students expect some of the changes related to the sanitary regime to persist after the pandemic has ended.
Wprowadzenie: Pandemia COVID-19 i związane z nią rygory sanitarne stanowią duże wyzwanie dla uczelni przygotowujących młodzież do pracy w zawodach medycznych i okołomedycznych, w tym w zawodzie fizjoterapeuty. Szczególnie trudne jest przeprowadzenie praktyk, podczas których zarówno studenci i pracownicy placówki, jak i pacjenci będą mieli zapewnione maksymalne bezpieczeństwo, ale jednocześnie zachowane zostaną wysokie standardy kształcenia. Celem pracy była ocena ewentualnych zmian w jakości praktyk zawodowych, jakie mogły nastąpić w czasie pandemii COVID-19 i obowiązującego reżimu sanitarnego. Materiał i metody: Badanie przeprowadzono w październiku 2021 roku wśród 67 studentów fizjoterapii Akademii Nauk Stosowanych w Tarnowie. W próbie znalazły się zarówno kobiety (n = 49), jak i mężczyźni (n = 18), którzy odbyli co najmniej jeden pełny staż zawodowy przed wybuchem pandemii oraz co najmniej jeden pełny staż zawodowy w trakcie pandemii. Studenci dobrowolnie wypełniali specjalnie skonstruowany elektroniczny kwestionariusz, w którym odpowiadali na 20 pytań dotyczących warunków odbywania praktyk, współpracy z personelem placówki, atmosfery panującej w miejscu praktyki oraz zdobytych tam umiejętności. Określali w skali od 1 do 5 (1 – zdecydowanie zmieniły się na korzyść, 5 – zdecydowanie zmieniły się na niekorzyść), jak zmieniły się praktyki zawodowe w związku z pandemią i reżimem sanitarnym. Studenci mogli również dodać swoje uwagi w postaci rekomendacji mających na celu poprawę jakości praktyk. Zostali do tego zaproszeni za pomocą następującego stwierdzenia: Podaj przykład praktycznego rozwiązania, które przyczyniłoby się do poprawy jakości praktyk. Wyniki: Według respondentów najbardziej niekorzystne zmiany w jakości praktyk spowodowane pandemią to: zwiększony stres związany z praktykami, gorsze warunki do nauki diagnozowania i planowania terapii, ograniczone możliwości poznania nowoczesnych metod terapii oraz ograniczone możliwości bezpośredniej pracy z pacjentem. Respondenci zauważyli również pozytywne zmiany w jakości praktyk. Były to możliwość pracy w małej grupie, lepsza atmosfera w placówce, większa pomoc ze strony personelu oraz lepsze zapoznanie się z miejscem stażu. Wnioski: Pandemia przyniosła zarówno pozytywne, jak i negatywne zmiany w jakości praktyk. Monitorowanie jakości praktyk i badanie opinii studentów jest bardzo ważnym narzędziem w podnoszeniu jakości kształcenia. Warto przeprowadzać dodatkowe badania jakości, aby mieć świadomość ewentualnych zmian w jakości praktyk wywołanych trudnymi sytuacjami. Interesujące było również zauważenie, że studenci oczekują, że niektóre zmiany związane z reżimem sanitarnym utrzymają się po zakończeniu pandemii.
