    W artykule zaprezentowano wykorzystanie arkusza kalkulacyjnego MS Excel do wspomagania procesu przeprowadzania analizy niezgodności produktów powstających na wydziale walcowni. W sposób szczegółowy omówiono dotychczasowy sposób realizacji procesu. Przedstawiono stworzone w arkuszu kalkulacyjnym narzędzie informatyczne, a także zaprezentowano sposób przeprowadzania analizy z jego wykorzystaniem. Zastosowanie narzędzia pozwoliło na uzyskanie wymiernych korzyści, takich jak skrócenie czasu realizacji procesu o ok. 80% oraz eliminację błędów, które wcześniej występowały w przygotowywanych raportach.
    The article provides a discussion on the MS Excel spreadsheet application as a supporting tool for the process of nonconformity analysis of products manufactured at a rolling mill. The authors have described in detail how the process used to be handled. An IT tool created using the spreadsheet as well as the method to conduct analysis by means of the said tool have been presented. Its application brought certain tangible benefits, such as shortening of the process time by ca. 80% and elimination of the errors which could previously be found in the reports being prepared.

Wyniki audytu logistycznego stanowią źródło poprawy w zakresie redukcji kosztów i poprawy poziomu obsługi logistycznej. W artykule zaprezentowano pojęcie i istotę audytu logistycznego, a także wskazano na możliwe obszary jego zastosowania. Podsumowanie stanowi propozycja procedury audytu logistycznego dla przedsiębiorstwa przemysłowego.
    The article discusses the issues related to the logistic audit, which is morę and morę rreąuently used as a tool which allows for development of the logistic system through understanding the causes of disruptions in the system and settling the direction of possible improvements. The score of a logistic audit becomes a source of improvement, as far as cost reduction and increased level of logistic services arę concerned. The article presents the notion and essence of the logistic audit. It also lists the potential areas of application. The summary is an example of logistic audit procedurę for an industrial enterprise.

    The energy audit is key to systematizing possible actions when decisions regarding energy management in the industrial enterprises are undertaken. Electrical motors are the largest group of industrial receivers, which account for a major share of electrical energy consumption. The article will present the following issues: setting out the task of the energy audit of electric motors in an industrial enterprise, description of the audit process; identification of benefits resulting from the audit; description and choice of particular audit types; setting out the aims of the audit, and choice of audit tools and methods to evaluate the collected data to determine energy saving opportunities. The experiences regarding those matters of other EU countries will also be discussed. It is important to notice, that the energy audit of electric motors, only when carried out correctly, can influence the effectiveness of power management in an enterprise and therefore lead to improvement in economic measures such as: decrease of expenses related to the supplied power and fuels, and improvement of the financial result.
    Audyt energetyczny jest kluczem do uporządkowanych działań w zakresie podejmowania decyzji związanych z zarządzaniem energią w przedsiębiorstwach przemysłowych. Silniki elektryczne stanowią największą grupę odbiorników przemysłowych i mają największy udział w zużyciu energii elektrycznej w przemyśle. W artykule zostaną przedstawione następujące problemy dotyczące między innymi: sformułowania zadań audytu energetycznego silników elektrycznych w przedsiębiorstwie przemysłowym, opis procesu audytu, identyfikacja korzyści wynikających z audytu, opis zasad wyboru rodzaju audytu, sformułowania celów audytu oraz wyboru narzędzi audytu oraz metod analizy zebranych danych w aspekcie analizy oszczędności energii. Omówione zostaną również doświadczenia innych krajów UE w tym zakresie. Należy mieć na uwadze, że tylko prawidłowo przeprowadzony audyt energetyczny silników elektrycznych decyduje o efektywności zarządzania energią w przedsiębiorstwie, której miarą ekonomiczną są: zmniejszenie kosztów dostarczanej energii i paliw oraz wzrost wyniku finansowego.

    The article describes activities, which consist of reducing the amount of polymer wastes generated in the production cycle of the installation system. The main goal of the described case is to find a method to reduce the amount of polymer waste generated in the process of production. Minimization of the waste is one of the most important elements of introducing the Clean Production rules for enterprises. The Clean Production is a good background for the implementation of legislation which is binding in Poland and European Union and which concerns evaluation of environment management system.
    W artykule opisano działania polegające na ograniczaniu ilości odpadów polimerowych powstających w cyklu produkcyjnym systemów instalacyjnych. Głównym kierunkiem w opisywanym przykładzie było znalezienie metody zmniejszającej powstawanie ilości odpadów w samym procesie produkcyjnym. Minimalizacja odpadów jest jednym z ważniejszych elementów wdrażania zasady Czystszej Produkcji w przedsiębiorstwie. Czystsza Produkcja stanowi dobre przygotowanie do wprowadzenia regulacji prawnych obowiązujących w Polsce oraz Unii Europejskiej, dotyczących oceny systemu zarządzania środowiskiem.

    Presented paper concentrate on problems connected with the role of operation manager within industrial company. Operation management concentrate many activities in today’s industrial corporation and because of that the role of it’s manager is very important. He should to have many skills described in this paper. We analysed responsibilities of the operation manager, his basic operational skills and also give some examples of duties and responsibilities of good operation manager on the example of food industry. This example can give some remarks about practical skills needed in operation management in particular enterprise.

    Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie struktury polskiego eksportu produktów przemysłowych oraz nakładów na B+R. Dane zamieszczone w tekście wskazują, że struktury te są bardzo zbliżone. W eksporcie dominują pojazdy samochodowe oraz maszyny i urządzenia. Również w tych branżach przedsiębiorstwa wydają największe kwoty na badania naukowe i rozwój. Może to świadczyć o istnieniu pewnego sprzężenia zwrotnego pomiędzy wynikami eksportu a wydatkami na B+R bowiem wpływy z eksportu umożliwiają finansowanie B+R, a innowacje wprowadzane dzięki nim ułatwiają ekspansję na zagraniczne rynki. Pomimo zwiększania wydatków na ten cel, Polska jest jednak daleko za czołówką europejską: innowacje produktowe lub procesowe wprowadziło w latach 2008-2010 około 18-20% polskich firm, w najlepszych pod tym względem Niemczech około 65%.
    The purpose of this article is displaying the structure of the Polish industrial products and the internal expenditure for R+D. The data in this text indicate that these structures are similar. The main groups in Polish export are: automotive products and machines. Also the expenditure for R+D are the highest in these kinds of the activity. It may point to existing the feedback effect between the results of exports and the expenditure for R+D. The export receipts afford possibilities for the financing the research and developing activity, and the innovations facilitate the expansion on foreign markets. Unfortunately, in spite of increasing the expenditure for R+D, Poland is far behind European leaders: in years 2008-2010, the product or processing innovations were implemented in 18-20% of Polish enterprises, whereas in Germany in 65% firms.

    In the article, different ways of use of the results of business tendency surveys in manufacturing industry conducted in the Central Statistical Office of Poland have been presented. The survey conducted since June 1992 has been described: its scope, frequency, content of questionnaires, sampling method, grouping of results. Long enough time-series and good quality of results prove to use this survey's results in short-term analysis of the present and future economic situation. To evaluate quality of business tendency survey's results, comparison between qualitative information and similar quantitative indices (for sold production, employment and prices) and between diagnosis and forecasts (general econoinic situation, total and foreign demand, sold production, financial situation) have been presented. Additionally comparison of results of different business tendency surveys (industry — construction — retail trade) has been analysed. Results for selected groups of industrial enterprises (small — large, different industrial activilies) have been presented as examples of possible detailed use of business tendency surveys' results. The general conclusion is that quality of results obtained in the above mentioned analysis is satisfying. Although a tendency to present more optimistic forecasts than diagnosis was observed, trends are comparable. Quick changes of the Polish economy cause that enterpreneurs present better forecasts for shorter period (one month instead of one quarter). Together with the stability of the Polish economy this horizon should be longer. Correlation between comparative qualitative and quantitalive surveys' results is good enough (and becoming better with the stabilisation of the economy). Quality of results obtained for different groups of enterprises is comparable, better for more stable industries, strongly linked with domestic rather than foreign markets.

    The paper, on the background of the economic development rules (micro-, meso-, macro- and mega-economic and development of the world), presents: the concept of the spatial structure of the industry, basic indicators of industrial potential, corporate functions in the spatial structure of the industry and the behaviour of enterprises in the conditions of crisis. Model considerations is partly illustrated with the examples of industrial change at the national level.

    The increasing pressure of globalisation on the worldwide market has forced enterprises to shift their focus from product quality to effectiveness of internal business processes. The object of interest of this paper is a modern management approach based on corporate performance evaluation by measuring the performance of internal processes. The paper aims to prove that the use of modern indicators and the measurement of internal processes belong among factors that have a direct positive impact on corporate performance. To reach the aim, empirical primary research was carried out. The paper focused on research results regarding the use of modern indicators for the measurement of business processes in Slovak industrial enterprises from selected branches. The primary quantitative research was conducted using questionnaires. The research aimed to test the hypothesis stating that enterprises using modern indicators to measure process performance have been reaching more positive ROE values, representing a basic indicator of corporate performance. Dependences among the data selected from the empirical research were analysed using statistical methods, namely, the chi-squared test, T-test and the correlation analysis. Based on the statistically processed data, the authors concluded that business processes are a basic source for the evaluation of corporate performance. Higher ROE values can be reached using modern process indicators, especially in mass production enterprises. The paper contributed to the further development of knowledge in performance management, specifically, process-oriented management.

    W pracy podjęto problematykę wpływu międzynarodowych uwarunkowań na funkcjonowanie przedsiębiorstw przemysłowych. Określono funkcje przedsiębiorstw przemysłowych w przestrzeni geograficznej (podstawowe, komplementarne, standardowe, regionalne, lokalne), przedstawiono główne uwarunkowania międzynarodowe i krajowe rozwoju firm (m.in. takie jak: rynki, światowa sytuacja gospodarcza i polityczna, struktura własności, polityka gospodarcza) oraz określono rodzaje powiązań przedsiębiorstwa z otoczeniem międzynarodowym (produktowe, surowcowe, kapitałowe, finansowe, technologiczne, informacyjne, pracy). Przedstawione rozważania potraktowano jako aktualne kierunki badań w dziedzinie geografii przemysłu.
    The paper presents the problem of the impact of international determinants on the functioning of industrial enterprises. The author defines the functions of industrial enterprises in the geographical space (basic, complementary, standard, regional, local) and presents the main international and domestic determinants of companies development (including markets, global economic and political situation, ownership structure, economic policy) and types of companies relationships with the international environment (product, raw materials, capital, financial, technological, information, employment). The consideration was treated as current directions of research in the field of industrial geography.

    In this chapter, an attempt to analyze ąuality of predictions of industrial enterprises is described. Data originates from monthly questionnaires conducted by the Institute of Economic Developments Warsaw School of Economics. Usually, two groups of questions are included in questionnaires of overall economic situation. First group concerns current values of various economic variables, second one - changes in these values in near futurę. Expectations of respondents create a certain expert system of predictions. The obvious question is: what is the quality of these predictions? In this chapter, attention has been focused on industrial output which plays a major part in building a comprehensiye coefficient of economic conditions of industry.

    Purpose: The main purpose of the article is to present, based on the literature on the subject, the essence of the innovative potential and innovative activity of a company as generators of innovative processes. Design/methodology/approach: The study used the methodology developed by Eurostat and OECD, as presented in the Oslo Manual. Findings: The empirical part presents, using statistical data, the innovative activity of Polish industrial enterprises in the years 2017-2019. Originality/value: The survey of industrial and service enterprises was conducted between 2017 and 2019, and its results were published in 2020. The results of the study can be used in strategic decisions of enterprises in the field of innovative activities of Polish industrial enterprises.

    The paper proposes a research pattern, which can be applied to the works in the field of industrial geography. It includes several stages of research, among others: an assessment of the formation process of the company and the spatial structure of industry in defined spatial system, setting targets for further reconstruction of the initial state, identifying opportunities to generate new and use of existing factors of development and the possibilities of reducing barriers, decision-making process in the selection of the most effective methods for managing organizational goals, the establishment of transformation guidelines of industrial structures, analysis of the conversion process mechanism from initial to a final state, assessment of the final state for the formulation of further directions of change.

    Changes in the socio-economic system initiated at the beginning of the 1990s affect both the micro- and macroeconomic sphere of economy. Solutions adopted in the stabilisation package, and related to the monetary policy in particular, exerted an enormous influence on enterprises. Price liberation, an introduction of internal convertibility with a currency devaluation, and above all making interest rates real resulted in a deterioration of the economic situation of businesses and forced them to undertake reform actions. One of the most important changes was privatisation of large manufacturing enterprises. The aim of the paper is to assess the economic situation of large public and private enterprises between 1990 and 2004. This analysis should make it possible to respond to the question whether it is private or public enterprises which can better adapt to market mechanisms. The paper presents comparable analyses of the values of the basic profitability, liquidity and debt ratios.

    The paper concentrates on the need of use of a wide range of marketing research methods and techniques. It presents the role and function of these research and quality aspects that can be achieved thanks to them. The authors estimate the extent of marketing analysis use in selected production companies. The main reason why companies are interested in carrying out of research are distribution and promotion policies. The paper shows which fields of research are more neglected and which are in a good shape.
    W artykule skoncentrowano rozważania na roli i znaczeniu metod i technik badań marketingowych dla przedsiębiorstw przemysłowych. Omówiono rolę badań marketingowych. Następnie nakreślono poszczególne etapy projektowania badań marketingowych: cykl badania, dobór reprezentantów i formy pomiaru, klasyfikacja instrumentów pomiarowych, metody analizy danych oraz prezentacja wyników badań. Na zakończenie zaprezentowano wyniki badań nad wykorzystaniem badań marketingowych w przedsiębiorstwach produkcyjnych.

    Purpose: The aim of the paper is to analyze the innovations in Industry 4.0 conditions. Design/methodology/approach: Critical literature analysis. Analysis of international literature from main databases and polish literature and legal acts connecting with researched topic. Findings: The publication concentrate on problems connected with various aspects of relations between Industry 4.0 and innovativeness. In the paper we presented the main presumptions of Industry 4.0 concept and it’s nowadays usage. In the second part of the paper there is an analysis of main trends of today Industry 4.0 implementation approaches and innovativeness. Especially there is an description of main innovative trends of 2021 described from Industry 4.0 relations point of view. Also the paper deals with the social innovation aspect of Industry 4.0. There are very interesting and innovative concepts that can be used in today business environment and also governments. Some of them like universal basic income are a bit controversial but it needs to further more detailed analysis if it is possible and could benefit to the society. Other trends can be for example: new forms of employment or new types of organizational culture. Originality/value: Detailed analysis of all subjects related to the problems connected with the innovations in Industry 4.0 conditions.

    Purpose: The aim of the paper is to analyze the team innovation processes in industrial enterprise. Design/methodology/approach: Critical literature analysis. Findings: The publication concentrate on problems connected with various aspects of team innovations. In the paper we presented the system of interactions which exist between negotiators in team especially from innovativeness point of view. Also we analyzed problems connected with team creativity and boasting it because team creativity is indispensable to boast innovativeness in industrial company. On the basis of the literature analysis it can be pointed out that the satisfying level of innovativeness can be achievable without appropriate level of creativity. To enhance it within company we need to give the people enough freedom and appropriate leadership adjusted to the culture of people. Also it is important to integrate creativity concepts and methods enhancing creativity into day-to-day operation of the organization. The organization should careful plan the division of the resources between innovative tasks. Originality/value: Detailed analysis of all subjects related to the problems connected with team innovation in an industrial enterprise.

    The theoretical aim of the paper is to analyses the main function and concept of production control in operation management. The empirical aim of the paper is to investigate polish production firm opinion about factors affecting production planning and control and also functions of production planning and control. Production control is very important in every factory, and every aspect of operation and production management especially in times of Industry 4.0 conditions. In the paper we presented all classical seven task of production management control. Also there is in the paper an analysis of main factors affecting production control in industrial organization. In the paper we analysed the problems connected with production control. Nowadays in the conditions of Industry 4.0 this is very important concept because the increasing level of digitalization of all industrial processes leads to possibility of detailed analysis of all processes and better level of control. Operation managers should have good level of knowledge about production control and especially quality control. They can use in this many new information tools like statistical methods and artificial intelligence. Especially we think that in the future many function of production control would be assisted by artificial intelligence. We also in the paper give results of research conducted on example of 30 polish production organizations located in Silesia region.

    W artykule przedstawiono proces prywatyzacji przedsiębiorstwa państwowego na przykładzie wybranego przedsiębiorstwa przemysłu lekkiego w regionie tarnowskim. Omówiono istotę i przyczyny restrukturyzacji polskich przedsiębiorstw ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem branży przemysłu obuwniczego. Podkreślono zaangażowanie zatrudnionych podczas procesu prywatyzacji analizowanego przedsiębiorstwa. W konkluzji zwrócono uwagę na znaczenie procesu prywatyzacji w zaadoptowaniu się przedsiębiorstwa do warunków gospodarki rynkowej.
    The article presents the privatisation process carried out in the selected state-owned company from Tarnów region. It points out the features characteristic for the period of the developing free market economy, with particular focus on the footwear branch of the light industry. The paper describes big commitment and involvement of the employees during the privatisation process. The final conclusions highlight the importance of the privatisation process in a company adjustment to the requirements set by the market.

    Studying the macroeconomic management is an integral part of economic growth because it causes the increasing wealth, and analysis of the factors determining it, can explain the differences in the level and pace of development in different countries. Special research interest causes the characteristics of macroeconomic management, economic growth and its relations with current account. Despite the improvement of current account balance there is a decline in international investment position. With the immanent volatility of the world economy it is of a special interest the management of economic factors on current account in a national economic system that is functioning in the frame of common macroeconomic environment (The EU). We analyze the impact of macroeconomic factors on the current accounts in Slovakia and Poland.
    Studiowanie zarządzania makroekonomicznego jest integralną częścią wzrostu gospodarczego, ponieważ powoduje wzrost zamożności i analiza czynników determinujących go, może wyjaśnić różnice w poziomie i tempie rozwoju w różnych krajach. Szczególne zainteresowanie badawcze wpływa na charakterystyki zarządzania makroekonomicznego, wzrostu gospodarczego i jego związków z rachunkiem bieżącym. Pomimo poprawy salda obrotów bieżących odnotowano spadek w międzynarodowej pozycji inwestycyjnej. Przy immanentnej niestabilności gospodarki światowej, szczególnie interesujące jest zarządzanie czynnikami ekonomicznymi na rachunku obrotów bieżących w krajowym systemie gospodarczym, który funkcjonuje w ramach wspólnego otoczenia makroekonomicznego (UE). Analizujemy wpływ czynników makroekonomicznych na rachunkach bieżących na Słowacji i w Polsce.

    The article proposes a new look at J. M. Bocheński’s OP classical philosophical concept of the business enterprise as a “system” (presented in the text Zur Philosophie der industriellen Unternehmung). The referred author analyzed the industrial enterprise – or business enterprise – from the logic and ontological perspective. The discourses conducted in the article focus mainly on: the significance of Bocheński’s model (1), the ontological perspective and the author’s references to Aristotelian terms (2), the reservations and objections to the concept (especially regarding the role of ownership) (3), the possibilities of extending the analysis and new interpretations of the concept, with regard to the idea of entrepreneur’s contribution to the common good (4).
    W artykule proponuje się nowe spojrzenie na klasyczną filozoficzną koncepcję przedsiębiorstwa, pochodzącą od J. I M. Bocheńskiego OP. Autor ten analizował “przedsiębiorstwo przemysłowe” – lub szerzej, przedsiębiorstwo sfery gospodarczej – jako “system”, w perspektywie logicznej i ontologicznej. Rozważania prezentowane w artykule dotyczą głównie: znaczenia modelu Bocheńskiego (1); jego ukierunkowania na perspektywę ontologiczną i nawiązań do Arystotelesa (1), zastrzeżeń, które mogą być formułowane (dotyczących zwłaszcza roli własności) (2), możliwości jego nowej interpretacji w kontekście wkładu przedsiębiorcy do dobra wspólnego (4).

    The production changes of the second half of the twentieth century in Ukraine have led to the transformation of industrial areas. Some enterprises have been modernized, and some, especially large monopoly industry enterprises – have degraded. The industry decline has caused the degradation of the territories which are gradually acquiring the antisocial traits. Today, the industrial area restructuring is aimed at both: renewing of the working places and reviving of these territories as valuable elements of the city structure.
    Zmiana trybu produkcji na Ukrainie w drugiej połowie XX w. spowodowała przekształcenie obszarów przemysłowych. Część przedsiębiorstw została zmodernizowana,a część (zwłaszcza duże przedsiębiorstwa oraz monopole przemysłowe) znalazła się pod wpływem procesów degradacji. Upadek przemysłu spowodował degradację obszarów, które stopniowo nabierają aspołecznych cech. Obecnym zadaniem jest przywrócenie do życia tych porzuconych terenów przemysłowych, tak by mogły się stać pełnoprawnym elementem struktury miasta, a także obszarem, na którym powstaną miejsca pracy.

    Opis:
    This article discusses the impact of economic, environmental and legal policies on management of the companies involved in investment projects in the area of industrial construction in Poland. Our empirical research relied on conducting a survey in a group of construction managers and experts. The survey involved 158 Polish companies from the SME sector dealing from the industrial construction. The questionnaire responses were thoroughly analysed and interpreted with the use of a method called exploratory factor analysis (EFA). The results provide an insight into successful management of investment processes realised by construction companies implementing projects in the area of industrial construction. The most important factors identified with the use of this research method turned out to be the availability of technology in a stable political system, stability of economic and tax systems, stable social policy, stability and transparency of the legal system and well-targeted environmental policies. In general, it can be stated that the effective management of industrial construction projects is influenced by the economic, environmental and legal policies of the state.
    W artykule podjęto temat wpływu polityki gospodarczej, środowiskowej i prawnej na zarządzanie procesem inwestycyjnym w polskim sektorze budownictwa przemysłowego. Po pierwsze, dokonano przeglądu literatury z zakresu zarządzania projektami budowlanymi. Po drugie, artykuł odpowiada na pytanie, od jakich czynników zależy skuteczne zarządzanie projektami w budownictwie przemysłowym, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem 3 kluczowych obszarów, tj. czynników prawnych, ekonomicznych i środowiskowych. W tym celu przeprowadziliśmy badanie ankietowe wśród 158 przedstawicieli kadry zarządzającej MSP zaangażowanych w sektor budownictwa przemysłowego w Polsce. W kwestionariuszu uwzględniliśmy zmienne, które choć już wcześniej znajdowały swoje odniesienie w rozmaitych ujęciach teoretycznych, nigdy nie były jednak rozważane pod kątem praktyki. Wcześniejsze badania dotyczą bardziej szczegółowych zmiennych, które niekoniecznie dotykają specyfiki ekonomicznej, prawnej i środowiskowej. My wprowadzamy zestaw zmiennych, które mogą być wykorzystane do pomiaru efektywności zarządzania. Nasze badanie obejmuje 8 pytań podstawowych scharakteryzowanych przez 122 zmienne oraz 5 pytań metryczkowych. Wyniki badania ankietowego zostały zweryfikowane eksploracyjną analizą czynnikową (EFA), która pozwala na redukcję liczby zmiennych i koncentruje się na kluczowych czynnikach wpływających na efektywność zarządzania projektami budownictwa przemysłowego. W pracy staramy się również w sposób bardzo rzetelny i szczegółowy pokazać samą metodę badania EFA. Ta metoda badawcza pozwala na sprawdzenie wstępnej selekcji samych pytań w celu zaprojektowania odpowiedniego kwestionariusza.
