Purpose: The aim of the article was to propose the possibility of implementing a work standardisation card for a company in the passenger land transport industry – a ski lift. Design/methodology/approach: The analysed ski lift, located in Southern Poland, should undergo daily checks on the condition of its equipment to ensure trouble-free operation. Current non-standardised operations may increase the risk of error. The proposed document, the work standardisation card, makes it possible to supervise the control and minimise the possibility of failure. Findings: The introduction of the work standardisation card allows to increase the efficiency of the work and the analysis of the results obtained allowed to classify the most time-consuming activities. Research limitations/implications: In order to reduce costs, as a result of failures, and to increase quality and customer satisfaction, it is proposed to introduce documents as part of the working standard. Practical implications: Future research should focus on opportunities to further improve machine condition monitoring. The presented methodology can be applied to other activities that occur during ski lift operation, such as breakdowns. Originality/value: The work is a useful resource for companies in the tourism and transport industry and the transport sector, due to the universality of the standards used.

Opis:
Audiences, as well as media researchers, have rarely gained access to behind-the-scenes reality of media production. As a result, historically, there has been little knowledge of the day-to-day realities of film professionals. The recent interest of the Anglo-American academy in the perspective of media practitioners is uncovering previously hidden dynamics of the audio-visual industries. Inspired by John Thornton Caldwell’s production culture methodology, the author investigates the profession of a screenwriter by critically analysing the practitioners’ self-reflexive discourse. Such narratives reveal many of the nuances involved in audio-visual production, its social context and the status of the screenwriter in the Polish audio-visual industry. The author draws a rather grim portrait of the screenwriting profession as a film craft with a relatively low status, entangled in a network of dependencies and struggling with institutional misunderstanding of its key attributes.

Opis:
The article considers the thread of work in the Polish literature in the 1930s and 1950s.These two periods were divided by World War II. In Poland, this war lasted from 1939 to 1945.Also in the history of Polish literature, two different periods can be distinguished - before and after World War II. The motive of improvement of work was evident in the pre-war Polish literature, intended for readers from the countryside and for the intelligentsia involved in improving rural life. An impulse for the appearance of a work thread in literature was the study of sociologists regarding life in the countryside. Books describing the life of peasant families were published. The division of work between wife and husband was described. The analysis of the wife's working day and the schedule of works with hours were evidence of the hard life of a rural woman. The authors of the books not only described reality. They postulated greater concern for the health of rural women and demanded a different organization of work in rural households. Support for ideas contained in the literature was sought in education and in extramural vocational schools for girls and boys. However, curricula in vocational schools were not as sensitive to social issues as literature and the dreams of sociologists. The motif of improving work was different after 1945.Post-war literature was dependent on great politics, it was part of the propaganda of communism. Nowadays, literature has been created for workers working in factories and on construction sites. The most vocal thread of improving work was the idea of heroes of work, i.e. shock workers, which was created in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Soviet Communists called on all workers in other communist countries to work more efficiently. One of the books describes an experiment based on the analysis of work of two Soviet workers. It was calculated that one of the women worked a few seconds faster than the other. Soviet books were translated into Polish. Polish writers were also inspired by Soviet books. In Poland, as in other countries in the East of Europe, the work race was disseminated in many books written to order of communists. Information about shock workers reached the public through radio, press and propaganda books. The heroes described in the literature were artificial, they had little in common with real people. They were happy because of hard work, they had no problems and no existential doubts. The Communists wanted vocational schools to help in promoting the work race. However, the school programme was more resistant to propaganda than literature.

In order to assess the challenges and needs of Austrian companies with respect to current business and technological developments, a regular well-researched compilation of empirical data of the Austrian manufacturing industry is necessary. Hence, a panel of 104 decisionmakers (owners, CEOs, managing directors and plant managers) from leading Austrian industrial companies was assembled in form of an “industry panel” to investigate current issues of production work in Austria by means of a survey. In order to allow for a longitudinal study, it is planned to survey the same group of people every year; hence the instrument of an annual panel-survey was chosen. To date the panel consists of 104 leaders from different Austrian or international companies with at least one factory location in Austria. The panel was assembled first in 2018/2019 and the administered survey contained 23 questions. The actual questions comprise topics that concern the current economic situation and future expectations, operational issues with respect to delivery time, product variability and demand fluctuations, as well as questions relating to innovation, automation and the application of current technological developments (i.e. assistance systems, machine learning, etc.) in manufacturing. This paper presents the survey results and conclusions of the 2019 panel on production work in Austria.

Opis:
Terms such as Industry 4.0, Logistics 4.0, smart factory, smart logistics as well as digitalization can nowadays be regarded as keywords in both scientific and economic practice. What is taking place at the moment is the beginning of the fourth industrial revolution, which is driven by rapid technological advancements, especially visible in the field of digital transformation, autonomous machines or fully automated warehouses. Strong competition on the domestic and foreign market and growing customer expectations suggest that manufacturing companies should not only increase production on a constant basis, but they should find also a way to personalize it, which means manufacturing short series of products designed to meet the needs of specific customers, but also personalizing human work itself. In this system, or a kind of set-up, the role of the human and the consequent workload associated with a given job change. Technology is increasingly replacing not only physical human work, but also human beings as decision-makers. It is giving rise to completely new situations, in which it is necessary to search for new forms of cooperation between human beings and the technological/ environmental ones. This kind of production is the ultimate goal of the fourth industrial revolution. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the impact of digitalization and Industry 4.0 on the optimization of production processes, supply chain and human work. The authors discuss the concept of Industry 4.0, hence the fourth industrial revolution concerning system integration and networking. They present the assumptions of Logistics 4.0 and include adaptive, resource-efficient and user-friendly approaches, concepts. The authors also discuss the application of Lean management in the concept of Industry 4.0, and the ergonomic inclinations of the individual pillars of Industry 4.0. The conclusion summarizes the considerations on the impact of digitalization and Industry 4.0 on the improvement of production processes and work ergonomics.
Autorzy omawiają koncepcję Przemysłu 4.0, a więc czwartej rewolucji przemysłowej, dotyczącej integracji systemów i tworzenia sieci; przedstawiają założenia Logistyki 4.0 – podejścia, koncepcje adaptacyjne, zasobooszczędne i przyjazne dla użytkownika.

Standard measures of economic activity relate to goods and services offered by the market. Stiglitz’s report, however, suggests that not only monetary value or economic products create welfare, but non-monetary components should also be included in the System of National Accounts. Although household production is registered in official statistics, the main part of it, i.e. nearly 75-80% of the total home production remains outside of the GDP. The Household Production Satellite Account (HHSA) is a macroeconomic analysis covering both market and non-market home production. The National Time Transfer Accounts (NTTA) is, next to HHSA, an analysis aimed to register and observe the directions of transfers and to present the recipients and givers of home production. Regular estimations provided by the HHSA and NTTA may prove a valuable supporting tool to national accounts, pension systems, or social policy as they provide a great deal of macroeconomic information regarding households, their economic and living conditions, social changes, and welfare.

This paper attempts to analyze modern urban space in the context of intercepting the effects of biopolitical production by means of a conceptual apparatus taken from urban landscape studies. Among the discussed sections of urban space, which illustrate the issue undertaken in this text, there are first and foremost places that focalize and intertwine practices of urban design, landscape architecture, design and media initiated by local governments, institutions, and private investors. All of these practices strive to create a new type of urban landscapes, characterized by their simultaneous functioning as sights and as “urban stages.” Following from the above findings, this paper aims to describe the listed forms of land use in terms derived from cultural concepts of landscape, considering the latter to be a useful tool for explaining the relations between modern urban subjects and the environment they exist in.

The household production is a big aggregate which has no reflection in the current European system of national accounts. The market value of that production accounts for less than 10- 15% of the total household production. Generally, household production can be estimated using the input method. Unpaid household work is the main input. There were many proposals of the way of estimating household work, but most economists prefer the market cost method. The first full sequence of accounts, entitled the Household Production Satellite Account for Poland (HHSA) was developed for 2011. It was proven that the value of the household work constitutes approximately 80% of the total value of household production, while the total value of household production in relation to GDP amounted to approximately 36.5%. Providing the regular calculation of the HHSA, which is a supporting tool for the core national accounts, will allow the recognition and better understanding of the transfers and interactions between the market and households. The value and size of the goods and services produced by households can be compared with similar products produced on the market by enterprises.

Technological progress has brought a large amount of complex machinery into the work processes, which represents a potential source of serious injuries, accidents, or breakdowns. The aim of this paper is to follow new trends in the FMEA and their use in our study. We have chosen the Turning Machine Doosan V-Puma Doosan PUMA V550R Machining Centre with manufacturing diameters and mechanical machining operations. We have created the FMEA team, which participated in the entire evaluation and analysis. We identified possible failures and causes of failures in the given operations. We applied the conventional PFMEA and identified the RPN risk number. We also used DEMATEL model. Using DEMATEL matrices, we identified a binding between the individual failures and the causes of the failures. Some failures will become the main cause of other failures and the causes of the failures; some arise as a result of other failures or causes of failures. Finally, we evaluated the applicability of individual methods and models. By the DEMATEL model we clarified the significance and bindings between individual failures.

This article attempts to look at educational turn in art and its possible consequences from the perspective of contemporary female visual artists. What types of practices will be affected by educational turn? Which entities will actually benefit from it? Basing largely on her own research (in-depth interviews with female artists), the author analyses the artists’ attitudes to educational activities, which they either undertake or reject, and with respect to changes occurring in institutions of modern art that tend to be increasingly more focused on production of knowledge. Seeking to find answers to questions about the relationship between educational and artistic practices, the article also ponders on the feminisation of the sector of art and the visibility of women’s work in it.

Opis:
The oil and gas industry in Poland is burdened with relatively high investment risk. The main reason for this is the complex geology and relatively medium-sized resources that do not guarantee a return on an investment. The above factors have led to the necessity of sharing the risk to minimize the negative financial effect of the investment, which has resulted in the more and more frequent cooperation of several entities towards the realization of a specific project. The “shale revolution” has significantly contributed to the evolution of legal regulations in this area; i.e., the implementation of the act of June 9, 2011 – Geological and Mining Law (Journal of Laws of 2014, Item 1133). It introduces the concept of “cooperation agreement” for the purpose of the joint use of rights and execution of concession obligations in respect to the exploration and prospecting of hydrocarbon deposits as well as the extraction of hydrocarbons from deposits. In the article, the author intends to show that, contrary to the generally prevailing opinion, the new act of June 9, 2011 – Geological and Mining Law (Journal of Laws of 2011, No. 163, Item 981) was not only aimed at increasing state control over the activity in the field of exploration and production, but on the contrary – it was aimed at liberalizing the market and stimulating domestic and foreign entities to engage in exploration and production activities in Poland. The article presents a new and original approach in light of the interpretation of legal regulations based on which hydrocarbon exploration and production activities are carried out in Poland. The author uses the formal-dogmatic analysis method (otherwise known as the logical-linguistic analysis method) to clarify the archival, current, and abandoned legal acts pertaining to the macroeconomic environment. This method is well-known in law research.
