The aim of the study was to identify the problems and improve the production of cement in a ball mill in terms of technology and management associated with the use of known methods and techniques to improve quality. A detailed analysis helped to explain the process which affects the efficiency of grinding cement and which is the most common cause of disturbance and incompatibilities in the process of milling, how the production process is managed and controlled in order to obtain the required grain size, which is the main parameter influencing the quality of the manufactured product. To manage the change of the process there has been used a value stream map for analysis of the intermediate process of cement production, transport to the silos, bagging and selling. Based on the research some proposals of the process improvement have been designed that might have a chance of implementation and execution.

System gospodarczy nowoczesnego państwa wymaga sprawnego transportu samochodowego, który spełnia zasadniczą rolę w komunikacji i przewozach towarowych. Tak dynamiczny rozwój motoryzacji pociąga za sobą szereg skutków negatywnych przede wszystkim dla środowiska naturalnego, powodując zanieczyszczenie powietrza, gleby i wody oraz wzrost ilości produktów odpadowych powstałych podczas eksploatacji i likwidacji pojazdów samochodowych. Głównie ze względu na zagrożenie środowiska naturalnego niezbędne jest pełne zagospodarowanie produktów odpadowych w procesie recyklingu i utylizacji. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie wpływu recyklingu na zmiany oddziaływania środowiskowego podczas procesu produkcji pojazdu.
The economic system of the modern state requires efficient road transport which fulfills an essential role in communication and freight. Such a dynamic development of motorization entails a number of negative effects, especially for the environment, causing pollution of air, soil and water and increase the amount of waste products generated during operation and decommissioning of vehicles. Mainly because of the threat environment is necessary to complete development of waste products for recycling and disposal. The aim of this article is to present the impact of recycling on changes in the environmental impact during the manufacturing process of the vehicle.

Projektowanie i rozwój wyrobów produkowanych w przedsiębiorstwie budowy maszyn transportowych jest procesem bardzo złożonym i ma wpływ na całkowity cykl życia tych maszyn. Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja tego procesu w obrębie projektowania wyrobu jako części procesu rozwojowego z uwzględnieniem poszczególnych jego etapów. Proces rozwoju wyrobu został opracowany w postaci syntetycznego modelu, a następnie przedstawiony na przykładzie projektowania pojazdów szynowych z uwzględnieniem branżowej specyfiki poszczególnych danych wejściowych i wyjściowych. Przykład ten dotyczy konkretnych warunków przedsiębiorstwa produkcyjnego.
The product development process of products manufactured in transport equipment production enterprises is a very complex process and it influences the product life cycle of said equipment. The goal of the paper is to identify this process in the area of product design as a part of the whole development process, taking into consideration its particular stages and phases. The product development process was formulated as a general model and then presented on the design example of a handcar machine, taking into consideration the characteristic input and output data. This example concerns real conditions in a manufacturing enterprise.

The analysis of the production processes automation phenomenon in enterprises operating in Poland is the object of the presented chapter. The current state of automation of production processes has been also evaluated. The data presented in the chapter come from all types of analyses, reports and statistical data. The results of the analysis confirm that not only the production processes automation level of enterprises in Poland increases, but it also affects the flexibility of the production processes and the product quality improvement as well as financial effects of enterprises. In conclusion, authors underline that there are some barriers in the production processes automation implementing.

The control chart is a tool of statistical quality control, which is widely used in factories. The fulfillment of its basic assumptions ensures faultless assessing the monitored process. Infringements the assumptions of classical control charts can cause false signals in the case of a regulated process, either lack of signal or the signal delayed in time, when process is out-of-control. Incorrect assessment of the accuracy of the manufacturing process is of course the economic impact. In this paper, based on actual data an attempt to determine control limits for the manufacturing process of the distribution of the controlled characteristics, which is significantly different from a normal distribution, was taken. The result of this work is the method of determining the control limits based on the quantile of a random variable estimated by the kernel estimation. The article pays attention to the economic consequences of infringements the assumptions of classical control charts.

The article presents an algorithm that allows using fuzzy logic to determine the effective arrangement of production orders in the production system. The main criterion used to rate was the total cost related to delayed implementation of production orders. In addition, the sum of delays of all orders and the total time of order execution were assessed. The elaborated algorithm uses fuzzy inference and allows us to estimate dynamically the effectiveness of selecting the next order from orders awaiting execution. As a result, the computational complexity of the proposed algorithm is linear. The research was conducted to assess the usefulness of the proposed algorithm. To illustrate the possibilities of the proposed algorithm, the obtained rankings were compared with those obtained using typical heuristic rules (FIFO, EDD, Johnson’s algorithm, and min changeover time). The obtained results confirmed the benefits of the proposed algorithm for scheduling production orders. The developed algorithm was implemented in Matlab and research was carried out for different series of production orders.
