The problem of options pricing is one of the most critical issues and fundamental building blocks in mathematical finance. The research includes deployment of lower precision type in two options pricing algorithms: Black-Scholes and Monte Carlo simulation. We make an assumption that the shorter the number used for calculations is (in bits), the more operations we are able to perform in the same time. The results are examined by a comparison to the outputs of single and double precision types. The major goal of the study is to indicate whether the lower precision types can be used in financial mathematics. The findings indicate that Black-Scholes provided more precise outputs than the basic implementation of Monte Carlo simulation. Modification of the Monte Carlo algorithm is also proposed. The research shows the limitations and opportunities of the lower precision type usage. In order to benefit from the application in terms of the time of calculation improved algorithms can be implemented on GPU or FPGA. We conclude that under particular restrictions the lower precision calculation can be used in mathematical finance.

It has recently been shown that micropauses during long surgical procedures can be beneficial for surgeons’ precision and fatigue. The aim of the study was to evaluate the impact of micropauses on surgical precision measured by a simple smartphone application. Material and methods. Two surgeons performed 40 simple laparoscopic procedures (appendectomy and cholecystectomy) with or without micropauses. After the operation the precision of surgical movements was measured by a simple smartphone application in which the number of successful trials and their mean time were used as a precision surrogate. Results. Mean number of successful trials was significantly higher for appendectomy than for cholecystectomy (5.59 vs 4; p = 0.032). There was a difference between participating surgeons both in terms of number of successful trials (5.80 vs 3.55; p = 0.01) and a mean time of all successful trials (10.03 vs 6.28; p = 0.001). No other statistically significant differences were identified. Conclusion. Micropauses had no influence on surgical precision as evaluated after short laparoscopy procedures. The only differences were surgeon-dependent and intervention-dependent.

The paper presents causes of excessive precision distortions, appearing in electrospindles of HSC machining centres. The influence of changing ambient temperature is shown, as well as the precision of its modelling. Phenomena, which appear in the electrospindle unit during large rotational speed changes, have been presented and the functioning of bearing loading sleeve has been shown, which has the task of compensating thermal expansions of a spindle. Conditions of proper functioning of the sleeve have been presented, which should assure minimal displacements of a spindle. Also, possibilities of increasing bearing life span have been pointed out.

This article shows the aspects of precise modelling of precise High-speed Machining Centres for High-Speed Cutting (HSC) of parts used in the aerospace industry. The main focus was made on the thermal errors having a dominant influence on the precision of machining. Main assumptions for a hybrid thermal model of a centre thermal behaviour have been stated, taking into account the characteristics of heat sources. On the example of a 3-axis machining centre, measured runs of heating up and heat displacements have been shown, compared to these determined with the use of simulations of a behaviour in assumed working conditions. A special attention was drawn to the phenomena taking place in motorspindles, as well as to the displacements of a spindle face during high rotational speeds of spindles and step changes of rotational speeds. The significance and influence of the bearing preload and centrifugal forces on the spindle axial displacements was shown, which is decisive on the precision of part machining. Additionally, it was shown that the important component of a machining error is an error of spindle position identification by means of a linear encoder, resulting from the thermal deformation of a centre body, to which a quartz linear encoder is fixed.

Opis:
Machine tools are the main driver of economic, environmental and social sustainability in industrial production. The ongoing shift from mass production to highly individualized, small batch manufacturing requires machine tools to be more flexible to changing needs while maintaining at least the same level of productivity. However, flexibility and productivity are at odds with the necessity for resource and energy efficiency. At the same time, more sophisticated workpiece specifications are pushing the boundaries regarding precision and dynamics of machine tools. In such a high-performance context, machine safety plays a major role and is becoming increasingly challenging due to higher kinetic energies of moving components. This paper examines recent advances in machine tool precision, sustainability, and safety. Six comprehensive case studies are provided to illustrate how these improvements contribute to an increased productivity. Hardware and software solutions for pose-controlled robotic manufacturing and thermoelectrically tempered high-performance spindles will be presented. Modular machine tool frames based on building blocks and an adaptive cooling system with thermoelectric generators for linear direct drives demonstrate their major impact on resource and energy efficiency. Machine safety is addressed through an analysis of potential hazards as well as improved protective measures. Model-based predictions precisely identify critical process parameters that lead to unbalance-induced failure of slim tool extensions, while on the protection side, new statistical models are applied to assess the protective performance of safeguards much more accurately. The cutting-edge technologies for machine tools presented in this paper will help manufacturers to cope with current and future challenges in industrial production.

This paper addresses the issue of the control system of a precision seeder. This seeder is to be used to dispose seeds in one field in such way that the plants originated from those seeds resemble the pixels of a digital image, thus acting as a "garden printer". The seeder is developed to be used for seeding public gardens with complex images and shapes, but the knowledge obtained on its development is to be used as well in other fields of precision agriculture. After a brief description of the components of the seeder, the control algorithm will be presented, as well as the mathematical principles behind it. At the end of this document a field test, where the logo of the Industrial Institute of Agricultural Engineering was seeded/"printed" on the snow (in order to be visible), is shown.

The paper describes the concept of a novel measurement system designed for quick and inexpensive measurement of tolerances and assessment of roundness, especially suitable for the motor industry. The structure of measurement system and its algorithm of measurement data analysis are described in detail. The system underwent tests with the setting (master) rings of known tolerances and out-of-roundness. The results were compared with those obtained from the reference device PIK-2. The tested system exhibited a very good accuracy and proved to be a good measurement tool. It was implemented in the industrial enterprise.

The paper deal with testing of different GNSS measurement methods in highly accurate network for the objectives engineering surveying. The test is comprised of a set of measurement acquired by particular GNSS methods with different observation length. For purposes of the test, an appropriate network of five points in local system was created and accurately trigonometrically measured. The result of testing is a comparison of individual methods in position using two dimensional congruent transformation and in height using one dimensional congruent transformation.

Adequate knowledge in the areas of intelligent coordinate metrology and design are important presuppositions to achieve waste free production and low costs of manufacturing with higher quality and accuracy at the same time. This is of extreme importance in present time of worldwide international competition in industry and production and at the same time increasingly higher costs of energy and raw material. The prescription and consumption of material and energy to achieve the necessary and required workpiece accuracy in series manufacturing depends to a great extent from the (geometrical) workpiece tolerances of any kind (roughness, form, positional, dimensional) which are prescribed for the production and the fulfillment of these tolerances and therefore for the function of the produced workpieces and their fitness for practical application and none the less of the economy of production altogether. This requirement is of great importance at the time being which is characterized as described above.

Opis:
Precision milling of free (curved) surfaces with the use of monolithic milling cutters is used in the production of hardened steel elements such as dies, molds, or press tools. Precision milling processes are carried out with the following milling parameters: axial cutting depth ap <0.3 mm, cutting width ae <0.5 mm and the required machining accuracy below 40 µm. The quality of the obtained surfaces in injection molds is directly transferred to the quality of the molded part. One of the key criteria for the manufactured elements is the surface quality which is mainly assessed by the roughness parameters. Due to the use of carbide tools high reliability and quality of machining is obtained which allows to eliminate the grinding process. In precision milling processes, due to the very small radius of the cutting edge and the cross-sections of the cutting layers, the conditions that must be met for the decohesion process to occur are fundamentally diff erent from macro-scale. The minimum value range of ap and ae parameters was determined in a carried-out experiment, which allows for stable and repeatable machining. The tests were carried out with double-edge shank cutters with a diameter of 6 mm on a workpiece made out of WCVL hardened steel 45–47 HRC. Recommended machining conditions have been defi ned to ensure the required technological quality of the surface layer. The research was fi nanced under the research project POIR.01.01.01-000890/17 co-fi nanced by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund.

This paper presents methods to plan predictive maintenance for precision assembly tasks. One of the key aspects of this approach is handling the abnormalities during the development phase, i.e. before and during process implementation. The goal is to identify abnormalities which are prone to failure and finding methods to monitor them. To achieve this, an example assembly system is presented. A Failure Mode and Effects Analysis is then applied to this assembly system to show which key elements influence the overall product quality. Methods to monitor these elements are presented. A unique aspect of this approach is exploring additional routines which can be incorporated in the process to identify machine specific problems. As explained within the paper, the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis shows that the resulting quality in a case study from a precision assembly task is dependent on the precision of the rotational axis. Although the rotational axis plays a significant role in the resulting error, it is hard to explicitly find a correlation between its degradation and produced parts. To overcome this, an additional routine is added to the production process, which directly collects information about the rotational axis. In addition to the overall concept, this routine is discussed and its ability to monitor the rotational axis is confirmed in the paper.

This paper presents a general characteristic of modern cutting machine tools and their role in achieving high machining performance. The determinants of machine tool development, stemming from the constant development of products and their complexity and from market demands, are discussed in detail. Special attention is devoted to the improvement of the machine tool structure and its variations created in response to the continuous and flexible increase in machining efficiency. The importance of developing multitask, hybrid and reconfigurable structures is discussed. The essence of the development of multi-spindle units as the modules having a decisive influence on machining performance, precision and costs is described. Moreover, trends in the development of feed units and distance measuring systems are presented.

The system of positioning of agricultural machines makes the performing of field operations in optimal conditions possible, considering such factors as crop density, soil fertility and moisture content etc. Polish agriculture faces a number of barriers making the prompt spreading of positioning by satellite difficult. The paper presents the concept of the DGPS in polish agriculture, compared with precision farming in the USA and EU.

The dilution of precision (DOP) in satellite navigation system provides a simple characterization of the user-satellite geometry and a quantitative assessment of the positioning constellation configuration. The essential idea of physical augmentation factor of precision (PAFP) proposed in this work, is that navigation signals are transmitted at multiple frequencies from each visible satellite in the positioning constellation, while users measure the corresponding multiple pseudoranges of satellites to achieve high precision code positioning. As the multiple pseudoranges of one satellite are measured independently by the corresponding navigation signals at different frequencies, it is reasonable to treat the measurement errors due to the satellite clock and ephemeris, the atmospheric propagation as uncorrelated, random, and identically distributed. The multipath effects and receiver noise are also processed with some empirical models. By measuring user-satellite code pseudoranges at different frequencies, the PAFP offers a scheme that produces the same effect as that of the redundant-overlapping constellation, thus equivalently improving the geometric DOP. It can effectively improve code positioning precision of satellite navigation system.

Introduction: The assessment and comparison of the precision and frequency of movement in épée fencers representing various sport classes, and the determination of the influence of three-year symmetrical and unilateral training on dynamic asymmetry. Material and Methods: The research was conducted in 60 female épée fencers, who were divided into four groups according to the sport class they represent (n= 15). In group I there were medalists of the World and European Championships, in group II - medalist of the Polish Championships. Group III and IV consisted of players who achieved successes at the Warsaw Championships. After three years of symmetrical training, the tests were repeated in groups III and IV. The tests were carried out using the Vienna Test System with the aid of the Motor Performance Series device (S2 test), which allows the assessment of coordination skills in terms of fine motor skills. Results: In the conducted research, significant differences in the asymmetry of the upper limbs in the aiming and tapping tests were found in all data groups. The differences in the tests obtained with the dominant and non-dominant upper limb confirm the greatest dynamic asymmetry in the female fencers from the Masters Class. After three years of symmetrical training in the experimental group and unilateral training in the control group, statistically significant differences were observed in all the trials performed with the dominant and non-dominant upper limb. However, in the experimental group of épée fencers, the dynamic asymmetry in the aiming indicators was lower than in the control group. Conclusions: Dynamic asymmetry in terms of the precision and frequency of movement was recorded in all studied groups. High-class épée fencers were characterized by the most significant difference between the results obtained with the dominant and non-dominant upper limbs, which is the result of long-term unilateral training. The three-year symmetrical training conducted in the experimental group had a positive effect on the precision and frequency of movement, however, it did not prevent the occurrence of dynamic asymmetry in the participants. The unilateral training used in the control group further increased the asymmetry of movement in the sportswomen.

Applications in geodesy and engineering surveying require the determination of the heights of the vertical control points in the national and local networks using different techniques. These techniques can be classified as geometric, trigonometric, barometric and Global Positioning System (GPS) levelling. The aim of this study is to analyse height differences obtained from these three techniques using precise digital level and digital level, total station (trigonometric levelling) and GPS which collects phase and code observations (GPS levelling). The accuracies of these methods are analysed. The results obtained show that the precise digital levelling is more stable and reliable than the other two methods. The results of the three levelling methods agree with each other within a few millimetres. The different levelling methods are compared. Geometric levelling is usually accepted as being more accurate than the other methods. The discrepancy between geometric levelling and short range trigonometric levelling is at the level of 8 millimetres. The accuracy of the short range trigonometric levelling is due the reciprocal and simultaneous observations of the zenith angles and slope distances over relative short distances of 250 m. The difference between the ellipsoidal height differences obtained from the GPS levelling used without geoid and the orthometric height differences obtained from precise geometric levelling is 4 millimetres. The geoid model which is obtained from a fifth order polynomial fit of the project area is good enough in this study. The discrepancy between the precise geometric and GPS levelling (with geoid corrections) is 4 millimetres over 5 km.

This paper presents an automation process is a need in the agricultural industry specifically chili crops, that implemented image processing techniques and classification of chili crops usually based on their color, shape, and texture. The goal of this study was to develop a portable sorting machine that will be able to segregate chili based on their color by using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and to analyze the performance by using the Plot Confusion method. A sample of ten green chili images and ten red chili images was trained by using Learning Algorithm in MATLAB program that included a feature extraction process and tested by comparing the performance with a larger dataset, which are 40 samples of chili images. The trained network from 20 samples produced an overall accuracy of 80 percent and above, while the trained network from 40 samples produced an overall accuracy of 85 percent. These results indicate the importance of further study as the design of the smart sorting machine was general enough to be used in the agricultural industry that requires a high volume of chili crops and with other differentiating features to be processed at the same time. Improvements can be made to the sorting system but will come at a higher price.

Badania przeprowadzono w warunkach laboratoryjnych na specjalnym stanowisku przy najkorzystniejszej prędkości roboczej siewników i ich zespołów wysiewających wynoszącej 0,5 m/s (określono ją we wstępnych badaniach siewników, w których analizowano wpływ prędkości roboczej siewników i ich zespołów wysiewających na jakość siewu nasion marchwi). Analiza statystyczna uzyskanych wyników nie wykazała istotnych różnic między udziałami wysiewów pojedynczych, podwójnych i przepustów. Można więc uznać, że przy jednakowej prędkości roboczej siewników i ich zespołów wysiewających wynoszącej 0,5 m/s wysiewały one nasiona marchwi w rzędach z podobną precyzją.
Precision of carrot seed distribution in the rows was compared at sowing with two drills: S071 Kruk (spoon sowing assembly) and S011 Alex (belt sowing assembly). The investigations were carried out under laboratory conditions on a special testing stand, at most convenient working speed of the drills and their sowing assemblies, as determined during previous preliminary tests. Working speed of the drills amounting 0.5 m/s, as well as the speed of their sowing assemblies, were constant. Statistical analysis of obtained results showed no significant differences among the rates of singular sowing, double sowing and the omissions. Thus, it could be stated that at most convenient working speed both tested drills sowed carrot seeds in the rows with similar accuracy.

High precise measurement techniques and surface structure analysis are required in advanced fields of interchangeable manufacturing and precision engineering. This study presents the characterization of the surface roughness of the machined milling cutters by experimental precision measurements and the image processing tool. The data obtained are compared to assess the surface characterization parameters and computational data in terms of precision, accuracy, sensitivity, repeatability and resolution. In the experimental measurement phase, the roughness measurements and surface topography characterization were performed in the nanotechnology laboratory using the stylus profilometry and digital microscopy. The computational phase was performed using an image processing toolbox with precise evaluation of the roughness for the machined metal surfaces of the end mill cutting tool. The surface parameter database is established exhibiting an advantage over the traditional method. This study reveals a comparison methodology of the end mill surface parameters using both stylus readings and image processing software for widely used end mill cutting tools that have considerable effect on characterization of sensitive manufacturing surface of millings.

Badania przeprowadzono w warunkach laboratoryjnych na specjalnym stanowisku przy najkorzystniejszych prędkościach roboczych siewników, które określono w badaniach wstępnych. Podczas badań porównawczych prędkość robocza siewników wynosiła od 0,5 do 0,7 mźs-1. Analiza statystyczna uzyskanych wyników wykazała istotne różnice między udziałami wysiewów pojedynczych, podwójnych i przepustów, a więc zmiany prędkości roboczej siewników w badanym zakresie wpływały na dokładność rozmieszczenia nasion w rzędach.
The research involved comparison of spacing accuracy for the Polanowska variety onion seeds sown in rows using seeders of the following types: S011 Alex with belt drill and S071 Kruk with cup-feed drill. The tests were performed in laboratory conditions at special test stand at most favourable working speeds of seeders, determined during preliminary studies. Seeders working speed during comparative tests ranged from 0.5 to 0.7 mźs-1. Statistical analysis of obtained results has proven significant differences in the shares of single sowing, double sowing and passes, and thus changes in working speed of seed drills within the examined range had effect on the accuracy seed spacing in rows.

Methods of diagnosing technical condition of aircraft hydraulic systems have been analysed. Associated precision pairs of aircraft hydraulic systems have been presented. The most essential features of operating conditions and the loads that affect distributor components of sliding pairs have been identified. The structure of BU intensifier with a sliding distributor has been illustrated. Equation for internal leakages for a precision hydraulic pair with a concentric annular gap (clearance) has been presented. Illustrated and discussed are instances of examining internal leakages occurring in hydraulic systems (with direct methods applied). Findings of research into these issues have been presented as based on measurements taken on the hydraulic system of the Su-22 operated by the Air Force of the Republic of Poland. The technique of examining the problem consists in taking and recording measurements of the drop in pressure in the hydraulic system. The relationship between time of pressure-drop and total leakage for hydraulic systems of particular Su-22 aircraft has been illustrated. The results of research direct and indirect methods have been presented and analysed. Both methods have been compared from the aspect of assessing technical condition of the aircraft hydraulic system. Potential factors that could affect measurements with a given method have been identified.

A set of sound power assessments was performed to determine measurement precision in specified conditions by the comparison method in a reverberation room with a fixed position array of six microphones. Six blenders (or mixers) and, complementary, a reference sound source were the noise sources. Five or six sound power calculations were undertaken on each noise source, and the standard deviation (sr) was computed as “measurement precision under repeatability conditions” for each octave band from 125 Hz to 8 kHz, and in dB(A). With the results obtained, values of sr equal 1.0 dB for 125 Hz and 250 Hz, 0.8 dB for 500 Hz to 2 kHz, and 0.5 dB for 4 kHz and 8 kHz. Those can be considered representative as sound power precision for blenders according to the measurement method used. The standard deviation of repeatability for the A-weighted sound power level equals 0.6 dB. This paper could be used for house or laboratory tests to check where their uncertainty assessment for sound power determination is similar or not to those generated at the National Metrology Institute.

W opracowaniu przedstawiono oszczędności wynikające z zastosowania nawożenia azotowego w II i III dawce wyznaczonej na podstawie pomiaru intensywności barwy zielonej, będącej w związku ze stanem odżywienia roślin tym makroelementem. Całkowite zapotrzebowanie na azot oszacowano na podstawie założonego plonu i zawartości azotu mineralnego w glebie. Określenie drugiej i kolejnych dawek odbywało się na podstawie zawartości chlorofilu w liściach mierzonego przy pomocy urządzenia SPAD 502DL firmy Spectrum Technologies Inc. W porównaniu z nawożeniem jednorodnym, na polu nawożonym zmiennie miał miejsce wzrost plonu o 3,2%, mimo mniejszego o ok. 14% zużycia azotu ogółem.
The paper deals with possible reduction of outlays that result from considering chlorophyll content in plant leaves at application of second and third rates of nitrogen. Estimation of the overall demand for nitrogen was based on the assumed yield and the content of mineral nitrogen in soil. Determination of second and third rate of nitrogen was based on SPAD data, collected by chlorophyll meter SPAD 502DL, a product of Spectrum Technologies Inc. Variable nitrogen application resulted in 3,2% higher yield and 14% lower nitrogen demand in comparison with uniform rate fertilization.

The possibility of chaotic oscillations in them is determined. The structure of the chaotic oscillations in the DC converter is considered. The system stability at various gain values of the feedback signal is investigated. The task is building a precision DC buck converter. The goal is achieved by means of providing high feedback signal gain converter operation mode. The work of the converter is commended in a case of: a) changing the input voltage; b) changing the value of the load resistance. It is shown that while ensuring the appropriate converter operation mode it is possible to improve stabilising properties and reduce the system operation frequency.

W artykule omówiono czynniki wpływające na dokładność pomiarów optycznych realizowanych za pomocą systemów wizyjnych. Zwrócono uwagę na wpływ jakości badanej powierzchni, wynikającej z wad ostrza narzędzia obróbkowego. Podkreślono znaczenie obiektywów telecentrycznych i oświetlenia skolimowanego dla minimalizacji nieprawidłowości detekcji krawędzi. Przedstawiono możliwości pomiarów charakterystyk elementów optycznych tj. ich dystorsję oraz funkcję przenoszenia modulacji MTF.
The paper discusses factors influencing the accuracy and precision of optical measurements realized by machine vision. The attention was turned to the quality of examined surface, resulting from defects on tool edge. The importance of telecentric lenses and collimated illumination for minimizing incorrect edge detection was stressed. The possibilities of optical elements characteristics measurement was presented e.g. distortion, and modulation transfer function MTF.

A new edition of the standard specification for liquefied hydrocarbon gas EN 589:2018 was introduced in 2018, which changes some parameters for this fuel, including the acceptable sulfur content. Also, this specification constitutes a new standard for determining volatile sulfur content in LPG, i.e. EN 17178: 2019. Studies were carried out to determine the precision of the method according to the above European standard. Repeatability was determined based on tests of 11 LPG samples with different sulfur content and next it was compared with the values given in the applicable standards: EN 17178: 2019 and ASTM D 6667-14 used until now. Each sample was analyzed 7 times. The repeatability values calculated according to EN 17178: 2019 are much lower than the repeatability according to ASTM D 6667-14 and the repeatability determined in this paper for samples with a concentration range above 4 mg/kg. The repeatability values determined in this work are lower than the values calculated according to EN 17178: 2019 and ASTM D 6667-14 for samples with concentrations below 4 mg/kg. The obtained results confirm the legitimacy of reservations of many European laboratories that perform tests of sulfur content in LPG and participants of the work of the CEN/TC 19/WG 23 N 231 working group, with regard of the correctness of determining the precision of the method pursuant to EN 17178: 2019. It was decided consequently to repeat interlaboratory studies that will be aimed at the determination of a new precision, which will soon be carried out. In addition, the intermediate precision, limit of detection (LD) and limit of quantitation (LQ) of the method were determined. The method was verified by examining 139 samples of commercial LPG fuel. The tested samples were eval- uated for compliance with the specifications from 2012 and 2018. It was found that by testing samples according to EN 17178:2019, the criterion for assessing compliance with the requirements of the specification on LPG is tightened compared to testing according to the ASTM D 6667-14 standard.

The healthcare industry is one of the many out there that could majorly benefit from advancement in the technology it utilizes. Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are especially integral and specifically deep learning (DL); a highly useful data-driven technology. It is applied in a variety of different methods but it mainly depends on the structure of the available data. However, with varying applications, this technology produces data in different contexts with particular connotations. Reports which are the images of scans play a great role in identifying the existence of the disease in a patient. Further, the automation in processing these images using technology like CNN-based models makes it highly efficient in reducing human errors otherwise resulting in large data. Hence this study presents a hybrid deep learning architecture to classify the histopathology images to identify the presence of cancer in a patient. Further, the proposed models are parallelized using the TensorFlow-GPU framework to accelerate the training of these deep CNN (Convolution Neural Networks) archi-tectures. This study uses the transfer learning technique during training and early stopping criteria are used to avoid overfitting during the training phase. these models use LSTM parallel layer imposed in the model to experiment with four considered architectures such as MobileNet, VGG16, and ResNet with 101 and 152 layers. The experimental results produced by these hybrid models show that the capability of Hybrid ResNet101 and Hybrid ResNet152 architectures are highly suitable with an accuracy of 90% and 92%. Finally, this study concludes that the proposed Hybrid ResNet-152 architecture is highly efficient in classifying the histopathology images. The proposed study has conducted a well-focused and detailed experimental study which will further help researchers to understand the deep CNN architectures to be applied in application development.

Rising food prices mean that solutions are sought that will reduce the costs of agricultural production. One area of research is precision agriculture. This solution requires a computerized plant growth monitoring system. The paper presents a computer system for monitoring plant growth, developed for the needs of precision agriculture for small agricultural areas. The work contains a description of the monitoring system divided into the key elements of the process. An exemplary method of preparing orthophotomaps of the area was presented. The method of making maps that can be implemented on a personal computer has been described. The paper describes the most frequently used Geologic Indicators and Vegetation Index. A test of determining the coefficients was carried out on exemplary acreage with an area of 5.28 ha. Typical positioning systems for agricultural machines are discussed. The DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System) navigation method was used in the tests, which confirmed that it can be used in precision agriculture for small agricultural areas while maintaining sufficient positioning accuracy. The presented system was tested during one cycle of vegetation of winter barley sown with the no-plowing method. On this basis, an analysis of savings resulting from the reduction of the amount of fertilizers and plant care products used was carried out. The proposed system does not require complicated computer systems. It was designed in such a way that it can be implemented on standard PC equipment cooperating with a short-range drone equipped with a standard RGB (Red Green Blue) camera.

Wyznaczono powierzchnię uprawy, dla której zastosowanie kilku zaproponowanych zestawów sprzętu wraz z oprogramowaniem do rolnictwa precyzyjnego byłoby już opłacalne. Obliczenia wykonano na podstawie rocznych kosztów utrzymania takiego wyposażenia w przeliczeniu na hektar, dla powierzchni w zakresie 50-1000 ha, oraz na podstawie oszczędności, uzyskanych wskutek wykonania przestrzennie zmiennego nawożenia. Wyznaczone powierzchnie opłacalności, w zależności od zestawu, metody liczenia oraz uzyskanych oszczędności, wynoszą 160-575 ha. Stabilizacja kosztów stałych w przeliczeniu na hektar wystąpiła w większości przypadków w przedziale 450-600 ha.
The areas of wheat, rape and maize cropping were determined, for which the application of several sets of equipment together with the software for precision agriculture would be profitable. Calculations were based on annual costs of using such equipment per 1 ha, for the areas ranging from 50 to 1000 ha; the savings in costs obtained owing to application of spatially diversified fertilization were considered as well. Determined areas of profitability, depending on the equipment set, computation method and savings obtained, amount to 160-575 ha. Stabilization of the fixed costs accounted per 1 ha, occurred in most cases within the range of 450-600 ha.

The problems of coherence and comparability exceed the classical notion of analysis of survey errors, because they do not concern single surveys or variables but the question of how results of two or more surveys can be used together and how relevant data can effectively be compared to obtain a better picture of social and economic phenomena over various aspects, e.g. space or time. This paper discusses characteristics of the main concepts of coherence and comparability as well as a description of differences and similarities between these two notions. Types of coherence and various aspects of perception of these notions in business statistics are analysed. Main sources of lack of coherence and comparability, factors affecting them (e.g. methodology, time, region, etc.) and methods of their measurement in context of information obtained from businesses will be also presented.

In the external target experiment for heavy ion collisions in the HIRFL-CSR, Multi-Wire Drift Chambers are used to measure the drift time of charged particles to obtain the track information. This 128-channel high precision time measurement module is designed to perform the time digitization. The data transfer is based on a PXI interface to guarantee a high data rate. Test results show that a 100 ps resolution with a data transfer rate up to 40 MBps has been achieved; this module has also been proven to function well with the detector through a commissioning test.

On the basis of induction heating, radiation heating and liquid nitrogen refrigeration, high-temperature, medium-temperature, normal-temperature and low-temperature heating/refrigeration furnaces were designed, respectively. An apparatus with a wide temperature range and high accuracy applied to test oxidation resistance of materials has been developed based on the thermogravimetric method and the heat transfer principle. The apparatus consists of four heating/cooling systems, a specimen fixture positioning unit, a laser positioning unit, vertical and horizontal moving guide rails, and a high-precision weighing balance. The apparatus, based on the thermogravimetric method, is able to test oxidation resistance of materials. In the test, the temperature range was -180~3000°C (the highest temperature is determined by material properties). The temperature control accuracy was ±5°C. The accuracy of on-line weighing was ±0.1 mg. The measurement uncertainty was 0.2 mg. Compared with other relevant devices, this apparatus has its own advantages: simple operation, wide heating/cooling temperature range, sufficient specimen heating, high sensitivity and precision, and short heating/cooling time. The experimental results show that the developed apparatus presented in this study not only can be used for isothermal thermogravimetric tests, but also for thermal cycling tests and multi-step oxidation tests. With the effective integration of multiple heating apparatus and refrigeration apparatus, the apparatus breaks through the limitations of the heating/cooling temperature range of the existing devices, accomplishes the high-precision oxidation resistance test of materials in a wide temperature range, and will play a great role in improving the research of materials.

Celem badań było przeprowadzenie pomiarów dokładności pozycjonowania i diagnostyki tokarki sterowanej numerycznie CTX 410 Gildemeister. Do pomiarów dokładności pozycjonowania wykorzystano Interferometr Laserowy XL-80, a do diagnostyki „Szybki Test” Ballbar QC-10. Analiza uzyskanych pomiarów wykazała, że wartości mierzone nie mieściły się w tolerancji wartości dopuszczalnych dla tej obrabiarki.
The aim of the research was to make measurements and diagnostics positioning of a numerically controlled lathe-Gildemeister CTX 410. An interferometr laser XL-80 was used for measurements of the positioning accuracy. The roundness test and diagnostics were carried out using "Quick Test" Ballbar. The first section of the paper lists the reasons for inaccuracies of machines and why they are so important. There is the basic information about the testing equipment which enable their measurements. In the next section the equipment is described in details. There is also described the method of installation and testing process. For each type of measurement the equipment configuration was different. It was determined by the workspace and machine capabilities. Section 3 contains some results of investigations. The analysis of the measurements shows that the measured values do not fit in the tolerance limits for this machine.

The reasons of the work theme have been pointed up. The nature and area of study and criteria for assessment of the impact of grinding wheels grade on the grinding accuracy have been defined. The results of comparative experimental studies of surface roughness, waviness and shape error after axial grinding, which compared a corundum and new generation TGP corundum grade have been presented and discussed.

A study was conducted to investigate the effects of repetitive light tasks of low and high precision on upper limb muscles and brain activities. Surface electromyography (EMG) and electroencephalography (EEG) were used to measure the muscle and brain activity of 10 subjects. The results show that the root-mean-square (RMS) and mean power frquency (MPF) of the muscle activity and the mean power of the EEG alpha bands were higher on the high-precision task than on the low-precision one. There was also a high and significant correlation between upper limb muscle and brain activity during the tasks. The longer the time and the more precise the task, the more the subjects become fatigued both physically and mentally. Thus, these results could be potentially useful in managing fatigue, especially fatique related to muscle and mental workload.

This paper presents a comprehensive metrological analysis of the Microsoft Kinect motion sensor performed using a proprietary flat marker. The designed marker was used to estimate its position in the external coordinate system associated with the sensor. The study includes calibration of the RGB and IR cameras, parameter identification and image registration. The metrological analysis is based on the data corrected for sensor optical distortions. From the metrological point of view, localization errors are related to the distance of an object from the sensor. Therefore, the rotation angles were determined and an accuracy assessment of the depth maps was performed. The analysis was carried out for the distances from the marker in the range of 0.8-1.65 m. The maximum average error was equal to 23 mm for the distance of 1.6 m.

The objective of this research is to estimate the model risk, represented as precision, and the accuracy of the Value at Risk (VaR) measure, under three different approaches: historical simulation (HS), Monte Carlo (MC), and generalized ARCH (GARCH). In this work, to analyze the VaR model, the accuracy and precision were used. Estimation of the accuracy and precision was done under the three approaches for four European banks at 95 and 99% confidence levels. The percentage crossings and Kupiec POF were used to judge the model accuracy, whereas the ratio of the maximum and minimum VaR estimates, and the spread between the maximum and minimum VaR estimates were used to estimate the model risk. This was achieved by changing input parameters, specifically, the estimation time window (125, 250, 500 days). Implications/Recommendations: The accuracy alone is not sufficient to evaluate a model and precision is also required. The temporal evolution of the precision metrics showed that the VaR approaches were inconsistent under different market conditions. This article focuses on the accuracy and precision concepts applied to estimate model risk of the Value at Risk (VaR). VaR is the foundation for sophisticated risk metrics, including systemic risk measures like Marginal Expected Shortfall and Delta Conditional Value at Risk. Thus, understanding the risk associated with the use of VaR is crucial for finance practitioners.

In this paper the relationships between the alternative machining paths and flatness deviations of the aluminum plate part, were presented. The flatness tolerance of the main surface of the plate part has crucial meaning due to the assembly requirement of piezoelectric elements on the radiator. The aluminum bodies under investigation are the base part of the radiators with crimped feathers for the train industry. The surface of the aluminum plate part was milled using three different milling strategies: along of longer or shorter side of workpiece and at an angle of 45°. The aluminum bodies were machined on milling centre ecoMILL 70 DMG MORI. The flatness deviation measurements were carried out on the Coordinated Measuring Machine Altera 7.5.5 Nikon Metrology NV. These measurements were made during the manufacturing process of the radiator, namely after machining, however, before the process crimping of feathers. The results that were obtained enables the validation of assumed milling path strategies in connection of the subsequent machining and assembly processes.

Depending on its stage, stress influences cognitive functions. Indeed, several authors have ensured the degradation of cognitive functions by stress. Others did not find any association between the two. A third group of authors claimed that stress improves the performance of certain cognitive functions. Faced with this inconsistency of results, we conducted this study with the aim of finding out whether job stress alters or stimulates cognitive functions. Our study focused on 102 workers who were asked to freely and anonymously complete a questionnaire deemed relevant at the international scale. The age of the participants is between 22 and 60 years old with an average of 37 years and a standard deviation of 11 years. The population is made up of 77% of men and 23% of women. For the school level of the subjects: 50% of the subjects have a level bac to bac+2, 30% have a level higher than bac+2 and 20% have a level lower than bac. The professional status of workers is divided into three types: 48% are supervisors and technicians, 32% are executing workers and 20% are senior managers. The participants underwent two neurocognitive tests using the ELIAN software. Analysis of the results shows that there is no significant link between work stress and the cognitive functions studied. However, the analysis of the results of each socio-professional category separately shows that stress significantly reduces the visual working memory score of young people (< 40 years old), as well as the ability to concentrate of subjects with a school level higher than bac+2. While it improves visual perception in men and old people over the age of 40. There are significant links between some cognitive performances and the socio-professional characteristics of the stressed subjects. Therefore, work stress can affect neurocognitive health, which is more serious. In order to understand the relationship between work or chronic stress and cognition as well as their moderating factors, it is advisable to increase the size of the sample and to diversify the cognitive functions studied as well as their tasks.

This paper describes an approach to estimate the photosynthetic capacity and derive the optimum fruit number for each individual tree, in order to achieve a defined fruit size, which is named as the fruit bearing capacity of the tree. The estimation of fruit bearing capacity was carried out considering the total leaf area per tree as measured with a 2-D LiDAR laser scanner, LALiDAR, and key carbon-related variables of the trees including leaf gas exchange, fruit growth and respiration, in two commercial apple orchards. The range between minLALiDAR and maxLALiDAR was found to be 2.4 m² on Pinova and 4.3 m² on RoHo 3615 at fully developed canopy. The daily C requirement of the growing fruit and the associated leaf area demand, necessary to meet the average daily fruit C requirements showed seasonal variation, with maximum values in the middle of the growing period. The estimated fruit bearing capacity ranged from 33-95 fruit tree-1 and 45-121 fruit tree-1 on the trees of Pinova and RoHo 3615, respectively. This finding demonstrates sub-optimal crop load at harvest time in both orchards, above or below the fruit bearing capacity for individual trees. In conclusion, the LiDAR measurements of the leaf area combined with a carbon balance model allows for the estimation of fruit bearing capacity for individual trees for precise crop load management.

While analyzing shape accuracy of ferroalloy precision castings in terms of ceramic moulds physical anisotropy, low-alloy steel castings ("cover") and cast iron ("plate") were included. The basic parameters in addition to the product linear shape accuracy are flatness deviations, especially due to the expanded flat surface which is cast plate. For mentioned castings surface micro-geometry analysis was also carried, favoring surface load capacity tp50 for Rmax = 50%. Surface load capacity tp50 obtained for the cast cover was compared with machined product, and casting plate surface was compared with wear part of the conveyor belt. The results were referred to anisotropy of ceramic moulds physical properties, which was evaluated by studying ceramic moulds samples in computer tomography equipment Metrotom 800.

Mapy rozmieszczenia plonu ziarna na powierzchni pola sporządza się na podstawie zarejestrowanych w trakcie zbioru danych o pozycji geograficznej kombajnu i natężeniu strumienia ziarna dopływającego do jego zbiornika. Dane te są obarczone licznymi losowymi błędami i wymagają intensywnej obróbki statystycznej, polegającej na ich transpozycji, filtrowaniu, uśrednianiu i interpolacji. W pracy zaproponowano procedurę interpolacyjno-uśredniającą z wykorzystaniem wykładniczej funkcji wagowej. Procedurę tę zaimplementowano w wykonanym w ramach niniejszej pracy programie komputerowym do opracowywania oraz graficznej prezentacji cyfrowych map plonu. Porównano zaproponowaną metodę z powszechnie stosowaną metodą odwrotnych odległości. Na podstawie eksperymentów cyfrowych stwierdzono, że metoda wykorzystująca wykładniczą funkcję wagową pozwala na uzyskanie lepszego przybliżenia rzeczywistego rozkładu plonu niż metoda odwrotnych odległości.
Yield maps are constructed on the base of raw data (geographical position and grain flow) logged on the combine in the course of harvest. Such data are greatly distorted by errors originating from many different sources. Some of those errors can be eliminated by transposition, filtration and interpolation of the raw data. In this work an averaging - interpolation procedure, based on the weighted averages using the exponential weighting function is described. The special computer program for constructing numerical yield maps and testing the selected statistical procedures for yield data processing was written and tested. The numerical experiments has pointed out, that the newly proposed method has better ability to eliminate the random errors of yield function then inverse distance procedure broadly used in practice.

Przedstawiono wyniki analizy jakości siewu nasion marchwi siewnikiem S011 Alex w warunkach laboratoryjnych i polowych. Badania laboratoryjne przeprowadzono na specjalnym stanowisku, a polowe w gospodarstwie rolnym położonym w woj. lubelskim. Realizowano je przy trzech prędkościach roboczych siewnika, tj. 0,7; 1,0 i 1,4 m/s. Uzyskane wyniki poddano analizie statystycznej, która potwierdziła ujemną korelację wskaźników jakości siewu i prędkości roboczej siewnika w badaniach laboratoryjnych i polowych.
Paper presents the results of quality analysis of carrot seeding by means of S011 Alex seeder in laboratory and field conditions. Laboratory tests were carried out on a specially designed testing stand and the field ones on an agricultural farm located in the Lublin province. In both tests three operating seeder speeds were used, i.e. 0,7; 1,0 and 1,4 m/s. Obtained results were made subject to statistical analysis which confirmed a negative correlation of coefficients of seeding quality and seeder operating speed in both laboratory and field conditions.
