Opis:
Problems related to power control of low power-output steam turbines are analyzed. These turbines are designed to operate in distributed power generation systems. Principles of automatic control involving a single control valve are presented on the basis of experience gathered with high power-output turbines. Results of simulations of power control for a low power-output turbine are discussed. It has been proven that closing of the control system and an application of a power controller (of optimally selected parameters) improves the object dynamics (shortening of the transition period). At the same time, a lack of such optimization can results in occurrence of undesirable phenomena such as: overshoot in the generator power characteristics, elongation of the response time to disturbance or overshoot of turbine control valves.

Opis:
In this paper the authors wish to draw attention to the rationale for, and the possibility of, the use of local reactive power sources by the Transmission Node Master Controller (TNMC). Large Customers (LC) are one of the possible reactive power sources. The paper presents the issues related to the need for coordination between the control systems installed in the LC network, and coordination between control systems of the LC as well as master control systems in the network.

Opis:
The considered shunt active power filter can be controlled not only to compensate non-active current in the supply source, but additionally to optimize energy flow between the source and the load. In such a case the filter shapes the source current to be active and simultaneously regulates its magnitude. The presented filter/buffer can operate properly even when the load contains AC or DC variable energy source of any characteristic. The device can optimize energy flow for a single load, but also for a group of loads as well. The distinctive feature of the employed control method of the filter/buffer is that certain changes of energy stored in the device are utilized as the source of information concerning the active current of the load. This control method is very flexible and can be implemented to nearly all structures of active filters, for DC, single- and multiphase circuits.

Opis:
This paper develops an optimization model to control the excessive (MVAR) generation by super high voltage gird systems for maintaining the nodal voltages within the required acceptable margin. The model enhances an approximate solution on the condition of balanced real power. The pseudo-inverse method of optimization is implemented as an optimal optimization is implemented as an optimal means of solving non-square systems of equations based on LaGrange's theory of optimization. It recommends the locations and ratings of the minimum required reactors from the preinstalled ones that to be in service for optimum nodal reactive power and voltage controls.

Opis:
W pracy opisano przykład modelowania prototypowego układu regulacji napięcia i mocy biernej zgodnie z rozwiązaniami zawartymi w normach IEC 61850 (PN-EN 61850).
The paper presents the example of modelling prototype voltage and reactive power control device according to the solutions contained in the standards IEC 61850 (PN-EN 61850). Typical devices used in power engineering and their implemented functions (protections, controllers, etc.) have been standardized and defined in the standards as a compatible class of logical nodes. Many devices, especially prototype devices or those used on a lesser scale, do not have their representation in IEC 61850 standards. The authors of these systems create models of data objects independently and next, their own definitions of logical nodes following the rules defined in the standards. In Poland, such examples are voltage and reactive power control systems for the highest voltage substations and power plants (ARST or ARST/ARNE).

Opis:
The paper presents the concept of a new approach for remote control and monitoring of parameters of mobile or stationary machines in real time on the example of the hydrostatic transmission drive test stand. The proposed system control and monitoring is the mobile system which is closely related with the three applications written in a different programming languages, such as: java (Android) – mobile application runs on the tablet, C language – server application joins xPC Target with tablet, PHP – admin panel to manage mobile control platform. Controlling of the hydrostatic drive stand is implemented using an application installed on the tablet. This application is connected with computer’s real-time (xPC Target) module, generated in Matlab. The computer with xPC Target is equipped with a measuring-control card, to which the control signals are transmitted. This hardware-software component plays the connecting role between machine and operator of the mobile platform installed on the tablet. The application allows observe important parameters such as pressure, volumetric flow rate, temperature, velocity, torque in real-time, as well as, it enable, by use of special graphic slider on the tablet’s screen, to set control parameters such as: speed of electric motor, the opening and switching positions of the directional valve, as well as, setting the load by pressure relief valve. Based on this system research related to the verification of system operation were performed for different setting of the hydrostatic transmission drive speed controller, and selected results are presented in the paper.

Opis:
Properties and control of a doubly fed induction machine operating under unbalanced grid voltage conditions have been presented. The proposed method does not include symmetrical sequences decomposition and is realized in a rotating frame not synchronized either with the grid voltage vector or with the stator flux vector. The method uses a reference torque and the reference q component of instantaneous power for calculation of the reference stator current. Next, calculation of magnetizing current for a given unbalanced grid voltage is used to assign the reference rotor current. Due to the fact that the reference current contains both a positive and a negative sequence, a proportional-integral-resonant controller is used. The main control target is the non-oscillatory waveform of torque, whereas other separate strategies like symmetrical stator current or sinusoidal rotor current can be easily obtained by adequate filtration of the reference control signals of the stator or rotor currents, respectively. The simulation results of the 2 MW model have been presented for a doubly fed induction generator as well as the results of laboratory tests with the use of a small scale 7.5 kW machine.

Opis:
This article presents a consistent solution of Transmit Power Control in centralized (clustered) wireless network with and without jamming. Depending on the policy assumed, appropriate solutions are applied to minimize the power used in a system or to satisfy expected Quality of Service. Because of specific nature of the system there is no optimal solution which can be applied in practice. Correctness and effectiveness of four proposed Transmit Power Control algorithms was presented in the form of computer simulation results in which the system capacity, mean power used and the number of successful links were described.

Opis:
Self-oscillating h.f. power generators with a Class E amplifier are used as industrial high-efficiency h.f. power sources. In the paper a modification of the classic Class E generator by applying an additional capacitor in the matching and feedback circuit is presented. The proposed solution increases the degree of freedom in the generator design and can noticeably reduce its cost by eliminating the need for the use of high-value h.f. capacitors in the feedback loop divider. The self-oscillating Class E generator (150 W/6.78 MHz) with the proposed modification has been designed, built and its parameters were measured. Theoretical predictions were in a good agreement with experimental results. Moreover, the burst control method of the output power in the generator has also been presented.
