Opis:
The present paper is devoted to the study of phase velocity and attenuation of longitudinal shear vibrations of hollow poroelastic circular cylinders in the presence of dissipation. The explicit expressions for phase velocity and attenuation of longitudinal shear vibrations are derived. The frequency equation of longitudinal shear vibrations and modes obtained in a previous paper are used to compute the phase velocity and attenuation for different dissipations for thin and thick poroelastic cylindrical shells and poroelastic solid cylinder. The physical parameters of sandstone saturated with kerosene and sandstone saturated with water are used for the purpose of computation. It is found that the phase velocity is linear beyond certain frequency. Phase velocity is smaller for a typical anti-symmetric mode compared to the flexural mode. It is greater for the second mode than that of the first mode. Also the phase velocity is larger for a thin poroelastic cylindrical shell than that of a thick poroelastic cylindrical shell. The same is true for attenuation also. Attenuation is very high for the considered dissipations and it increases with the increase in dissipation.

The problem considered is that of an isotropic, micropolar thermoelastic medium with voids subjected to the Thomson effect. The solution to the problem is presented in the context of the refined multiphase-lags theory of thermoelasticity. The normal mode analysis was used to obtain the analytical expressions of the considered variables. The nondimensional displacement, temperature, microrotation, the change in the volume fraction field and stress of the material are obtained and illustrated graphically. The variations of these quantities have been depicted graphically in the refined-phase-lag theory, Green and Naghdi theory of type II, Lord and Shulman theory and a coupled theory. The effects of the Thomson parameter and phase lag parameters on a homogeneous, isotropic, micropolar thermoelastic material with voids are revealed and discussed. Some particular cases of interest are deduced from the present investigation.

Opis:
The paper deals with the new method of analysis, synthesis and experimentation of single-phase power active filters. By using a new particular transformation theory, the ordinary single-phase system can be transformed into an equivalent two-axes orthogonal one. The new original thought is based on the idea that ordinary single-phase quantity can be complemented bv fictitious second phase so that both of them will create an orthogonal system, as is usual in three-phase systems, in spite of [1]. Application of the above theory makes it possible to use complex methods of analysis as the instantaneous reactive power method, which have not been usable for single-phase systems so far. Both, the active and reactive powers can be determined by this way. Practical application of the method is outlined for the case of reference current determination for single-phase power active filter. The paper shows some examples of the simu-lution verification results, which proved a high accuracy and extremely fast response of the single-phase active filter with control, based on the introduced method. The effectiveness of proposed control algorithm is also demonstrated by experimental results, which were carried out on the single - phase active parallel filter, power rate of 25 kVA and controlled by 32 - bit Heating point digital signal processor TMS 320C31.

Cinque’s (1999) cartographic theory associates one meaning with one functional head. As such, if applied to sentence-final particles (SFPs), cartographic assumptions ought to group semantically similar SFPs onto the same functional head cross-linguistically (cf. Pan 2019; Sybesma & Li 2007). However, I show that aspectual and restrictive focus SFPs in Cantonese and Mandarin (Sinitic, Sino-Tibetan) seemingly contradict Cinque by occupying different structural positions despite their semantic closeness. To shed light on the problem, I adduce novel data from Guangzhou Cantonese and Singapore Cantonese, demonstrating that SFPs borrowed into these varieties are treated differently according to their structural height. Likewise citing scopal and other facts, I ultimately make a case for placing SFPs in multiple phases (Chomsky 2000 etc.), following Erlewine (2017) and Biberauer (2017), but contra Pan (2019), a.o. To accommodate Cinque (1999), I ultimately submit that different-phase SFPs constitute distinct lexical classes, which each cluster separately, but in the same semantically determined sequence compatible with cartographic assumptions.

This work presents the development of a solid product with a high water content (99.08%) and water retention properties. Water was chosen as a potential carrier of a volatile active substance and water retaining properties of material were studied at a temperatures and relative air humidity values with the support of the theory of drying. The study first confirmed the role of Gibbs’ phase rule in the research of solid-gas phase equilibrium, and second presented drying kinetics developed from Fick’s second law and expressed with the first term of the Fourier equation. Solutions of equations for phase equilibrium and mass transfer enabled the calculation of Luikov’s parameters, which are important for equilibrium relations and for the diffusivity of water in a solid for mass transfer prediction. The obtained thermodynamic and kinetic parameters enabled product characterisation that may be important for the prediction of retention times.

Opis:
Examples of the application of the confluent hypergeometric functions in miscellaneous areas of the theoretical physics are presented. It is suggested these functions to be utilized as a universal means for solution of a large number of problems, leading to: cylindrical, incomplete gamma, Coulomb wave, Airy, Kelvin, Bateman, Weber's parabolic cylinder, logarithmic-integral and exponential integral functions, generalized Laguerre, Poisson-Charlier and Hermit polynomials, integral sine and cosine, Fresnel and probability integrals, etc. (whose complete list is given), which are their special cases. The employment of such an approach would permit to develop general methods for integration of these tasks, to generalize results of different directions of physics and to find the common features of various phenomena, governed by equations, pertaining to the same family. Emphasis is placed here on the use of the Kummer function in the field of microwaves: the cases of normal and slow rotationally symmetric TE modes propagation in the azimuthally magnetized circular ferrite waveguide are considered. Lemmas on the properties of the argument, real and imaginary parts, and positive purely imaginary (real) zeros of the function mentioned in the complex (real) domain, of importance in the solution of boundary-value problem stated for normal (slow) waves, are substantiated analytically or numerically. A theorem for the identity of positive purely imaginary and real zeros of the complex respectively real Kummer function for certain parameters, is proved numerically. Tables and graphs support the results established. The terms for wave transmission are obtained as four bilaterally open intervals of variation of the quantities, specifying the fields. It turns out that the normal (slow) modes may exist in one (two) region(s). The theoretically predicted phase curves for the first waves of the two TE sets examined show that the structure explored is suitable for ferrite control components design.

Hydroxylammmonium nitrate (hydroxylamine nitrate, HAN) is one of the most promising candidates as a replacement for commonly used liquid mono-propellants such as hydrazine. The reaction pathways involved in the initial and the catalytic decomposition of HAN in aqueous solution were determined using quantum chemistry calculations incorporating solvent effects. Optimized structures were obtained for the reactants, products and transition states at the ωB97XD/6-311++G(d,p)/SCRF = (solvent = water) level of theory and the total electron energies of these structures were calculated at the CBS-QB3 level of theory. In the initial decomposition, the ion-neutral NH3OH+-HNO3 reaction, the neutral-neutral NH3O-HNO3 reaction and the HNO3 self-decomposition pathways were all found to have reasonable energy barriers, with values of 91.7 kJ/mol, 88.7 kJ/mol and 89.8 kJ/mol, respectively. The overall reaction resulting from any of these pathways can be written as: HAN → HONO + HNO + H2O. The ionic reaction is dominant during the initial decomposition of HAN in aqueous solution because NH3OH+ and NO3– are the major species in such solutions. We also developed six catalytic mechanisms and each of these schemes provided the same global reaction: NH2OH + HONO → N2O + 2H2O. The t-ONONO2 oxidizing scheme is the most plausible based on the energy barrier results.

Opis:
This research scrutinizes the observation that when the thematic subject is extracted (i.e. questioned) in Jordanian Arabic, temporal/locative inversion may occur. Temporal inversion occurs irrespective of the verb being transitive or intransitive, whereas locative inversion is limited to contexts with an unaccusative verb. This research argues that this distinction correlates with the base-generation of temporal/locative adjuncts; temporal adjuncts are base-generated adjoining to TP, whereas locatives are base-generated adjoining to VP. Temporal but not locative adjuncts resist fronting with vP, demand the use of a tense copula (or a tensed verb), and are not subject to deletion along with the lexical verb. With the assumption that Spec, SubjP must be filled with a non-silent copy due to the effects of the so-called Subject Criterion (Rizzi and Shlonsky 2007), a temporal or locative adjunct, if any, fills this position instead of the extracted thematic subject. Given its low position, a locative adjunct is accessible to Subj0 only when there is no v*P, hence the account of the correlation between locative inversion and the type of the verb. Furthermore, this research explores the existence of temporal/locative inversion in other two Arabic dialects (Najdi Arabic and Iraqi Arabic), arguing for a micro-parametric view of this strategy across Arabic dialects.

In this paper we basically intend to deductively study aspects and physical behavior of time in the Quantum Mechanical and Loop Quantum Gravity regime and the physical interpretations therein. The implicit gauge invariance of the vortical time is deduced. A new form of the Hamiltonian constraint is produced and the corresponding Vector or Diffeomorphism constraint is also introduced, the Gauss constraint being found to be the same as that in the original. The new consequences are discussed. The paper presents fresh new ideas and interpretations as well as perspectives on the spatial as well as the now introduced temporal aspects of Loop Quantum Gravity. In this we basically intend to deductively study aspects and physical behavior of Time in the Quantum Mechanical and Loop quantum gravity regime and the physical interpretations therein. In what follows, we provide a systematic mathematico-physical treatment of the vortical aspect of quantum gravity or a test quantum system, relative to space, as the time for that system. The implicit gauge invariance of the vortical time is deduced. A general theory of implicit and explicit gauge invariance is proposed. The gauging out of the acausality gauge degree of freedom is deduced and the causal direction of time is shown to nucleate out as a self ordered criticality due to a “tweaking” field which is shown to be a form of magnetic phase transition. This magnetic phase arising in the Kodama holomorphic wave functional universe, arises naturally due to the Ashtekar “magnetic” field in general. Also the wave-particle duality of gravity/ geometry as a quantum system is interpreted in terms of the physical role played by time. The long standing problem of the interpretation of the quantum mechanical time-inverse temperature has apriori been resolved with a heuristic interpretation. As an epilogue, the Pauli theorem on time as an operator has been discussed along with the standard proof.

The key focus area was syntax, its hierarchical structure and system of discrete infinity, unusual for the biological world. Here, some aspects of computational efficiency are analyzed in recent generative frameworks: operation Merge, the probe-goal system and the concept of the phase, among others. The aim of this article is to investigate an intriguing structure with final subject of unaccusatives in Yiddish, a Germanic language with Slavonic influences, and to show phase structures, feature inheritance, probe-goal, and a cyclic transfer system

We study the situation where the spectral phase transition occurs, namely the case of b(1)b(2) = 4. The main motive of the paper is the investigation of asymptotics of generalized eigenvectors of the Jacobi matrix. The pure point part of the spectrum is analyzed in detail.
