In addition to the benefits of hybrid phase shift keying (HPSK) modulation in reducing the peak to average power ratio of the transmitted signal to reduce the zero cross- ings and the 0?-degree phase transmissions, HPSK enhances the bit error rate (BER) measure of the signal performance. The constellation of the HPSK is analyzed, and an expression for the conditional probability of HPSK modulation over additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) is derived. This BER measure of HPSK is shown to outperform quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) modulation. HPSK performance through Nakagami - m fading channel is also considered.

Structures and characteristics of wideband small-size phase shifters made with the use of single parallel stubs are presented in this paper. The stubs can be short-circuited or open-circuited on termination. Such devices are well known, but are primarily used as components of filters or matching circuits. The novelty, then, comes from the establishment of simple, but helpful formulae, which enable to describe the insertion phase shift and differential phase shift of a line with short and open stubs connected in parallel. These equations can be very useful for designing complex microwave multi-ports. The results of simulations and measurements of the devices, which were designed and made, are shown herein. It was also proved that the presented device shave several usable operating frequency sub-bands, and that the differential phase shift values in the higher sub-bands are greater than those in the lower operating frequency ranges. Thanks to this, the described phase shifters can be used in more than one frequency sub-band. It was stated that in the conditions under analysis, larger phase shifts can be achieved using open-circuited stubs rather than short-circuited stubs. However, the phase shifters with shorted parallel stubs can operate in a wider frequency band.

The article presents theoretical principles of image processing in digital endoscopy which makes use of a miniaturised spectral scanner “PhaseProbe” designed by General Inspection Technologies LP, the producer of the measuring videoendoscope Everest XLG3. The technology of optoelectronic 3D mapping of the examined surface, which consists in measuring the phase shift between the emitted and reflected light waves, is briefly described. The efficiency of the “PhaseProbe” based method of endoscope measurements is compared with the earlier developed methods, such as “ShadowProbe” and “LaserDots”, which were used by the author in real conditions of diagnostic investigations of engines in operation in marine power plants. The processed results of the endoscope analysis of the broken gas turbine engine rotor blades which were earlier dimensioned using the inspection probes of “StereoProbe”, “ShadowProbe” and “LaserDots” type and now are examined by the author with the aid of the phase shift method make a valuable complement and synthesis of the discussion presented in the article.

In this paper, we design and analyse the Circuit for Grover’s Quantum Search Algorithm on 2, 3 and 4-qubit systems, in terms of number of gates, representation of state vectors and measurement probability for the state vectors. We designed, examined and simulated the quantum circuit on IBM Q platform using Quantum Programming Studio. We present the theoretical implementation of the search algorithm on different qubit systems. We observe that our circuit design for 2 and 4-qubit systems are precise and do not introduce any error while experiencing a small error to our design of 3-qubit quantum system.

Opis:
Therapeutic and surgical applications of High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) require monitoring of local temperature rises induced inside tissues. It is needed to appropriately target the focal plane, and hence the whole focal volume inside the tumor tissue, prior to thermo-ablative treatment, and the beginning of tissue necrosis. In this study we present an ultrasound method, which calculates the variations of the speed of sound in the locally heated tissue. Changes in velocity correspond to temperature change. The method calculates a 2D distribution of changes in the sound velocity, by estimation of the local phase shifts of RF echo-signals backscattered from the heated tissue volume (the focal volume of the HIFU beam), and received by an ultrasound scanner (23). The technique enabled temperature imaging of the heated tissue volume from the very inception of heating. The results indicated that the contrast sensitivity for imaging of relative changes in the sound speed was on the order of 0.06%; corresponding to an increase in the tissue temperature by about 2 °C.

Experimental and Numerical studies were carried out on turbulent heat transfer and friction factor loss through a triangular chevron channel. For uniform wall heat flux equal 1350 (W/m²) using air as a working fluid. Reynolds number varied from 3000 to 10000, phase shifted at the range of 0≤ϕ≤180, with variation distance between chevron surfaces (5 ≤ D ≤ 35 mm). Nu increased and TEF decreased in increasing of Re. The TEF and Nu increased with closing to channel phase shift angle 90˚, the best performance was noticed on phase shift, ϕ=90º. At the end of this paper effect of distance between chevron surfaces presented, The TEF and Nu increased with decreasing to channel distance and the best performance was noticed on closing to D=5(mm).

The investigation results of n-InP cylindrical phase shifters with solid-state plasma are presented in this paper. Furthermore, dispersion characteristics of the main mode HE11 of phase shifters with different external dielectric layers are calculated. According to the results of the investigation, the use of TM-15 dielectric and without dielectric is more preferred for phase shifters, as far as they correspond to the phase shifters working range wider in the range of magnetic flux density (0–0.5) T.

The article presents an analysis of the technical condition of the two blades with different technical conditions (for medium and low wear). It is shown that the evaluation of the blades basis only on the endoscopic research does not provide full information about the technical condition (known only the external condition of the blades). Proposed supplement endoscopic examinations of is the use of two parametric methods (the blades are tested during operation of rotating machine) based on the auto and cross power spectral density functions for the signal measured as displacement of the rotor blade tip y(t). As result of these methods is the portrait of the blades was obtained (in the form of clear colour images providing a degree of a wear), which also includes the internal condition of the blades. The additional complement to parametric methods may be nonparametric method. Auto and cross power spectral density functions (obtained from measurement of the blade tip movement) is a basis to determine the characteristics (abstract step and impulse responses) of each blade. Both parametric methods which nonparametric method clearly confirmed that the technical condition of first considered blade (no. 2) differs from the technical condition of the second blade (no. 22).

This paper proposes a transformerless dual half-bridge converter (TLDAHB). By eliminating the transformer and harnessing the possibility of using a low inductor value, it is possible to minimise the size of the converter. A phase-shift pulse width modulation will result in a wide controlled voltage gain of the converter and operation as buck and boost. The theoretical topology analysis, simulation, and experimental results are presented. Theoretical analysis consists of analysis of power transfer and design. In case of experimental research, particular attention was paid to power transfer and efficiency analysis. Near zero switching transient of voltage in the half-bridge topology results with high efficiency.

The paper presents the idea of the possibility of implementing automatic virtual instrument using the quasi ˗ balanced method to measure the active component of impedance (resistance). The system is based on the structure of a non-bridge quasi-balanced circuit. The process of balancing is automatically performed. This meter has been built based on the data acquisition board NI USB-6251 from National Instruments and programming environment LabVIEW. Signal processing is made in an algorithmic way. The measurement of the phase angle is based on short-term Fourier transform. The results of preliminary experimental research are presented in the paper.

W artykule przedstawiono model matematyczny nadążnego filtru synchronicznego, tłumiącego w sygnałach wyższe harmoniczne, sterowanego za pomocą powielonych przebiegów otrzymanych z sygnału wejściowego przesuniętego o odpowiedni kąt. W pracy zaprezentowano również wyniki symulacyjne oraz wyniki badań modelu filtru synchronicznego tłumiącego 2. i 3. harmoniczną.
The paper presents mathematical model of follow-up synchronous filter, which attenuate higher harmonics in signals using the same signals, but shifted by appropriate angle. The paper presents also the results relating to the mathematical (fig. 3) and physical models (fig. 4, 5, 6).

This paper deals with the phase-shift fault analysis of stream cipher Grain v1. We assume that the attacker is able to desynchronize the linear and nonlinear registers of the cipher during the keystream generation phase by either forcing one of the registers to clock one more time, while the other register is not clocked, or by preventing one of the registers from clocking, while the other register is clocked. Using this technique, we are able to obtain the full inner state of the cipher in reasonable time (under 12 hours on a single PC) by using 150 bits of unfaulted keystream, 600 bits of faulted keystreams and by correctly guessing 28 bits of the linear register.

This paper presents the new approach to ZigBee ranging against the background of currently using techniques. This new approach involves a phase shift measurement instead of standard time of arrival or radio signal strength approaches. The ZigBee device used in this study and preliminary tests of ranging and positioning performed using phase shift measurements are presented. The positioning results encourages for further research on the performance verification and algorithms for processing of ranging results.
W artykule przedstawiono zmodyfikowane w stosunku do najczęściej obecnie stosowanych podejście do określania położenia obiektów wykorzystujące propagacje sygnały w protokole ZigBee. Typowe rozwiązania stosowane aktualnie w systemach lokalizacji opartych o bezprzewodowe sieci wymiany danych bazują na pomiarach czasu propagacji lub mocy sygnału. Opisane w artykule podejście odwołuje się do pomiaru przesunięcia fazowego sygnału wynikającego z wykorzystania do transmisji różnych częstotliwości. Przedstawione w artykule wstępne wyniki eksperymentów uzasadniają dalsze prace nad wykorzystaniem przedstawionej metody w zakresie opracowania algorytmów obliczeniowych pozycjonowania oraz weryfikacji efektów w warunkach rzeczywistych.

The use of Carrier Suppressed Non-Return to Zero (CSNRZ) and Carrier Suppressed Return to Zero (CSRZ) modulation formats in Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) channels at 1 Gb/s and 10 Gb/s is investigated. The results of simulated analysis using Differential Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (DQPSK) and Offset Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (OQPSK) formats are presented. We demonstrate that Stimulated Brillouin Scatteriring (SBS) is a major contribution of the back-scattering signal. At bit rate of 1 Gb/s and 10 Gb/s, CSRZ-OQPSK modulation format has a low threshold for SBS signal generation. For a data rate of 1 Gb/s, high SBS threshold of 19.76 dBm for CSRZ-DQPSK is recorded. The results can be used to suppress SBS in high power lasers which could be useful in high bit rate signal transmission.

The method of a phase shift angle measurement using conditional averaging of delayed signal absolute value (CAAV) is presented in this paper. The input sinusoidal signal x(t) is without noise. White noise with normal distribution and band limited to low frequencies has been applied as disturbance of delayed sinusoidal signal z(t). Noise n(t) - N(0, δn) is added to the delayed signal - the noised and delayed signal z(t) is obtained. The phase angle shift is proportional to time location of CAAV's minimum (minimum of the characteristic of conditional averaging of delayed signal's absolute value). The phase angle shift can be determined on the basis of conditional averaging value of elaborated algorithm. The characteristics of conditional average of delayed signal's absolute value in the surrounding of the minimum of this function (the results of practical investigations and theoretical calculation) are presented. The experimental variance of characteristic CAAV in surroundings of the minimum (obtained from practical investigations and calculation) is illustrated in the paper. The algorithms of conditional averaging have been elaborated and practically realized in the LabVIEW environment.
