    In order to better understand the relationship between literature and philosophy, the paper takes as its starting point a number of reflections by José Ortega y Gasset; indeed, his ideas help demonstrate the value of literature for philosophical thought. The structure of a literary narrative is an interesting working space for perspectivism, and the literary works of Hervé Guibert serve as a useful case study to exemplify this idea. It will be argued that philosophy and literature are two perspectives that coincide and favour a more complex study of the plurality of differing viewpoints, which applies to both their content and dissimilarities.
    Este trabajo toma como punto de partida algunas reflexiones de José Ortega y Gasset para pensar la relación entre la literatura y la filosofía y mostrar el valor de la literatura para el pensamiento filosófico. La estructura de una narración literaria es un interesante espacio de trabajo para el perspectivismo, y las obras literarias de Hervé Guibert son un caso de estudio clave para ejemplificar esta idea. Se defenderá que la filosofía y literatura son dos perspectivas que pueden coincidir y favorecer un estudio más complejo de la pluralidad de perspectivas, sus contrastes y contenidos.

    Opis:
    The article raises the problem of non-Eurocentric approaches to natural disasters – treating them as ordinary rather than traumatic events. For some archaic (indigenous) types of thinking, fundamental changes taking place in the environment do not cause the cessation of relations with nature and involve the need to constantly adapt to its conditions, even at the expense of one’s own welfare or living. Hayao Miyazaki’s anime film Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind also discusses this issue. The animistic thinking about the environment (Japanese Shintoism) shown in it opens a reflection on the possibility of considering old worldviews in the reflection on the ethical future of man on the eve of the climate collapse.

    Artykuł jest poświęcony  analizie związków między ludźmi i nie-ludźmi oraz wyjaśnieniu procesu „stawania-się-zwierzęciem” (devenir-animal) na przykładzie filmu Choroba tropikalna (Sat pralat, 2004) Apichatponga Weerasethakula. Źródłem inspiracji jest multinaturalistyczny perspektywizm wprowadzony przez Philippe’a Descolę i Eduarda Viveirosa de Castro do etnograficznych badań nad wierzeniami animistycznymi oraz filozofia Gilles’a Deleuze’a i Félixa Guattariego. Odchodząc od antropocentrycznej perspektywy, autor zwraca uwagę na kilka głównych problemów: konieczność podważenia opozycji między naturą i kulturą, zakwestionowania psychicznej nieciągłości między różnymi rodzajami bytów, wskazania na możliwość wyzwolenia człowieka z podmiotowości przez wyrwanie go z ustabilizowanych kategorii (biologicznych, społecznych, kulturowych) oraz otwarcie na relacje z Innymi (zwierzętami, duchami, roślinami).
    The paper analyzes the relations between humans and non-humans and explains the process of „becoming-animal” (devenir-animal) on the basis of the film entitled Tropical Malady (Sat pralat, 2004) by Apichatpong Weerasethakul. The source of inspiration is multinatural perspectivism introduced by Philippe Descola and Eduard Viveiros de Castro to ethnographic research on animistic beliefs, and by the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. Moving away from an anthropocentric perspective, the author draws attention to several major problems: the need to challenge the opposition between nature and culture, questioning the mental discontinuity between different types of entities, pointing to the possibility of liberating humans from subjectivity by freeing them from established categories (biological, social, cultural ones) and opening them for relations with Others (animals, ghosts, plants).

    Das Ziel des Artikels ist es, die Aktualität des Gedankens von Ortega für die gegenwärtige Philosophie zu verteidigen. Am Anfang wird erläutert, was für Ortega das Hauptmoment der modernen Welt bildet: die Konstruktion der eigenen Identität auf der Grundlage der individuellen Veranlagungen. Ortega zufolge bildet sie den wichtigsten Aspekt europäischer Kultur, den man um jeden Preis verteidigen sollte. Wenn man diese Idee in der Theorie des Wissens anwendet, bekommt man als Ergebnis den Perspektivismus, der die Legitimation für liberale Demokratie bildet.
    The aim of the article is to provide explanation as to why José Ortega is still relevant for the current philosophical thought. It begins with exploration of what he claims to be a central element of the modern world: the construction of own identity according to individual criteria. In opinion of Ortega, this personal undertaking constitutes a pivotal component of the European culture, and therefore must be defended at all costs. This idea, when translated into a theory of knowledge, results in the emergence of perspectivism that serves to legitimize liberal democracy.
    Nuestro propósito es defender la relevancia de Ortega para el pensamiento filosófico actual. Para ello exponemos lo que según Ortega era un elemento central del mundo moderno: la construcción por parte de cada uno de su propia identidad atendiendo a criterios personales. De acuerdo con Ortega este proyecto constituye una característica importantísima de la cultura europea que hay que defender a toda costa. Por último, cuando esto se traduce a teoría del conocimiento el resultado es un perspectivismo que legitima la democracia liberal.
    Celem artykułu jest obrona aktualności myśli Ortegi dla współczesnej myśli filozoficznej. Na początku zostaje wyjaśnione to, co dla Ortegi stanowi centralny moment współczesnego świata: konstrukcja własnej tożsamości na podstawie indywidualnych predyspozycji. Według Ortegi, jest to najbardziej istotny aspekt kultury europejskiej, którego należy bronić za wszelką cenę. Jeśli tę ideę przełożyć na teorię wiedzy, jako rezultat otrzymuje się perspektywizm, który stanowi legitymizację dla liberalnej demokracji.

    This article presents the innovative model of post-disciplinary scientific research and shows examples of its use. Basing on integral theory and AQAL model – which are results of forty years’ scientific work of American philosopher and psychologist, Ken Wilber, the article describes thesis of Integral Methodological Pluralism (IMP), which is being situated by researchers among mixed research methodology. IMP assumes, that full integral approach upon the phenomenon being examined requires using eight perspectives and eight research method categories associated with them. Each perspective brings relevant partial truth into the integral synthesis. It’s worth noting however, that certain perspectives containing more axiom are deeper and more adequate. Each of the exploration methods reveals a different reality aspect, unavailable for other approaches. The article presents selected research using IMP within education, psychotherapy, gender studies, and leadership, thus showing its comprehensive use across scientific research.
    Artykuł przedstawia innowacyjny model postdyscyplinarnych badań naukowych i przywołuje przykłady jego zastosowania. Odwołując się do teorii integralnej i modelu AQAL – rezultatu czterdziestoletniej pracy badawczej amerykańskiego filozofa i psychologa, Kena Wilbera, artykuł prezentuje założenia Integralnego Pluralizmu Metodologicznego (IMP), sytuowanego przez badaczy w obrębie mieszanych metod badań. IMP zakłada, że w pełni integralne podejście do badanego zjawiska wymaga wykorzystania ośmiu perspektyw i odpowiadających im ośmiu rodzin metod badawczych. Każda uzasadniona perspektywa wnosi istotną prawdę cząstkową do integralnej syntezy, choć trzeba mieć na uwadze, że niektóre z perspektyw są głębsze i bardziej adekwatne od innych, gdyż zawierają więcej pewników. Każda z metod eksploracji odsłania inny aspekt rzeczywistości, niedostępny dla pozostałych ujęć badawczych. Prezentuje zarys wybranych badań z użyciem Integralnego Pluralizmu Metodologicznego na polu edukacji, psychoterapii, studiów Gender i przywództwa, ukazując tym samym możliwości jego wszechstronnego zastosowania w badaniach naukowych.

    In spite of the growing interest in the relations that hold between language and culture, most works written within the frameworks of ethnolinguistics or cultural linguistics focus on lexical material. The purpose of this article is to substantiate von Humboldt’s statement that “grammar reflects spiritual identity of nations more intimately than lexis”. One of the crucial aspects of historical narrative is discussed: the influence of the English system of grammatical tenses upon the linguistic worldview that emerges from historical narrative of a particular type, as well as the changes that occur in its Polish translation, due to systematic differences between English and Polish. The focus falls on the domain of time, which is crucial for historiography.The paper claims that conceptualizations differ significantly between languages, even in the case of languages which belong to cultures that are not very distant; a case in point is that of grammatical tenses and their relation to time in English and Polish. The problem falls within the domain of research on linguistic worldviews, as these differences result, on the one hand, from different conceptualizations of time as an element of the (conventional) worldview, and, on the other hand, from its relation to people who experience time and who talk about time.The main types of historical narrative are defined according to the criterion of Langacker’s concept of subjectification. The empirical part brings an analysis of fragments of Beneath Another Sky. A Global Journey into History by the British historian Norman Davies and their Polish translations.
    Mimo rosnącego zainteresowania związkami języka z kulturą, w większości prac powstających w ramach językoznawstwa kulturowego i etnolingwistyki dominują analizy materiału leksykalnego. Niniejszy esej jest próbą dostarczenia dowodów na poparcie tezy Humboldta, że „gramatyka jest bliższa duchowej swoistości narodów niż leksyka”. Przedmiotem analizy jest jeden z istotnych aspektów narracji historycznej: wpływ gramatycznej kategorii czasu w języku angielskim na językowy obraz świata wyłaniający się z anglojęzycznej narracji historycznej określonego typu oraz zmiany tego obrazu w polskim przekładzie, które się pojawiają w wyniku różnic systemowych między językami angielskim i polskim. Rozważania teoretyczne koncentrują się na domenie czasu, która stanowi podstawowy wymiar historiografii.Na wstępie uzasadniono tezę, że w konceptualizacjach domeny czasu występują znaczące różnice – także między językami z nieodległych kultur – na przykład w obrębie systemu czasów gramatycznych i ich relacji do czasu fizykalnego. Problem ten wpisuje się w zakres tematyki badawczej JOS, ponieważ jego korzenie tkwią z jednej strony w rozbieżności sposobów pojmowania czasu jako elementu (konwencjonalnego) językowego obrazu świata, z drugiej zaś – w jego relacji do ludzi, którzy doświadczają (upływu) czasu i którzy o nim mówią.W artykule omówiono sposoby konceptualizacji czasu oraz językowych odniesień do domeny czasu w obu językach, a także zdefiniowano podstawowe rodzaje narracji historycznej, wyróżnione według kryterium Langackerowskiej subiektyfikacji. W części empirycznej artykułu omówiono kilkanaście fragmentów książki brytyjskiego historyka Normana Daviesa Na krańce świata w oryginale i w polskim przekładzie.

    The article is combined of six chapters authored by these who voiced their experiences with social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemics in various contexts, but mostly centered on psychological, sociological, and ethical aspects. Authors, mostly psychologists and philosophers, were invited to describe their perspectives on the sense and practice of social distancing in times of pandemics. Their reflections seek to demonstrate various perspectives related to subjects’ novel self-experience, social situatedness, and their dealing with conventions and habits altered through the pandemics. As “the owl of Minerva takes its flight only when the shades of night are gathering” (Hegel), there is no conclusion in this article. It rather encourages other authors to reflect on the nearly global, still lasting phenomenon.
