Opis:
W pracy przedstawiono idee trzech nowych, wykorzystujących informację o strukturze, metod poszukiwania niedokładnej odpowiedniości elementów obrazów. Metodami tymi są metoda: jednokrokowa, iteracyjna i wieloetapowa. Problem poszukiwania odpowiedniości elementów obrazów został w nich sprowadzony do problemu określenia niedokładnej odpowiedniości odpowiednio zdefiniowanych grafów.
In this paper the idea of three novel (i.e. one-step, iterative and multistage method), using structural information, methods for finding inexact correspondence of image elements is presented. In those methods the task of matching image elements is reduced to the problem of inexact graph matching in accordingly defined graphs. For this problem solving new method of finding graph matching by optimal clique finding in respectively defined association graph was developed. As an example of practical usage of the described methods, their application in problem of stereomatching is presented.

Opis:
This work extends the dynamic programming approach to calculation of an elastic metric between two curves to finding paths in pairs of graph drawings that are closest under this metric. The new algorithm effectively solves this problem when all paths between two given nodes in one of these graphs have the same length. It is then applied to the problem of pattern recognition constrained by a superpixel segmentation. Segmentations of test images, obtained without statistical modeling given two shape endpoints, have good accuracy.

Opis:
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, PT. XYZ, the biggest aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) company in Indonesia, implemented a new shift pattern for line-maintenance personnel. The new shift pattern allows maintenance personnel to have fewer working hours per day (7-hour shifts) in more shift varieties for 5 consecutive days. Maintenance personnel will have 2-morning shifts, 1-noon shift, and 2-night shifts followed by 3 rest days. This study aims to explore the risk of fatigue caused by the newly implemented shift pattern. Data were collected through electronic questionnaires from a total of 303 respondents. This study found that at the time of the survey, many respondents (78 of 303, 26%) felt tired and had difficulty concentrating, regardless of the shift they were in. Based on the duty time, the highest scores of level 6 (tired, difficult to concentrate) were discovered on night shift day 5. This result shows that although the organization had provided the maintenance personnel with the opportunity to obtain sleep during rest days, tiredness and fatigue were still experienced by the aircraft maintenance personnel. This study recommends necessary actions to be taken to prevent fatigue, especially from the noon shift afterwards, where fatigue level is increasing, and alertness level is decreasing.

Opis:
The paper presents the use of three standard methods for the analysis of regional differences in the level agriculture in 2009, after applying the quotient normalization of variables. The research compared with results obtained by using the measure of development of Pluta type - without model -. Of the four measures constructed the fifth, "resultant" synthetic indicator. Then was made the linear arrangement and division into group of Polish voivodships. The results showed that the level of development of Polish agriculture between voivodships in 2009 was very different. Classification of voivodships does not depend on the method and differentiation to a small extent.

Paper compares various analysis methods suitable for an analysis of point pattern with directionally varying point density. As example was used point pattern from spacing experiment created according to Nelder design in which tree density changes greatly but in smooth manner. Such a pattern could be not analysed by methods assuming homogenous point density e.g. classical estimator of Ripley's K function. More useful are estimators of Ripley's and pair−correlation functions for inhomogeneous point patterns. K2 function, which proved to be efficient for heterogeneous point patterns with distinct changes in the local point density appears not to be efficient for heterogeneous point patterns with smooth changes in density.

Opis:
In this paper we present a machine learning-based approach for detecting platelet cells in microscopic smear images. Counting how many platelets appeared in each smear image is one of the basic tasks done in many laboratories. In many cases this is still done by a human — laboratory technician. Due to very small size and often great quantity of those cells, precise estimating of the number of platelets is not a trivial task. As in all man-dependent problems the whole process is very sensitive to errors, time-consuming and its accuracy is limited by human perception. We propose alternative, fully automatic solution that is free of those drawbacks. Our idea is based on the combination of techniques driven from two fields of modern computer science: the image analysis and pattern recognition ⁄ machine learning. It not only reduces the error rate, but, what is more important, also decreases the time needed for each smear image analysis. The obtained results are very satisfying and our solution is more precise than estimation based on human perception. This will improve the quality of laboratory work and allow to save time that can be spent on other important tasks.

System analysis as scientific and engineering discipline underpins research and development in other areas. However, system analysis models and methods are often taught separately and, as a result, system analyst cannot form a holistic understanding of this area. In order to deepen our understanding of system analysis’ concepts and relations the ontology of this area was built. It was constructed based on models and methods of system analysis considered as knowledge patterns. The concept of system was selected as a central concept of ontology. Other important concepts, such as goal, function, decision and process are relating to it. Finally, the applications of created system analysis ontology for teaching system analysis in high school and as a part of semantic grid are discussed.

Opis:
Content-based image retrieval (CBIR) retrieves visually similar images from a dataset based on a specified query. A CBIR system measures the similarities between a query and the image contents in a dataset and ranks the dataset images. This work presents a novel framework for retrieving similar images based on color and texture features. We have computed color features with an improved color coherence vector (ICCV) and texture features with a gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) along with DWT-MSLBP (which is derived from applying a modified multi-scale local binary pattern [MS-LBP] over a discrete wavelet transform [DWT], resulting in powerful textural features). The optimal features are computed with the help of principal component analysis (PCA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA). The proposed work uses a variancebased approach for choosing the number of principal components/eigenvectors in PCA. PCA with a 99.99% variance preserves healthy features, and LDA selects robust ones from the set of features. The proposed method was tested on four benchmark datasets with Euclidean and city-block distances. The proposed method outshines all of the identified state-of-the-art literature methods.

Opis:
The aim of the study was to compare two grouping methods for regionalisation of watersheds, which are similar in respect of low flow and chosen catchments parameters (physiographic and meteorological). In the study, a residual pattern approach and cluster analysis, i.e. Ward’s method, were used. The analysis was conducted for specific low flow discharge q95 (dm3∙s-1∙km-2). In the analysis, 50 catchments, located in the area of the upper and central Vistula River basin, were taken. Daily flows used in the study were monitored from 1976 to 2016. Based on the residual pattern approach (RPA) method, the analysed catchments were classified into two groups, while using the cluster analysis method (Ward’s method) - into five. The predictive performance of the complete regional regression model checked by cross-validation R2cv was 47% and RMSEcv= 0.69 dm3∙s-1∙km-2. The cross validation procedure for the cluster analysis gives a predictive performance equal to 33% and RMSEcv= 0.81 dm3∙s-1∙km-2. Comparing both methods, based on the cross-validated coefficient of determination (R2cv), it was found that the residual pattern approach had a better fit between predicted and observed values. The analysis also showed, that in case of both methods, an overestimation of specific low flow discharge q95 was observed. For the cross-validation method and the RPA method, the PBIAS was -10%. A slightly higher value was obtained for the cross-validation method and models obtained using cluster analysis for which the PBIAS was -13.8%.
