In this paper, the application of the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) algorithm has been used for testing selected specification parameters of voltage-controlled oscillator. Today, mixed electronic circuits specification time is an issue. An analog part of Phase Locked Loop is a voltage-controlled oscillator, which is very sensitive to variation of the technology process. Fault model for the integrated circuit voltage control oscillator (VCO) in ring topology is introduced and the before test stage classificatory is designed. In order to reduce testing time and keep the specification accuracy (approximation) on the high level, an artificial neural network has been applied. The features selection process and output coding for specification parameters are described. A number of different ANN have been designed and then compared with real specification of the VCO. The results obtained gives response in short time with high enough accuracy.

In this paper a wideband MOS quadrature oscillator constituted by two multivibrators is presented. Two different forms of coupling, named here as soft and hard, are investigated. Simulations are performed in a 0.13 žm CMOS technology to obtain the tuning range, the synchronization transients, and the influence of mismatches in timing capacitors and charging currents on synchronization. It is found that hard coupling reduces the quadrature error (about 1°, with 5% mismatches in timing capacitors and charging currents) and results in a low phase-noise (about 2 dB improvement) with respect to soft coupling. Either a single multivibrator or coupled multivibrators can be locked to an external synchronizing harmonic frequency, and the locking range is investigated by simulations. The simulations are done for oscillators covering the WTMS frequency bands.

The present paper deals with investigations of a stochastic model of the Duffing oscillator operating continuously. The standart theory of the optimal stochastic control described in Fleming and Richel (1975) is presented, as well as the application of these concept to the perturbation control techniques suggestes by Suhardio et al. (1992). The method presented in this paper is, therefore, a generalization of the method of the development of nonlinear control units into a series, as described for Duffing's deterministic oscillator involving stochastic system derived by the author and applied in his master thesis (Nowoświat, 1999). Detailed analysis and numerical calculations have been done using the Runge-Kutta procedures.
W pracy zaproponowano metodę perturbacji dla sterowania układów dynamicznych z wymuszeniami o charakterze białych szumów Gaussowskich i kryteriami w przestrzeni funkcji gęstości prawdopobieństw. Przy wyznaczaniu współczynników sterowania, jak również współczynników funkcji Lapunowa, korzysta się z równania Bellmana. Tak wyznaczone współczynniki niezbędne są do minimalizacji funkcji kosztów I. Szczegółową analizę i obliczenia numeryczne wykonano za pomocą procedur Rungego-Kutty.

Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) are widely used in many areas of human life and activity. The proper functioning of GNSS systems depends on several factors, the most important of which is the correct knowledge of time. The position indirectly is based on the knowledge of the distance, which is determined based on time with the knowledge of the speed of the electromagnetic wave. Thus, proper (accurate) knowledge of time (GNSS clock stability) is a key to precise positioning. In this text, the long-term stability of the GNSS station clocks covering the years 1994-2020 was analysed. For this purpose, the corrections of the clocks at selected permanent stations were used, and their stability was determined for all years separately. Then the change of clock stability over time and the search for correlation were analysed. As the results showed, there are clearly differences between four of the type of oscillators analysed. In case of the comparison on an annual basis, no change over time was found.

In the paper, a pure nonlinear and damped two-mass oscillator excited with a periodical force is considered. The oscillator is modelled with a system of two coupled second order nonlinear and non-homogenous equations. Using the model, two problems are investigated: one, identification of the excitation force for the known vibrating response of the system, and the second, determination of vibrations of the system excited with the known periodical force. Using the steady-state motion of the nonlinear oscillator, a method for identification of the excitation force is developed. For the pure nonlinear oscillator, it is obtained that the forcing function has the form of the Ateb function. However, if the excitation force is known, the procedure for computing the steady-state vibration of the system is introduced. The solution corresponds to steady-state vibrations of the free oscillator, but the amplitude and phase are assumed to be time variable. The averaged solutions are obtained for the pure nonlinear oscillator with an additional linear elastic force and for the van der Pol oscillator. Analytically obtained solutions are compared with numerical ones. They are in good agreement.

The paper is another step in discussion concerning the method of determining the distributions of pulses forcing vibrations of a system. Solving a stochastic problem for systems subjected to random series of pulses requires determining the distribution for a linear oscillator with damping. The goal of the study is to minimize the error issuing from the finite time interval. The applied model of investigations is supposed to answer the question how to select the parameters of a vibrating system so that the difference between the actual distribution of random pulses and that determined from the waveform is as small as possible.

The concept of statistical and equvalent linearization with probability density criteria for dynamic systems under Gaussian excitation is considered in the paper. New criteria of linearization and two approximate approaches are proposed. In the first one (statistical linearization) in order to establish the linearization coefficients and response characteristics the output probability density functions of statistic nonlinear element and the corresponding static linearized element are used in an iterative procedure. In the second approach (equivalent linearization) the direct minimization of a criterion based on output probability density functions of dynamic nonlinear system is proposed. The detailed analysis and numerical results are given for the Duffing oscillator.
W pracy zaproponowano metodę statystycznej i równoważnej linearyzacji dla układów dynamicznych z wymuszeniami o charakterze białych szumów Gaussowskich i kryteriami w przestrzeni funkcji gęstości prawdopodobieństw. Przy wyznaczaniu współczynników linearyzacji i charakterystyk rozwiązań układu dynamicznego za pomocą metody statystycznej linearyzacji korzysta się z minimalizacji kryterium uwzględniającego różnicę wyjściowych funkcji gęstości prawdopodobieństw odpowiednio elementu nieliniowego zlinearyzowanego oraz pewnej procedury iteracyjnej. W przypadku równoważnej linearyzacji przeprowadza się bezpośrednią minimalizację kryterium uwzględniającego różnicę wyjściowych funkcji gęstości prawdopodobieństw odpowiednio układów dynamicznych nieliniowego i zlinearyzowanego. Szczegółową analizę i obliczenia numeryczne przeprowadzono dla oscylatora Duffinga.

A comparative picture of structural and electrochemical properties of fluorinated liquid crystals viz. p-phenylene-4-methoxybenzoate-4-trifluoromethylbenzoate (FLUORO1), and 4-propyloxyphenyl-4-(4-trifluoromethyl benzoyloxy) benzoate (FLUORO2) have been studied. The structure of liquid crystals have been optimized by the density functional B3LYP with 6-31 + G(d) basis set using crystallographic geometry as input. Molecular charge distribution, and phase stability of these molecules have been analyzed based on the Mulliken, and Loewdin population analysis. The electronic absorption spectra of molecules have been simulated by employing the density functional theory method. The effects of substituted groups on electrochemical properties such as highly occupied molecular orbital, lowly unoccupied molecular orbital energies, and energy gap (E_{g}) have been investigated. It has been observed that substitution of additional alkyl groups leads to prominent decrement in electrochemical properties.

Experimental and theoretical considerations and results on the effect of nitrogen incorporation on the oscillator strength of optical transitions in InGaNAs/GaAs quantum wells (QWs) are presented. Therefore, a set of dilute nitride quantum well structures was grown by molecular beam epitaxy. Optical investigation via spectroscopic methods have been performed at various temperatures for both the as-grown samples, and after rapid thermal annealing. The fundamental transition energy and its oscillator strength vs. the QW composition have been systematically investigated. Additionally, the effect of the bandgap discontinuities on the transitions intensity has also been considered. The experimental data have been confronted with the band structure calculations within the effective mass approximation employing a two level repulsion model for the nitrogen-containing structures. The obtained results are crucial for possible future applications employing the quantum well in cavity structures and bringing the practical exploitation of quantum electrodynamics phenomena to the telecommunication spectral range.

The paper presents analysis of nonlinear response of a classical mechanical oscillator placed within a magnetic field and driven by a harmonic force. With an appropriate choice of control parameters, the system vibrates chaotically between different equilibrium positions. To prove this result, Lyapunov exponents have been calculated using the algorithm proposed by Rangarajan G., Habib S. and Ryne R.: Physical Review Letters, vol. 80, (1998). Moreover, the appropriate time series, phase portrait, Poincar'e cross-section and power spectrum are given to support the conclusion.

W artykule przedstawiono system pomiarowy, w którym nadrzędną rolę sprawuje mały, cieszący się coraz większą popularnością, mikrokomputer edukacyjny Raspberry Pi. System zaprojektowany został do wizualizacji rozkładu temperatury wewnątrz struktury układu reprogramowalnego FPGA, na podstawie dokonanych pomiarów częstotliwości oscylatorów pierścieniowych zaimplementowanych wewnątrz układu. Sterowanie procesem pomiarowym, akwizycja danych i prezentacja wyników nadzorowana jest przez mikrokomputer Raspberry Pi.
In this paper the system based on Raspberry Pi, a popular educational microcomputer [1] is described. In this system, a programmable FPGA Spartan-3 XC3S200 [5] device was tested. The Raspberry Pi worked as a control unit for the whole system (Fig. 1). A part of the system was implemented inside the tested structure (Fig. 2). It was an array of ring oscillators (Fig. 3), as temperature sensors, with a structure for controlling the ring oscillators. Simple ring oscillators are often implemented in FPGA devices. They are used both as a single element or an array of sensors for measuring the chip temperature [2, 3, 4]. The frequency of the activated sensor was measured outside by an oscilloscope (SCPI command was used). The frequency was dependent on temperature. The sensors can be located in different areas of a chip [6, 7]. In case of the tested device 36 sensors were used, but generally it depends on a tested device [8, 9]. The Raspberry Pi controlled the measurement process via an SPI serial interface. The results were collected from the oscilloscope via a UART/RS232 serial interface. The relation between frequency and temperature (Fig. 4) as well as 2D visualizations (Fig. 5) were made using Gnuplot and Scilab. The results should visualize the temperature distribution inside the device, but first right calibration of sensors should be made. The location of elements inside the FPGA sensor is of great significance [10], so in the case of an array of sensors, each ring oscillator should be analyzed and calibrated independently.

In this paper, we are putting forward the periodic solution of non-linear oscillators by means of variational iterative method (VIM) using Laplace transform. Here, we present a comparative study of the new technique based on Laplace transform and the previous tech-niques of maximum minimum approach (MMA) and amplitude frequency formulation (AFF) for the analytical results. For the non-linear oscillators, MMA, AFF and VIM by Laplace transform give the same analytical results. Comparison of analytical results of VIM by Laplace transform with numerical results by fourth-order Runge–Kutta (RK) method conforms the soundness of the method for solving non-linear oscillators as well as for the time and boundary conditions of the non-linear oscillators.

We present a systematic nonlinear procedure for designing microwave oscillators utilising a nonlinear PHEMT model, the negative resistance approach and the describing function concept. The procedure is applied in the design of a 24 GHz oscillator, which is then realised in hybrid technology. Measurement results show - 6% shift in the frequency but an acceptable agreement in the output power. A detailed analysis shows that the frequency shift arises mainly from inadequate CAD models in the K band, for the microstrip components employed in our design.

In this paper, a non-homogenous fractional oscillator equation in finite time interval is considered. The fractional equation with derivatives of order α ∈ (0, 1] is transformed into its corresponding integral form. Next, a numerical solution of the integral form of the considered equation is presented. In the final part of this paper, some examples of numerical solutions of the considered equation are shown.

One of the sources of randomness for a random bit generator (RBG) is jitter present in rectangular signals produced by ring oscillators (ROs). This paper presents a novel approach for the design of delays used in these oscillators. We suggest using delay elements made on carry4 primitives instead of series of inverters or latches considered in the literature. It enables the construction of many high frequency ring oscillators with different nominal frequencies in the same field programmable gate array (FPGA). To assess the unpredictability of bits produced by RO-based RBG, the restarts mechanism, proposed in earlier papers, was used. The output sequences pass all NIST 800-22 statistical tests for smaller number of ring oscillators than the constructions described in the literature. Due to the number of ROs with different nominal frequencies and the method of construction of carry4 primitives, it is expected that the proposed RBG is more robust to cryptographic attacks than RBGs using inverters or latches as delay element.
