Hyperbolic homeomorphisms on compact manifolds are shown to have both inverse shadowing and bishadowing properties with respect to a class of δ-methods which are represented by continuous mappings from the manifold into the space of bi-infinite sequences in the manifold with the product topology. Topologically stable homeomorphisms and expanding mappings are also considered.

We consider the effect of the Rashba spin-orbital coupling in two-dimensional GaAs semiconductor heavily doped with Mn, on the spin polarization of holes. Due to the strong internal spin-orbit interaction in GaAs, the spin of a hole is not a good quantum number but the hole in some energy state has a certain mean value of spin, which can be strongly affected by the Rashba spin-orbital interaction related to the substrate for 2D material.

Let X be an algebraic toric variety with respect to an action of an algebraic torus S. Let Σ be the corresponding fan. The aim of this paper is to investigate open subsets of X with a good quotient by the (induced) action of a subtorus T ⊂ S. It turns out that it is enough to consider open S-invariant subsets of X with a good quotient by T. These subsets can be described by subfans of Σ. We give a description of such subfans and also a description of fans corresponding to quotient varieties. Moreover, we give conditions for a subfan to define an open subset with a complete quotient space.

Cosmic mechanics has been always a perfect example of the regular, deterministic, motion which allows a prediction to a fairly high accuracy. The analysis of these data allowed us to conclude that the motion of Halley's comet is harmonious.

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most frequent malignant neoplasm of the skin. In this report we present a case of a 59-year-old patient, who had noticed for five years gradually growing tumor of the facial skin. MR scans revealed pathological lesion in the left orbit. The patient required partial resection of the nose, orbital exenteration with anterolateral thigh free flap reconstruction. The authors present diagnostic problems and methods of treatment BCC.

The cold start of the space GPS receiver, i.e. the start without any information about the receiver position, satellite constellation, and time, is complicated by a large Doppler shift of a navigation signal caused by the satellite movement on the Earth orbit. That increases about five times the search space of the navigation signals compared to the standard GPS receiver. The paper investigates a method of the acceleration of the GPS receiver cold start time designed for the pico- and femto-satellites. The proposed method is based on a combination of the paralel search in Doppler frequency and PRN codes and the serial search in code phase delay. It can shorten the cold start time of the GPS receiver operating on LEO orbit from about 300 to 60 seconds while keeping the simplicity of FPGA signal processor and low power consumption. The developed algorithm was successfully implemented and tested in the piNAV GPS receiver. The Energy required for the obtaining of the position fix was reduced five times from 36 on to 7.7 Joules. This improvement enables applications of such receiver for the position determination in smaller satellites like Pocket Cube or femto-satellites with a lower energy budget than the Cube Satellite.

The geostationary orbit is a special area in outer space. Because of its distinctive characteristics, it has constantly been the subject of economic and political desirability. Space powers, taking advantage of their technological superiority and rules applied by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) retained a privileged position. Developing countries, responding to this state of affairs, have taken a number of measures to improve their positions. Some of them posed a challenge to the main regulation of space law (Bogota declaration was an attempt to exercise a national sovereignty over the segments of the geostationary orbit), some are based on the use of the legal gaps in ITU regulations. Given these circumstances, the specific case of geostationary belt contributes to the debate on the regulations governing space exploration.

A process of quality development helps us reveal concrete deficiences, an analysis of their origin and realization of required modifications that are needed to solve a concrete problem. One of the aims of quality development of production in bearing industries is to find out an impact of tchnological conditions to form burning of surfaces in grinding of orbits of bearing rings. We try to describe an origin of the problem, to find reasons of burned surfaces in a process of grinding and to propose such technological conditions to avoid above-stated problems and to produce the least possible number of non-identical workpieces. To lower a number of burnings in grinding of the orbit to zero percentage is not real, however, we have to try to get a minimal number of parts with damaged surface.

The authors propose a set of rehabilitation exercises concerning the muscles which are responsible for movement of the eyeball. After surgical treatments of retrobulbar tumors, the function of the eyeball muscles is often inadequate. Some compensation should be created at the level of the central nervous system, which means trigging adaptation, substitution and habituation. The exercises should be started just after the patient is awakened: first in the horizontal position, then sitting position and finally standing position. The highest number of exercises should be done in the direction of extreme diplopia

W pracy przedstawiono wyniki wyznaczania orbit trzech niskich satelitów Ajisai, Starlette i Stella na podstawie obserwacji laserowych 14 stacji SLR wykonanych w latach 2001-2005. Ponadto wyznaczono geocentryczne i topocentryczne współrzędne oraz prędkości w płaszczyźnie horyzontu i przestrzeni 3D czterech stacji Yarragadee (7090), Greenbelt (7105), Graz (7839) i Herstmonceux (7840). Otrzymane wyniki porównano z wynikami otrzymanymi dla satelitów LAGEOS, układu ITRF2005 oraz dla modelu geologicznego NNR-NUVEL1A. Wszystkie obliczenia przeprowadzono w oparciu o model pola grawitacyjnego Ziemi EIGEN-GRACE02S. Przedstawione rezultaty pokazują, że wyniki obserwacji laserowych niskich satelitów takich jak Ajisai, Starlette, Stella mogą być z powodzeniem wykorzystane do wyznaczania współrzędnych i prędkości stacji SLR.
In this work, the results of satellites orbit determination of three low satellites Ajisai, Starlette, and Stella on the laser observations of 14 SLR stations performed in the years 2001-2005 were presented. The geocentric and topocentric positions and velocities in horizontal plane and in 3-D space of four stations Yarragadee (7090), Greenbelt (7105), Graz (7839), and Herstmonceux (7840) were determined. The received results were compared with the results obtained for LAGEOS and with the ITRF2005 and the geological model NNR-NUVEL1A. All calculations have been made assuming the model of the Earth gravity field EIGEN-GRACE02S. The results presented in this work show that the laser data of low satellites such as Ajisai, Starlette or Stella can be successfully applied for determination of the SLR station positions and velocities.
