    Over the past twenty years, critical and bicritical snarks have been appearing in the literature in various forms and in different contexts. Two main variants of criticality of snarks have been studied: criticality with respect to the non-existence of a 3-edge-colouring and criticality with respect to the non-existence of a nowhere-zero 4-flow. In this paper we show that these two kinds of criticality coincide, thereby completing previous partial results of de Freitas et al. [Electron. Notes Discrete Math. 50 (2015) 199–204] and Fiol et al. [Electron. J. Combin. 25 (2017) #P4.54].

    Opis:
    A nowhere-zero unoriented flow of graph G is an assignment of non-zero real numbers to the edges of G such that the sum of the values of all edges incident with each vertex is zero. Let k be a natural number. A nowhere-zero unoriented k-flow is a flow with values from the set {±1, . . ., ±(k − 1)}, for short we call it NZ-unoriented k-flow. Let H1 and H2 be two graphs, H1⊕H2 denote the 2-sum of H1 and H2, if E(H1⊕H2) = E(H1) ∪ E(H2), |V(H1)∩V(H2)|=2, and |E(H1)∩E(H2)| = 1. A triangle-path in a graph G is a sequence of distinct triangles T1, T2, . . ., Tm in G such that for 1 ≤ i ≤ m, |E(Ti)∩E(Ti+1)| = 1 and E(Ti)∩E(Tj)=∅ if j>i+1. A triangle-star is a graph with triangles such that each triangle having one common edges with other triangles. Let G be a graph which can be partitioned into some triangle-paths or wheels H1, H2, . . ., Ht such that G = H1⊕H2⊕...⊕Ht. In this paper, we prove that G except a triangle-star admits an NZ-unoriented 6-flow. Moreover, if each Hi is a triangle-path, then G except a triangle-star admits an NZ-unoriented 5-flow.

    For a connected graph G of order n ≥ 3, let f: E(G) → ℤₙ be an edge labeling of G. The vertex labeling f': V(G) → ℤₙ induced by f is defined as $f'(u) = ∑_{v ∈ N(u)} f(uv)$, where the sum is computed in ℤₙ. If f' is one-to-one, then f is called a modular edge-graceful labeling and G is a modular edge-graceful graph. A modular edge-graceful labeling f of G is nowhere-zero if f(e) ≠ 0 for all e ∈ E(G) and in this case, G is a nowhere-zero modular edge-graceful graph. It is shown that a connected graph G of order n ≥ 3 is nowhere-zero modular edge-graceful if and only if n ≢ 2 mod 4, G ≠ K₃ and G is not a star of even order. For a connected graph G of order n ≥ 3, the smallest integer k ≥ n for which there exists an edge labeling f: E(G) → ℤₖ - {0} such that the induced vertex labeling f' is one-to-one is referred to as the nowhere-zero modular edge-gracefulness of G and this number is determined for every connected graph of order at least 3.

    Opis:
    Some conditions under which any subadditive function is periodic are presented. It is shown that the boundedness from below in a neighborhood of a point of a subadditive periodic (s.p.) function implies its nonnegativity, and the boundedness from above in a neighborhood of a point implies it nonnegativity and global boundedness from above. A necessary and sufficient condition for existence of a subadditive periodic extension of a function ƒ0 : [0, 1) ? R is given. The continuity, differentiability of a s.p. function is discussed, and an example of a continuous nowhere differentiable s.p. function is presented. The functions which are the sums of linear functions and s.p. functions are characterized. The refinements of some known results on the continuity of subadditive functions are presented.

    Let \(h:\tilde{G}→G\) be a finite covering of 2-connected cubic (multi)graphs where G is 3-edge uncolorable. In this paper, we describe conditions under which \(\tilde{G}\) is 3-edge uncolorable. As particular cases, we have constructed regular and irregular 5-fold coverings \(f:\tilde{G}→G\) of uncolorable cyclically 4-edge connected cubic graphs and an irregular 5-fold covering \(g:\tilde{H}→H\) of uncolorable cyclically 6-edge connected cubic graphs. In [13], Steffen introduced the resistance of a subcubic graph, a characteristic that measures how far is this graph from being 3-edge colorable. In this paper, we also study the relation between the resistance of the base cubic graph and the covering cubic graph.

    We show that piecewise smooth maps with a finite number of pieces of monotonicity and nowhere vanishing Lipschitz continuous derivative can have only period doubling solenoids. The proof is based on the fact that if $p_1 < ... < p_n$ is a periodic orbit of a continuous map f then there is a union set ${q_1,..., q_{n-1}}$ of some periodic orbits of f such that $p_i < q_i < p_{i+1}$ for any i.

    Annie’s Ernaux’ A Man’s Place and Assia Djebar’s Nowhere in My Father’s House can be described as accounts of what separates fathers from daughters in the context of generational and class divisions. Ernaux connects the story of her father’s life and death with the one of herself. Djebar returns to the late colonial period and gives a description of complex transcultural experiences. In both books, the authors employ a special literary form which is referred to as récit de filiation by D. Viart. The reconstruction of the Father is directly linked with the reflection on the processes of writing, the sense of literature, and the necessity of rejection of the fathers’ heritage.

    Hamleś is a brilliant etude made in 1960 by young film-maker Jerzy Skolimowski during his studies in famous Film School in Łódź. In ballad form this mysterious and dark story tells about lost hopes of freedom and strange situation of Polish intelligentsia of the late 1950s in connection with characters of Shakespeare’s tragedy. Skolimowski’s parody has typical for this artistic obsessive-compulsive dimension (Don Fredericksen’s term). Skolimowski took the title and protagonists from the classic drama and transmitted the main subject in a way that is much darker and ironic than the original.
