Opis:
In the paper the influence function and the method of partial discretization in free axisymmetric vibration analysis of multilayered circular plates of constant and linearly variable thickness were presented. The effects of shear deformation and rotary inertia for the core as well as the facings were neglected. An analytical investigation based on the classical plate theory was made for the multilayered plate which satisfies Sokołowski’s condition. Discretization of mass and replacing stiffness of a fixed circular plate were presented. Formulas of influence matrix and Bernstein-Kieropian’s estimators for different steps of discretization were defined. The influence of variable distribution of parameters on the value of double estimators of natural basic and higher frequency of a sandwich circular plate was investigated.

In the present paper, we investigate a multi-server queueing system with heterogeneous servers, unlimited memory space, and non-homogeneous customers. The arriving customers appear according to a stationary Poisson process. Service time distribution functions may be different for every server. Customers are additionally characterized by some random volume. On every server, the service time of the customer depends on their volume. The number of customers distribution function is obtained in the classical model of the system. In the model with non-homogeneous customers, the stationary total volume distribution function is determined in the term of Laplace–Stieltjes transform. The stationary first and second moments of a total customers volume are calculated. An analysis of some special cases of the model and some numerical examples are also included.

M/M/n/(m,V) queueing systems with service time independent of customer volume are well known models used in computer science. In real computer systems (computer networks etc.) we often deal with the overload problem. In computer networks we solve the problem using AQM techniques, which are connected with introducing some accepting function that lets us reject in random way some part of the arriving customers. It causes reduction of each customer's mean waiting time and let us avoid jams in consequence. Unfortunately, in this way the loss probability increases. In this paper we investigate the analogous model based on some generalization of M/M/n/(m,V) queueing system. We obtain formulas for a stationary number of customers distribution function and loss probability and we do some computations in special cases.

The investigations under the paper include a derivation of a non-homogenous recurrence equation of the second and higher orders with variable coefficients, whose particular solutions, with the boundary conditions set and obtained from experimental measurements, will be the sequences of the wear value of the bearing in the successive years of operation. Owing to these investigations, it will be possible to predict for example the wear values of slide bearings. Moreover, this paper presents the some particular applications of recurrence equations with regard to the calculation prognosis of micro-bearing parameters such as friction forces, friction coefficients and wear. Recurrence equations are presented in a form of difference equations where the unknown functions occur as the main terms of the sequence of inquired values. In this paper, the properties of the particular values of recurrence equations are defined. Possibility of modulation and control of mentioned problem belong to the artificial intelligence of HDD microbearing. Presented problem describes not continuous relations hence determines the mathematical and numerical solutions in discrete spaces. Properly in the case of continuous functions, the mentioned recurrence equations have the same meaning as differential equations. Recurrent equations for discrete function correspond to differential equations for the continuous function. In final conclusions, the application of presented theory in this paper contains the numerical solutions referring the wear values of HDD bearing system in the indicated period of operating time.

In the paper, we investigate queueing system M/G/∞ with non-homogeneous customers. By non-homogeneity we mean that each customer is characterized by some arbitrarily distributed random volume. The arriving customers appear according to a stationary Poisson process. Service time of a customer is proportional to his its volume. The system is unreliable, which means that all its servers can break simultaneously and then the repair period goes on for random time having an arbitrary distribution. During this period, customers present in the system and arriving to it are not served. Their service continues immediately after repair period termination. Time intervals of the system in good repair mode have an exponential distribution. For such system, we determine steady-state sojourn time and total volume of customers present in it distributions. We also estimate the loss probability for the similar system with limited total volume. An analysis of some special cases and some numerical examples are attached as well.

In the paper, we investigate a single-server queueing system with unlimited memory space and non-homogeneous customers (calls) of the two following types: 1) external customers that are served by the system under consideration, 2) internal customers that arrive and interrupt the service process only when an external customer is being served. The external customers appear according to a stationary Poisson process. Customers of each of the above-mentioned types are characterized by some random volume. The customer service time depends arbitrarily on its volume. Two schemes of customer service organization are analyzed. The non-stationary and stationary distributions of the total volume of customers present in the system are determined in terms of Laplace and Laplace-Stieltjes transforms. The stationary first and second moments of total customers volume are also calculated. The obtained results are used to approximate loss characteristics in analogous systems with limited buffer space. Numerical examples illustrating theoretical results are attached as well.

The purpose of this paper is to present study of thermal creep stress and strain rates in a non-homogeneous spherical shell by using Seth’s transition theory. Seth’s transition theory is applied to the problem of creep stresses and strain rates in the non-homogeneous spherical shell under steady-state temperature. Neither the yield criterion nor the associated flow rule is assumed here. With the introduction of thermal effect, values of circumferential stress decrease at the external surface as well as internal surface of the spherical shell. It means that the temperature dependent materials minimize the possibility of fracture at the internal surface of the spherical shell. The model proposed in this paper is used commonly as a design of chemical and oil plants, industrial gases and stream turbines, high speed structures involving aerodynamic heating.

In this paper, we examine the end-to-end average pairwise error probability (PEP) and output probability (OP) performance of the maximum ratio combining (MRC) based selective decode and forward (S-DF) system over an η–µ scattering environment considering additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). The probability distribution function (PDF) and cumulative distribution function (CDF) expressions have been derived for the received signal-to-noise (SNR) ratio and the moment generating function (MGF) technique is used to derive the novel closed-form (CF) average PEP and OP expressions. The analytical results have been further simplified and are presented in terms of the Lauricella function for coherent complex modulation schemes. The asymptotic PEP expressions are also derived in terms of the Lauricella function, and a convex optimization (CO) framework has been developed for obtaining optimal power allocation (OPA) factors. Through simulations, it is also proven that, depending on the number of multi-path clusters and the modulation scheme used, the optimized power allocation system was essentially independent of the power relation scattered waves from the source node (SN) to the destination node (DN). The graphs show that asymptotic and accurate formulations are closely matched for moderate and high SNR regimes. PEP performance significantly improves with an increase in the value of η for a fixed value of µ. The analytical and simulation curves are in close agreement for medium-to-high SNR values.

Opis:
Software reliability modeling has undergone a continuous evolution over the past three decades to adapt to various and everchanging software testing environments. In existing models, immediate fault removal and fault independency are two basic and commonly used assumptions. Recently, models combining fault detection process (FDP) and fault correction process (FCP) were proposed to alleviate the immediate fault removal assumption. In this paper, we extend such a methodology by proposing a modeling framework for the FDP and FCP incorporating fault dependency. Faults are classified as leading faults and dependent faults and the FCPs for both types of faults are explicitly modeled. Several paired models considering different assumptions for debugging lags are proposed for the combined FDP and FCP. The applicability of the proposed models are illustrated using real testing data. In addition, the optimal software release policy under this framework is studied.
Modelowanie niezawodności oprogramowania w ciągu ostatnich trzech dekad ulegało ciągłej ewolucji, pozwalającej dostosować je do różnych, stale zmieniających się środowisk testowych. Zaproponowano kilka połączonych w pary modeli rozważających różne założenia dotyczące opóźnień debugowania w procesach łączących detekcję i korekcję błędów. Możliwość zastosowania proponowanych modeli przedstawiono na przykładzie rzeczywistych danych testowych. Dodatkowo badano optymalną politykę aktualizacji oprogramowania, jaką można prowadzić w ramach proponowanego paradygmatu.

Opis:
In this paper, stability and instability of Functionally Graded Piezoelectric (FGP) beams is investigated based on the Timoshenko beam theory. The material properties of the beam are considered to change gradually through thickness of the beam by a simple power law. By using the principle of minimum total potential energy, governing equations of the beam are derived. Stability behavior of the beam is predicted by solving the governing equations of the FGP beam. The results show that the homogeneity of boundary conditions plays a critical role in the stability of the FGP beam. While non-homogeneous boundary conditions lead to stable behavior of the FGP beam; homogeneous boundary conditions cause instability in the beam. By solving the eigenvalue equation of the FGP beam, the buckling load of the beam is obtained for the beams that have unstable behavior. Finally, the effects of various parameters on the buckling load of the unstable beam, such as power law index, temperature, applied voltage and aspect ratio are investigated, and the results are compared with the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory.
