    This paper is an essay on the problematic of the globalization of political power and on the increased relevance of institutions in contexts of multifaceted populism. A case study of the Portuguese justice system was used to illustrate the arguments presented. First, the Troika intervention in Portugal is offered as an instance of globalization of political power. Secondly, a model of argumentation analysis of political parties is used to contend that the media coverage of the discourse about austerity during the period of external intervention constituted what can be called multifaceted populism. Finally, the Directorate-General for Justice Policy is presented as an example of the decisive and increased role that institutions can play in times of crisis by presenting a factual and dispassionate vision of the results obtained at the level of public policies.

    This paper seeks to improve comprehension of issues related to political stability. The primary elucidating tool employed is the multifaceted approach to political stability. This is the idea that similar political stability mechanisms can be observed in many different political contexts. These phenomena consist of conspicuous discrepancies between the stability of dimensions or layers of the political sphere. The lack of congruency between political stability and economic stability, differences between the stability of government authorities and the stability of the whole political system, or the gap between social and political stability are examples that are not difficult to grasp in ordinary observations of political appearances. The main task of this paper is to explain and elaborate on the reasons behind this phenomenon. As an additional value, some suggestions of how our findings can change the view on the method of research on political stability are to be found. The outcome of our investigation can be applied to comparative politics, constitutional studies, and political system analysis. The paper is particularly significant for empirically oriented political theory.

    W artykule sformułowano rozważane problemy modelowania i symulacji relacji niezawodnościowych. Modelowaniem relacji niezawodnościowych nazywamy identyfikację systemów, tworzenie modeli relacji niezawodnościowych i weryfikację tych modeli. Tworzenie modeli relacji niezawodnościowych stanowi myślowe odwzorowanie relacji niezawodnościowych i eksperymentalne odwzorowanie (symulacja i badania) relacji niezawodnościowych. Wskazano drogę postępowania w modelowaniu relacji niezawodnościowych według sformułowanych zasad. Wskazano także na użyteczność rozważanego modelowania relatywnie do tych zasad.
    In this paper, considered problems of modelling and simulation of reliability relations are formulated. We call modelling of reliability relations the identification of systems, the creation of models of reliability relations and the verification of these models. The creation of models of reliability relations is a mental expression of reliability relations and an experimental expression (simulation and investigation) of reliability relations. The proceeding course in modelling of reliability relations according to formulated basic principles is shown. The utility of considered modelling in relation to these principles is also pointed out.

    Attention of rational purchaser or seller of real estate is focused on the prices and properties of similar real estates. In the light of the theory of valuation, differentiation in prices on the local market is explained by variation in a few most important properties of marketed real estate. Thus, in the practice of valuation, a important issue is to decide which of many possible attributes are significant and what is their individual contribution to the market price that can be achieved. In this paper, this problem has been solved using the model of regression trees (C&RT). The study covered undeveloped land designed in local plans for single-family housing development, situated on the northern outskirts of Krakow. A regression tree permitted a simple assessment of the impact of the different attributes on real estate prices. This method enables prediction of the market value, but it requires knowledge of at least several tens, or preferably many hundreds, of transactions relating to similar real estates. For that reason, it is predestined for mass valuations.
    Uwaga racjonalnych nabywców i sprzedawców nieruchomości koncentruje się na cenach i cechach obiektów podobnych. W świetle teorii wyceny zróżnicowanie cen tłumaczy się zróżnicowaniem kilku najistotniejszych cech, jakimi charakteryzują się nieruchomości stanowiące przedmiot obrotu. Stąd w praktyce szacowania wartości ważną kwestią jest rozstrzygnięcie, które z atrybutów mają istotne znaczenie i jaki jest ich indywidualny wkład w możliwą do uzyskania cenę rynkową. W artykule problem ten rozstrzygnięto przy wykorzystaniu modelu drzew regresyjnych C&RT. Badaniem objęto nieruchomości gruntowe niezabudowane, przeznaczone w planach miejscowych na cele budownictwa jednorodzinnego, położone na północnych peryferiach Krakowa. Drzewo regresyjne umożliwiło prostą ocenę wpływu poszczególnych atrybutów na ceny nieruchomości. Metoda drzew pozwala przewidywać wartość rynkową, ale wymaga wiedzy o co najmniej kilkudziesięciu, a najlepiej kilkuset transakcjach obiektami podobnymi. Z tego względu jest więc predestynowana do wycen o charakterze masowym.

    In the common opinion, old age is still a taboo. Among the variety of the difficulties experienced by the elderly, there are also an increasingly occurring struggle with acclimating to the aging, and a sense of being a burden. The article focuses on the issue of loneliness, especially among elderly people. It is also an attempt to answer the questions of whether the old people experience loneliness, and what are the factors that affect this condition. In order to reply to these questions, the author attempted an analysis of the issues basing on literature, using theoretical analysis data and the earlier research.

    Polish research on the Enlightenment developed in the first half of the 20th century but gained new momentum in the period after the Second World War. At that time, efforts were made to outline a picture of the phenomenon with a strong ideological character, but also a program of recognising important and hitherto not widely studied areas, above all of the literary cultures, was developed. A systematic exploration of sources was also started, and preparations for scientific editions of literary works were undertaken. These activities meet two permanently up-to-date requirements: an interdisciplinary, comparative, historical and ideological approach, as well as the necessary and constant contact with the source material. The research examined the source, sociological-cultural, structuralist and historical-ideological perspectives but focused on the Enlightenment itself. In this situation, the works should be primarily contextual. Based on the previous and new critical studies, it is necessary to undertake systematic research on the position and role of the Enlightenment in the development of Polish culture – in the context of old Polish culture and Romanticism and the phenomenon of modernity. A good reference to this issue is the already introduced concept of change, which allows to dynamise the image and situate the phenomenon of the Enlightenment in the broader time perspective. The second – related to the previous – problem that requires theoretical reflection and reflection on the source material is the anthropological perspective of viewing literature and culture. Such issues as ways of constructing the speaking “I” in different literary genres, ways of expressing the identity of the “I” and shaping the collective identity may shed new light on the epoch, require research consideration and reference to the main tendencies of the so-called new humanities. Such approaches will make it possible to introduce research on the Enlightenment into the dialogue with the latest tendencies of this humanities, test the usefulness of its proposals for historical works, and check the usefulness of new approaches.

    W niniejszym artykule zestawiono i porównano dwóch lekarzy-humanistów, którzy żyli i tworzyli w pierwszej połowie XVII wieku. Interesując się jednocześnie literaturą i medycyną, pozostawili oni po sobie dzieła ukazujące wielorakość składników kultury tamtego okresu. Choć specjalizowali się w różnych gatunkach literackich, w satyrze i w emblemacie, to obaj wykorzystali teorię czterech płynów ustrojowych w oryginalny i właściwy sobie sposób. Pierwszy z nich, Thomas Sonnet de Courval (1577-1627), zastosował tę teorię w kontekście tradycyjnego sporu o kobietę do wyjaśnienia sporów małżeńskich, dając po raz pierwszy nie wartościującą, lecz naukową ich wykładnię. Drugi z autorów natomiast, Louis de Caseneuve (1577-1627), starał się uwypuklić dominujące cechy każdego z czterech temperamentów po to, aby za pomocą alegorii i mnemotechniki ułatwić zapamiętywanie doktryny fizjologicznej. Utwory tych dwóch humanistów stanowią tym samym interesujący przykład przenikania medycyny do sztuki literackiej w epoce późnego Renesansu.
    This study considers and compares two humanist physicians who lived and were actif in the first half of the 17th century. Both of them interested in literature and medicine created works that testify to the multifaceted culture of the period. Within two different literary genres, satire and emblem, and in their own distinctive way, they deal with the doctrine of the four temperaments. Thomas Sonnet de Courval (1577-1627) perceives the theory from the perspective of the contemporary literary “Debate on Women” which discussed the institution of marriage, and gives not an axiological, but a scientific explanation of the issues raised. On the other hand, Louis de Caseneuve (1577-1627) tries to stress dominant features of the four temperaments in order to facilitate memorizing the physiological doctrine through allegory and mnemotechnics. The works of these two authors are interesting examples of how medicine and literature are interwoven in the humanist culture of the late Renaissance period.

    Przedstawianie czasu wolnego jako czasu poza pracą nie oddaje w pełni współczesnej rzeczywistości, gdzie czas pracy i czas wolny na skutek m.in. elastycznego czasu pracy czy obecności technologii mobilnych ulegają zacieraniu. Dodatkowo coraz częściej mamy do czynienia z sytuacjami, kiedy jednostki wykonują równocześnie dwie i więcej aktywności (ang. multitasking) czy z tymi wskazującymi na wielowymiarowość praktykowania czasu wolnego (ang. multi-dimensional nature of leisure). Tym samym w badaniu czasu wolnego niemożliwe są do utrzymania tradycyjne metodologie ilościowe oparte na dychotomii praca – czas wolny. Tekst prezentuje doświadczeniową perspektywę podejścia do problematyki czasu wolnego opartą na metodologii interpretatywnej i triangulacji metod badawczych. Efektem takiego podejścia jest perspektywa myślenia o czasie wolnym, która zrywa z tradycyjną dychotomią praca – czas wolny na rzecz subiektywnego doświadczania, którego wynikiem jest różnorodność form, stylów i sposobów spędzania czasu wolnego w zmiennym kontekście społecznym.
    The presentation of leisure time as time spent away from work does not fully reflect contemporary reality, in which working time and leisure are blurring due to factors such as flexible working hours or mobile technologies. Furthermore, individuals who engage in two or more activities at the same time (multitasking) or those indicating the multidimensional nature of leisure are becoming more common. As a result, traditional quantitative methodologies based on the work-leisure dichotomy are unsuitable for studying leisure. Based on interpretative methodology and research method triangulation, the text presents an experiential perspective on the approach to leisure. This approach results in a way of thinking about leisure that rejects the traditional work-leisure dichotomy in favour of subjective experience, resulting in a variety of forms, styles, and ways of experiencing leisure time in a changing social context.

    The article outlines the operating concept of the recommended multifaceted gridirons on an elastic bearing support, analyses the excursion of the gridiron, justifies the characteristics and gives the results of comparative production tests. As well as the effective scheme and principle of work of cotton cleaner from large impurities are presented based on the research of fluctuations in the parameters of a grid-iron on an elastic support system. The obtained results of the recommended cotton cleaner were provided. Experiment results showed that the cleaning purificatory effect increases on average by up to 8.11% in comparison with the existing option of a fire grate; mechanical damage to seeds decreases by up to 1.09%, and free fibre in the seed-cotton decreases two times, to 0.113%. With an increase in the resistance of cotton from 19.7 Н up to 60 Н (average value), the movement of the gridiron increases from 0.65·10-3 m up to 3.2·10-3 m. This is due to the fact that in the interaction of raw cotton with vibroisolating conical grates, cotton-yarn is additionally shaken, increasing their direction of movement due to the taper rate of the gridirons, which leads to an increase in the cleaning effect.
    W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję działania rusztów wielopłaszczyznowych na elastycznej podporze łożyskowej, analizowano wychylenie rusztu, omówiono ich właściwości i przedstawiono wyniki porównawczych testów produkcyjnych. Jak również udowodniono skuteczny schemat i zasadę działania środka do czyszczenia bawełny z dużych zanieczyszczeń. Wyniki eksperymentu wykazały, że efekt oczyszczania wzrósł średnio o 8,11% w porównaniu z opcją rusztu ogniowego. Uszkodzenia mechaniczne nasion zmniejszyły się nawet o 1,09%, a ilość wolnego włókna w bawełnie nasiennej zmniejszyła się dwukrotnie, do 0,113%. Wraz ze wzrostem wytrzymałości bawełny od 19,7 do 60 Н (wartość średnia) ruch rusztu wzrastał od 0,65×10-3 do 3,2×10-3 m. Wynika to z faktu, że w interakcji surowej bawełny z wibroizolacyjnymi kratkami stożkowymi, przędza bawełniana jest dodatkowo wytrząsana, zwiększając kierunek ich ruchu ze względu na stopień zwężania się rusztów, co prowadzi do zwiększenia efektu czyszczenia.

    This study discusses the formation and development of cybersecurity studies since the creation of the Internet. Although the origin of cybersecurity studies dates back to the 1970s, hacking, malicious software, computer intrusions, and espionage attacks that took place in the 1980s led cybersecurity studies to form in the area of computer science. By the 1990s, the Internet began to be used widely, and an increase in the level of attacks in cyberspace began to occur. This period was a major reason for the growth in writing on software and network security. Network security has become a key priority for governments and many industries. Cybersecurity studies have become a priority area in security studies with the increasing complexity of cyber threats towards 2000s. States and some supranational organizations have started to create cybersecurity strategies. The security of critical infrastructure and computer networks has begun to emerge as a high-priority area. It has been observed that the transition from classical security policies to modern security policies, which should be established in the information age, has begun. Cybersecurity studies were taken more seriously after the 2007 Estonian attacks, especially in the 2010s. In this period, the intensity of attacks on critical infrastructures and the occurrence of some physical attacks caused cybersecurity to deepen and become an issue on an international scale. Cybersecurity studies continue to be shaped by being influenced by many different disciplines, regardless of any discipline, with the important discussions and cyber incidents that have taken place in recent years. Therefore, the studies were handled from a multidisciplinary perspective.
    W niniejszym opracowaniu omówiono powstawanie i rozwój studiów nad cyberbezpieczeństwem od momentu powstania Internetu. Chociaż początki studiów nad cyberbezpieczeństwem sięgają lat 70tych dwudziestego wieku, hakerstwo, złośliwe oprogramowanie, włamania do komputerów i ataki szpiegowskie, które miały miejsce w latach 80tych, doprowadziły do ukształtowania się cyberbezpieczeństwa w obszarze informatyki. W latach 90tych internet zaczął być powszechnie wykorzystywany i wzrosła ilość ataków w cyberprzestrzeni. Okres ten był głównym powodem wzrostu zainteresowania bezpieczeństwem oprogramowania i sieci. Bezpieczeństwo sieci stało się kluczowym priorytetem dla rządów i wielu branż. Wraz z rosnącą złożonością cyberzagrożeń w 21 wieku studia nad cyberbezpieczeństwem stały się priorytetowym obszarem w studiach nad bezpieczeństwem. Państwa i niektóre organizacje ponadnarodowe zaczęły tworzyć strategie bezpieczeństwa cybernetycznego. Bezpieczeństwo infrastruktury krytycznej i sieci komputerowych zaczęło wyłaniać się jako obszar o wysokim priorytecie. Zaobserwowano, że rozpoczęło się przejście od klasycznych do nowoczesnych polityk bezpieczeństwa, które powinny być tworzone w erze informacji. Studia nad bezpieczeństwem cybernetycznym były traktowane poważniej po atakach estońskich z 2007 roku, zwłaszcza w drugiej dekadzie 21 wieku. Obecnie intensywność ataków na infrastrukturę krytyczną oraz wystąpienie niektórych ataków fizycznych powodują, że problem cyberbezpieczeństwa pogłębia się i staje się problemem w skali międzynarodowej.
