Opis:
The article presents the concept of a hybrid propulsion unit for ultralight aircraft. A combustion unit and an electric motor/generator were presented. As part of the research, a dedicated combustion engine controller and a two-way converter for energy conversion were built. The prototype drive unit was installed on a test stand and its initial characteristics were determined. The results of research and conclusions related to the construction of a hybrid drive unit are presented.
W artukule przedstawiona została koncepcja hybrydowej jednostki napędowej dla ultralekkich statków powietrznych. Przedstawione zostały jednostka spalinowa a także silnik/generator elektryczny. W ramach badań zbudowany został dedykowany sterownik silnika spalinowego i dwukierunkowa przetwornica do konwersji energii. Prototypowy zespół napędowy zabudowano na stanowisku badawczym i wyznaczono jego wstępne charakterystyki. Przedstawiono wyniki badań i wnioski związane z budową hybrydowej jednostki napędowej.

This article presents the process of designing a fuzzy logic controller (FLC) to be applied in the control system for the tracking movement of an omnidirectional Mecanum-wheeled platform, where the tracking movement is defined as the execution of a specific movement of the omnidirectional Mecanum-wheeled platform along a preset path. The conventional PID controller, which is a popular choice for control systems, was replaced with a control algorithm featuring fuzzy logic elements. The findings from numerical testing of the control system with the applied FLC were compared with the results of numerical testing using a variant of a conventional PID controller. The comparison led to a feasibility study of the FLC for the kinematic control of the omnidirectional Mecanum-wheeled platform. The article compares the results of applying an FLC and a variant of a conventional PID controller for the tracking control of an omnidirectional-wheeled platform with mecanum wheels. It was assumed in this work that kinematic equations would be sufficient in this case to plan the trajectory (path) of a characteristic point for the omnidirectional-wheeled platform.

This paper focuses on designing a gain-scheduled (G-S) state feedback controller (SFC) for synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) speed control with non-linear inductance characteristics. The augmented model of the drive with additional state variables is introduced to assure precise control of selected state variables (i.e. angular speed and d-axis current). Optimal, non-constant coefficients of the controller are calculated using a linear-quadratic optimisation method. Non-constant coefficients are approximated using an artificial neural network (ANN) to assure superior accuracy and relatively low usage of resources during implementation. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time when ANN-based gain-scheduled state feedback controller (G-S SFC) is applied for speed control of SynRM. Based on numerous simulation tests, including a comparison with a signum-based SFC, it is shown that the proposed solution assures good dynamical behaviour of SynRM drive and robustness against q-axis inductance, the moment of inertia and viscous friction fluctuations.

Opis:
An equivalent sliding mode control method of an induction motor speed has been discussed. The control signal consists of two parts: a continuous and discontinuous one. Very good dynamical response of the drive system has been obtained, which however changes influenced by external and parametric disturbances occurring under various operation conditions. In order to ensure identical dynamic performance of the speed transients and system robustness during the switching line reaching phase, regardless of external and parametric disturbances, the time-varying switching line is proposed. The simulation results have been validated by experimental tests of the induction motor drive system.

A universal controller for brushless direct current (BLDC) motors was designed in the presented article. The system is controlled from the user console where operating parameters are set by the user. Signals are transmitted by cables to microcontrollers which control and monitor electric motors. Microprocessors communicate via a data bus. The controller contains the user console module and the motor control module. The user console module generates commands, and motors are controlled and monitored by the control module. Motor control modules operate independently, and each brushless motor has a dedicated control module. Brushless motors can be controlled in bipolar or unipolar mode. The control method is selected by the operator. The user console and motor controllers communicate via the I²C bus.

A system for processing data from an infrared transmitter was built. The project was upgraded in successive stages of development, and it ultimately evolved into a small computer with a motor controller. The designed system automatically adjusts the motor’s rotation and speed. The user is tasked only with conveying operational commands. The entire system is based on a single microcontroller. The designed optoelectronic system receives user commands (the program can be modified to support free-space optical communication networks conforming to all communication standards). The system activates the motor, counts the number of rotations and adjusts the motor’s position.The designed system operates on the following principle: the user sends commands to the motor via a remote control with an infrared diode. The keys on the remote control have been programmed with different commands. The transmitted data are processed by the system which activates the motor and sets the desired motor speed. The task is completed, and the system is ready to process the next command. If the number of rotations differs from the preset value, the motor’s position is adjusted. If the physical position of the rotor axis is altered, the system corrects the offset to the last programmed position. The designed system can be easily adapted to various types of motors and IR controllers.

In this project, a system was designed there was designed a system for charging batteries in electric vehicles using photovoltaic panels. Low cost of operation, cheap reliable construction and simple user interface were among the main criterias taken into account. Each energy source was carefully selected and, modules were used so that they could in the way to power the microcontroller and charge the energy storage source. A control system for a three-phase induction motor was designed with the use of optoelectronic components and methods. Motor speed was controlled by changing supply voltage frequency. This solution ensures a wide range of rotational speeds, constant torque and effective start-up of an induction motor. The designed motor is supplied with direct current converted to three-phase alternating current. The adopted solution relies on renewable sources of energy to produce DC power. The designed electric motor is controlled by changing supply voltage frequency. Input voltage with the desired waveform is generated by the motor’s electronic system that relies on two microcontrollers. The presented solution features a user interface.

W artykule przedstawiono strukturę systemu do sprawdzania kondensatorów przeciwzakłóceniowych oraz schemat stanowiska pomiarowego. Z racji złożoności tego systemu, w ramach prac projektowych wykonano analizę rodzajów i skutków niezdatności (FMEA). W wyniku analizy wyselekcjonowano te rodzaje niezdatności, które są szczególnie istotne dla zapewnienia jakości działania systemu (niezdatność kontaktów elektrycznych oraz niezdatność parametryczna, polegająca na nadmiernym i niekontrolowanym wzroście niepewności pomiarów ponad granice dopuszczalnej tolerancji). Wyniki analizy FMEA poddano weryfikacji praktycznej przez opracowanie i zbadanie modeli głównych modułów systemu (pomiarowych i mechatronicznych), które decydują o precyzji pomiarów i wydajności testowania. Pozytywnie zweryfikowano procedury pomiarów głównych parametrów kondensatorów, przewidzianych do realizacji w ramach systemu do testowania. Zweryfikowano także układ detekcji impulsów prądu oraz układ kontroli kontaktów pomiarowych. W ramach badań doświadczalnych sprawdzano modele układów ładowania i rozładowania, bardzo zbliżone do przewidywanych rozwiązań docelowych. Wyniki doświadczalne pozwalają na optymalny dobór elementów, rzutujących na jakość badań i bezpieczeństwo obsługi systemu, tj.: przekaźniki wysokonapięciowe, rezystory mocy, kontakty teleskopowe. Na podstawie zebranych doświadczeń opracowano projekt oraz zbudowano model systemu do kontroli kondensatorów przeciwzakłóceniowych, który zostanie wdrożony w firmie Miflex S.A. w Kutnie.
This paper presents the concept of a measurement system for capacitor testing. The diagram of the measurement stand has been also shown. Because of the high system complexity during design phase, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) was carried out. As the result of the FMEA analysis, the failures that are particularly important for the quality of system operation were selected (electrical contact failures and parametric failures, i.e. an excessive and uncontrolled rise in measurement uncertainty above the limits of acceptable tolerance). The results of FMEA analysis were practically verified using the models (mechatronic and measurement models) of the main system modules that were designed and tested and which decide on the measurement accuracy and efficiency of testing. The measurement procedures for the main parameters of capacitors were also positively verified. The current pulse detection modules and measurement contact checking circuits were verified too. The main problems related to the quality of testing as well as their solutions have been presented. Many tester modules, e.g. measurement head, pulse detector, high voltage relays, and pneumatic cylinders, that have direct effect on the quality of tests and operator safety have been also checked. The Capacitor Testing System that has been designed and will be used in Miflex S.A. in Kutno has also been presented together with its characteristic parameters.

W artykule przedstawiono optymalizację parametryczną regulatora PI w przestrzeni stanu. W procesie optymalizacji wykorzystano konwersję transmitancyjnego matematycznego modelu do równania stanu i problem liniowo-kwadratowy (LQ). Omówiono reprezentację układu regulacji jako systemu jednopętlowego. Przedstawiono optymalizację dla napędu z silnikiem obcowzbudnym oraz dla napędu z silnikiem indukcyjnym (metoda DTC-SVM).
In this paper the PI controller parametric optimization in state-space is presented. The conversion from transfer-function to statespace mathematical model and linear-quadratic (LQ) control problem is used in optimization process. Representation of the control system as one-loop system is discussed. Optimization for drive with separately excited DC motor and drive with induction motor (DTC-SVM method) is presented.

PIC microcontroller has a vital role in various types of controllers and nowadays the presence of PIC microcontroller is unavoidable in most control applications. This paper describes the enhancement of soft starting of induction motors using PIC microcontroller. Soft starting is required for the induction motors with reduced applied voltages so that the peak starting current is reduced and the startup of the motor is smooth with controlled torque and reduced mechanical vibrations, reduced starting current with correspondingly reduced bus voltage drops. While many of the available schemes of soft starting offer better results in view of smooth starting process, the proposed methodology offers soft starting as well as it cares about the source current quality. In contrast to the conventional multistep starting scheme, in this work a continuously controlled starting scheme is proposed. The three phase AC voltage controller topology is used as the core controller. In each of the half cycles, instead of a single conduction period with a single delay angle, the proposed AC voltage controller is switched symmetrically in each half cycle with multiple pulses in each quarter cycle. Symmetrically placed fixed numbers of switching pulses are used. The paper also describes the various time ratio controls namely the phase angle controller, the extinction angle controller and the symmetrical angle controller. The design aspects of the proposed soft starting scheme and the validation of the proposed system in the MATLAB SIMULINK environment are presented in this paper.

W artykule omówiono sterowanie silnika bezszczotkowego prądu stałego małej mocy oraz zjawiska występujące w rzeczywistym silniku. Zaprezentowano także sposób sterowania bezszczotkowego silnika prądu stałego. Zrealizowano także własny sterownik małej mocy, umożliwiający płynny rozruch i kontrolę prędkości obrotowej silnika do 3 tys. obrotów i napięciu zasilającym do 32V DC. W niniejszym artykule zostały także zaprezentowane wyniki z przeprowadzonych pomiarów sterowania silnikiem BLDC używanym w pojazdach samochodowych, głównie w ciężarowych i autobusach.
The article discusses low-power brushless motors and control modules that are used, among others, in trucks and buses. Also presented are methods of controlling brushless DC motors. The own low power controller was also implemented, enabling smooth start-up and control of the engine speed up to 3,000 revolutions and supply voltage up to 32V DC. This article also presents the results of the measurements of BLDC motor control used in automotive vehicles, mainly in trucks and buses.

Opis:
The paper presents the problem of position control of DC motor with rated voltage 24 V loaded by flywheel. The fractional order PD controller implemented in National Instruments NI ELVIS II programmed in LabView is used for controlling. The simple method for determining stability regions in the controller parameters space is given. Knowledge of these regions permits tuning of the controller and ensures required the phase margin of the system.
