Opis:
In this paper, the thermal behavior and decomposition kinetics of trinitrohexahydrotriazine (RDX) and its polymer bonded explosive (PBX) containing a hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) based polyurethane binder in the ratio 80% RDX/ 20% HTPB were investigated using various experimental techniques and analytical methods. The HTPB polyurethane matrix contains other additives and was cured using hexamethylene diisocyanate (HMDI). Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Vacuum Stability Test (VST) and Ignition Delay Techniques were applied both isothermally and non-isothermally. The kinetic parameters were determined using both the isoconversional (model free) and the model-fitting methods. For comparison, Advanced Kinetics and Technology Solution (AKTS) software was also used. It was found that the addition of an HTPB-based polyurethane matrix to pure RDX decreased its decomposition temperature. It was also found that RDX/HTPB has a lower activation energy than pure RDX. The polyurethane matrix had a significant effect on the decomposition mechanism of RDX resulting in different reaction models. It was concluded that the activation energies obtained using the Ozawa, Flynn, and Wall (OFW) and Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose (KAS) methods were very close to the results obtained via the AKTS software lying in the range 218.3-220.2 kJ•mol−1. The VST technique yielded kinetic parameters close to those obtained using TG/DTG. On the other hand, the Ignition Delay Technique yielded different and inconsistent kinetic parameters.

In this article, we propose two model free control schemes that are based on pulse height modulation using low frequencies with the goal to compensate normal friction effects in drive trains that negatively influence the performance of e.g. a standard PID controller. The first control scheme uses pulse height modulation to especially compensate stick slip effects but increases vibration and noise in the drive train. To reduce such side effects a modified phase shifed pulse height control scheme based on multiple actuated joints is introduced. Both control schemes are compared with a standard linear controller as reference and evaluated by using six quality criteria.

A novel decoupled Multi-Input-Multi-Output Model Free Control strategy is presented in this paper to improve the performance of an active suspension system implemented on a half car model. To damp vibrations generated by road excitation, an algebraic online compensator was integrated in the structure of a classical PID controller to avoid the impact of unpredictable disturbances. The key element of the proposed technique is a non-asymptotic observer that can avoid the use of statistical conventional techniques. Furthermore, the advantage of easy implementation is achieved where only two accelerometers are sufficient and adequate. A comparison with classical PID and LQR is provided to demonstrate the improvement made by the proposed scheme.

This paper presents a robust model free controller (RMFC) for a class of uncertain continuous-time single-input single-output (SISO) minimum-phase nonaffine-in-control systems. Firstly, the existence of an unknown dynamic inversion controller that can achieve control objectives is demonstrated. Afterwards, a fast approximator is designed to estimate as best as possible this dynamic inversion controller. The proposed robust model free controller is an equivalent realization of the designed fast approximator. The perturbation theory and Tikhonov’s theorem are used to analyze the stability of the overall closed-loop system. The performance of the developped controller are verified experimentally in the position control of a pneumatic actuator system.

Opis:
Teleoperation robotic systems control, which enables humans to perform activities in remote situations, has become an extremely challenging field in recent decades. In this paper, a Model Free Proportional‐Derivative Slid‐ ing Mode Controller (MFPDSMC) is devoted to the syn‐ chronization problem of teleoperation systems subject to actuator dynamics, time‐varying delay, model uncer‐ tainty, and input interaction forces. For the first time, the teleoperation model used in this study combines actuator dynamics and manipulator models into a single equation, which improves model accuracy and brings it closer to the actual system than in prior studies. Further, the proposed control approach, called Free, involves the simple mea‐ surement of inputs and outputs to enhance the system’s performance without relying on any knowledge from the mathematical model. In addition, our strategy includes a Sliding Mode term with the MFPD term to increase system stability and attain excellent performance against external disturbances. Finally, using the Lyapunov func‐ tion under specified conditions, asymptotic stability is established, and simulation results are compared and provided to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed strategy.

Opis:
The disadvantages of the conventional model predictive current control method for the grid-connected converter (GCC) with an inductance-capacitance-inductance (LCL) filter are a large amount of calculation and poor parameter robustness. Once parameters of the model are mismatched, the control accuracy of model predictive control (MPC) will be reduced, which will seriously affect the power quality of the GCC. The article intuitively analyzes the sensitivity of parameter mismatch on the current predictive control of the conventional LCL-filtered GCC. In order to solve these issues, a model-free predictive current control (MFPCC) method for the LCL-filtered GCC is proposed in this paper. The contribution of this work is that a novel current predictive robust controller for the LCL-filtered GCC is designed based on the principle of the ultra-local model of a single input single output system. The proposed control method does not require using any model parameters in the controller, which can effectively suppress the disturbances of the uncertain parameter variations. Compared with conventional MPC, the proposed MFPCC has smaller current total harmonic distortion (THD). When the filter parameters are mismatched, the control error of the proposed method is smaller. Finally, a comparative experimental study is carried out on the platform of Typhoon and PE-Expert4 to verify the superiority and effectiveness of the proposed MFPCC method for the LCL-filtered GCC.

The paper presents design and experimental validation of a stable self-tuning PID controller for three degrees of freedom (3-DOF) helicopter. At first, it is proposed a self-tuned proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller for a class of uncertain second order multiinput multi-output nonlinear dynamic systems to which the 3-DOF helicopter dynamic model belongs. Within this scheme, the PID controller is employed to approximate unknown ideal controller that can achieve control objectives. PID controller gains are the adjustable parameters and they are updated online with a stable adaptation mechanism designed to minimize the error between the unknown ideal controller and the used by PID controller. The stability analysis of the closed-loop system is performed using Lyapunov approach. It is proven that all signals in the closed-loop system are uniformly ultimately bounded. The proposed approach can be regarded as a simple and effective model-free control since the mathematical model of the system is assumed unknown. Experimental results are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

In this work, imidazolium 2,4,5-trinitroimidazolate was obtained from 2,4,5-tri-iodoimidazole in a yield of 48%. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis showed that this compound belongs to the triclinic crystal system with space group P-1. Thermogravimetric-differential scanning calorimetry (TG-DSC) was performed under a nitrogen atmosphere at heating rates of 5, 10, 15 and 20 °C·min−1. Compound 3 clearly exhibits an exothermic decomposition. The activation energy (E) and pre-exponential factor (lnA) calculated by the Kissinger method were 113.67 kJ·mol−1 and 25.30 s−1, respectively. The E values obtained by the FWO and KAS methods changed slightly from 103.33 to 113.69 kJ·mol−1 and from 101.52 to 111.97 kJ·mol−1, respectively, which makes us believe that its thermal decomposition can be described using only one reaction model. The Šatava-Šesták method and the compensation effect were used to study the thermal decomposition mechanism of imidazolium 2,4,5-trinitroimidazolate. [Formula] is regarded as the most appropriate thermal decomposition kinetic equation. The impact sensitivity, friction sensitivity, detonation velocity and explosion pressure of imidazolium 2,4,5-trinitroimidazolate were 43 cm, 46%, 7056.9 m·s−1 and 1.9703 · 1010 Pa (ρ = 1.538 g·cm−3), respectively. Imidazolium 2,4,5-trinitroimidazolate is incompatible with RDX, HMX, TKX-50 and CL-20.

In the solution structure of the ribosome-associated cold shock response protein Yfia of Escherichia coli in the free state two structural segments can be distinguished: a well structured, rigid N-terminal part displaying a βαβββα topology and a flexible C-terminal tail comprising last 20 amino-acid residues. The backbone dynamics of Yfia protein was studied by 15N nuclear magnetic relaxation at three magnetic fields and analyzed using model-free approach. The overall diffusional tumbling of the N-terminal part is strongly anisotropic with a number of short stretches showing increased mobility either on a subnanosecond time scale, or a micro- to millisecond time scale, or both. In contrast, the unstructured polypeptide chain of the C-terminal part, which cannot be regarded as a rigid structure, shows the predominance of fast local motions over slower ones, both becoming faster closer to the C-terminus.

Tunnel thrusters are propulsion and active control devises that provide a side force, or transverse thrust, to support mooring operations or position keeping. They shorten the time of manoeuvring, reduce the cost of towage and since inception, manoeuvrability specifically in ports has become a lot easier. Tunnel thrusters can either be operated manually or with the help of Dynamic Positioning systems which makes it even more efficient. Theoretically, the transverse force due to tunnel thruster action should generate only lateral and rotational motion. Therefore, it is typical and a common practice during manoeuvring simulations that the longitudinal motion due to the action of tunnel thrusters is neglected. Nevertheless, the experience of masters and pilots shows that some longitudinal motion due to the action of tunnel thrusters appears. This paper shows some examples of turning manoeuvres carried out with bow thrusters only, i.e. no additional control devices or tug assistance have been used. The manoeuvres have been carried with minimal possible initial longitudinal nor lateral speed. Model tests have been done with the use of large manned models of VLCS, PCTC and LNG carrier, which differ in hull shape, dimensions and shape coefficients. Results obtained from the tests confirm that the motion caused by bow thruster besides rotational and lateral motion consists additionally of longitudinal motion. Analysis of the combination of motions due to the action of tunnel thrusters have been done and some rationale for this phenomenon has been presented. Additionally a short analysis of position of pivot point during tunnel thruster test has been carried out.

Although the role of computational methods (CFD) in prediction of the hydromechanic qualities of ships grows rapidly, the role of the physical experiment is still very important (if not principal). Concerning the experimental investigations focused on manoeuvring abilities of ships, there are two main approaches to be applied: open water model tests and captive model tests (Planar Motion Mechanism). The paper contains some basic information concerning the first of mentioned methods including the evolution of the measuring techniques, applied equipment and methodology. These changes result not only from technological progress, but also reflect different expectations of our Clients. In the case of mentioned open water manoeuvring model test, its specific character determines a little bit different approach, which combines some strictly scientific objectives, i.e. prediction of the manoeuvring abilities, with commercially attractive and direct demonstration of the results. Thus, in parallel with description of the measuring systems used during the tests (starting from mechanical/optical torograph system to modern laser tachimeter system), evolution of the visualization systems is also presented. In addition, some future trends in the development of the open water tests station in Joniny has been described including experimental work as well as basic/auxiliary equipment.

The aim of this study was to develop a model of dendrite growth. The model should emphasis on solute depletion around dendrite tip and its influence on dendrite growth rate. Prepared model can be used to predict dendrite growth rate in metallic alloy. It was assumed that dendrite while growing occupy a spherical envelope with radius R that consists of solid dendrite and interdendritic melt enclosed by dendrite arms. Set of differential equations that built the model can be solved with numerical methods. The solution allows determination of dendrite growth rate and alloy component distribution in the liquid adjected to the dendrite and inside the solid dendrite.

This paper proposes novel forecasting models for fractional-order chaotic oscillators, such as Duffing’s, Van der Pol’s, Tamaševičius’s and Chua’s, using feedforward neural networks. The models predict a change in the state values which bears a weighted relationship with the oscillator states. Such an arrangement is a suitable candidate model for out-of-sample forecasting of system states. The proposed neural network-assisted weighted model is applied to the above oscillators. The improved out-of-sample forecasting results of the proposed modeling strategy compared with the literature are comprehensively analyzed. The proposed models corresponding to the optimal weights result in the least mean square error (MSE) for all the system states. Further, the MSE for the proposed model is less in most of the oscillators compared with the one reported in the literature. The proposed prediction model’s out-of-sample forecasting plots show the best tracking ability to approximate future state values.
