Opis:
Nanostructured thermoelectric materials receiving great attention for its high thermoelectric performance. In this research, nanostructured n-type Bi2 Te2.7 Se0.3 alloys have prepared using high energy ball milling and followed by spark plasma sintering. Also, we have varied ball milling time to investigate milling time parameter on the thermoelectric properties of n-type Bi2 Te2.7 Se0.3 powder. The powders were discrete at 10 min milling and later particles tend to agglomerate at higher milling time due to cold welding. The bulk fracture surface display multi-scale grains where small grains intersperse in between large grains. The maximum Seebeck coefficient value was obtained at 20-min milling time due to their lower carrier density. The κ values were decreased with increasing milling time due to the decreasing trend observed in their κL values. The highest ZT of 0.7 at 350 K was observed for 30-min milling time which was ascribed to its lower thermal conductivity. The Vickers hardness values also greatly improved due to their fine microstructure.

Opis:
Oxide-dispersion-strengthened high-entropy alloys were produced by hot-pressing a ball-milled mixture of Y2O3 and atomized CoCrFeMnNi powder. The effect of milling duration on grain size reduction, oxide formation behavior, and the resulting mechanical properties of the alloys was studied. Both the alloy powder size and Y2O3 particle size decreased with milling time. Moreover, the alloy powder experienced severe plastic deformation, dramatically generating crystalline defects. As a result, the grain size was reduced to ~16.746 nm and in-situ second phases (e.g., MnO2 and σ phase) were formed at the defects. This increased the hardness of the alloys up to a certain level, although excessive amounts of in-situ second phases had the reverse effect.

Opis:
The aim of the current study is to optimize the conditioning process of a primitive rye called (in Polish) krzyca which has recently been reintroduced to farming. The experiment was conducted according to the Box-Behnken model with three independent variables: the temperature of water used for grain conditioning (10, 15, 20°C), the duration of the conditioning process (4, 10, 16 h) and the final grain moisture (13, 14, 15 %). In the obtained flours, four dependent variables were determined (time of grain milling, yield of extraction flour, ash content of flour and falling number value). The obtained polynomial equations and response surface method showed on significance of the used ranges of independent values, with the highest impact noted for flour ash and falling number values.

Knowing the standard operating times of technological operations is essential element in the business operations of every production enterprise. It is the basis for establishing the production capacity, planning the production schedule, or even calculating costs. The article presents a variety of methods used in the calculation of standard worktime of technological operations. An especially important distinction was made between calculating the total machining time and the actual cutting time. Through the examination of various machined flat surfaces, the results of worktime calculations from CATIA and the authored mathematical model are presented

Opis:
CNC milling machines are frequently used in the manufacturing of mechanical parts in the industry. One of the most important components of milling machines is the cutting tool. Monitoring the cutting tool wear is important for the reliability, continuity, and quality of production. Monitoring the tool and detecting the stage of wear are difficult processes. In this work, the convolutional neural network (CNN), which is a deep learning method in which the features are extracted by an inner process, was performed to detect the wear stages of the milling tool. These stages that define the total lifespan of the tool are known as initial wear (IW), steady-state wear (SSW), and accelerated wear (AW). Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT) was applied to signals, and signal spectrograms were used to train CNN models with different complex architectures. Vibration signals, acoustic emission signals, and motor current signals from The Nasa Ames Milling Dataset were used to obtain the spectrograms. Pre-trained CNNs (GoogleNet, AlexNet, ResNet-50, and EfficientNet-B0) detected the tool wear stage with varying accuracies. It has been seen that the time duration of model training increases as the size of the dataset grows and the network architecture becomes more complex. The recommended method has also been tested on the 2010 PHM Data Challenge Dataset. CNN shows promise for condition monitoring of milling operations and detecting tool wear stage.

The paper analyses the impact of specified technological parameters of milling (vc , fz, ap ) on time to ignition. Stages leading to chip ignition were analysed. Metallographic images of magnesium chip were presented. No significant difference was observed in time to ignition in different chip fractions. Moreover, the surface of chips was free of products of ignition and signs of strong oxidation.

Opis:
This paper presents the results of a study investigating the problem of safety in dry milling magnesium alloy AZ91D. Selected indicators of safe machining were analyzed, including time to ignition, ignition temperature, chip mass and morphology. Experiments were performed using carbide end mills with a variable edge helix angle. It was observed that magnesium alloys could be dry milled without the risk of chip ignition. The milling process conducted with the axial depth of cut ap set to 6 mm was found to be optimum (a great amount of leading fraction A was produced). Unfortunately, however, some machining conditions proved to be inductive to the formation of chip powder known as magnesium dust. For most cases, chips obtained using the tool with λs 50° had higher unit mass than those obtained with λs 20°. Metallographic images of chips confirmed the safe range of the machining parameters employed (no partial melting or burn marks were observed). Determined on a specially designed test stand outside of the machine tool, time to ignition can be an effective parameter for performing simplified chip ignition simulations.
