Proces kształcenia studentów uczelni wojskowych oraz potrzeba ukształtowania właściwej sylwetki osobowo – zawodowej jej absolwentów, nie może funkcjonować bez wymogu aktywnego wspierania jego ludzkiego czynnika. Stanowi on główny cel pracy dydaktycznej podlegającej czynnikom kierowania tym procesom. Świadome motywowanie to jedynie wycinek wieloaspektowego oddziaływania na studentów uczelni wojskowych, a na podstawie analizy literatury można uznać, iż proces motywowania funkcjonujący w uczelni wojskowej jest silnym motorem napędzającym wszelkie działania jej członków. Traktowanie zagadnień zjawiska motywacji w organizacji o charakterze zhierarchizowanym w sposób pobieżny może doprowadzić do zaburzeń w wykształceniu oficera – profesjonalisty.
The process of educating students at military schools, as well as a need to shape the proper personal and professional profile of their graduates, will not work if to actively support its human factor is not required. It constitutes the main goal of educational activity that is subject to the factors of directing these processes. Conscious motivation is only part of a multifaceted influence on students at military schools, and following an analysis of literature one may conclude that the process of motivation existing in a military school is a strong force driving all the actions undertaken by its members. Dealing with the issues of motivation in an extremely hierarchical organization in a cursory way may pervert the education of an officer-a professional.

This paper presents recent research focused on the role of subtitled audio-visual material on foreign language acquisition. The author distinguishes various types of subtitled audio-visual content and comments on their usefulness and possible impact on the learning process, presenting other researchers’ opinion and his own perspective. Different types of content (videos, games) are categorized and properly commented regarding their influence on different language skills and competences. Also, the author shows ways the learners can experience such content for learning purposes. Possible application of such methods for advanced distributed learning is investigated, with LMS ILIAS used a base for exercises.

Higher military education is nowadays undergoing numerous changes due to the “Concept of the development of higher military education in 2017-2026” adopted in 2016. The following article looks at the planned modifications in the context of training aviation personnel for the needs of the Air Force. The “Training military pilots” section discusses the process of training candidates to be military pilots, the main problems related to it as well as the nature of the system of training and educating the cadets of the Polish Air Force University. The considerations in the next section of the article concern the selection of candidates for military pilots. The recruitment, consisting of several stages, aims to efficiently identify the best candidates for service in aviation. The screening training, the aim of which is to check the predispositions of candidates for serving as pilots, is a novelty in this process. The chapter “Selection” looks at the solutions applied so far in the School of Eaglets, and also analyses the benefits of the new recruitment method. The final sections of the article concern the profile of the graduates of the Polish Air Force University, their target skills and the development plans of the University in the face of the challenges posed.

The process of recruitment and the selection of candidates for the studies conducted at the Military Academy of Land Forces is a typical process performed by a higher education school. The method of description characteristic of logistic processes is an attempt to justify the thesis about the interdisciplinary nature of management science and can be a significant contribution to the search for an effective personnel management tool in organisations.

W pracy przedstawiono rolę komunikacji marketingowej w budowaniu wizerunku uczelni oraz główne jego elementy. Potrzeba budowania pozytywnego wizerunku wynika z niematerialnego i specyficznego charakteru usługi edukacyjnej, narastających trudności z pozyskaniem jej odbiorców oraz silnego uzależnienia pozycji uczelni od podmiotów otoczenia. Opisano badania potwierdzające decydujący wpływ wizerunku uczelni na wybór miejsca studiów. Zwrócono uwagę, że pozytywny wizerunek jest również podstawowym warunkiem realizowania przez uczelnię misji społecznej.
The article describes the role marketing communication plays in creating an image of a higher education school as well as its main components. A need to create a positive image results from the immaterial and unique character of an educational service, increasing difficulty in attracting clients and strong dependence of the school’s position on its environment. The results of the survey conducted among students confirm the decisive influence of an image on the choice of a higher education school. A positive image also constitutes the fundamental condition for fulfilling the social mission of a higher education school.

The presented material covers issues related to managing a military university as a special type of organization. On the one hand, it is a research and didactic structure, on the other, it is a military unit supervised by the Minister of National Defense. The functioning of this interesting, from the point of view of management sciences and quality of construction, subject to military canons and common law, including those relating to the space of operation of universities in general. A privileged place in the publication is occupied by issues that relate to the management of a military university, taking into account its characteristic structure for this type of organization, its resources and individual qualities of management. At the same time, innovative management methods and techniques are essential for all content included in the publication, which today seems to be necessary to be implemented in any modern and well-managed organization.
Zaprezentowany materiał obejmuje zagadnienia związane z kierowaniem uczelnią wojskową, jako szczególnego typu organizacją. Z jednej strony jest ona strukturą badawczo-dydaktyczną, z drugiej zaś jednostką wojskową nadzorowaną przez ministra obrony narodowej. Funkcjonowanie tej interesującej, z punktu widzenia nauk o bezpieczeństwie oraz zarządzaniu i jakości konstrukcji, podlega kanonom wojskowym i prawu powszechnemu, w tym odnoszącemu się do przestrzeni działania szkół wyższych w ogóle. Uprzywilejowane miejsce w publikacji zajmują kwestie, które dotyczą kierowania uczelnią wojskową, biorąc pod uwagę jej charakterystyczną dla tego typu organizacji strukturę, posiadane zasoby oraz indywidualne walory kierownictwa. Istotne dla całości treści uwzględnionej w publikacji są innowacyjne metody i techniki zarządzania, które współcześnie wydają się być konieczne do wprowadzenia w każdej nowoczesnej i dobrze zarządzanej organizacji.

W swoich rozważaniach podejmował również problematykę koszar wojskowych jako instytucji totalnej i głównie to skłoniło twórcę niniejszego artykułu do eksploracji tej problematyki. W artykule zaprezentowano funkcje i cechy jakie posiadają organizacje tego typu, z zaakcentowaniem miejsca i roli słuchaczy Studium Oficerskiego w realiach wojskowej szkoły wyższej jako instytucji totalnej.
In his article "Commissioning Course Trainees in Context of Total Institution Concept. Sociological Perspective", the author describes the concept of a total institution, an institution which, according to this study, a military academy is undoubtedly an example of. The creator of this idea, Erving Goffman, mainly surveyed the environment of total institutions from the angle of prisons and mental institutions. He also discussed military barracks as a total institution, which is what made the author of this article gain more insight into the issue. The article presents the functions and characteristics of such organisations, emphasizing the role and position of commissioning course trainees in the reality of a military academy as a total institution.

In his article "Commissioning Course Trainees as Officers in Polish Armed Forces in the Context of Social Changes", the author describes the issue of social change occurring in the Polish Armed Forces, in particular in the system of military training of civilian university graduates attending the commissioning course at the Tadeusz Kosciuszko Land Forces Military Academy in Wroclaw. This model of training within a 12-month commissioning course has been in place for six years and is addressed to civilian university graduates with a master's degree.The article emphasizes the issues of social change undoubtedly occurring in the system of military education within which civilian university graduates are trained to become officers in the Polish Armed Forces.

The article presents the history of the military higher education system, which is connected to the shaping of the Polish statehood as well as its present state. The structure of this type of education system was dependent on the e ectiveness of socio-economic, political and military activities of public authorities. However, it is only the November Uprising which is generally associated with the revolt of the o cers from the O cer Cadets School [Szkoła Podchorazych] in Warsaw. The changes which occur within the military education system on account of its adjustment to the requirements of the Act “Law on higher education” of 27 June 2005 are very positive. They accommodate military higher education institutions to the public system of higher education, they in uence the development and the quality of education in these institutions, they obliged them to implement the regulations arising from the National Quali cations Framework and to observe all the procedures arising from the legislations which are enacted in the domain of higher education by the competent public authorities.
