    Opis:
    The objective of the analysis conducted and described in this paper has been to present the practical application of the Six Sigma method based on the DMAIC cycle in improving the quality of the service process. The first part of the article contains the theoretical framework of six sigma and the issue of using its tools in the aspect of services. Afterwards, there has been calculated the initial sigma value which indicated the need for improvement. Measurement phase has been developed by the value stream mapping, process FMEA and customer survey which results have been analyzed in Pareto chart and fishbone diagram. Improve phase includes the Impact&Effort Matrix and target sigma level that can be achieved as a result of failures reducing and service quality improvement.

    The article presents the results of stability analysis of castings manufacturing system. For the analysis, the Six Sigma DMAIC (Define- Measure-Analyse-Improve-Control) methodology has been applied. The studies demonstrated the ability to reduce the variance of the process, and therefore the quantity of defects.

    The aim of the article is application of Six Sigma method in glue applying process during assembling of IGBT modules of products family SEMiX3 performed in manufacture of SEMIKRON company. There are also used other tools and methods as Pareto diagram, Ishikawa diagram, hypothesis testing, Voice of the customer, involved in DMAIC cycle. There was found, that the most important impact of the glue applying process is the amount of glue. This is related to time savings and also Money savings as well as reduce the number of repairs.

    Celem pracy było określenie skuteczności wykorzystania metody DMAIC do redukcji odpadu wynikającego z błędów wizualnych podczas produkcji filtrów do wody w przedsiębiorstwie X. W pracy użyto metody case study oraz wykorzystano metody jakościowe do pomiaru i analizy danych. Zaprezentowano i przedyskutowano wyniki projektu przeprowadzonego przy wykorzystaniu narzędzi DMAIC (Define – definiuj, Measure – mierz, Analyze – analizuj, Improve – ulepszaj, Control – nadzoruj). Zastosowanie tej metody skutkowało usystematyzowaniem działań przeprowadzanych podczas projektu, zidentyfikowaniem czynników powodujących defekty wizualne filtrów, określeniem najważniejszych przyczyn występowania odpadów, poprawą procesu produkcji i kontroli, zwiększeniem świadomości kadry pracowniczej i dostosowaniem procesu produkcji, tak aby finalny produkt w jak największym stopniu spełniał oczekiwania konsumenta.
    The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of using DMAIC method to reduce the waste arising from visual errors during the production of water filters in company X. The case study method and qualitative methods were used to measure and analyse the data. The results of the project were presented and discussed with the use of DMAIC tools (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control). An application of this method resulted in the systematization of activities carried out during the project, identification of the factors causing visual defects of filters, determining the most important causes of the occurrence of waste, improvement of production process and control, increasing awareness of personnel and adapting the production process so the final product meets the expectations of the consumer as much as possible.
