In this paper we examine boundedness of fractional maximal operator. The main focus is on commutators and maximal commutators on generalized Orlicz spaces (also known as Musielak-Orlicz spaces) for fractional maximal functions and Riesz potentials. We prove their boundedness between generalized Orlicz spaces and give a characterization for functions of bounded mean oscillation.

We prove a sharp pointwise estimate of the nonincreasing rearrangement of the fractional maximal function of ⨍, $M_{γ}⨍$, by an expression involving the nonincreasing rearrangement of ⨍. This estimate is used to obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the boundedness of $M_γ$ between classical Lorentz spaces.

For large classes of indices, we characterize the weights u, v for which the Hardy operator is bounded from $ℓ^{q̅}(L^{p̅}_{v})$ into $ℓ^{q}(L^{p}_{u})$. For more general operators of Hardy type, norm inequalities are proved which extend to weighted amalgams known estimates in weighted $L^p$-spaces. Amalgams of the form $ℓ^{q}(L^{p}_{w})$, 1 < p,q < ∞ , q ≠ p, $w ∈ A_p$, are also considered and sufficient conditions for the boundedness of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator and local maximal operator in these spaces are obtained.

We consider a quasilinear vector differential equation which involves the p-Laplacian and a maximal monotone map. The boundary conditions are nonlinear and are determined by a generally multivalued, maximal monotone map. We prove two existence theorems. The first assumes that the maximal monotone map involved is everywhere defined and in the second we drop this requirement at the expense of strengthening the growth hypothesis on the vector field. The proofs are based on the theory of operators of monotone type and on the Leray-Schauder fixed point theorem. At the end we present some special cases (including the classical Dirichlet, Neumann and periodic problems), which illustrate the general and unifying features of our work.

Opis:
We consider dynamic problems which describe frictional contact between a body and a foundation. The constitutive law is viscoelastic or elastic and the frictional contact is modelled by a general subdifferential condition on the velocity, including the normal damped responses. We derive weak formulations for the models and prove existence and uniqueness results. The proofs are based on the theory of second-order evolution variational inequalities. We show that the solutions of the viscoelastic problems converge to the solution of the corresponding elastic problem as the viscosity tensor tends to zero and when the frictional potential function converges to the corresponding function in the elastic problem

In the present paper, we study in the harmonic analysis associated to the Weinstein operator, the boundedness on $L^p$ of the uncentered maximal function. First, we establish estimates for the Weinstein translation of characteristic function of a closed ball with radius $ε$ centered at 0 on the upper half space $\mathbbR^{d-1}× ]0,+∞[$. Second, we prove weak-type $L^1$-estimates for the uncentered maximal function associated with the Weinstein operator and we obtain the $L^p$-boundedness of this operator for $1 < p ≤+∞$. As application, we define a large class of operators such that each operator of this class satisfies these $L^p$-inequalities. In particular, the maximal operator associated respectively with the Weinstein heat semigroup and the Weinstein-Poisson semigroup belong to this class.

In this paper we study a maximal operator \(\mathcal{M}f\) related with the best \(\varphi\) approximation by constants for a function \(f\in L^{\varphi'}_{\text{loc}}(\mathbb{R}^n)\), where we denote by \(\varphi'\) derivative function of the \(C^1\) convex function \(\varphi\). We get a necessary and sufficient condition which assure strong inequalities of the type \(\int_{\mathbb{R}^n} \theta(\mathcal{M}|f|)dx\leq K \int_{\mathbb{R}^n} \theta(|f|) dx\), where \(K\) is a constant independent of \(f\). Some pointwise and mean convergence results are obtained. In the particular case \(\varphi (t) = t^{p+1}\) we obtain several equivalent conditions on the functions \(\theta\) that assures strong inequalities of this type.

This paper concerns two notions of rank of fuzzy matrices: maximal column rank and column rank. We investigate the difference of them. We also characterize the linear operators which preserve the maximal column rank of fuzzy matrices. That is, a linear operator T preserves maximal column rank if and only if it has the form T(X) = UXV with some invertible fuzzy matrices U and V.
