Celem badań jest ocena sposobu rozumienia znamienia „wiele” zawartego w przepisach art. 115 § 2, 163, 165, 166, 169 § 2 i 300 § 3 kodeksu karnego, które jest poważnym problemem teoretycznym i praktycznym. Znamię to jest różnie rozumiane w doktrynie i orzecznictwie. Niekiedy stwierdza się, że nie jest możliwe wskazanie konkretnej liczby, lecz określenie wielości następuje w nawiązaniu do konkretnego stanu faktycznego. W nieostrym znamieniu „wiele” widać element luzu decyzyjnego wprowadzonego decyzją ustawodawcy. Inni autorzy dostrzegają potrzebę ustawienia granic dla znamienia „wiele”, wskazując najczęściej na konieczność interpretowania go w związku z liczebnikiem „kilka”. Badania są próbą weryfikacji tych stanowisk przy zastosowaniu metody formalno-dogmatycznej analizy przepisów kodeksu karnego.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the way of understanding the meaning of the “many” mark appearing in the provisions of art. 115 § 2, 163, 165, 166, 169 § 2 and 300 § 3 of Penal Code, which is real theoretical and practical problem. It is variously understood in doctrine and jurisprudence. Sometimes it is indicated that it’s not possible to determine a specific number, but the evaluation of the multiplicity takes place in relation to a specific factual situation, seeing in the out of focus the “many” element of decision-making slack introduced by the decision of the legislator. Other authors recognize the need to set the “many” boundary with the most often indicated in relation to the interpretation of the numeral “several”. The research is attempt to verify these positions using the formal-dogmatic method of analyzing the provisions of the penal code.

After a very general exegetical introduction, we put forward a new arrangement and translation of the major testimonies on Zeno of Elea. The few passages that are generally regarded as fragmenta verbatim are also cited in the original. The source material is presented in a reconstructive order that is somewhat different from the previous editions of Zeno. Our aim is to capture the specific problematic context of the ancient authors who refer and question Zeno’s arguments, without isolating and break up theses texts. The particular passages have been provided with thematic headings.

Łoś’s pioneer system has been presented here, the system constructed by Ngoc Duc Ho, in which the internal logic in this system is used by the knowing subject as the three-valued logic of Łukasiewicz and the third logical value is understood as “unjustified”, and the four-valued system of N. Belnap, the system that allows for the occurrence of propositions which are evaluated both as true and false.

The temporal logic KtT4 is the modal logic obtained from the minimal temporal logic Kt by requiring the accessibility relation to be reflexive (which corresponds to the axiom T) and transitive (which corresponds to the axiom 4). This article aims, firstly, at providing both a model-theoretic and a proof-theoretic characterisation of a four-valued extension of the temporal logic KtT4 and, secondly, at identifying some of the most useful properties of this extension in the context of partial and paraconsistent logics.

Parmenides was not a metaphysician (he was a materialist), so there is no such thing as Parmenidean metaphysics. Plato’s Parmenides, however, offers metaphysical insights otherwise overlooked by readers unfamiliar to what St. Thomas Aquinas offers concerning the One and the Many. This article highlights some of these insights and will interest students of St. Thomas. It might also acquaint students of Plato to a more perfect metaphysics, and it could even corrode the beliefs of others who maintain that there is no such thing as metaphysics. The fact that none of the sciences may dispense with the first science is brought heavily to bear upon the reader of the Parmenides, who finds it otherwise impossible to resolve any of the difficulties attendant upon reconciling the One and the Many. The many apparent contradictions between the One and the Many displayed in Plato’s Parmenides really cannot be solved without sound metaphysics, and sound metaphysics cannot proceed unaided by St. Thomas and his inheritors. Artykuł jest poświęcony utworowi The Piano Dance Pawła Kwapińskiego (ur. 1988), absolwenta kompozycji w gdańskiej Akademii Muzycznej (klasa prof. Andrzeja Dziadka) i UMFC (klasa prof. Pawła Łukaszewskiego) oraz Podyplomowych Studiów Kompozycji (UMFC) w klasie prof. Mariana Borkowskiego. Za utwór ten otrzymał specjalne wyróżnienie na konkursie kompozytorskim w Wiedniu (2014). Dzieło składa się z 11 sekcji, następujących attacca. W niektórych kompozytor dopuścił możliwość wyboru kolejności mniejszych fragmentów przez wykonawcę. Utwór ma przebieg jednokierunkowy, lecz w niektórych sekcjach istnieje możliwość poliwersyjnego wykonania według określonych przez kompozytora sugestii. Dzieło nawiązuje do dwudziestowiecznych środków techniki kompozytorskiej, takich jak aleatoryzm, sonoryzm, dwunastodźwiękowość i atonalność, jednakże nie są one traktowane przez kompozytora w sposób dogmatyczny. Wykorzystuje on ich elementy do wykreowania własnego języka muzycznego. Kompozycja prezentuje wysoki stopień trudności wykonawczych, inicjuje nowe możliwości brzmienia fortepianu po okresie postmodernistycznym.
The article discusses the work of Paweł Kwapiński (born 1988), composer, graduate of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk (class of Prof. Andrzej Dziadek) and the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (class of Prof. Paweł Łukaszewski). He also completed postgraduate composition studies in the class of Prof. Marian Borkowski. He received a special award for this piece at the Composer’s Competition in Vienna (2014). The composition consists of 11 sections, following in the attacca sequence. In some cases, the composer allowed for the performer’s choice of the order of the smaller pieces. The composition is unidirectional, but in some sections there is a possibility of a polyphonic performance as suggested by the composer. The work refers to the twentieth-century means of compositional technique, such as aleatoricism, sonorism, twelve-tone technique and atonality, but they are not approached in a dogmatic way by the composer who uses their elements to create his own musical language. The composition presents a high degree of performance difficulty, initiating new possibilities for the piano sound after the postmodern period.

The purpose of this paper is to offer a logico‑philosophical critical overview of the theory of multiple realities (TWR). The paper is divided into three sections. In the first section I present a brief history of the development of some ideas, which combined together form the conceptual framework of the theory in question, whose main thesis is that there is more than one reality. In the second part I present (and try to address) some interpretations of TWR, which can be described as: ontological; epistemological; esthetical; logical ad mixed interpretations. When doing so, a special emphasis is laid on the presentation of an explication of TWR based on theory of models, an explication authored by Teresa Kostyrko. This explication rests on a conditional recognition of the particular ‘realities’ of Chwistek’s theory as proper models (i.e. those, which fulfill the condition of the identity of meaning of theory’s fundamental notions) of the theories of reality, with the provision that such models are indeed constructible. In the last section of my paper I propose a preliminary appraisal of the TWR as well as a way to reengineer this theory in order to avoid some of its difficulties. By appealing to Kostyrko’s idea on one hand and the spirit Quinean ontological relativism on the other, I wish to argue as follows: (1) ‘reality’ is the name of the set comprising all meanings of the term ‘reality’; (2) under particular conditions these meanings can be arranged in a theory, which posseses a proper model (scientific discourse, some forms of the common talk); (3) model proper designate by definition classes of objects, which we regard as existent on the grounds of a given theory. The above set of theses forms the core of a concept, which I propose to call the ‘manifold reality’ in order to differentiate it from TWR, the development of which theory it is, as well as its modification towards a new kind of ontology.

We consider a semilinear Robin problem driven by the Laplacian plus an indefinite and unbounded potential and a superlinear reaction term which need not satisfy the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition. Using variational tools we prove two theorems. An existence theorem producing a nontrivial smooth solution and a multiplicity theorem producing a whole unbounded sequence of nontrivial smooth solutions.

We define, for some variant of a many-to-many market model of Gale-Shapley type, a concept of generalized competitive equilibrium and show that, under suitable conditions, stable matchings in such a model can be represented as competitive equilibria allocations (and vice versa). Our results are far-reaching generalizations of the “discrete supply and demand lemma” of Azevedo, Leshno (2011) for the college admissions market. Using the results of Alkan, Gale (2003), we also prove a theorem on existence of generalized equilibria in our model.
W artykule zdefiniowano, dla pewnego wariantu modelu rynku Gale’a-Shapleya (typu „many-to-many”), pojęcie uogólnionej równowagi konkurencyjnej i pokazano, że przy odpowiednich założeniach, skojarzenia stabilne w tym modelu mogą być reprezentowane jako alokacje równowag konkurencyjnych (i vice versa). Przedstawione wyniki są daleko idącymi uogólnieniami „lematu o podaży i popycie” z pracy Azevedo, Leshno (2011) dotyczącego modelu rekrutacji kandydatów do szkół. Wykorzystując wyniki Alkana, Gale’a (2003), udowodniono również twierdzenie o istnieniu uogólnionych równowag dla podanego modelu.

Different approaches to quantum gravity proposal such as string theory, doubly special relativity, and also black holes physics, all commonly address the existence of a minimal measurable length of the order of the Planck length. One way to apply the minimal length is changing the Heisenberg algebra in the phase space which is known as the generalized uncertainty principle. It is essential to apply this feature on the statistical mechanics of many body systems in the presence of a measurable minimal length scale in order to see the roles of this natural cutoff on physical phenomena. In this paper, some details of statistical mechanics of many body systems that have not been studied carefully in literature are studied in the presence of minimal length scale. The issues such as isomerization, the Liouville theorem, virial theorem and equipartition theorem are studied in this setup with details and the results are explained thoroughly.
