The paper deals with the problem of creating a knowledge database on system dependability and resilience, created on the basis of available system and application logs. Special to ols to collect and analyse these data from many systems have been developed. Taking into account a wide spectrum of various logs we explore them locally and globally. This allowed for identification of characteristics of normal operation and anomalous behaviour. A lot of attention is paid to the problem of selecting measures to identify symptoms characterising system operation and their usefulness in dependability and resilience evaluation or prediction. The concepts presented are illustrated with experience gained during monitoring of real systems.

In the paper we address the challenge of applying process mining techniques for discovering models of underground mining operations based on a sensor data. The paper presents practical approach of creation an event log based on industrial sensors data gathered in an underground mine monitoring systems. The proposed approach enables to generate event logs at different generalization levels based on several numbers of discovered stages of devices performance. For discovering process stages data mining techniques such as exploratory data analysis, clustering and classification have been applied. Created event log has been used in one of the process mining tasks - process model discovery.

Process modelling is a very important stage in a Business Process Management cycle enabling process analysis and its redesign. Many sources of information for process modelling purposes exist. It may be an analysis of documentation related directly or indirectly to the process being analysed, observations or participation in the process. Nowadays, for this purpose, it is increasingly proposed to use the event logs from organization’s IT systems. Event logs could be analysed with process mining techniques to create process models expressed by various notations (i.e. Petri Nets, BPMN, EPC). Process mining enables also conformance checking and enhancement analysis of the processes. In the paper issues related to process modelling and process mining are briefly discussed. A case study, an example of delivery process modelling with process mining technique is presented.

This study presents an opportunity to utilize peeler cores derived from poplar wood for the production of hollow beams. In this way, final products to meet the needs of consumers can be obtained. The proposed novel methods for sawing and gluing the produced materials allow rational application of the waste raw material in the plywood manufacturing. Another advantage in this case is that products with a square cross-section with dimensions close to or corresponding to the standard ones are obtained from small-diameter round wood. The raw material used to receive the proposed hollow beams is up to 33% less than a conventional beam with the same dimensions. The manufactured products are lighter and with a significantly stable cross-sectional shape, compared to natural wood beams with the same dimensions. Sawing the peeler cores and obtaining materials with a triangular and trapezoidal cross-section helps to achieve volume yields from 60.6% to 71.1% of the raw material initial volume.

W artykule tym przedstawiono problem wyszukiwania informacji w dziennikach systemowych. Zapisy z dzienników pozwalają na rozwiązanie wielu problemów nieprawidłowego działania systemu, czy wybranej aplikacji. Zastosowana procedura przetwarzania potokowego składa się z kilku etapów i jest bardzo elastyczna. Można ją łatwo zmodyfikować i wykorzystać do innych zastosowań.
This article presents the problem of searching for information in the system log. Records from the logs allow you to solve many problems of a system malfunction. The procedure of processing pipeline consists of several steps and it is very flexible. It can be easily modified and used for other applications.

Pre-dive checks and dive logs are fundamental documentation for any diving operation and must be incorporated as mandatory ‘good operating practices’ in scientific diving (SD) projects. Data included in dive logs may vary in detail, however, there is basic information to provide based on global standards. Differently to several developed countries in Europe, North America and Australasia, there are countries with incipient, sometimes non-regulated, SD programmes. In this article the importance of documentation in SD is highlighted and record forms are provided as templates, including versions both in English and Spanish. The Diving Supervisor (DS) is the designated person to fill the ‘Daily SciDive Log’ and ‘SCUBA & surface-supplied LogSheet’ (Table 1, 2 and 3, respectively), whilst every diver is responsible for filing their own ‘SciDiver’s Digital LogBook’ (Table 4). General and specific considerations for all tables are described throughout the text. This effort was done to facilitate systematic data management and start developing the bases towards solid national/regional standards on scientific diving operations, particularly for those countries with incipient (scientific) diving programmes.

New geophysical investigations, capable of highlight the most thin gas saturated layers, offers for depleted gas reservoirs a new chance. Lately Romgaz, used most types of anterior mentioned investigations, in purpose of analyzing the petrophysical properties of thin sands. Thereby, there had been identified within depleted gas reservoirs, many layers saturated with gas, which after perforation had been confirmed. After, these were included in the effective thickness zone, constitute the foundation for gas resources and reserves reevaluation. In this paper there will be presented some concrete examples regarding the usage of these high resolution logs, for a better definition of reservoir properties.

Deadwood is an important component of forest ecosystems, and difference in the deadwood carbon stock depends on many variables including forest management. The aim of our study was to determine the patterns of formation of deadwood stocks in oak (Quercus robur L.) forests in the Left Bank Forest-steppe of Ukraine. As an outcome of the research, the data on deadwood parameters were obtained. The growth characteristics and coarse woody debris (CWD) characteristics were measured on intensive monitoring and inventory plots. Assessment of morphometric parameters of the CWD in oak stands was carried out by measuring diameters at top and bottom cut and length; to determine the carbon content, deadwood density was used. The distribution of deadwood by tree species, sizes and stages of decomposition was defined. The stock of dead trees (snags) in oak forest is 15.2 m3/ha and that of logs is 21.5 m3/ha. The carbon accumulation in oak forest stands in the Left Bank Forest-steppe of Ukraine was 3.4 and 4.5 t C/ha in dead trees and logs, respectively. The dynamics of deadwood stocks according to the results of repeated observations was given.

The efficiency of wood transport depends not only on the maximum load capacity, but also on the duration of individual transport operations. The purpose of the presented research is to analyze the duration of transport stages of Scots pine large−size wood (saw logs) and indicate the factors that affect the structure of the duration of the entire operation. The operation was divided in to truck driving for a load on a public and forest road, driving between loading points in the forest including timber loading, driving with saw logs on a forest and public road, waiting for entry to the sawmill as well as verification and unloading of wood in the sawmill. Data on the duration of each operation was determined on the basis of information obtained from the course information cards. The waiting time for entering the sawmill as well as wood checking and unloading was based on data from wood reception in sawmill. 1514 randomly selected transports in a period of twelve months from 40 forest districts were analyzed. The average time of empty drive for a load by public road was 1:03 [hh:mm], with the range from 0:01 to 7:30. Driving time with a load to the sawmill was an average of 1:23, with the span from 0:05 to the 5:30. Driving on forest roads for load and with load is at a similar level of 11−12 minutes. The average time of loading wood in the forest was 39 minutes, with a minimum of 10 minutes, and maximum of 3 hours. Most trucks entered the plant immediately, nevertheless the average waiting time was 38 minutes, and the majority (75%) of transports need to wait up to one hour. Volume and quality checking, as well as unloading in the plant, took 42 minutes on average. The shortest delivery lasted 1:00 and the longest 17:37. The average transport duration of wood to the sawmill was 4:51. The number of places for loading wood in the forest has significant impact on the duration of collecting the load, and thus also on the time of the entire delivery. The largest fraction in the total duration of transport is associated with traveling on public roads. 27.1 and 28.8% is the time of loaded truck, and 20.5% and 21.7% is the time of the empty ride. A big difference (5%) occurs the time of collecting wood in the forest depending on the number of places from which wood was loaded. This time has a significant share (17.45%) in the structure of the delivery duration. Duration of the individual stages of wood transport in particular months shows little variability.

This paper was made using geological and well logging data from the Cuban oilfield area and the Polish Carpathian Foredeep gas deposit to compare the interpretation process and underline similarities and differences between data analysis from two reservoir rocks of different lithology. Data from conventional hydrocarbon deposits, i.e. the Mesozoic Cuban carbonate formation and Miocene shaly-sandy sediments were processed and interpreted using Techlog (Schlumberger Co.) software. Selected approaches were used to determine the step by step volume of shale, total and effective porosity, water/hydrocarbon saturation (Quanti) and for the comprehensive interpretation of well logs (Quanti Elan). Brief characteristics of the carbonate and siliciclastic formations were presented to indicate that the interpretation methodology oriented to the determination of petrophysical properties depends strongly on the type of reservoir. Cross-plots were presented for primary mineral composition recognition, determination of m exponent and resistivity of formation water in the Archie equation. Effective intervals for the carbonate reservoir were calculated according to the Cumulative Hydrocarbon Column methodology. Finally, the results of the interpretation of well logs were presented as continuous curves of mineral composition, including shaliness, porosity and hydrocarbon saturation. The conclusions included recommendations for the effective comprehensive interpretation of well logs in the carbonate and siliciclastic reservoirs.

W artykule przedstawiono analizę przyczyn najczęściej spotykanych błędów podczas rejestracji i wstępnego opracowania profilowań geofizyki otworowej, zarówno danych archiwalnych uzyskanych przy użyciu sprzętu starszego typu, jak i współczesnych, rejestrowanych sondami firmy Halliburton. Autorzy omawiają sposoby identyfikacji tych błędów oraz możliwości korekty dostosowane do określonych warunków. Prezentują graficzne przykłady błędnych zapisów oraz efekty ich eliminacji. Podają przykłady zastosowania skorygowanych i ujednoliconych profilowań do petrofizycznej analizy ilościowej, obejmującej określenie składu mineralnego, porowatości i zawodnienia. Zdaniem autorów rezultaty tak prowadzonej analizy umożliwiają generację wiarygodnych, syntetycznych (teoretycznych) profilowań gęstości i czasu interwałowego, stanowiących pożądane dane wejściowe przy rozwiązywaniu różnych problemów geologicznych z zakresu poszukiwań, eksploatacji i magazynowania węglowodorów, pozyskiwania źródeł energii geotermalnej i w wielu innych dziedzinach.
This paper presents a causal analysis of the most common errors occurring during recording and preliminary processing of well logs on both archival as well as current data obtained with Halliburton tools. The authors discuss the ways to identify and to correct these errors, under specific conditions. They present graphic examples of recording errors and the effects of their elimination. Examples of applying corrected standardized logs in petrophysical quantitative analysis involving determination of mineral composition, porosity and water saturation are provided by the authors. It is their opinion that the results of such analysis make it possible to generate reliable synthetic (theoretical) logs of density and interval transit time, which are useful input data in solving various geological problems related to hydrocarbon exploration, production and storage, to geothermal energy sources and many other issues.

An open-source Python package is presented, ReMo3D, which allows the generation of synthetic normal and lateral resistivity logs for 2D and 3D models. The package is built around a finite element mesh generator Gmsh and a high-performance multiphysics finite element software Netgen/NGSolve and supports distributed-memory parallel computation. The examples included in the paper show that the developed software can accurately simulate the measurement process and produce detailed synthetic normal and lateral resistivity logs. In addition, basic information about normal and lateral tools such as tool configurations, measurement principles, nomenclature and a brief history of utilization is included in the paper.

Opis:
The object of the research is a cheap, easy to build basic module with dimensions corresponding to typical railway containers. Such structures can be used to support the intermodal rail-road transport of wooden and metal logs. The basic structure and one assembled from two or more platforms with various longitudinal dimensions ensures high mobility resulting from the modular structure and the possibility of selecting transport configurations as well as the use of various forms of loading - unloading, including: typical crane operations, the use of forklifts or hook winches. The use of a platform-container will eliminate the need to repeat the operation of individual loading or unloading of each unit of the transported load e.g. a single block of wood, a bundle of bars, as a metal log, a single pipe, during each reloading operation - from the place of logging, production, storage, etc. The paper presents selected problems of the preliminary design and numerical strength tests of a single base module of the platform in a prototype version with dimensional equivalent of a 10'-foot railway container.
W pracy przedstawiono wybrane problemy wstępnego projektowania pojedynczego modułu bazowego platformy, odpowiednika wymiarowego 10’ stopowego kontenera kolejowego w wersji prototypowej. Badania wytrzymałościowe innowacyjnej konstrukcji wspomagane są metodami numerycznymi. Omówiono metodykę takich badań z wykorzystaniem MES i metod multibody MBS, zastosowane modele numeryczne oraz wybrane wyniki symulacji komputerowych odpowiadających krytycznym, najbardziej wytężonym wariantom eksploatacyjnym zastosowań platformy np. do załadunków hakowych.

Wykonano analizę zmian gęstości i porowatości w wybranych otworach Karpat Zachodnich. Wykorzystano wyniki badań laboratoryjnych z bazy PITAKA Polskiego Górnictwa Naftowego i Gazownictwa S.A. oraz otworowe profilowania gęstościowe i wyniki obliczenia gęstości programem Estymacja, a także dane dotyczące kilkudziesięciu próbek poddanych badaniom porozymetrycznym. Zaobserwowano zgodność wyników pochodzących z różnych źródeł. Zestawienie danych dotyczących rożnych formacji litostratygraficznych w grupach otworów z tego samego rejonu pozwoliło na wzajemne uzupełnienie informacji. Charakterystyka gęstościowa formacji litostratygraficznych została wykorzystana do modelowania grawimetrycznego. Porowatość i gęstość zostały włączone do utworzenia zgeneralizowanych modeli własności fizycznych wybranych formacji litostratygraficznych w Karpatach Zachodnich.
The analysis of density and porosity changes was made for selected wells from the Western Carpathians. Laboratory data from the PITAKA database of the Polish Oil and Gas Company together with density logs and density values obtained from the Estymacja calculation as well as data for a few dozen samples from mercury porosimetry measurements were used. The agreement of results from different sources was observed. Data for different lithostratigraphic formations were set together for groups of wells from the same region. This enabled information to be mutually supplemented. Density characteristics of lithostratigraphic formations was used for gravity modeling. Porosity and density were employed to create generalized models of physical properties of selected lithostratigraphic formations form the Western Carpathians.
