The author of the article presents the importance of using the principles of logistics management in practical activity of the water supply company. The main aim of the article is analyzing the principles of logistics management and evaluating their influence on the functioning of management of water supply company. The subject of research is “Sewage and Water Supply Company “WODNIK” Ltd in Jelenia Góra. To accomplish such a defined aim the following objectives have been expressed: (1) determining the characteristics of the principles of logistics management, (2) presenting the principles of logistics management in a section of concrete actions, processes and programs which support their implementation in the company S&WSC “Wodnik” Ltd, (3) defining the role of the principles of logistics management in the administration in S&WSC “Wodnik” Ltd. In the article, the thesis has been stated that using the principles of logistics management is a crucial factor, making the accomplishment of strategic, tactical and operative aims of the company easier. Data for the analysis were obtained from the company’s internal documents, observation and interviews with company management.

The concept of logistics management has been functioning in literature of the subject and economic practice for numerous years, and it has developed research methods related to other disciplines of knowledge. The realities of current global economy force the enterprises to consider the sustainable development concept as well. This concept, by assuming sustainability in implementation of economic, social and environmental objectives, exerts impact on the management strategy of contemporary enterprises. This also results from the advancing globalization and the increasing scale of production along with negative phenomena that emerge in the environment and economy, i.e. environmental degradation and depletion of resources. Hence, the sustainable development concept may be sought first of all in strategies adopted by manufacturing enterprises, the operations of which are based on technological processes, distribution and sales, as well as post-sale services and the possibility to manage the final products or reuse of the materials.

Pursuant to the statistics data of Eurostat, the economy of European Union is slowly recovering from year lasting recession. The gross domestic product volume increased in 2nd quarter of the year 2013 by 0,3%. The industrial companies in EU are nevertheless facing still increasing competitiveness as the European and global markets are developing under current business conditions. To be successful within the frame of current supply chains the companies must have well-developed logistics management systems to effectively treat with flows streaming in their inner or outer supply chains. One of the main elements of company logistics management systems is inventory management subsystem to plan, to manage and to control particular stock items. In the paper it is briefly described the methodics to design effective inventory management system whether in industrial or service company (Hart, Musil & Taraba, 2014).

Contemporary global business market environment is characterized by high level of various requirements which are imposed on industrial companies in every branch. Those needs are related to e.g. manufacturing type, product quality and quantity, customer service, logistics indicators, etc. In final consequence the companies make an effort to develop logistics management systems to effectively manage their bulky material flows and simultaneously to minimize their costs. The enterprise logistics management systems are consisting of several subsystems, one of them is production logistics subsystem to effectively plan, to manage and to control all flows of manufacturing processes. For development of such subsystem it's necessary to have drawing documentation of production layouts. Production layouts are therefore crucial to effectively manage all manufacturing operations within the frame of given production logistics subsystem. Under current market conditions the companies should have drawing documentation of their production layouts in desired detail - industrial zone layout, production hall layout, production line layout, production workshop or cell layout and production workplace layout.

Distribution logistics plays an important role in the proper functioning of the company. It is particularly important in manufacturing companies that sell their products in their showrooms. The companies of any industry are strongly affected with current globalization trend, which makes supply chain flows more and more bulky and complex. To be competitive in cost and eco-friend way under contemporary business market conditions, the companies should apply system approach of logistics management to plan, manage and control of their logistics processes. Realizacja procesów logistycznych związana jest m.in. z wykorzystywaniem elementów tzw. infrastruktury zarządzania logistycznego. W niniejszym artykule podjęto próbę opisania gałęzi infrastruktury zarządzania logistycznego, rozumianej jako system środków technicznych stacjonarnych – infrastruktura oraz mobilnych – suprastruktura, umożliwiających realizację procesów logistycznych. Opisano 4 rodzaje grup infrastruktury zarządzania logistycznego z punktu widzenia ich charakterystyki technicznej oraz sygnalizując celowość (konieczność) wyznaczania potencjalnych zagrożeń zawodowych, które mogą wystąpić podczas funkcjonowania tych grup.
Realizing logistic processes is related to, among other things, using elements of the so-called logistics management infrastructure. This article describes a branch of a logistics management infrastructure, understood as a system of technical and stationary (infrastructure) or mobile (superstructure) that makes it possible to realize logistic processes. It also describes 4 groups of logistics management infrastructure, from the point of view of their technical characteristics as well as to signal advisability (necessity) of determining potential occupational hazards that may occur throughout the activity of those groups.

Współczesne mikroprzedsiębiorstwo funkcjonujące w warunkach nasilonej konkurencji rynkowej poszukuje różnych sposobów zrealizowania przewagi oraz utrzymania się na rynku. Jednym z kierunków mogących się przyczynić do zrealizowania tego celu może być marketingowo-logistyczne zarządzanie procesami w przedsiębiorstwie. Postawy przedsiębiorcze przejawiające się w zastosowaniu nowoczesnych metod zarządzania mikroprzedsiębiorstwem są stosunkowo mało zbadane. W literaturze przedmiotu prezentuje się modele zarządzania oparte na przykładach procesów zarządzania dużymi przedsiębiorstwami, które nie uwzględniają problematyki występującej w mikroprzedsiębiorstwach. Celem artykułu jest prezentacja klasyfikacji postaw przedsiębiorczych w aspekcie zarządzania procesami marketingowo-logistycznymi w mikroprzedsiębiorstwach. W tekście przedstawiono własne wyniki badań dotyczące postaw przedsiębiorczych w zarządzaniu mikroprzedsiębiorstwem, prowadzone w latach 2012-2013 wśród 28 przedsiębiorstw na terenie województwa łódzkiego. Celem badań było określenie czynników wpływających na kreowanie postaw przedsiębiorczych w mikro-przedsiębiorstwach. Sformułowano zatem dwie hipotezy: 1. W mikroprzedsiębiorstwie można zidentyfikować czynniki wpływające na kreowanie postaw przedsiębiorczych. 2. Wśród czynników stymulujących rozwój postaw przedsiębiorczych w mikroprzedsiębiorstwie znaczącą pozycję zajmują metody zarządzania marketingowo-logistycznego. Badania miały charakter eksplanacyjny. Dobór próby był celowy i obejmował przedsiębiorstwa, które potwierdziły stosowanie instrumentów marketingowych w zarządzaniu logistycznym. Bada-nia prowadzono metodą bezpośrednich wywiadów, rozmów z ekspertami oraz analiz dokumentów i  raportów. Poczynione obserwacje dotyczą wyłącznie grupy badanych mikroprzedsiębiorstw, co stanowi istotne ograniczenie w formułowaniu bardziej ogólnych wniosków oraz opisowych analiz statystycznych.
Microenterprises today, existing in conditions of strong market competitiveness, are looking for ways to reach the competitive advantage and remain on the market. One of many ways to contrib-ute to these goals can be modern management, especially marketing and logistical management of processes in the microenterprise. The attitude of entrepreneurship manifested in the use of modern methods of microenterprises management is not so widely researched. In literature on the subject, management methods are presented for large enterprises, which do not take into consideration the problems of microenterprises. The aim of this article is to present the classification of the attitude of entrepreneurship in the aspect of management in microenterprises with the use of marketing and logistics management. Included is own research work from the years 2012-2013 in the Lodz region, connected to the thesis on regional considerations in creating the attitude of entrepreneurship in the microenterprise.

Nowadays innovations became the most important element of the country’s economic development, since they provide a qualitative increase in the efficiency of processes or end production demanded by the market. In this article, the innovation of processes, viz. the processes of logistic management of the production-economic organization is proposed. Innovations in logistics management, as a direction of logistics activity improvement provide the development of new tools (methods, criteria, indices) in methodological logistics’ groundwork, as well as improving the mechanism for the formation and functioning of micro- and macro-logistic systems. The aim of the research is to develop scientific and methodological recommendations for the application of logistics management innovations that involve designing the logistics system through the improvement of the enterprise’s organizational structure as an element of the economic macro environment. Logistic system designing approach is suggested, that anticipates an enterprise’s organizational structure formation under the process-matrix principle (unification of functional and process management approaches) and the establishment of the effective enterprise’s logistic service that plays the role of coordinator and integrator of its business-processes. Efficient organization structure formation, that provides logistics approach implementation in practical enterprises’ activity is grounded by authors. The result of the innovations in logistics management appliance is effective logistic system’s design, in which the coordinated material, informational and financial flows motion is carried out. In the result, it ensures efficient enterprise’s business-processes functioning and organic improvement of its organizational structure.

The article presents the concept of the relationship between management and logistics. It shows concepts of logistics, supply chain and supply chain as specific areas of remaining in close connection with the management. Expression of the interpenetration of logistics and management are among the concepts of logistics management, logistics alliances or integrated logistics management. All of them are used in an appropriate contribution to the success of market and inside the organization. However, the shape and extent of their use in each company is decided independently, taking into account individual circumstances.

Głównym problemem podmiotów gospodarczych jest utrzymanie ich konkurencyjności w stosunku do innych uczestników rynku. Koncepcja zarządzania logistycznego coraz częściej uważana jest za narzędzie efektywności prowadzonych działań i zasadniczą strategię podmiotu gospodarczego. Pomiar zdarzeń logistycznych może być prowadzony w wymiarze krótko- lub długookresowym. Wstępnej oceny efektywności procesów logistycznych dokonuje się już na podstawie prowadzonej w przedsiębiorstwie rachunkowości finansowo-księgowej. Nasilająca się konkurencja stawia przed przedsiębiorstwami ciągle nowe wymagania zarówno w zakresie nowych produktów, ich jakości, a również kosztów i cen. To sprawia, że zarządzanie staje się coraz bardziej utrudnione. Rośnie zapotrzebowanie na informację ekonomiczną dotyczącą zarówno zachodzących zmian w otoczeniu, jak i procesów realizowanych wewnątrz przedsiębiorstw. Znaczącą część tej informacji uzyskuje się w wyniku analizy osiąganych przez przedsiębiorstwo efektów, a także analizy posiadanych przez nie zasobów oraz ich wykorzystania. Mierniki i wskaźniki traktowane są jako zestaw narzędzi analitycznych do pomiaru efektywności procesów logistycznych. Nie ma możliwości prowadzenia działalności gospodarczej bez pomiaru jej efektywności. Analiza produktywności biznesowej ma odpowiedzieć, czy uzyskujemy z tej inicjatywy korzyści (zysk) oraz wskazać kierunki ich maksymalizowania, np. przez obniżanie kosztów. Pozytywne mierniki oceny, napędzają i mobilizują przedsiębiorstwo do jeszcze większej i wydajniejszej skali działania. Natomiast mierniki odbiegające od założonych wskaźników rozwoju mogą i powinny wpływać na zawieszenie przedsięwzięcia gospodarczego lub szukanie sposobów zwiększenia wydajności prowadzonych działań. Teoretyczne podstawy zagadnień związanych z zarządzaniem logistycznym, uwierzytelnione wynikami badań empirycznych dowodzą, że procesy logistyczne sprzyjają wzrostowi efektywności działań operacyjnych. Pytanie kierowane ze strony przedsiębiorców, menadżerów i specjalistów ds. logistyki brzmi: „jakie metody, wskaźniki należy zastosować, ażeby w najbardziej rzetelny sposób można było zbadać tą efektywność. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie sposobów pomiaru efektywności działalności logistycznej podmiotu gospodarczego.
The main problem of business entities is maintaining their competitiveness in relation to other market participants. The concept of logistics management is increasingly considered to be a tool for the efficiency of operations and the basic strategy of a business entity. The measurement of logistic events can be carried out in the short or long term. The initial assessment of the effectiveness of logistics processes is already made on the basis of financial and accounting accounting maintained in the enterprise. Increasing competition sets new requirements for enterprises in terms of new products, their quality as well as costs and prices. This makes management more and more difficult. There is a growing demand for economic information regarding both changes in the environment and processes implemented within enterprises. A significant part of this information is obtained as a result of the analysis of the effects achieved by the enterprise as well as the analysis of its resources and their use. Meters and indicators are treated as a set of analytical tools for measuring the effectiveness of logistics processes. You cannot run a business without measuring its effectiveness. The analysis of business productivity is to answer whether we obtain benefits (profit) from this initiative and indicate the directions of their maximization, e.g. by reducing costs. Positive evaluation measures drive and mobilize the enterprise to an even larger and more efficient scale of operations. On the other hand, measures that deviate from the assumed development indicators can and should affect the suspension of an economic venture or seeking ways to increase the efficiency of operations. The theoretical foundations of issues related to logistics management, authenticated by the results of empirical research prove that logistics processes are conducive to increasing the efficiency of operational activities. The question directed by entrepreneurs, managers and logistics specialists is – „What methods, indicators should be used so that this effectiveness can be tested in the most reliable way? The purpose of the article is to present ways of measuring the effectiveness of the logistic activity of an economic entity.

Logistics Management as orientation in conducting businesses need methods and tools that can be used. Creating economic and logistic flows, the owners of dining options depends on maintaining the highest efficiency, effectiveness with the least capital intensity. The paper consists of two parts. The first part covers aspects of unconventional approaches to managing it creates a chance for the development of the organization and presents modern methods and concepts of logistics management in the catering industry, used in the catering industry.

In the second part of the publication on modern methods of logistics management in the hospitality demonstrated that the implementation of modern logistics management system contributes to building a strong position of the company on the market. Measurable advantage for companies operating in the catering industry is a group of regular customers, specifying the items enterprise.

Wskazano reguły tworzenia systemów komunikacji w zarządzaniu logistycznym pod kątem sprawności funkcjonowania obiektu kierującego. Scharakteryzowano kompetencje obiektu kierującego.
Despite its long-term tradition in both practical and theoretical applications, logistics still has to face some difficulties in its basic notions. A source of misunderstandings in this context is undoubtedly connected with high usefulness of logistics that frequently dominates its theoretical aspects. The article aims at identifying requirements set for managing entities in logistics management.

Logistics management is implemented in activities such as planning, organisation, implementation, control and assistance in all functional logistics areas. The Military Doctrine of the Slovak Republic establishes three levels of war - strategic, operational and tactical, which are applied in war and non-military operations. However, in today‘s international environment, it is not possible to determine with certainty at what level the organisational structure operates. All levels are interconnected. The Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of the Slovak Armed Forces focus on the strategic logistics management. The logistics office resolves operational and some strategic logistics issues. Logistics departments of ground and air forces deal with operational logistics management, influencing the tasks imposed on the commander in the operational plan for the use of Slovak armed forces, including the creation of procedures, doctrines and training documents. At a tactical level, the logistics of departments and units are organically integrated into the structures of their headquarters with their subordinate logistics units. The structure of logistics management in the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic (AF SR) and the role of its individual elements at the strategic, operational and tactical level is examined in this paper. It concludes by showing possible ways of logistics management and goals for the future.

Opis:

The goal of research is to perform a cluster analisys of the Bulgarian meat industry from the point of view of the logistics development. In order to study the state and development of the meat industry logistics in Bulgarian meat processing organizations, a wide range of statistical and analytical methods are used (comparison, group average, graphical method, cluster analysis and others). The date processing in done by a computer program for statistical date processing - SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences). The object of the industry is the meat processing companies in Bulgariq. According to the MFA Agro statictics for November 2010, the meat processing industry includes 65 factories for cutting red meat, 30 white meat slaughterhouses, 283 meat processing factories and the minced meat factories - meat preparations and mechanically separated meat, making a total of 378 companies in the industry. The result of the study show that logistics plays a vital role for the meat processing organizations, because of the growing demand for quality, price and speed of delivery of products. Successful management of logistics allows time saving through faster movement of information, details and products from one process to another.

The article is a contribution to taking a stand in the discussion about the place of intelligent technological solutions in logistics management and supply chain management. On the basis of the theory, the aim of the article was determined to indicate changes in the management centre on the strategic level in the supply chain management. Areas of changes in logistics management due to the use of intelligent technologies were indicated. The role of intelligent logistic applications in managing the contemporary supply chain as a result of changing the classical approach to management towards changes in competences of managers at the strategic level in the supply chain has been defined. The assumptions determining the supremacy of managing the contemporary supply chain over the classical approach to logistics management in the light of intelligent logistics were also established.
Artykuł jest przyczynkiem do zajęcia stanowiska w dyskusji o miejscu inteligentnych rozwiązań technologicznych w zarządzaniu logistycznym i zarządzaniu łańcuchem dostaw. Na kanwie teorii wyznaczono cel artykułu polegający na wskazaniu zmian ośrodka zarządzania na strategiczny poziom w zarządzaniu łańcuchem dostaw. Wskazano obszary zmian w zarządzaniu logistycznym na skutek zastosowań inteligentnych technologii, a także określono rolę zastosowań inteligentnej logistyki w zarządzaniu współczesnym łańcuchem dostaw jako efekt zmiany klasycznego podejścia do zarządzania na zmiany kompetencyjne menedżerów szczebla strategicznego w łańcuchu dostaw. Ustalono także założenia określające nadrzędność zarządzania współczesnym łańcuchem dostaw nad klasycznym ujęciem zarządzania logistycznego w świetle inteligentnej logistyki.

Podstawowe działania ukierunkowane na zmniejszenie ilości odpadów składowanych to w szczególności: wstępna obróbka odpadów zbieranych selektywnie, gospodarcze wykorzystanie odpadów, odzysk i recykling, unieszkodliwianie (biologiczne, chemiczne, mechaniczne, termiczne, deponowanie pozostałości). Skuteczność realizacji tych działań zależy od istnienia i możliwości stosowania odpowiednich narzędzi prawnych, administracyjnych, ekonomicznych, organizacyjnych oraz systemów kontroli i monitoringu. Realizacja działań powinna zapewnić osiągnięcie podstawowych celów zarządzania logistycznego, tj.: dostarczenie odpowiednich odpadów ze „źródła odpadu”, w odpowiedniej ilości, w odpowiednim czasie, w odpowiednie miejsce (obiekty gospodarki odpadami, stacje przeładunkowe), odpowiedniemu klientowi (użytkownik odpadów lub wyrobów z odpadów), zachowując odpowiednią jakość odpadów lub wyrobów z odpadów, przy odpowiednim koszcie, pod warunkiem zachowania wszystkich wymogów dotyczących ochrony i kształtowania środowiska oraz planowania przestrzennego, przy uwzględnieniu potrzeb regionu i kraju (wykorzystanie surowcowe).
Key actions aimed to reduce the amount of waste which is landfilled are in particular: pre-treatment of waste collected selectively, the economic use of waste, recovery and recycling, disposal (biological, chemical, mechanical, thermal, depositing residue). The efficiency of implementation of these actions depends on the existence and possible application of the relevant tools: legal, administrative, economic, organizational, and systems of control and monitoring. Implementation of the measures should ensure the achievement of fundamental objectives of logistics management, namely: to provide adequate waste from the “source of waste”, in sufficient quantity, at the right time, to the appropriate place (waste facilities, transfer station), to the appropriate client (user of the waste or waste products), maintaining the quality of the waste or waste products, with the right cost – provided that all requirements for the protection and development of environment and spatial planning, taking into account the needs of the region and country (use of raw materials).

Logistics management of product categories becomes a challenge for the managers of 21st century logistics. The changes in the way the customers perceive products, which involves shifting the focus from individual products to category linked groups of products, require implementation of changes in logistics systems of distribution undertakings as well. These activities should be based on explicitly indicated category structures showing the existence of statistical connections between the products. This article raises the issue of stages of creating category structures and areas in which they influence the movement of goods and information in logistics processes of distribution undertakings.

The article attempts to define and identify the basic dimensions of the contemporary logistics, perceived as the properties constituting and determining its nature and structure, in the context of development and integration in the scale of both the enterprise and the market. In particular, the following key consecutive dimensions of logistics were presented and identified: managerial, systemic, process, market, performance and organizational. These dimensions together make up the nature and qualities of logistics as an integrated concept. In the identification process, there was an attempt to identify significant new challenges regarding the contemporary practice of enterprises as well as real and potential benefits for customers and enterprises, related to the implementation of these orientations and dimensions of logistics.

Security is not a stable state, moreover it should not be taken for granted neither as something permanent. In everyday life there appear continuous threats, both origining either from the forces of nature or the unintended and intended effects of human activity. In order to ensure the desired level of safety, the security system is created in which the key component is logistics. The integration of logistics’ entities and strategic dimension of logistics (appreciation of the strategic function of logistics) cause the increase of the importance of integrated logistics systems and of security in logistics flows. Logistics activities aimed at optimization of the structures and processes within the network and logistics chains are playing an increasingly greater role from the perspective of safety management system.
Bezpieczeństwo nie jest stanem stabilnym, ponadto nie należy przyjmować go za pewnik ani jako coś trwałego. W życiu codziennym pojawiają się ciągłe zagrożenia, zarówno wynikające z sił natury, jak i jednostkowych i zamierzonych skutków działalności człowieka. W celu zapewnienia pożądanego poziomu bezpieczeństwa tworzony jest system bezpieczeństwa, w którym kluczowym elementem jest logistyka. Integracja podmiotów logistycznych i strategiczny wymiar logistyki (uznanie strategicznej funkcji logistyki) powoduje wzrost znaczenia zintegrowanego systemu logistycznego i bezpieczeństwa w przepływach logistycznych. Działania logistyczne mające na celu optymalizację struktur i procesów w sieci i łańcuchach logistycznych odgrywają coraz większą rolę z punktu widzenia systemu zarządzania bezpieczeństwem.

Literatura naukowa nie udostępnia wielu publikacji skupionych wokół koncepcji zarządzania przedsiębiorstwami handlowymi z sektora mikro, małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw, w tym zarządzania logistycznego15. Niewielka ilość treści w opisywanym kontekście tematycznym może obniżać zdolność konkurowania organizacji, zatem dążąc do zwiększenia atrakcyjności mikro przedsiębiorstw handlowych należy, analizować procesy w nich zachodzące, oceniać ich funkcjonowanie oraz wspierać rozwój. W niniejszym artykule koncepcja oceny zarządzania logistycznego w mikro przedsiębiorstwie handlowym składa się z dwóch etapów: mapowania procesu, a następnie oceny zarządzania logistycznego w układzie problemów decyzyjnych charakterystycznych dla mikro przedsiębiorstw handlowych. Mapowanie procesu jako jedna z metod analizy wszystkich działań i powiązań występujących w mikro przedsiębiorstwie handlowym jest początkiem rozwoju utożsamianym z usprawnianiem oraz wdrażaniem nowych rozwiązań optymalizujących. Przedstawione w tabeli zależności między funkcjami a problemami decyzyjnymi w handlu, uzupełnione wywiadem semi‐ustrukturalizowanym pomogły ustalić elementy problematyczne w badanym procesie. Na tej podstawie można dokonać oceny zarządzania logistycznego, a nawet zaproponować rozwiązania wspierające cały proces.
The scientific literature only makes available a few publications focused on micro, small, and medium‐sized trading enterprises management, including logistics management. The scarcity of content in the described thematic context may reduce the organization’s competitive ability; therefore, aiming to increase the competitiveness of micro‐trading enterprises, it is necessary to analyze the processes in them, evaluate their functioning and support their development. In this article, the concept of evaluating logistics management in a micro‐trading enterprise consists of two stages: process mapping and evaluating logistics management in the system of decision‐making problems specific to micro‐ trading enterprises. Process mapping, as one of the methods to analyze all the activities and relationships occurring in a micro‐trading enterprise, is the beginning of a development identified with improvement and the implementation of new optimization solutions. Relationships between trade functions and trade decision‐making problems, complemented by a semistructured interview, help to identify problematic elements in the process. On this basis, logistics management can be evaluated, and similar solutions can be proposed to suport the entire process. The proposed concept for evaluating logistics management in a micro‐trading company includes: process analysis, semi‐structured interview, and analysis of answers obtained during the interview with the respondent.

The emerging of e-commerce creates the logistics industry to experience a new never before seen high. Logistics is a great opportunity for service innovations and business growth in this time and age. This objective of the study is to find out logistics service innovation in various dimensions such as customer satisfaction, service guarantee, service blueprint, pay by instalment, product testing trial and the offering of additional services. This research applied a quantitative method by using questionnaires focusing on 44 logistics service entrepreneurs. The results of this study reveal that logistics has become a service industry with a service mind and quality, and it provides a service blueprint, service guarantee and customer satisfaction guarantee. Those who do not adjust to the demands of the market and focus on customer satisfaction are left behind and miss out the business growth opportunity. The demand for new domestic logistic service like Grab and company like Kerry carry more than their market share focusing on service warranties and guaranties something new in industry, and country which usually passes on the blame whenever it can. But in this case, with logistics, the innovative companies take responsibility.
Pojawienie się e-commerce powoduje, że branża logistyczna może doświadczyć nowej, nigdy wcześniej niespotykanej wysoko. Logistyka jest doskonałą okazją do innowacji usługowych i rozwoju biznesu w obecnych czasach. Celem tego badania jest znalezienie innowacji w zakresie usług logistycznych w różnych wymiarach, takich jak zadowolenie klienta, gwarancja usług, plan usługi, płatność ratalna, testowanie produktu i oferowanie dodatkowych usług. W badaniu zastosowano metodę ilościową, wykorzystując kwestionariusze skierowane do 44 przedsiębiorców usług logistycznych. Wyniki tego badania pokazują, że logistyka stała się branżą usługową z myślą o jakości usług i zapewnia plan usług, gwarancję usług i gwarancję satysfakcji klienta. Ci, którzy nie dostosowują się do wymagań rynku i koncentrują się na zadowoleniu klientów, zostają w tyle i tracą szansę rozwoju firmy. Zapotrzebowanie na nowe krajowe usługi logistyczne, takie jak Grab i firmy takie jak Kerry, przewyższają ich udział w rynku, koncentrując się na gwarancjach usług i gwarantując coś nowego w branży oraz kraju, który zwykle ponosi winę, gdy tylko jest to możliwe. For years, the logistics and supply chain industries have been optimized to reduce cost, minimize the carried inventories and increase the efficiency of assets utilization. Besides that, the impact of industrial revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) has queried for more new skills for a more demanding job scope. In particular, many traditional operation methods have been gradually replaced by automation-based operation. Hence the requirement for upskilling and reskilling became appealing. The present paper discusses the role of upskilling and reskilling during IR 4.0, a method to implement upskilling and reskilling training, the role of the Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF), as well as the challenges faced during the implementation of reskilling and upskilling in the logistics industries. Methods: Inductive reasoning is employed in the paper, which is backed up by a study of related scholarly journal papers to uncover the Malaysian upskilling and reskilling requirement in the logistics industry during IR 4.0from both intrinsic and extrinsic lenses. Results: The paper claims that changing the workplace and workforce, increase employees competitiveness and costeffectiveness in long term is the main importance of upskilling and reskilling. Nevertheless, firms cannot disregard the needs for technical and human skills as well as the HRDF initiatives. These include the creation of a digital culture with the right training and development to uphold the local experts. Conclusions: Despite the paper's qualitative approach, the findings will provide a clearer understanding of the upskilling and reskilling requirements for IR 4.0, as well as a foundation for future study. This paper proposes an alternative strategy to diversify the economy and enter IR 4.0 for a developing country that is dependent on a non-renewable source.

This article aims to show the importance of eco-logistics for the process of waste management in urban areas. Urban development and the dynamic growth of consumption contribute to increased waste generation including packing waste and solid waste. This makes it necessary to improve the process of their transportation and utilization. This task is perfomed by means of eco-logistics system within the city management process. In this article the author also presented the main areas of eco-logistics support in the waste management process.

The convergence of logistics megatrends, including transformations in logistics models, the growing influence of modern, innovative and intelligent technologies, the use of ICT technology and global competition (e-trade and e-purchasing development, mobile services expansion) have led to a new concept known as the “Intelligent Enterprise”. This concept is a relatively young field in modern business management. As physical assets are given a digital voice, the Intelligent Enterprise allows businesses to run operations more efficiently and make better decisions with improved real-time visibility. Achieving greater enterprise asset intelligence offers businesses a sense of what is happening in their operations, provides them with a way to quickly analyse the information and gives them a platform to act on it to reach higher levels of growth, productivity and service. The aim of the paper is to describe of the concept of an Intelligent Enterprise and provide the specification of its characteristics. The objective is to be achieved through analysing the author's surveys results carried out in 2018. The studies were conducted on a group of 80 people – managers in manufacturing companies responsible for supply chains management.

This article describes the notion of “customer activity” in logistics services as an interaction with providers. We reviewed concepts of customer activity in services offered by logistics service providers (LSPs) in the food sector. We then analysed customer activity in transport, storage and management of services. We used a direct diagnostic survey for comparative analysis of groups of customers. The roles of LSPs in the supply chain and within the framework of cooperation in the business-to-business market are presented. Basic customer activities were examined by studying the supply chain, within which LSPs adapted their processes to the activities of their customers. The research results present the degree of customer activity in supply chains.Theoretical background: Customer activity in logistics services is mainly understood as part of interaction with providers. This study goes beyond this view by focusing on the independent activity of the customer in solutions related to transport, storage and the management of logistics services.Purpose of the article: The purpose of the article was to review concepts of customer activity in services offered by LSPs in food-sector supply chains; customer activity was characterised and applied in exploratory research.Research methods: A literature review, comparison of groups of customers, and a direct diagnostic survey method were all used.Main findings: The perspective of customer activity predominating among customers allows LSPs to pursue different activities on behalf of different groups of customers. This article contributes to research on logistics services while focusing on the concept of customer activity.

Background: Capital budgeting decisions in the logistics industry often combine three distinct characteristics. Firstly, they relate to capital assets- such as vehicles or equipment- being periodically replaced with different useful lives and efficiency features, and secondly, their performance is subject to particular operating and market risks. Lastly, externalities, such as regulatory interventions and technological evolution, also contribute to innovation- and thus also uncertainty- becoming a significant factor in logistics. Accordingly, this paper develops a valuation model which takes these characteristics into account and facilitates a robust decision-making process. Methods: In order to properly capture the specifics of the problem, the proposed model is based on an application of the Life Cycle Cost budgeting method benchmarked to an appropriate functional unit, combined with the Monte Carlo simulation and sensitivity analyses of relevant risk factors. Results: A realistic case study was developed, providing the necessary input parameters for the method's application. It was thus demonstrated that it provides useful and coherent resources for the decision-making process, including the tools needed to test various assumptions and determine project risks. Conclusions: The presented model and its solution provide results which are superior compared to conventional capital budgeting methods in terms of properly capturing the essential value-determining factors for a common type of problem encountered in logistics. They are also adequately comprehensive to be applied by practitioners in a real-life managerial setting.
Wstęp: Decyzje kapitałowe budżetowe w logistyce często wyróżniają się trzema charakterystycznymi cechami. Są one powiązane z aktywami kapitałowymi, takimi ją pojazdy lub sprzęt, które są okresowo zastępowane, z różnymi okresami życia oraz z faktem, że ich działanie podlega operacyjnemu i rynkowemu ryzyku. Warunki zewnętrzne, takie jak uwarunkowania prawne, rozwój technologii, innowacyjność (wszystko wpływające na niepewność działania) są również istotnym czynnikiem wpływającym na postępowanie w obrębie logistyki. W pracy jest zaprezentowany opracowany model ewaluacji, biorący pod uwagę powyżej wymienione charakterystyki oraz ułatwiający rozbudowany proces podejmowania decyzji. Metody: W celu prawidłowego ujęcia specyfikacji problemu, proponowany model jest oparty na aplikacji metody budżetowania Life Cycle Cost w odniesieniu do odpowiedniej jednostki funkcjonalnej, w połączeniu z symulacją Monte Carlo and analizą wrażliwości istotnych czynników ryzyka. Wyniki: Zostało opracowane realistyczne studium przypadku, dostarczające niezbędnych danych wejściowych dla proponowanej metody analizy. Dostarczyło to przydatne spójne dane wejściowe dla procesu podejmowania decyzji, włączając w to narzędzia potrzebne do testowania różnych założeń oraz oceny podejmowanego ryzyka. Wnioski: Prezentowany model i jego rozwiązane dostarcza wyników porównywanych z konwencjonalnymi metodami budżetowania kapitałowego pod względem prawidłowego ujmowania czynników wartościowych dla powszechnie występujących problemów w logistyce. Można go stosować w szeroko pojętej praktyce zarządzania.

This article presents basic issues related to information security in logistics processes. Firstly, the author presents basic issues related to information security in any organization. Moreover, the author shows the areas of information security management in logistic systems. Logistics processes require IT support to process the data necessary to carry out specific tasks. Information security is now a very important area of organizational man-agement. It can be assumed that also the logistics processes will require continuous improvement in the area of information security.

Opis:

To increase the efficiency of transport nodes functioning taking into account the logistics management principles it is necessary to optimize the structure and capacity of transport nodes' production resources, and to develop such a method for calculating of joint schedules for vehicles and freight hubs of the transport node, which takes into account stochastic nature of the parameters of material and informational flows. For solving the problems of optimal management of transport nodes functioning processes it is proposed to use the specific efficiency indicator, which is determined as a ratio of total costs of clients servicing in transport node to the costs of production resources used while servicing. According to the used approach for formalization of the transport node internal processes, development of the simulation model was implemented on the base of object-oriented programming principles. TransportNode.dll class library has been used as basic tool for simulations. The model implemented on the base of the library allows to take into account stochastic nature of demand and probabilistic nature of technological processes in transport nodes. Some results of numeric simulations for the loading area “Amur-Gavan” of Dnipropetrovsk River Port have been described in the paper.

Examples show the integration of supply and production logistics in the construction industry, requiring the Just in Time approach. The cases are illustrated with photographs.

The waste management system in health care is a tool that allows to conduct reasonable steps to reduce their amount, collection, storage and transport, and provide a high level of utilization or disposal. Logistics solutions in waste management are intended to make full use of the infrastructure and technical resources, optimize costs, ensure the safety and health at work and meet legal requirements. The article discusses the elements of the logistics system of waste management in hospital, necessary to ensure the smooth flow of waste from its origin to landfilling. The following criteria were characterized: technical and technological, ecological and economic that can be used in the analysis and evaluation of solutions in waste management in the hospital. Finally, solutions to improve waste management system in the hospital on the example of the real object have been presented.

The safety of a logistics system is understood as ensuring (to a certain level) the implementation of operational logistics processes in any entity, under specific conditions, by using favourable circumstances, taking business challenges, reducing risk, uncertainty and preventing all kinds of threats to logistics activities. The relevant determinant of the management of logistics system safety is appropriate infrastructure which enables the implementation of logistic processes and guarantees their effectiveness and efficiency. The infrastructure determines logistics performance measured by the logistics performance index (LPI). The aim of the article is to identify the logistics system safety measures in a macro approach and to determine the impact of logistic efficiency on the management of logistics system safety.
