В статье рассматриваются педагогический, культуроведческий, лингвистический и библиологический подходы к анализу учебников русского языка для иностранцев. Приводятся примеры научных исследований учебников XVIII века, выполненных с позиций указанных подходов. Делается вывод о необходимости комплексного подхода к изучению учебников.
The article discusses pedagogical, cultural studies, linguistic and bibiological approaches to the analysis of Russian textbooks. Examples of scientific studies of textbooks of the XVIII century, made from the standpoint of these approaches, are given. The conclusion is made about the need for an integrated approach to the study of textbooks.
Artykuł podejmuje próbę analizy podręczników języka rosyjskiego dla cudzoziemców aspekcie pedagogicznym, kulturoznawczym, lingwistycznym oraz bibliologicznym. Przytaczane są przykłady podręczników XVIII wieku; wyprowadzony jest wniosek o konieczności kompleksowego podejścia do badań nad podręcznikami.

In recent decades, in the post-Soviet area, an interest of linguists in religious subjects has been increasing. Linguists undertake a large-scale research on the religious image of the world. Studying the Bible gains in importance, and the attention of many researchers focuses on the multi-facited description of phraseological units of the biblical origin. In contemporary Russian linguistic analyzes, there are two approaches to the study of phraseological expressions of biblical provenance: in accordance with the Russian or western research traditions. Representatives of both fields of study refer in their works to the achievements of Russian or foreign scientists. The resulting studies are typologically diversified. Among them you can find literary, philosophical and linguistic works, articles of historical and cultural character, descriptive and comparative works (created on the basis of material from several languages), experimental dictionary publications and other types of scientific texts. The present article is a presentation of the most important, in my opinion, works on the religious image of the world.

У науковій розвідці актуалізується принцип антропоцентризму та націєцентризму у зв’язку з викладом теоретичних засад української лінгвоісторіографії, що базується на національній традиції і нових підходах до принципів опису історії мовознавства. Зазначене важливо для переосмислення української лінгвофілософії і філософії науки загалом. У сучасній українській лінгвістиці актуалізовані традиційні жанри репрезентації історіографії (покажчик, біобібліографія, хрестоматія, монографічні видання, наукові статті і под.), присвячені питанням історії розвитку української лінгвістики загалом, наукових осередків і шкіл зокрема, опису досягнень в окремих галузях українського мовознавства, напрацювань окремих учених та ін.) і нові гібридні жанри (метабібліографічні посібники, бібліографія окремих часописів, хрестоматії за окремими науковими напрямами, словники персоналій та ін.). У сучасному науковому просторі відбувається становлення й розвиток критично-шанувального дискурсу, лінгвістики персоналій.
The paper discusses the principle of anthropocentrism and nation-centrism in relation to the presentation of the theoretical foundations of Ukrainian linguistic historiography, based on national traditions and new approaches to the principles of describing the history of linguistics. It is significant for reconsidering Ukrainian linguistic philosophy and philosophy of science in general. In modern Ukrainian linguistics, traditional genres of historiography are updated (index, biobibliography, textbook, monographs, scientific articles, etc.) on the history of Ukrainian linguistics in general, research centers and schools in particular, descriptions of achievements in certain fields of the Ukrainian linguistic studies, etc.) and new hybrid genres (metabibliographic manuals, bibliography of individual journals, textbooks in some scientific fields, dictionaries of personalities, etc.). In the modern scientific space the formation and development of critical-respecting discourse as well as linguistics of personalities can be observed.

Im Beitrag steht die Konstituierung von Emotionen als kommunikativen Praktiken in medialen Diskursen im Fokus des Interesses. Es wird dabei auf ausgewählte Aspekte diskurslinguistischer Emotionsforschung Bezug genommen. Vor dem Hintergrund der Rolle der Medien in der Kodierung von Emotionen wird der Frage der Emotionalisierung von diskursiven Ereignissen nachgegangen. Emotionen werden als diskursive Praktiken auf der intratextuellen und der transtextuellen Ebene der Diskursanalyse untersucht. Am Beispiel der „Nord Stream”- Debatte wird gezeigt, wie Prozesse der Kodierung und der Generierung von Emotionen in der jeweiligen Dimension erfasst und analysiert werden können.
In this paper, the scientific interest will focus on the encoding of emotions as communicative practices in media discourses. Reference will be made to selected aspects of discourse-linguistic emotion research. Furthermore, the question of the emotionalization of discursive events will be investigated on the background of the role of the media fulfilled in the encoding emotions. Emotions as discursive practices are explored on the intratextual and transtextual levels of discourse analysis. Using the „Nord Stream” debate as an example, it will be shown how processes of encoding and generating emotions can be captured and analysed in the respective dimension.

Przedmiotem artykułu są nietypowe problemy badawcze, na które od przełomu wieków XX i XXI natrafiają współcześni badacze języka mówionego wsi. W opisie przemian językowych społeczności wiejskich muszą oni bowiem uwzględniać zarówno przeobrażenia dokonujące się w gwarach, jak i w języku ogólnopolskim, ponieważ przedmiotem ich analiz staje się substandard wiejski, dodatkowo nieustannie modyfikowany przez polszczyznę medialną i wzorce angloamerykańskie. Nietypowe problemy badawcze pokazuję na przykładzie zanikających „formantów rodzinnych”, czyli przyrostków służących w gwarach do tworzenia nazw żon, synów i córek, zebranych we wsiach poddukielskich w Beskidzie Niskim. Materiał obejmujący cały wiek XX i początek wieku XXI zawiera też przykłady wskazujące na zjawisko odfleksyjniania imion i nazwisk w substandardzie wiejskim w strukturach składniowych typu: imię + od + gen. sg. nazwiska // imienia // przezwiska ojca lub matki.
The subject of the article includes non-typical research issues faced by contemporary researchers of the language spoken in the village since the late 20th and the early 21st century. In the description of the linguistic changes of the village communities, the researchers need to take into account the changes taking place both in dialects and in the general Polish language. This is because the subject of their analyses includes the rural sub-standard which is also constantly modified by the media Polish and the English-language standards. I have shown non-typical research problems based on the examples of disappearing “family formants”, i. e. suffixes which, in local dialects, are used to create the names of wives, sons and daughters. These formants have been collected in villages near Dukla in the Low Beskids. The material, which encompasses the entire 20th century and the early 21st century, also contains some examples showing the phenomenon of removing the inflection of first names and surnames in the rural sub-standard in the syntactic structures like first name + od + gen. sg. surname // first name // nickname of father or mother.

The main aim of this paper is to present the various approaches to politeness research which have been documented by researchers from all over the word in last fifty years. In the first part of the article the author compares the most well-known and influential theories of politeness. Then the critique of these approaches is presented in details. In the next step the author examines new theories that arise after the discussion. These approaches are called postmodern and discursive. Part three of the paper focus on the concepts that presents different idea than postmodern or discursive paradigm. In the last part the author gives examples of the newest approaches to the research that studied linguistic politeness and also presents the impact these may have on Polish language glottodidactics.
Głównym celem artykułu jest przedstawienie ewolucji teorii grzeczności językowej na przestrzeni ostatnich pięćdziesięciu lat. W pierwszej części zestawiono ze sobą najważniejsze założenia trzech klasycznych teorii grzeczności językowej. W kolejnym kroku dokładnie opisano krytykę tych pierwszych podejść oraz zaprezentowano teorie, które powstały na gruncie tej dyskusji. Nazwano je postmodernistycznymi i dyskursywnymi. Cześć trzecia koncentruje się na przywołaniu nazwisk badaczy, którzy wychodzą poza paradygmat postmodernistyczny i dyskursywny. W czwartej części przywołano najnowsze podejścia do badań nad grzecznością językową i przedstawiono, jaki wpływ mają one na badania w obszarze glottodydaktyki polonistycznej.

The article refers to the hypotheses concerning the evolution of language presented in an article by Magdalena Danielewiczowa and entitled What is language needed for? What is necessary in language? The hypotheses proposed by Danielewiczowa have far-reaching methodological consequences for cultural studies, especially those that strike a balance between general linguistics, linguistic semantics, anthropological linguistics, and philosophy of language. The organisation of research on cultural phenomena requires methodological planning enabling the minimum conditions of modern research methods to be met. These conditions are: (1) the definition of cognitive goals; (2) the determination of methods for the identification of variables (methodology); (3) research hypotheses formulated in affirmative (not interrogative or negative) sentences; (4) the existence of a relationship between the logical or analytical implications of variables and hypotheses; (5) the negation of hypotheses (counter-argumentation); (6) the substantiation of hypotheses. In this article I develop Danielewiczowa’s remarks on ways of using the term evolution, while also indicating the consequences of disregarding the conditions of correct reasoning within the framework of the research programme called anthropology of the word.

The problem of method (methods) in theology is connected to the understanding of theology as a science as well as to the understanding of its identity. In theology understood as ascience there is no single scientific method, because there are many theological disciplines and each of them uses its own methods. Therefore, we speak in fact of the pluralism of the theological methods. In this paper the Author limited the analysis of the methodological issues of theological studies to showing the basic methodological elements: first, to those which are common to all theological disciplines and second, he presented one of the most important hermeneutic methods, i.e. the linguistic one, which is a method of analysing texts, used mainly in biblical, liturgical and patristic sciences. In the last part of the paper he refers to some of the newest works concerning the methods used in different theological disciplines.
Problem metody (metod) w teologii wiąże się zrozumieniem teologii jako nauki, a także z rozumieniem jej tożsamości. W teologii jako nauce nie istnieje jedna metoda naukowa, bo jest wiele dyscyplin teologicznych i każda posługuje się własnymi metodami – stąd też mówimy o pluralizmie metod teologicznych. W omawianiu problematyki metodologicznej nauk teologicznych autor ograniczył się jedynie do ukazania podstawowych elementów metodologicznych, najpierw wspólnych wszystkim dyscyplinom teologicznym, a następnie szczegółowiej omówił jedną z podstawowych metod hermeneutycznych, to jest lingwistyczną, czyli metodę analizy tekstów stosowaną głównie w naukach biblijnych, liturgicznych i patrystycznych. W ostatniej części natomiast wskazał najnowsze opracowania dotyczące metod stosowanych w poszczególnych dyscyplinach teologicznych.

In the Middle-Polish period numerous texts on science and technology were written. Linguists used to pay little attention to those writings – researchers analysed the terminology and noted the morphological manifestations of the scholarly style as well as the manifestations of consistency of historical scientific texts. The issues such as the emergence of the principles of drafting ancillary texts (footnotes, references, bibliography lists); the early development of the scientific press publications (popular-scientific press) in the Polish language and the emergence of new genres of text assisting the scientific aspects of life were of little interest to linguists. Moreover, a large body of historical scientific and technical texts remained entirely unknown to a vast number of readers as the overwhelming majority of those publications have never been republished. In recent years, thanks to–among others–quickly progressing digitisation, it is increasingly easier to access the old scientific and technical texts. Consequently, more and more attention is paid to them by researchers who emphasize that the development of the Polish language was influenced not only by the transformations of the artistic language but also by other stylistic varieties of Polish, including the scholarly style.

The main purpose of the paper is both to present and to highlight the wide range of artificial intelligence appliance in linguistic research. I intend to define the so called ‘linguistic intelligence’ in the sense of machine learning, based mainly on artificial neural networks. Linguistic intelligent solutions seem to be not only up-to-date but also very promising in the area of developing and improving any intelligent linguistic tools, such as intelligent tutoring systems that are able to interact with human being, or the voice (speech) recognition systems that are able to receive, interpret (understand) and sometimes even carry out spoken commands. Finally, I intend to present the area of so called ‘terminotics’. The term refers to the meeting point of three interrelated disciplines: terminology, computational linguistics and linguistic engineering. This branch is also assisted by computer tools and new technologies based on artificial intelligence and machine learning. These (tools) are mainly designed for term extraction and corpora development but lately there are also some new possibilities to use these tools to increase the quality of terminology infrastructure as well.

Introduction: The paper presents the organization of Introduction section in medical research papers in English in terms of its rhetorical structure and linguistic features. Material and Methods: This structure is analyzed in two groups of Introductions (corpora) written by (1) native speakers of English and (2) non-native speakers of English, that is, Polish authors, with the use of the reference model CARS (Create a Research Space) proposed by Swales (2004). The analysis of linguistic features included grammatical and lexical elements typical of Introduction. Results: The study shows that Introduction section in research papers written by Polish authors differs to varying degrees from the reference model, whereas in Anglo-American papers its structure corresponds to the current standards, required by publishers of prestigious scientifi c journals. Conclusion: The conventional features of Introduction used in Anglo-American academic culture and the requirements of the publishers of science journals oblige the authors to write well-structured and linguistically correct research papers. The presented model can be helpful in writing research papers in English.
Wprowadzenie: niniejsza praca przedstawia strukturę Wstępu w medycznych artykułach naukowych w języku angielskim pod kątem ich organizacji retorycznej i cech lingwistycznych. Materiał i metody: struktura tekstów poddana została analizie w dwóch grupach (korpusach) artykułów: napisanych przez (1) native speakerów języka angielskiego i (2) non-native speakerów, tj. autorów polskich, z zastosowaniem modelu odniesienia CARS (Create a Research Space) proponowanego przez Swalsa (2004). Analiza cech lingwistycznych objęła typowe dla Wstępu elementy gramatyczne i leksykalne. Wyniki: zastosowanie standardowego modelu odniesienia pokazało, iż Wstęp w artykułach napisanych przez polskich autorów odbiega w znacznym stopniu od wzoru podanego we wspomnianym modelu, natomiast w artykułach autorów angloamerykańskich ma on strukturę retoryczną, odpowiadającą obowiązującym standardom, wymaganą przez wydawców prestiżowych pism naukowych. Wnioski: dokonana analiza pozwala stwierdzić, iż skonwencjonalizowane cechy Wstępu obowiązujące w angloamerykańskiej kulturze akademickiej oraz wymogi wydawców czasopism naukowych zmuszają autorów do pisania dobrze przygotowanych pod względem retorycznym i poprawnych językowo artykułów. Przedstawiony model CARS może być bardzo przydatny w pisaniu artykułów naukowych w języku angielskim.

The aim of the present article is to demonstrate, using specific examples, the reality of linguistic communication in the context of one of the problems of contemporary German word formation, namely linguistic hybrids, in a small German town of Greifswald in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The conclusions made on the basis of empirical research concern a specific kind of communication, namely communication between an entrepreneur or offerer and a potential client who receives the communicated content. The empirical material which was obtained via the empirical research method called “Linguistic Landscape” attests to the popularity of word forming hybrids in the German language, i.e. constructions consisting of both native and foreign components. Many word forming hybrids are short-term phenomena in a linguistic system and tend to be dropped quickly. Nevertheless, the number and variety of native-foreign combinations indicate a general trend in the contemporary German language, which not only readily borrows foreign lexemes or word forming morphemes – predominantly from the English language – but also tends to combine them with native words. Hence, word forming hybrids constitute a problem which merits attention and thorough linguistic analysis.

The article draws closer the notion of a commercial letter as a means o f specialist communication, while the starting point for consideration is a proposal o f presenting a degree of expertness of various texts on a scale beginning from the most common, as for instance a conversation (cf. Boniecka 2009:151), through the whole spectre o f genres of greater and greater degree o f professional competence up to for example strictly expert discussion of two engineers of the building industry on the subject o f specificity of steel constructions. The concept of the scale (cf. Kalverkamper 1990) allows maintaining fluency in attributing to texts greater and greater degree o f professional competence, thus it does not force fixed divisions between particular genres because of the level of their expertness. While performing the very charactei i sties of the commercial letters, a pragmatic dimension comes to the fore, finding more and more supporters in the contemporary linguistics o f the text, particularly taking into consideration its situational and functional aspect (cf. Ga jda 2009: 139). The final part of the article constitutes a short outline concerning the condition o f research over the commercial letter as the specialist text mainly in the German, as well as in the Polish linguistics of the text.
