It is possible to state that the organisation and way of functioning of the state administration has gone and will be going through an incessant development process, which has responded and will be responding to the changes and needs of the society. The analysis, which can be considered as an audit made for certain clients groups, is, besides others, also a starting point for the elaboration of an overall municipality strategy. The analysis can be realised by means of primary or secondary research. The present state of our society and the developmental tendencies taken in consideration, it is clear that the existence of leisure activities system will be a significant element in the decision-making processes of state employees on all levels of state (public) administration. The relationship between those who can influence the outer forces and those who occupy positions in the leisure-time organisations defines the dynamics of the future development. The role of municipalities in the domain of public services cannot be replaced. That is why it is necessary to study the opinions and attitudes of employees responsible on the local scale. It is also important for the information transfer and communication to be realized rapidly.

Opis:
The aim of the study is to assess the physical leisure time activity among the students of grade I–III of junior high school (aged 13–16) – during the school year and holidays – and identify possible causal factors of physical inactivity in this social group. The relationship between participation in sport for all during the school year (regular, periodic, sporadic) and during holidays (physically active/passive) and socio-demographic variables characterizing the structure was analyzed using the Chi 2 test. The relationship between respondents inactivity and those traits was assessed using log-linear analysis. The higher the grade (especially among girls), the more physically inactive individuals, the number of which grew during the school year as well as during holidays. The risk factors for inactivity included high BMI, living in the countryside and female sex. In case of girls (76.3%) the risk of inactivity increased by almost 1.4 times, as it did (OR = 0.75) with regard to living in rural areas (76.4%). The chance of being active increases more than 3-fold among those with normal BMI (28.0%) and the underweight (29.9%). Adolescents’ inactivity (increasing along with the grade pupils are in) points to the shortcomings of Polish process of education and an urgent need for system-based approach to promote active lifestyle in this social group.

The objective of the presented paper was to compare the selected variables of lifestyle in first - year students at two universities in Košice. The research sample group consisted of the first - year students of the P. J. Šafá rik University in Košice (UPJŠ, n=918, 651 women and 267 men) and the Technical University in Košice (TUKE, n=653, 239 women and 414 men). We compiled our own test battery named “The risk factors of obesity and its prevention through physical activity” and administered it to students at the beginning of the respective academic years (September 2012 and September 2013). Presented paper focuses on questions related to: the students' satisfaction with their lifestyle, students expressing a need to change their lifestyle, frequency of structured physical activity, motivation to engage in structured physical activity, sedentary behaviour, and a structure of leisure activities. To process the collected data, we used the statistical software R. To test the signific ance of differences between the universities we used the Wilcoxon rank - sum test. N o significant difference between the universities was found on variables indicating the satisfaction with lifestyle. The most repeated lifestyle components that students of b oth universities would like to change were physical activity and dietary habits. These data reflect the findings that in the last half year over 61.5 % of UPJŠ students and 48.9 % of TUKE students were engaged in structured physical activity either irregul arly or they were not engaged in any structured physical activity at all. Another analysis of significant difference (p<0.001) between the two universities was employed to indicate the frequency with which students engaged in structured physical activity. The analysis revealed a higher frequency in students of TUKE. The analysis also confirmed that the gender of a respondent had a greater influence on that difference than the university they attended. The students of both universities indicated that figure (appearance), enjoyment, health and physical fitness were the main motivators for structured physical activity. The difference between the universities, with regard to variables indicating the time which students spent engaged in sedentary behaviours was s ignificant (p<0.001) during both working days and weekend days, where gender had no influence on this difference. Sedentary behaviours prevailed among the most common leisure activities in students of both universities. At the beginning of their university studies, lifestyle of a large number of first - year students at the two universities is characterized by the low level of engagement in structured physical activity and by sedentary leisure activities, with the existing differences between genders and the universities.

Objectives To estimate the prevalence of leisure-time physical inactivity (LTPI) and associated factors among healthcare workers. Material and Methods The cross-sectional study carried out with 2684 healthcare workers from 4 municipalities from the northeast region, Brazil. The LTPI was assessed by dichotomous question. The association between LTPI and the various independent variables was examined through the multinomial logistic regression analysis (crude and adjusted). Results The prevalence of LTPI was 47.9% (95% confidence interval (CI): 46.01–48.80). The adjusted analysis (sociodemographic and occupational characteristics) showed that women and individuals with higher levels of education were more LTPI (p = 0.05). Conclusions The prevalence of LTPI was high among the population investigated, especially among women and individuals with higher education. These results show the importance of developing actions to encourage adherence to physical activity during leisure time among workers, especially among the most vulnerable groups (people with higher education and women), given the benefits of this behavior to health. Background. EU efforts to exploit the positive social impact of sport have also been a priority in the Visegrad (V4) countries over the past decade. Our analysis aimed to compare the frequency of sports activities among the V4 countries’ population and the effects of demographic, quality of life, sociocultural, socioeconomic, and sports infrastructural factors. Material and methods. The data analyzed are from the Special Eurobarometer 472 Sport and Physical Activity survey, conducted in 2017. All respondents (n=4,174) were over 15 years of age and resident in one of the four Visegrad countries. Frequency distribution, chi-square tests, and binary logistic regression models (including 12 explanatory variables and regular sports as independent variable) were used. Results. Hungary had the highest rate (16%) of respondents participating in sporting activity at least three times a week, while the Czech Republic had the highest rate of weekly regularity (31%), and the lowest inactivity rate (42%). In Poland, the inactivity rate was 62%. Age, education, and social status had a significant effect on the frequency of sports in all four countries. Conclusions. This paper highlights the slowly changeable role of demographic, sociocultural, and socioeconomic structures in influencing the frequency of sporting activity among the V4 countries, and underlines the potentially quick impact of sports infrastructure.
Wprowadzenie. Materiał i metody. Dane pochodzą z badania Eurobarometr 472 Sport i aktywność fizyczna, przeprowadzonego w 2017 r. Wszyscy respondenci (n=4174) to osoby w wieku od 15. roku życia z krajów V4. W analizie zastosowano dystrybucję częstotliwości, test chi-kwadrat, binarne modele regresji logistycznej (obejmujące 12 zmiennych objaśniających oraz regularną aktywność sportową jako zmienną niezależną). Wyniki. Największy odsetek (16%) respondentów uprawiających sport przynajmniej trzy razy w tygodniu wykazano na Węgrzech. Czechy osiągnęły z kolei najwyższy współczynnik regularności w tygodniu (31%) i najniższy współczynnik nieaktywności (42%). W Polsce współczynnik nieaktywności wyniósł 62%. Wiek, wykształcenie i status społeczny miały wpływ na częstotliwość uprawiania sportu we wszystkich czterech krajach. Wnioski.

The article considers the influence of the socio-psychological activities of the teen club by interests on the development of personal identification of teenagers. Personal identification plays an important role in the process of interaction between a psychologist, a teacher and a pupil, thus stimulating psycho-corrective changes. In this paper, we consider it appropriate to highlight and explore the impact of the club forms of work on the development of personal identification in the process of social and psychological activities. It is pointed out that there are hundreds of teen clubs that operate at the national, regional and local levels and implement a large number of different programs of socially significant direction in Ukraine nowadays. It has been proved that an important place in the system of education of the younger generation belongs to clubs. They are the social institutions that are designed to organize leisure time not only for adults and promote the diverse development of the growing individual. Therefore, all the activities of the club by interests consist of two interrelated parts such as purposeful educational, educational and organizational activities of employees and active participants of the club and leisure activities of adolescents. The study of personal identification of adolescents is based on theoretical analysis of existing research, which reveals a field of relevant aspects for further study, namely educational work with adolescents, social and cultural determinism, the connection with the experience of negative affect.

Timişoara became a rightful provincial capital of an Austrian domain during the 18th Century. In this period an important number of citizens chose to build and run inns or taverns  as landlords or just as leaseholders. The archive documents from Timişoara put together the puzzle pieces that recreate the stories of old public houses; they also contain information regarding all sorts of activities connected to the microcosm of taverns. Therefore the aim of this paper is to discover who the owners of inns were, why did they choose this trade and what was their place in Timişoara’s society. The clientele, less highlighted in documents, also plays a role through the choices of spending their leisure time in such places, through activities they fancied: music, gambling, billiards, bowling and the products they ordered for consumption. All these aspects enable us  to shed light one of the most vivid parts of 18th century urban life.

Beneficial use of leisure time is extremely important as it helps to expand the horizons for intellectual growth, emotional experiences, and personal enrichment. The aim of this study is to establish the interests and needs for music in children’s leisure time. Music is very close to the emotional nature of children and therefore could stimulate and develop their mental and physical abilities. This report focuses on the place of music and art in students’ life and discusses how much of their free time is taken up with these pursuits. It also analyses the needs of such activities. Here the results from a study in which children between 9 to 17 years of age from Bulgaria and Hungary took part are presented. The type of musical activities preferred by the children in their leisure time and the correlation between the activities of choice and cultural differences are also studied. Understanding what music activities children favour in their leisure time is important because learning combined with the  arts builds long lasting social skills and educates on tolerance, creativity and discipline. This combination when used in work with children, helps children to develop ability for better self-expression, building up confidence, concentration, integration in the group, developing imagination, recognizing the  good and beautiful,  and increases their chances for success in life.

Introduction. Leisure may provide certain unique subjective well-being (SWB) benefits that cannot be obtained through other domains in life, as leisure is typically characterized by autonomy or greater freedom of choice than other life dimensions. The objective of the present study was to analyse the level of SWB in male and female high school students with different health status preferring sedentary leisure time activities and compare SWB dimensions (SWB-Ds) between healthy students and students with self-reported health disorders (S-RHDs). Material and Methods. The research sample comprised of 153 male students (healthy; n=90 and with S-RHDs; n=63) and 238 female students (healthy; n=126 and with S-RHDs; n=112) who preferred sedentary types of leisure time activities. A standardized The Bern Subjective Well-Being Questionnaire for Adolescents (BFW) was used as a primary research method. Non-parametric Mann Whitney U-test was used to assess differences between two independent groups of male and female high school students according to their self-reported health status (healthy vs. with S-RHDs). Results. Significantly higher level of negative SWB-Ds was found in the group of male students with S-RHDs compare healthy male students (U=1672, p=0.000, r=0.34). No significant differences were found in the comparison between healthy female students and female students with S-RHDs. Conclusions. Many researches indicate a very close positive connection between regular participation in sport leisure activities and SWB, but just few of them investigate correlations and comparisons among SWB, health status and sport leisure activities participation.

Opis:
Cultural centre as an institution promoting culture among adultsCultural institutions are established to fulfil three major functions: creating, promoting and protecting culture. Of those three the main function of cultural centres is promotion. Unfortunately, the latest studies show that those centres do not pay enough attention to older people who have a lot of free time and are financially stable. It is important for cultural centres’ workers, who create curricula for their facilities, to take into consideration the recipients, their needs, interests, how much time and money they can spend in the cultural centre. Information about offered classes should get to those recipients in the right way and on time. The elements change depending on the recipients’ age. Adults are more aware of their interests than teenagers or children, therefore it is essential for the cultural centres to consider their needs in the curriculum. Unfortunately, adults and especially older people are very rarely active in social and cultural life. They prefer to spend their free time in passive or even monotonous way. It is probably due to a lack of a proper “preparation” to the old age. The preparation should begin from the youngest age and should include five fields of activity: biological, psychological, intellectual, social and economic. In order to ensure the right way of preparation, both cultural institutions and their recipients should increase the amount of free time older people spend in cultural centres. It is extremely important especially for older people whose ways of spending spare time may protect them from loneliness and alienation.

Opis:
ObjectivesIn this study, healthcare professionals’ beliefs about sportive recreational activities were examined.Material and MethodsThis was a cross-sectional study conducted with 940 volunteer healthcare professionals. The Sociodemographic Information Form prepared by the authors and the Health-Belief Scale on Sportive Recreational Activities (HBSSRA) determined on the basis of their literature review were used to collect data.ResultsAlthough it was concluded that 72% of the healthcare professionals did not have enough free time, the participation rate in sportive recreational activities reached 71.4%. The study revealed that 44.9% of the participants preferred to engage in sportive recreational activities individually, while 55.1% wanted to do such activities in a group. It was found that 72.9% of the participants took part in sports activities for health-related reasons. The mean health-belief score of the healthcare professionals regarding recreational activities was found to be 80.38 (SD = 10.32). As this score is very close to the maximum value (105.00), it can be stated that their health beliefs are high.ConclusionsIt is understood that participation in sportive recreational activities has positive effects on individuals’ physical and mental health; however, there are also some factors that prevent individuals’ participation in such activities. The income level, the marital status, the spouse’s employment status, having children, and time spent at the place of residence are important factors preventing participation in sportive recreational activities. This study is expected to help individuals gain a perspective about participation in sportive recreational activities, and to provide more evidence in raising the awareness about the protection of individual health. In addition, it is expected to help shape the behaviors aimed at being healthy by improving one’s own health-related beliefs.
