Lean Management is a management concept, creating such a work culture at a company that makes all employees strive to continuously reduce costs, improve the quality and shorten delivery cycle to maximally meet customers' expectations and adapt to the environment by eliminating any waste identified and the integration of activities connected with the stream creating customer value. This article presents the results of research related to the concepts of Lean Management in the modern enterprise, which were conducted among employees of Wielkopolska businesses.

The main goal of this publication is the attempt to answer the question: what is the leading type of raw material used in the manufacturing process of spare parts for agricultural machinery of the type selected. Such action in the conviction of authors will determine which of these areas the savings should be searched for, especially in the context of a lean - implying flexibility of the organization - management. In the context of the implementation of the predetermined basic goal, according to the authors, it is necessary to carry out a series of indirect actions, among which the following were distinguished: Analysis of the literature on management of lean organization, which implicitly allows to verify the accuracy and soundness of the research presented in the publication, Determining what type of raw material is the most commonly used in the production of a tested part of the, which will allow for the development of lean cost strategies within it. In the research the conceptual model thesis was adopted, namely: Type of raw materials used in the manufacture of selected spare parts implies a strategy for the cost leaning within it. This article is part of a preliminary study in the analysis and selection of raw materials in the context of lean management.

According to D. Woodhouse ”organizations exist for a purpose, sometimes set out in a mission or objectives; then they plan and act in ways intended to achieve these objectives” . Defining and documenting of processes and their interaction is basic prerequisite for effective management of the organizations. Therefore, idea of the lean management which is based on processes risks and weaknesses analysis is very useful. The main aims of this paper are to describe common features of processes and documents lean management and to highlight the essence of the documents and leadership for lean concept implementation. The use of lean management concept has to be combined with a total value chain strategy particularly considering process management supported by the documents management and lean managers on different stages of an organizational structure.
Według D. Woodhouse „organizacje istnieją w jakimś celu, czasami określonym w misji lub celach strategicznych, później planują i prowadzą działania zmierzające do osiągnięcia tego celu”1. Definiowanie i dokumentowanie procesów i ich wzajemne oddziaływanie jest podstawowym warunkiem efektywnego zarządzania organizacjami. Dlatego idea lean management, która opiera się na analizie ryzyka i słabych stron procesów jest bardzo przydatna. Głównym celem artykułu jest identyfikacja cech procesów „odchudzonego” zarządzania i ich dokumentacji oraz podkreślenie istoty przywództwa dla prezentowanej koncepcji lean. Zastosowanie koncepcji lean management musi być połączone ze strategią tworzenia łańcucha wartości szczególnie biorąc pod uwagę proces zarządzania wspomagany zarządzaniem dokumentacją oraz działalnością kierownictwa (lean managers) na różnych szczeblach struktury organizacyjnej.

Koncepcja lean management wywodzi się bezpośrednio z przedsiębiorstwa Toyota i w ciągu ostatnich dwudziestu lat zrewolucjonizowała branże produkcyjne, a później zaczęła być wykorzystywana również w usługach, handlu, jak również w sektorze publicznym. Koncepcja lean management zaczęła stopniowo podbijać rynki i spowodowała zapotrzebowanie na inny rodzaj informacji generowany przez system rachunkowości. W ten sposób powstała lean accounting, czyli „szczupła” rachunkowość podporządkowana regułom i wymogom lean management. Celem artykułu jest podkreślenie roli lean accounting jako kluczowego systemu informacyjnego organizacji „szczupłej” dostosowanego do specyfiki lean management. W artykule skonfrontowano również tradycyjną rachunkowość zarządczą z lean accounting i wskazano obszary, które wyraźnie rozdzielają te dwa systemy.
The paper shows the main aspects of lean management and emphasizes the role of lean accounting in process of implementation lean management to enterprise. There are also presented and discussed the key rules and methods of lean accounting.

Świadomość pracowników dotycząca wprowadzanych zmian w przedsiębiorstwie, może i często jest czynnikiem determinujących sukces takiego przedsięwzięcia. Przedsiębiorstwa produkcyjne dostosowując swoje procesy produkcyjne do zmiennych warunków rynkowych często wdrażają wybrane narzędzie Lean Management. Celem artykułu jest odpowiedź na pytanie problemowe: czy świadomość pracowników jest niezbędnym elementem wdrożenia narzędzi lean management w przedsiębiorstwie. Celem pośrednim autorów była weryfikacja skuteczności metod wdrożenia narzędzi oraz wskazanie kierunku dalszego rozwoju koncepcji i budowania kultury lean w strukturze badanej organizacji. Elementami pomocnymi w odpowiedzi na to pytanie będą analiza stanu wdrożenia narzędzi Lean Management w badanym przedsiębiorstwie oraz badania ankietowe wśród pracowników dotyczące świadomości wprowadzonych zmian. W artykule dokonano również krytycznej analizy przyjętej metodologii wdrożenia Lean Management w badanym przedsiębiorstwie i propozycję jej usprawnień.
Employees’ awereness of implementing changes in company may be and usually is a factor which determines success of such an undertaking. Production factories have to implement dedicated tools of lean management to adjust their production processes to changing conditions in the market. The aim of the paper is to find answer to the question if employees awereness is the key element in implementing those tools in the company. What is more, authors would like to verify the efficiency in implementing choosen tools and show possible steps of further implementation and building lean culture in the organisation. Authors used several tools to fulfill the task and find the answer to above stated question. In the paper the results of survey are provided. Based on employees answers, authors could analyse the level of awereness and commitment among company. What is more, the study on level of transformation is shown, based on personal observations of the process. Through research authors tried to check the level of understanding and commitment within workforce. Authors provided a critical analysis of choosen metodology of Lean Management’s implementation and suggested several possible improvements.

The paper deals with the use of Lean Manufacturing tools in improving the production process of car arm rests in a car manufacturing company in Poland. The article describes the original condition of a single production process of assembling ready pieces to produce car arm rests. The original condition was assessed and described with the use of some basic Lean indicators and value stream mapping. The aforementioned tools allowed to assess the process condition and to identify the organizational issues and their sources. It also enabled to reorganize the process and increase its efficiency. The further part of the article describes the results of improvement actions. The process assessment was held and improvements introduced in the first quarter of 2018.

Artykuł zawiera przegląd ważnych aspektów, które należy wziąć pod uwagę w trakcie kształtowania organizacji inteligentnej (OI), patrząc z perspektywy koncepcji Lean Management (LM) oraz narzędzi z tej kategorii, które można zastosować w celu formowania nowej struktury organizacyjnej, jaką jest OI. W początkowej części artykułu omówiono koncepcję OI oraz dokonano próby wskazania jej cech charakterystycznych. Następnie zaprezentowano koncepcję LM oraz pokrótce omówiono wybrane narzędzia, które można wykorzystać przy próbie formowania OI. Skupiono się na próbie dobrania i dopasowania narzędzi LM tak, aby przeanalizować, czy wdrożenie wybranego narzędzia będzie wspierało osiągnięcie jednej z charakterystycznych cech OI. W niniejszym artykule zaprezentowano wybrane narzędzia z szerokiej gamy instrumentów LM oraz przedstawiono, w jaki sposób owe narzędzia mogą pozytywnie wpływać na określone cechy OI. Skupiono się na rozwiązaniach możliwych do zaimplementowania w środowisku firm o charakterze produkcyjnym, gdyż sam Lean oraz jego charakterystyczne narzędzia wywodzą się z tradycji firm z tego segmentu. Intencją tej publikacji jest poszerzenie zbioru aktualnej wiedzy teoretycznej jako punktu wyjścia, który może posłużyć za odniesienie dla praktycznych badań naukowców.

Podano różnice i podobieństwa pomiędzy obiema metodami, a także opisano metodę Lean Six Sigma, będącą połączeniem najważniejszych zalet Lean Management i Six Sigma. Przedstawiono przypadki wdrożenia tej metody w przemyśle wydobywczym oraz przykładowe efekty finansowe. Branża górnicza jest miejscem, gdzie efekt synergii powstały z połączenia Lean i Six Sigma jest szczególnie wysoki.
The article characterizes currently most popular methods for improving production processes: Lean Management (Lean Production, Lean Manufacturing) and Six Sigma (6 Sigma, 6σ). It also presents the differences and similarities between the two methods. Subsequently paper describes Lean Six Sigma method, which is a combination of the most important advantages of Lean Management and Six Sigma. The implementation of this method in the mining industry and examples of financial results are reported. Mining industry is the area where the synergy effect created from the combination of Lean and Six Sigma is particularly high.

Lean Management jest już często stosowane w przedsiębiorstwach przemysłowych. Zyskało ono popularność dzięki szczególnym wynikom osiąganym przez jego zastosowanie. Jednak w usługach stosowanie Lean nasuwa wiele pytań i wątpliwości. Celem artykułu jest wskazanie koniecznych dostosowań zasad obowiązujących w Lean do działalności usługowej. Artykuł ma charakter analityczno-koncepcyjny i opiera się na studiach światowej literatury przedmiotu. Określono w nim kluczowe wyzwania wiążące się z stosowaniem Lean w usługach, należą do nich: 1) kultura organizacyjna, która jest filarem Lean powinna być poszerzona o ujęcie usługowe, 2) strumień wartości musi uwzględnić działania realizowane przez klientów, 3) zagadnienie marnotrawstwa powinno być poszerzone o jego nowe znaczenia typowe dla usług, 4) standaryzacja wymaga nowego ujęcia uwzględniającego specyfikę usługową, 5) narzędzia Lean, szeroko rozpowszechnione w tym podejściu, wymagają przepracowania i opracowania nowych.
Lean management is very often used by manufacturing companies. It gained its popularity thanks to the outstanding results achieved because of it. However, in services, the use of lean is associated with a number of questions and doubts. The purpose of this article is to indicate the necessary adjustments of lean principles for service operations. This article takes an analytical-conceptual approach and is based on the studies of the world literature of the subject. It identifies the key challenges associated with lean in services, including: (1) the organisational culture that is the pillar of lean should be broadened to include a service approach, (2) the value stream must take into account customer actions, (3) the waste issue should be extended to include new service-specific ones, (4) standardisation requires a new service-oriented approach, (5) lean tools, that are widely used in this approach, require to be reworked and developed.
Бережливое управление (lean management) уже часто применяется на промышленных предприятиях. Оно получило распространение благодаря особым результатам, достигаемым с его применением. В услугах же применение принципа lean сопяржено со многими вопросами и сомнениями. Цель статьи – указать необходимые приспособления принципов, обязывающих в lean, к обслуживающей деятельности. Статья имеет аналитико-концептуальный характер и основывается на изучении мировой литературы по предмету. В ней определили основные вызовы, связанные с применением lean в услугах. К ним относят: 1) организационную культуру, которая представляет собой ко- стяк lean, надо расширить на услуги, 2) поток ценностей должен учитывать дествия, осуществляемые клиентами, 3) вопрос расточительства должен быть расширен на его новые значения, типичные для услуг, 4) стандартизация тре- бует нового подхода, учитывающего специфику услуг, 5) инструменты lean, широко распространенные в этом подходе, требуют переработки и разработки новых.

Lean management is an approach to continuous process optimisation. The methodology involves the entire value chain. The individual links are made more efficient and thus leaner. The main goal of lean management is to use various lean methods, procedures and thinking principles to coordinate all processes and activities in such a way that any kind of waste along the value chain is avoided in a holistic production system. This would result in the following main difficulties: Transporting information quickly and purposefully to the right places in the company. This is where the lean tool of shopfloor Management (SFM) comes into its own. The shopfloor board is the communication platform of SFM. Shopfloor takes place very close to the employees in a direct interaction between employees and managers. Staff are directly involved in the process and should and can contribute their own approaches to solutions. The article provides an overview of the structure of shopfloor management (SFM) and proves that the goals set by the introduction itself – namely the optimised flow of information in the company with the involvement of all employees – are achieved through shopfloor Management. The method of a structured interview with 63 respondents is used to obtain data.

The enterprises for the research were chosen purposefully, because of two reasons - the possibility to obtain information on the researched area and the assumption that these enterprises use the lean concept instruments. The questionnaire was the research tool. The goal of the research was to examine, what are the most expected advantages from implementing of lean concept methods, and what were the real advantages, that occurred in production system of researched enterprises. The authors presented the quantitative results of the study and carried out an analysis of the response in the form of a matrix. The developed matrix extended the knowledge about the distribution of observed benefits. It enables to indicate which advantages occurred in the enterprises expecting and not expecting some benefits.

The article focuses primarily on the implementing of selected tools of Lean Management in the functioning of an enterprise with non-series manufacturing process. The aim is to present the possibilities of implementation of selected solutions in an enterprise which is the subject of the study. The article puts forward the essential concept of Lean Management. It contains information concerning, among other things, the specifics of this concept, the benefits of its implementation in an enterprise, and expenditure to be incurred in order to begin its practice. The paper presents selected, and at the same, basic tools used in Lean Management and includes practical aspects of the application of Lean Management in an enterprise with non-series process.
