W niniejszym artykule w oparciu o dokumenty kościelne i opracowania katechetyczne przedstawiono zagadnienie duszpasterstwa katechetycznego w parafii, etapy katechezy parafialnej, grupy osób dorosłych objętych katechezą oraz treści katechezy biblijnej w parafii. Najwięcej uwagi poświęcono grupom katechetycznym. Wyróżniono w nich osoby podzielone ze względu na zaangażowanie w sprawy wiary, osoby podzielone ze względu na szczególne sytuacje życiowe oraz inne grupy katechetyczne, czyli rodziców, dorosłych posługujących w liturgii oraz katechetów. Do wszystkich tych grup osób dorosłych powinna być skierowana odpowiednia katecheza, w tym również katecheza biblijna otwierająca na spotkanie z Chrystusem obecnym w słowie Bożym.
The present paper describes the problem of parish catechetical ministry, as well as the levels of parish catechesis, groups of adults for which catecheses are intended, and the subject matter of parish biblical catechesis, taking into account the Church documents and catechetical guidelines. Most of the attention was paid to the catechetical groups. There were distinguished groups of adults classified according to their degree of adherence to the faith, or according to their specific life situations, as well as other catechetical groups i.e. parents, lay liturgical ministers, and catechists. A proper catechesis should be directed towards each of these groups of adults. This concerns also the biblical catechesis which prepares to meet Christ present in the Word of God.

Adult catechesis should lead to deepening of their faith. This happens at the intellect level and the level of relationship (strong bond with God). The general goal is to get the answer to the question posed in the title: does a modern adult man need to be more careful about relationship or knowledge on the path of catechesis? Documents and theological reflection teach us: faith is the personal adherence of man to God. Thomas Aquinas said that faith is an act of intellect. To look for answers, it must be said that both these levels are equally important. Even more, both these realities must develop and grow in parallel. It is the only way for the proper and mature catechesis of adults.

This article is a reflection on adult catechesis and chances of its realization in accordance with priestly programmes of the Church in Poland. In the first part of the article, the author sets out the fundamental points concerning adult catechesis in relation to the assumptions of the document that is a priestly programme. The reading of the priestly programmes of Polish Episcopal Conference from the last decade indicates that the Church is facing a complex challenge of realization of adult catechesis in its contemporary conditioning. There is a need to search for new, adequate directions and forms of priestly work of the Church so as to talk about effective adult catechesis. The further part of the article depicts the content of priestly programmes which contain the main message of adult catechesis. The last part indicates the possibilities of the realization of adult catechesis resulting from the assumptions of priestly programmes of the Church. The analysis that was conducted by the author made the formulation of concrete priestly and catechetical conclusions of the practical nature possible. These conclusions should be included both by people responsible for realisation of adult catechesis in parishes and people who will programme this excellent form of catechesis in the future.
Artykuł stanowi refleksję nad katechezą dorosłych i możliwościami jej realizacji w oparciu o programy duszpasterskie Kościoła w Polsce. W pierwszej części artykułu zostały przytoczone fundamentalne kwestie dotyczące katechezy dorosłych w odniesieniu do założeń dokumentu, jakim jest program duszpasterski. Lektura programów duszpasterskich Konferencji Episkopatu Polski z ostatniej dekady wskazuje, że Kościół stoi przed złożonym wyzwaniem realizacji katechezy dorosłych w jej współczesnych uwarunkowaniach. Należy poszukiwać nowych, adekwatnych kierunków i form pracy duszpasterskiej Kościoła aby mówić o skutecznej katechezie dorosłych. W dalszej części artykułu zostały ukazane treści programów duszpasterskich, które zawierają główne przesłanie katechezy dorosłych. W ostatnim etapie wskazano możliwości realizacji katechezy dorosłych wynikające z założeń programów duszpasterskich Kościoła. Przeprowadzona w artykule analiza umożliwiła sformułowanie konkretnych wniosków duszpasterskich i katechetycznych o charakterze praktycznym. Wnioski te powinny zostać uwzględnione zarówno przez osoby odpowiedzialne za realizację katechezy dorosłych w parafiach, jak i tych, którzy w przyszłości będą programować tę najznakomitszą formę katechezy.

The catechesis of adults is considered as the principal form of catechesis. The Church is constantly looking for methods and forms of catechesis appropriate for an adult recipient. The biblical catechesis of adults Mess’AJE is one of the interesting catechetical proposals, which has enjoyed success in France and in many other countries around the world. The foundation of the pedagogy of faith is the Bible, and its source is divine pedagogy. What constitutes the originality of the pedagogy of adult catechesis Mess’AJE, is the proposal of travelling through the history of the faith of God’s people in the Bible. It is the history of salvation containing milestones – the so-called “thresholds of faith”, which becomes the history of acts of faith to remain faithful to God. The catechized know the history of the faith of God’s people and they discover in it their own history. Professor Jacques Bernard, the founder of this catechesis, shows in the Bible four thresholds of faith: Exodus, Exile, Jesus, The Church. Each catechetical meeting, according to the Mess’AJE approach, includes five elements: presentation and discussion of audiovisual material inspired by the Bible, biblical and historical approach, theological approach, sharing in groups, prayer.

Opis:
Indications for the ecumenical dialogue are included in the church documentation on the catechesis of adults. The ecumenical dimension of catechesis of adults is one of the basic conditions of the holistic approach of this catechesis. Exhortation Catechesi tradendae by John Paul II tells us about it. In the document Adult Catechesis in the Christian community by the International Council for Catechesis, ecumenical issues are treated as a permanent element of the media. The catechesis of adults does not exist in Poland. It is therefore difficult to show how the education of dialogue in the catechesis of adults should look like. Hence a fundamental challenge is to build the catechesis of adults. Only then one can talk about and appraise the position of the ecumenical dialogue among adult Christians.
W dokumentach Kościoła na temat katechezie dorosłych są wskazania dotyczące dialogu ekumenicznego. Wymiar ekumeniczny katechezy dorosłych jest jednym z podstawowych warunków całościowego ujęcia tej katechezy. Mówi o tym adhortacja Jana Pawła II Catechesi tradendae. W dokumencie Międzynarodowej Rady do spraw Katechezy, jakim jest Katecheza dorosłych we wspólnocie chrześcijańskiej, zagadnienia ekumeniczne są traktowane jako stały element przekazu. W Polce nie ma katechezy dorosłych. Trudno jest więc wskazywać, jak powinno wyglądać wychowanie do dialogu osób dorosłych. Dlatego podstawowym wyzwaniem jest budowanie w Polsce katechezy dorosłych. Dopiero wówczas będzie można mówić i oceniać stan dialogu ekumenicznego wśród dorosłych chrześcijan.

The present paper deals with the problem of biblical catechesis intended for adults in the light of the Church documents and studies. Basic catechetical documents were taken into account: the Apostolic Exhortation Catechesi Tradendae of Pope John Paul II on catechesis in our time, the document issued by the Congregation for the Clergy, entitled General directory for catechesis, the document of the Polish Episcopal Conference, entitled Catechetical directory of the catholic Church in Poland, as well as the document issued by the International Council for Catechesis, entitled Adult catechesis in the Christian community: some principles and guidelines, and the consecutive document of the Polish Episcopal Conference – Directory for pastoral care of liturgical ministers. The paper discusses the problem of adult catechesis in parish focusing on biblical catechesis. Selected forms and methods of biblical catechesis in parish were presented, followed by some propositions with respect to the presentation of biblical themes.
Niniejszy artykuł podejmuje zagadnienie katechezy biblijnej skierowanej do osób dorosłych w świetle obowiązujących dokumentów kościelnych i opracowań. Wzięto pod uwagę podstawowe dokumenty katechetyczne: adhortację apostolską Jana Pawła II o katechizacji w czasach współczesnych Catechesi tradendae, dokument Kongregacji ds. Duchowieństwa zatytułowany Dyrektorium ogólne o katechizacji, dokument Konferencji Episkopatu Polski zatytułowany Dyrektorium katechetyczne Kościoła katolickiego w Polsce oraz dokument Międzynarodowej Rady do Spraw Katechezy zatytułowany Katecheza dorosłych we wspólnocie chrześcijańskiej. Niektóre linie i ukierunkowania i następny dokument Konferencji Episkopatu Polski – Dyrektorium duszpasterstwa służby liturgicznej. W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienie katechezy dorosłych w parafii ze zwróceniem uwagi na katechezę biblijną, wymieniono niektóre formy i metody katechezy biblijnej w parafii, a na końcu podano propozycje dotyczące przekazu treści biblijnych.

Adult catechesis is the most important pastoral task of the Church. Taking up this task requires, however, several conditions that must be fulfilled, of which the most important is to gather together a living community of faith and to undertake, with the adult subject, the formation of a dialogue of salvation. So, it must be a community for adults who need support and companionship in their specific adult life situations (adult church) and hope-oriented formation (discernment in the Holy Spirit). In this study, the author tried to listen to adults (over 1500 people from different parts of Poland) and recognize their spiritual problems and present them in the context of contemporary culture. The article uses authentic adult statements, pointing out important issues that may be the basis for catechetical meetings. In their opinion, the Church should become a place of authentic dialogue around the real issues that adults have and the formation of practical skills in the life of faith. The text is at the same time a reflection of the author dealing with forms of adult catechesis over the most important spiritual problems of the middle generation and the directions of work with them.
Katecheza dorosłych jest najważniejszym zadaniem pastoralnym Kościoła. Podjęcie tego zadania wymaga jednak spełnienia kilku warunków, spośród których najważniejsze dotyczą zwołania żywej wspólnoty wiary oraz podjęcia z dorosłym podmiotem formacji dialogu zbawienia. Musi więc to być wspólnota dla ludzi dorosłych, którzy potrzebują wsparcia i towarzyszenia w ich konkretnych dorosłych sytuacjach codzienności (dorosły Kościół) oraz formacja ukierunkowana na nadzieję (rozeznawanie w Duchu Świętym). W swoich badaniach Autor w rozmowie z dorosłymi (ponad 1500 osób z różnych części Polski) podjął próbę wysłuchania dorosłych i rozpoznania ich duchowych problemów oraz przedstawienia ich na tle współczesnej kultury. W artykule wykorzystano autentyczne wypowiedzi dorosłych, wskazujących na istotne z ich punktu widzenia sprawy, które mogą stanowić podstawę dla spotkań katechetycznych. W ich opinii Kościół powinien stać się miejscem autentycznego dialogu wokół realnych spraw, jakimi dorośli żyją na co dzień oraz formacji pozwalającej uzyskać praktyczne umiejętności w życiu wiarą. Tekst stanowi zrazem refleksję Autora zajmującego się formami katechezą dorosłych nad najważniejszymi problemami duchowymi średniego pokolenia oraz kierunkami pracy razem z nimi.

Współczesny Kościół, aby był skuteczny w obszarze wychowania, musi podjąć określone wyzwania. Pierwszym jest utrzymanie i rozwijanie świadomości w rodzicach, że są pierwszymi wychowawcami swoich dzieci. Dzisiaj bowiem dość często zwalniają się z religijnego wychowania potomstwa. Tymczasem to rodzina jest domowym Kościołem, który dba o rozwój swoich członków. Innym wyzwaniem jest odbudowa katechezy dorosłych. Nie ma takiej katechezy w Polsce. Istnieje natomiast ścisły związek między katechezą rodziców a skutecznym wychowaniem młodego pokolenia. Należy także zadbać, aby rozwijała się katecheza parafialna. Jest ona podstawową drogą wychowania chrześcijańskiego. Nie zastąpi tej katechezy nauczanie religii w szkole, które nie jest do końca katechezą. Nie przyniosła ona w Polsce religijnego ożywienia uczniów. Ważnym wyzwaniem jest również obecność w świecie mediów. Młodzi ludzie traktują świat mediów jako własną przestrzeń życia, która jednak rodzi problemy alienacji z rzeczywistego życia, uzależnienia, chaos informacyjny powodujący niezdolność do wyboru pozytywnych wartości.
The contemporary Church, in order to be effective in the area of education, must take up specific challenges. The first one is to establish and develop parents’ awareness that they are the earliest educators of their children. It is noticed that they quite often discharge themselves from providing religious education for their offspring. Whereas, a family is the Church that looks after the growth of its members. Another challenge is to renew the adult catechesis which does not exist in Poland. There is a close relationship between catechesis of parents and effective education of young people. It is also importat to develop parish catechesis as it is a primary path of Christian education. Such catechesis cannot be replaced by Religious Education at schools, as it is not the proper catechesis. Religious Education has little impact on religious revival of pupils in Poland. Needless to say, resence in the media has a very important role. Young people treat the media as their own living space which, nonetheless, can cause problems of alienation, addiction or chaos information leading to the inability to choose positive values.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest ukazanie realnej sylwetki absolwenta Szkoły Katechistów Archidiecezji Poznańskiej z uwzględnieniem nie tylko intencyjnych zamierzeń wynikających z dokumentów Kościoła, refleksji Synodu Archidiecezji Poznańskiej i założeń katechezy dorosłych, ale także hospitacji katechez oraz samooceny katechistów. Na opis sylwetki absolwenta składają się trzy wymiary: powołanie i misja katechisty, formacja, kompetencje. Pytania badawcze, które wyznaczają obszar badań, to: „W jakim stopniu teoretyczna idea szkoły jest zgodna z poczuciem misji do głoszenia katechez dla dorosłych oraz realnymi kompetencjami katechistów?”, „Jak kompetencje katechistów oceniają obserwatorzy katechez?”, „Jak oceniają formację w szkole sami katechiści?”, „Na ile treści prezentowane w szkole są przydatne w nabieraniu potrzebnych później kompetencji?”. Biorąc pod uwagę celowość pracy, dokonano analizy dokumentów oraz przeprowadzono ankietowe badania empiryczne. Wizja sylwetki katechisty została odniesiona do wyników badań. Rezultatem pracy jest zauważenie generalnej zasadności powziętych założeń twórców szkoły z praktyką. W niektórych obszarach realna sylwetka absolwenta jednak różni się od tej wyznaczonej w idei. Dopracowania wymaga obszar formacji stałej i ewaluacji katechez.
The aim of this article is to present the genuine profile of the graduate of Poznan Archdiocese School of Catechist, in terms of not only the intentional targets, which stem from Church documents, reflection after the Poznan Archdiocese Synod and the adults’ catechism assumptions, but also on the base of the observation sheets conducted by the catechists and their self-evaluation. There are three fields in which the graduate profile is concerned; the vocation and mission of the catechist, the educational status, and his or her abilities. The questions asked in this research are following: “To what extent is the theoretical school concept consistent with the sense of the adults’ catechists mission, and also with the real abilities of the catechists?”, “What is the opinion of the catechists’ abilities given by their observers?”, “What is the opinion of the school formation by the catechists themselves?”, “How far is the school formation useful in getting the further competencies?”. Taking into account the sense of the following research, both the analysis of the documents and the survey research have been accomplished. The vision of the catechist profile has been referred to the results of the following research. The results of the study prove the general validity of the school authors with the practice. However, in some of the fields, the real graduate profile distinguishes from the one presented in the documents mentioned above. The area of permanent formation and evaluation of catecheses needs to be refined.

Salezjanie, którzy obchodzą w tym roku 200-lecie urodzin swojego założyciela, św. Jana Bosko, wezwani są do odpowiedzi na współczesne wyzwania w dziedzinie wychowania. Muszą poszukiwać ich w dzisiejszym społeczeństwie, które jest nacechowane chaosem w dziedzinie wartości, liberalnym podejściem do tradycji, kultury i religii. Salezjanie w tej sytuacji mają zmierzać zarówno do zapewnienia wychowankowi poczucia stabilności i egzystencjalnego bezpieczeństwa, jak i do wychowania człowieka. Innym obszarem poszukiwania odpowiedzi jest rodzina. Salezjanie mają pamiętać, że pierwszymi wychowawcami są rodzice, wspólnie z nimi, nie sami, muszą zabiegać o integralne wychowanie młodego pokolenia. Mają wychowywać przez miłość do miłości, zgodnie z systemem prewencyjnym. Dzisiejsi rodzice potrzebują w swoich zadaniach wychowawczych wsparcia. Może nim być katecheza rodziny czy katecheza dorosłych. Dlatego salezjanie powinni bardziej otwierać się na wychowywanie ludzi dorosłych. Ich szczególnym zadaniem jest też troska o rozwój oratorium jako paradygmatu wychowania w stylu prewencyjnym.
The Salesians, who celebrate this year the 200th anniversary of the birth of their founder, St. John Bosco, are called to respond to the contemporary challenges in the field of education. One of them is the search for answers in today’s society. It is characterized by chaos in the field of values, liberal approach to tradition, culture, and religion.In this situation, the Salesians seek to ensure pupil existential sense of stability and security. It is achieved by an educational system based on reason, religion, and love. It can assist in the education of the whole person. Another area to search for answers is the family. The Salesians cannot forget that parents are the first educators. That is why we, as Salesians, and the parents together aim to seek the integral education of the younger generation. Emphasized by St. John Bosco, in this context love means a value indicating the direction of family education: to educate by love for love. Today, however, parents need instruction support in their work. This may mean family catechesis and catechesis of adults. Therefore the Salesians should be more open to educating adults so that parents would be more aware of their Christian duties. The last area to finding answers to the challenges are existing educational institutions in the Salesian Congregation. The first is the oratory, somewhat today neglected by the Polish Salesians. Meanwhile, the chance of an education can be attained due to the fact that religion and culture are to be combined.
