    The article is a comparative study of selected elements of three philosophical positions which arose on the theoretical underpinning of the concept of transcendental idealism: Johann Gottlieb Fichte’s Theory of Knowledge, Edmund Husserl’s transcendental phenomenology, and Marek J. Siemek’s transcendental philosophy. The primary aims of the study are to examine the epistemological assumptions underlying the three positions, and then critically reconstruct and bring into focus their metaphilosophical component. The article seeks to corroborate the titular thesis that transcendentalism as an epistemological position provides the concepts discussed here with a theoretical framework for a radically conceived interpretation of metaphilosophical discourse.

    The work of Agata Bielik-Robson is now linked, according to her own declarations, with contemporary postsecular philosophy. This text, which critically confronting two excerpts from her books related with the problem of “immanency”, was primarily intended to show how deep her writings are rooted rather in classical speculative thinking. Such an approach, I hope, shows at the same time that the nineteenth-century dialectics, even if it is not fully accepted by modern authors, sometimes allows to describe problems of their thinking better.

    From Fichte to Kant and back. Several considerations on Marek J. Siemek’s concept of transcendentalism: The basic interpretation claim presented in Marek J. Siemek’s book is that Kant created a completely new level of philosophical reflection, for which the epistemo‑ logical question remains characteristic. This question — in contrast to the epistemic questions posed before Kant — neither solely focuses on the problem of the ontic structure of the reality nor it does on the cognitive conditions which enable a subject to get to know the latter. The epistemological question deals with the very relationship that occurs between the cognition (subject) and the reality (object) and constitutes both the ontological and cognitive conditions of knowledge. According to Siemek, Kant developed a transcendental perspective, but only Fichte was able to fully develop it, while Kant dealt with interweaving epistemic and epistemo‑ logical threads. However, one can defend the thesis that Kantian solutions, on the one hand, are much more strongly situated on the epistemological level of reflection than Siemek was ready to admit, and on the other hand, they offer a weaker (static) model of transcendentalism which — in contrast to the stronger (genetic) Fichte’s model — explores only the impassable limits of transcendental reflection

    Im Angesicht der so genannten ‚kopernikanischen Wende’ sowie infolge der imponierenden Fortschritte der Astronomie in den folgenden zwei Jahrhunderten haben sich die Vorstellungen der Europäer vom Universum radikal verändert. Eine der wichtigsten Konsequenzen war die Säkularisierung des Weltbildes. Denker und Dichter wie J.G. Fichte und Jean Paul reflektierten über Gott, den Menschen und das Absolute, wobei sie einen charakteristischen, neuen metaphernreichen Diskurs kreierten. Die Bilder entnahmen sie der alten und neuen Astronomie.
    In the face of the so -called “Copernican Revolution”, and also due to the incredible development of astronomy over centuries, whose consummation was Newton’s physics, Europeans’ views on the Universe dramatically transformed, primarily, were symbolically secularized. The thinkers and writers from the turn of the 18th and 19th century, such as J.G. Fichte and Jean Paul, reflected on God, the Absolute, and human, creating a characteristic discourse full of metaphors taken from the cosmology of their time and from the past.

    The article presents the history of Alma Mater Jenensis from its inception in 1548 untill the early 20th century. The University of Jena, also known as Salana (after the river Saale, on which Jena lies), is one of the oldest German universities. Since the 16th century, it has been a centre of Lutheran thought. In the end 17th and 18th centuries prominent professors such as mathematician Erhard Weigel, historian Johann Andreas Bose, physician Werner Rolfinck, historian Friedrich Schiller, philosophers Johann Gottlieb Fichte, Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph Schelling and Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel conducted research or taught here. Since the 19th century, the University has cooperated with the Zeiss company manufacturing optical equipment. The author also discussed the collections of the Collegium Jenense and generally of the University.
