Opis:
Given a probability space (Ω, A, P) and a complete separable metric space X, we consider R continuous and bounded solutions φ: X → R of the equations φ (x) = ∫Ω φ(ƒ(x, ω)) P(dω) and φ(x) = 1 - ∫Ωφ(ƒ(x, ω)) P(dω), assuming that the given function ƒ : X x Ω → X is controlled by a random variable L: Ω → (0, ∞) with -∞ < ∫Ω log L (ω) P (dω) < 0. An application to a refinement type equation is also presented.

Opis:
In this paper, we consider approximation methods for operator equations of the form Au + Bu = ƒ, where A is a discrete Wiener-Hopf operator on lp (1≤ p < ∞) which symbol has roots on the unit circle with arbitrary multiplicities (not necessary integers). Conditions on perturbation B and ƒ are given in order to guarantee the applicability of projection-iterative methods. Effective error estimates, and simultaneously, decaying properties for solutions are obtained in terms of some smooth spaces.

Consider a nonlinear differential-functional equation (1) Au + f(x,u(x),u) = 0 where $Au := ∑_{i,j=1}^m a_{ij}(x) (∂²u)/(∂x_i ∂x_j)$, $x=(x_1,...,x_m) ∈ G ⊂ ℝ^m$, G is a bounded domain with $C^{2+α}$ (0 < α < 1) boundary, the operator A is strongly uniformly elliptic in G and u is a real $L^p(G̅)$ function. For the equation (1) we consider the Dirichlet problem with the boundary condition (2) u(x) = h(x) for x∈ ∂G. We use Chaplygin's method [5] to prove that problem (1), (2) has at least one regular solution in a suitable class of functions. Using the method of upper and lower functions, coupled with the monotone iterative technique, H. Amman [3], D. H. Sattinger [13] (see also O. Diekmann and N. M. Temme [6], G. S. Ladde, V. Lakshmikantham, A. S. Vatsala [8], J. Smoller [15]) and I. P. Mysovskikh [11] obtained similar results for nonlinear differential equations of elliptic type. A special case of (1) is the integro-differential equation $Au + f(x,u(x), ∫_G u(x)dx) = 0$. Interesting results about existence and uniqueness of solutions for this equation were obtained by H. Ugowski [17].

We consider the Fourier first initial-boundary value problem for an infinite system of semilinear parabolic differential-functional equations of reaction-diffusion-convection type of the form [formula] where [formula] in a bounded cylindrical domain (0, T] x G := D rcup Rm+1. The right-hand sides of the system are Volterra type functionals of the unknown function z. In the paper, we give methods of the construction of the monotone iterative sequences converging to the unique classical solution of the problem considered in partially ordered Banach spaces with various convergence rates of iterations. We also give remarks on monotone iterative methods in connection with numerical methods, remarks on methods for the construction of lower and upper solutions and remarks concerning the possibility of extending these methods to more general parabolic equations. All monotone iterative methods are based on differential inequalities and, in this paper, we use the theorem on weak partial differential-functional inequalities for infinite systems of parabolic equations, the comparison theorem and the maximum principle. A part of the paper is based on the results of our previous papers. These results generalize the results obtained by several authors in numerous papers for finite systems of semilinear parabolic differential equations to encompass the case of infinite systems of semilinear parabolic differential-functional equations. The monotone iterative schemes can be used for the computation of numerical solutions.

This paper presents the results of applying a new iterative method to linear and nonlinear fractional partial differential equations in fluid mechanics. A numerical analysis was performed to find an exact solution of the fractional wave equation and fractional Burgers’ equation, as well as an approximate solution of fractional KdV equation and fractional Boussinesq equation. Fractional derivatives of the order are described using Caputo's definition with 01<α≤ or 12<α≤. A comparative analysis of the results obtained using a new iterative method with those obtained by the Adomian decomposition method showed the first method to be more efficient and simple, providing accurate results in fewer computational operations. Given its flexibility and ability to solve nonlinear equations, the iterative method can be used to solve more complex linear and nonlinear fractional partial differential equations.

Opis:
There exist criteria for reducing the order of a large state-space model based on the accuracy of the approximate solutions to the Lyapunov matrix equations and the Hankel operator. Iterative solution techniques for the Lyapunov equations with the Arnoldi method have been proposed in a number of papers. In this paper we derive error bounds for approximations to the solutions to the Lyapunov equations as well as for the Hankel operator that indicate how to precondition while solving these equations iteratively.These bounds show that the error depends on three terms: First, on the amount of invariance of the constructed subspace for A, second, on the eigenvalues of A at least in proportion to 1/|Re l|, and third, under a certain condition on projectors P_l=W_lW_l* ,on the factor min_{X in C^{l x p}}|| B-( l I-A)W_lX|| for l on a path G surrounding the spectrum of A. Consequently, in order to compensate for those parts of the spectrum where 1/|Re l| is not small, preconditioning or an inverse iteration is needed to keep the sizes of the matrices used in construction of a reduced-order model moderate.

A method was presented for the iterative calculations of a circle parameters (m , m , R ) as based on the Newtonian x y formula. The iterative computation flow was interrupted when the gradient function value of nonlinear homogeneous equations –6 was smaller than 10 . For the program testing, the points from two sets were used, in the first set the points in the neighborhood of a circle were selected and in the second one from the set after circle scanning on the manually driven machine firm VIS were used. Uncertainty of measurements for the employed machine was 0,012 mm in the OX axis and 0,01 mm in the OY axis. Program calculate: least squares reference cylinder (LSCI), maximum inscribed reference circle (MICI), minimum circumscribed reference circle (MCCI), minimum zone reference circle (MZCI).
