Recently, L. R. Rubin, T. Watanabe and the author have introduced approximate inverse systems and approximate resolutions, a new tool designed to study topological spaces. These systems differ from the usual inverse systems in that the bonding maps $p_{aa'}$ are not subject to the commutativity requirement $p_{aa' p_{a'a''} = p_{aa''}, a ≤ a' ≤ a''$. Instead, the mappings $p_{aa'}p_{a'a''}$ and $p_{aa''}$ are allowed to differ in a way controlled by coverings $U_a$, called meshes, which are associated with the members $X_a$ of the system. The purpose of this paper is to consider a more general and much simpler notion of approximate system and approximate resolution, which does not require meshes. The main result is a construction which associates with any approximate resolution in the new sense an approximate resolution in the previous sense in such a way that previously obtained results remain valid in the present more general setting.

Presented paper discusses new approach to EES parameter determination in frontal car crash based on the tensor product of Legendre polynomials. In this paper Subcompact Car Class was analyzed using that method. Data that was used to perform analyses introduced in this paper was taken from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) database. Such database consists of considerate number of test cases along with various information including vehicle mass, crash velocity, chassis deformation etc. New approach to the problem of determining the EES parameter was necessary due to the low accuracy of the currently used methods. Linear models used up till now for accident reconstruction show significant error as the relationship between mass, velocity and deformation cannot be well approximated with a flat plane. Proposed model produces better results, because of the nonlinear dependence of said parameters. This paper also includes a calculation example presenting a comparison of linear and nonlinear method on an actual crash test.

Presented paper discusses a new, nonlinear approach to EES (Equivalent Energy Speed) parameter determination in frontal car collisions. This method is based on tensor product of Legendre polynomials and in this case considers Luxury car class. Methods that are used up till now are based on a linear dependency between mass, velocity and deformation. This is of course a simplification that was necessary, due to limitation in computation power of computers when this method was introduced decades ago. The contemporary resources allowed Authors to develop a much more sophisticated method. The mathematical model was developed using data shared by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This database covers a large number of test cases along with various information including vehicle mass, crash velocity, chassis deformation etc. New method proves to be more accurate than the currently used approach utilizing linear dependency of deformation force and deformation of the vehicle.

In the existing literature there are several constructions of the strong shape category of topological spaces. In the one due to Yu. T. Lisitsa and S. Mardešić [LM1-3] an essential role is played by coherent polyhedral (ANR) expansions of spaces. Such expansions always exist, because every space admits a polyhedral resolution, resolutions are strong expansions and strong expansions are always coherent. The purpose of this paper is to prove that conversely, every coherent polyhedral (ANR) expansion is a strong expansion. This result is obtained by showing that a mapping of a space into a system, which is coherently dominated by a strong expansion, is itself a strong expansion.

The concept of inverse systems for standard and positive linear systems is introduced. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of the positive inverse system for continuous-time and discrete-time linear systems are established. It is shown that: 1) The inverse system of continuous-time linear system is asymptotically stable if and only if the standard system is asymptotically stable. 2) The inverse system of discrete-time linear system is asymptotically stable if and only if the standard system is unstable. 3) The inverse system of continuous-time and discrete-time linear systems are reachable if and only if the standard systems are reachable. The considerations are illustrated by numerical examples.

Based on a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model and an inverse system method, this paper deals with the problem of actuator fault estimation for a class of nonlinear dynamic systems. Two different estimation strategies are developed. Firstly, T-S fuzzy models are used to describe nonlinear dynamic systems with an actuator fault. Then, a robust sliding mode observer is designed based on a T-S fuzzy model, and an inverse system method is used to estimate the actuator fault. Next, the second fault estimation strategy is developed. Compared with some existing techniques, such as adaptive and sliding mode methods, the one presented in this paper is easier to be implemented in practice. Finally, two numerical examples are given to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed techniques.

Opis:
The permanent magnet in-wheel motor (PMIWM) is a nonlinear, multivariable, strongly coupled and highly complex system. The key to the development and application of the PMIWM consists in the improvement of its control accuracy and dynamic performance. In order to effectively decouple the PMIWM, this paper presents a novel internal model control (IMC) approach based on the back-propagation neural network inverse (BPNNI) control method. First, theoretical analysis is conducted to show the existence of the PMIWM inverse system, to be modeled mathematically. The inverse system approximated and identified by the back-propagation neural network (BPNN) constitutes the back-propagation neural network inverse (BPNNI) system. Then, by cascading the BPNNI system on the left side of the original PMIWM system, a new decoupling, pseudo-linear system is established. Moreover, the 2-DOF internal model control (IMC) method is employed to design the extra closed-loop controller that further improves disturbance rejection and robustness of the whole system. Consequently, the proposed decoupling control approach incorporates the advantages of both the BPNNI and the IMC. Effectiveness of thus proposed control approach is verified by means of simulation and real-time hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) experiments.

The paper presents an inverse kinematic model for a centrifuge motion simulator used to verify newly defined absolute acceleration profiles. The modelling is concerned with a human training centrifuge with three degrees of freedom. The values of kinematic parameters have been obtained for this three-jointed manipulator. Validation of the developed model has been performed by comparing the results obtained from the centrifuge motion simulator with the results of numerical simulations. The simulation revealed that the inverse kinematic model enabled calculation of the angular displacement, velocity and acceleration of the links that are needed for the given linear acceleration of the simulator cabin.

The positivity and asymptotic stability of the descriptor linear continuous-time and discrete-time systems with regular pencils are addressed. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the positivity and asymptotic stability of the systems are established using the Drazin inverse matrix approach. Effectiveness of the conditions are demonstrated on numerical examples.

The paper deals with the inverse simulation problem of aircraft general motion. The aircraft is constrained to follow a specified 3D trajectory (two program constraints), and two other demands, are imposed on airframe attitude with respect to the trajectory and on flying speed. The guidelines for effective modelling of aircraft prescribed trajectory flight are discussed, and a method for computing time histories of state variables and program control (that ensures the programmed motion realization) is developed. Some results of numerical simulations are reported.
Praca dotyczy zagadnienia symulacji odwrotnej ruchu samolotu. Żąda się, by samolot wykonywał lot po zadanej trajektorii przestrzennej (dwa więzy programowe) a dodatkowymi wymaganiami są narzucone zmiany konfiguracji płatowca względem trajektorii oraz prędkości lotu. Dyskutuje się sposób modelowania tak określonego ruchu programowego oraz przedstawia metodę wyznaczania przebiegów w czasie zmiennych stanu tego ruchu oraz wymaganego sterowania samolotem. Zamieszcza się wyniki symulacji numerycznych.

The paper presents an original method to identify polygonal boundary geometry in 2D boundary problems defined by Laplace's equation using a parametric integral equation system (PIES). In the PIES, the polygonal boundary shape is defined mathematically by means of parametric linear segments, with a small number of corner points being posed. Identification of the polygonal boundary is reduced to identification of the corner points. Finally, the solution of the problem is reduced to the solution of a non-linear system of algebraic equations. Coordinates of identified corner points are obtained after solving the system of equations.

The paper describes the hybrid computer system dedicated to identification of models of materials subjected to thermomechanical processing. The functionalities of the system consist of plastometric tests data processing and application of the inverse analysis. The latter functionality is realized unconventionally, instead of the finite element method the metamodel is implemented using artificial neural network. The metamodels, used for simulations of the plastometric tests, are imported to the proposed computer system as external plugins, what guarantees flexibility and possibility of further development. On the other hand, application of rich optimization libraries assures the best possible solution of the problem. Basic principles of the inverse analysis with metamodels and mentioned optimization procedures are described in the paper. Selected examples of identification of models for various metallic materials recapitulate the paper.
Artykuł przedstawia system komputerowy dedykowany identyfikacji modeli materiałów poddanych obróbce cieplnomechanicznej. Funkcjonalność systemu obejmuje przetwarzanie danych pomiarowych oraz analizę odwrotną. W przeciwieństwie do rozwiązań konwencjonalnych opartych o metodę elementów skończonych, podstawę rozwiązania stanowi metamodel do symulacji prób doświadczalnych wykonywanych dla identyfikacji modeli materiałów. Metamodele zrealizowane z użyciem sztucznych sieci neuronowych są importowane do systemu jako tzw. wtyczki, co zapewnia elastyczność i mozliwość rozwoju rozwiązania. Ponadto, wykorzystanie bogatych bibliotek metod optymalizacji zapewnia uzyskanie najlepszego z możliwych rozwiązań. Podstawowe zagadnienia analizy odwrotnej z użyciem metamodeli oraz wspomnianych metod optymalizacji opisane zostały w niniejszym artykule. Przedstawiona została również architektura stworzonego systemu komputerowego oraz przykłady jego wykorzystania do identyfikacji parametrów modeli wybranych materiałów metalicznych.

The identification of the proper parameters of material models plays a crucial role in the design of production technologies, especially in the case of modern materials with diversified properties under different boundary conditions. The procedure of identification is usually based on an optimization algorithm that uses sophisticated numerical simulations as a part of the goal function and compares the obtained results with experimental tests. Despite its reliability, such an approach is numerically inefficient. This paper presents the concept of how to replace the most numerically-demanding part of the identification procedure with metamodels, allowing us to maintain uniform result quality. The computer system, which allows us to manage input data, metamodels, and calculations, is proposed and described in detail in this paper. Finally, the proposed approach is validated on the basis of tests performed in the laboratory.
