Opis:

In this paper we address the problem of conducting negotiations via Web. We discuss the notion of negotiation support systems and electronic negotiation systems describing in details their functionalities. The discussion is framed by the three-phase negotiation process model, which distinguished different tasks and activities at each negotiation stage that requires different tools for their support or facilitation. We also show the examples of negotiation support systems considering both their advantages and disadvantages. We conclude with summary, in which we try to compare and evaluate the current software solutions.

Opis:

The study reviews Internet technologies that contribute to the formation of the professional image of the head of an educational institution, as well as pedagogical terms that ensure the effectiveness of this process. Based on the understanding of the essence and content of the professional image of the heads of educational institutions, the need for updating approaches and tools to ensure the effectiveness of its formation has been highlighted with the use of the most modern Internet technologies. It has been defined that the leading strategy to shape the professional image is online branding. The digital tools and means for that so have been found and described. It has been emphasized on personal websites or portfolios, blogs, professional social media profiles, digital publications, online courses and workshops, engagement with online communities, multimedia content, feedback and reviews, collaboration with influencers, engagement with alumni online, use of latest educational technologies, digital newsletters, webinars and virtual tours, and active crisis management. It has been shown that the application of such promotion channels extends the interested audience and contributes to the formation of a positive image of the head of the educational institution. The pedagogical terms for the formation of the professional image of the head of an educational institution have been highlighted. Among them the purposeful development of media literacy and digital competence of heads, blogging, personal branding, working up the visual branding, engagement, transparency of the activity of an educational institution and its head, implementation of crisis management, compliance of digital etiquette, constantly professional development, regular update of content and develop digital skills, presence and participation, as well as feedback and iteration in online networking. It has been concluded that while the internet offers tools and platforms to shape the image of educational leaders, it is the manager’s authenticity, vision, and dedication that really resonate with the surroundings. Digital platforms merely amplify and disseminate the intrinsic values and leadership qualities of the head of an educational institution.

W artykule poruszono kwestię transformacji modelu ekonomicznego w kierunku gospodarki okrężnej. Transformacja ta staje się koniecznością ze względu na ograniczenia ze strony środowiska naturalnego. Rozpatrywana problematyka skupia się wokół potencjału technologii internetowych. Podjęto próbę wykazania, że technologie internetowe mają potencjał wspierający zachowania konsumenckie spójne z zasadami gospodarki okrężnej. Zawarto również analizę potencjalnych barier technicznych, społecznych i ekonomicznych, ważnych dla powszechnego wykorzystania technologii internetowych w tym celu. Jako metod badawczych użyto analizy literatury przedmiotu oraz analizy krytycznej. Artykuł wieńczy konkluzja, że mimo wielu występujących barier potencjał technologii internetowych dla wsparcia realizacji gospodarki okrężnej jest bardzo obiecujący.

Opis:

This article touches upon the issue of the interaction between the specificity of the e-commerce industry and the principles of the circular economy. The circular economy is currently the preferred economic model in the European Union, which covers all market participants, i.e. producers, distributors and consumers. At the same time, a strong increase in the popularity of e-commerce platforms has been recorded among consumers. This situation warrants taking up an analysis of the contact points between the circular economy and e-commerce concepts. The purpose of the article was to analyse the opportunities and threats related to the functioning of e-commerce platforms in the conditions of transformation towards a green economic order and circular economy. A desk study was applied as research methods with the use of literature on the subject and SWOT analysis. The result of the analyses is a systematized form of opportunities and threats related to the functioning of e-commerce platforms in a circular economy.
Artykuł porusza kwestię interakcji między specyfiką branży e-commerce a zasadami gospodarki okrężnej. Gospodarka okrężna jest obecnie preferowanym w Unii Europejskiej modelem ekonomicznym obejmującym wszystkich uczestników rynku: producentów, dystrybutorów i konsumentów. Jednocześnie odnotowywany jest silny wzrost popularności platform e-commerce wśród konsumentów. Sytuacja ta uzasadnia podjęcie analizy na temat punktów stycznych koncepcji gospodarki okrężnej i handlu elektronicznego. Celem artykułu jest analiza szans i zagrożeń związanych z funkcjonowaniem platform e-commerce w warunkach transformacji w kierunku „zielonego” ładu gospodarczego i gospodarki okrężnej. Jako metody badawcze zostały użyte desk study z wykorzystaniem literatury przedmiotu i analiza SWOT. Wynikiem analiz jest usystematyzowana postać szans i zagrożeń związanych z funkcjonowaniem platform e-commerce w warunkach gospodarki okrężnej.

Opis:

The article describes the phenomenon of the electronic encyclopedia activity and investigates the electronic Internet encyclopedias created by the institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. It has been discovered that electronic encyclopedias can be divided into several varieties, the main of which is online encyclopedias, which are highly distinguished in comparison with classical printed publications by the characteristics caused by the development of information technology. In accordance with this division, the national academic encyclopedic resources are characterized in the article. The idea of the importance of creating an online encyclopedia about the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is presented; it also argued that current online encyclopedias are not fully equipped with a wide range of technological opportunities for their use.
У статті схарактеризовано явище електронної енциклопедистики й досліджено електронні енциклопедії, створені установами Національної академії наук України, що функціонують в інтернет-середовищі. Виявлено, що електронні енциклопедії можна поділити на кілька різновидів, основний із яких – онлайн-енциклопедії, що найбільшою мірою вирізняються на тлі класичних друкованих видань характеристиками, спричиненими розвитком інформаційних технологій. Відповідно до цього поділу окреслено вітчизняні академічні енциклопедичні ресурси. Висунуто ідею щодо актуальності створення онлайн-енциклопедії про Національну академію наук України, а також констатовано, що наявні онлайненциклопедії не забезпечені повною мірою великим спектром технологічних можливостей їх використання.

Today’s children, so-called Digital Natives (digital natives), in contrast to their parents and teachers, who are called Digital Immigrants (digital immigrants), live in the world of media. Their childhood is strongly related to the TV. Afterwards they enter the world of the Internet, computer games, mobile phones. The tools that are in use are in their major part shaped by a man so the involvement of the younger generation in the world of the media has significant impact on the process of education. The article discusses the impact of the media on the formation of two types of intelligence — the cognitive and the emotional ones, that are most strongly associated with education. These effects have both the cultural and the neuronal level. The paper presents the process of education in the world dominated by media as a situation that educators are supposed to deal with, and takes into account the need to implement education for rational and responsible use of the media.

The domination of new technologies in the lives of children and the youth leads to its consideration in the context of threats and a potential negative influence on adolescents’ functioning. Considering various threats occurring in the virtual space, first of all it is indicated that the Internet, due to apparent anonymity, is often the space of mutual aggression, mocking and attempts to discredit other net users. The presented study refers to the analysis of behaviours being a demonstration of cyberbullying. The research was conducted in conformity with the quantity-quality paradigm. It involved a method of diagnostic survey using the technique of a questionnaire and documents analysis. As the conducted study showed, cyberbullying is a phenomenon which often occurs among contemporary teenagers. The examined persons were most often victims or witnesses of verbal aggression in the net.

Opis:

Celem przeprowadzonych badań było określenie poziomu wykorzystania i przydatności internetu na studiach inżynierskich. Badania ankietowe przeprowadzono w latach 2009-2012 na grupie studentów z dwóch uczelni. Każdorazowo ankietowano od 287 do 397 osób. W 2009 roku ponad 89% badanych miało internet a w roku 2012 już 96%. Najczęściej internet w procesie studiowania wykorzystywany był do pozyskiwania informacji organizacyjnych a także tych związanych z realizacją projektów, analiz i prac dyplomowych.
The aim of the study was to estimate the level of usability of internet by students from engineering courses. The investigation were provided in the years 2010-2012 on the groups of students basic on the questionnaires. Analysis showed that share of students which use internet grew up to about 90%. There are some limitation of internet using like low level of computer knowledge, lack of internet access points or personal abilities.

The identity is one of the key issues of modern society and when we take into account the influence of media and information technologies on the livelihoods of individuals then it becomes clear how fast identities have been changing and how qualitative transformations they suffered. In the post modern times computers present an unavoidable decor of present but simultaneously they entice with their utilities all users of this scientific and technical paradigm. Social identity is not what it used to be and its relatively loose structure comprises a sequence of even non consistent characteristics of the structure of identity that have not even been imaginable, until recently, in a such configuration they exist today. New technologies and the way people spend their time at work or their free time determine the development and establishing of the identity structure whilst new specific identities have appeared due to free access to information with the whole latitude of using new media. This phenomenon often reflects on what we refer to as generation gap and additionally on everything that democratic and neo-liberal environment supports in terms of certain behavioral patterns acceptance. Computers, mobile phones of new generation and the Internet, as the totality of informational domain, have offered the post-structural multiversity pandemic of a new world that changed in as much it conceived the pluralism of identities and brand new assemblies of values and attitudes. The onset of a new world was possible due to the concept of a new human that appeared, who has a general common denominator in information technologies.

Nowadays, the Internet has become one of the fundamental elements of functioning in society, also for pupils and students. Using the Internet requires specific skills related to obtaining and processing information. These are known as information literacy. They imply not only the ability to find the necessary information, but also to select reliable information that will meet the information needs of an individual. The article presents the results of research aimed at analyzing the process of using network information resources in the opinion of students. The results of the research made it possible to initially recognize and assess selected aspects of information competences in the studied group. Despite the perceived benefits and not imagining functioning without the Internet, the students showed a quite critical attitude in assessing the reliability of information obtained from the Internet.

SCIENTIFIC AIM: The aim of the article is to present the results of the author’s research on the addiction of primary school pupils to the Internet and their attitudes on this field and the level of understanding of the dangers resulting from spending time on-line.RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The main research problem of the publication is to determine the degree of a risk resulting from the use of new technologies by children. To present the results of the research mathematical analysis tools were used with an intention to show proportionally the population size and shares of the threat and the addiction of the topic.ARGUMENT’S COURSE: The argument is divided in two parts: the theoretical - based on the review of the subject literature on the field of addiction, and empirical - presenting the results of the research,   comparing attitudes and behaviors towards the Internet of pupils attending primary school in a countryside and in a city.RESULTS OF SCIENTIFIC ANALYSIS: Innovations like the Internet are developed all the time, just as all the devices through which it can be accessed. Laptops are of not gigabyte but terabyte disks now, overwhelming the capabilities of the average human brain. Obtaining information, tracking new products or learning about new technologies mean spending many hours in front of a computer. Children, being at the beginning of their intellectual development, constitute a group that is particularly vulnerable to the risk that might arise from surfing on-line. The results of the research indicate that they are somehow aware of the problem, however still there is a question if they are aware enough.CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS: The question arises whether the current educational system favors the conscious shaping of the skills of defining by children both the advantages and disadvantages associated with the use of new technologies and the Internet.

W artykule przedstawiono, w jaki sposób przebiegało kształtowanie się twórców internetowych, czyli osób zajmujących się wytwarzaniem autorskich treści zamieszczanych w mediach społecznościowych, na stronach internetowych itp. Rozpatrując uwarunkowania indywidualne i społeczne tego procesu, szczególną rolę przypisano kontekstowi technologiczno-medialnemu, znacząco wpływającemu na ich dorastanie oraz tworzenie. Jako ramę teoretyczną wykorzystano koncepcję sieciowych imigrantów/tubylców, a rozważania oparto na sześciu autobiograficznych wywiadach narracyjnych z twórcami internetowymi reprezentującymi zróżnicowane obszary zainteresowań. Ich analiza dowiodła, że doświadczenia z technologiami informacyjno-komunikacyjnymi „nie mieszczą się” w proponowanej typologii, gdyż narratorzy stosują zindywidualizowane strategie uczenia się ich oraz ich użytkowania.
The article presents how the formation of online creators, i.e. people engaged in the production of original content posted on social media, websites, podcasts, etc., took place. Considering the individual and social conditions of this process, a special role was assigned to the technological and media context, significantly influencing the narrators’ adolescence and creation. The concept of digital natives/digital immigrants was used as a theoretical framework. The considerations were based on six autobiographical narrative interviews with online creators representing diverse areas of interest. Their analysis proved that experiences with ICTs “do not fit” into the proposed typology; the narrators individualized strategies for learning them and their use.

They assume today that the access is one of measures of information society’s development to Internet. In 2007 of year Internet became the so popular medium like the television in Poland and he is developed still dynamically. Despite disproportion is existing in the area of the country. No they often, result failing the ability to use the network they always have the only economic character. The alignment of chances of this part of society which is living in the country is becoming one of the most important challenges of the present day in this connection.
Mając na uwadze rozwój społeczno-ekonomiczny obszarów wiejskich należy rozwijać działania w dziedzinie przyspieszenia procesu informacyjnej aktywizacji społeczności wiejskich. W Polsce obserwuje się duże zróżnicowanie w zakresie wyposażenia gospodarstw domowych w urządzenia umożliwiające dostępu do Internetu. Stopniowo rozszerza się obszar wykorzystania nowoczesnych technologii nie tylko w dużych miastach, ale także na obszarach wiejskich, w agrobiznesie, produkcji rolniczej i gospodarstwach rolniczych. Należy zatem podjąć budowę wiejskich centrów teleinformatycznych, których działalność informacyjne przyczyni się do pobudzenia przedsiębiorczości i rozwoju cywilizacyjnego środowisk lokalnych.

The article delineates the changes that have taken place as a result of the use of new media, especially the Internet, in the context of the development of information and communication technologies, and describes the differences between classical communication and web contacts. The most common types of Internet threats and the ambiguous influence of online contacts on the social life of an individual are discussed. It is emphasised that new media have numerous advantages, but they can also cause risky situations, and therefore it is necessary to provide education in this area, especially (but not only) to young generations. Further multifaceted research is also recommended to enable the diagnosis of the changing reality and develop solutions to problems related to the use of information and communication technologies.
W artykule omówiono przemiany, jakie się dokonały poprzez użytkowanie nowych mediów, zwłaszcza internetu, uwzględniając kontekst powstania i rozwoju technologii informacyjno-komunikacyjnych, przedstawiono też różnice pomiędzy klasyczną komunikacją a kontaktami internetowymi. Scharakteryzowano najczęstsze rodzaje zagrożeń internetowych i omówiono niejednoznaczny wpływ kontaktów sieciowych na człowieka i jego życie społeczne, w tym przede wszystkim więzi z innymi. Podkreślono, że nowe media mają wiele zalet, mogą jednak być również źródłem wielu ryzykownych sytuacji, dlatego konieczna jest edukacja w tym zakresie, obejmująca zwłaszcza (choć nie tylko) młode pokolenia. Wskazane są też dalsze wieloaspektowe badania, które umożliwiałyby diagnozę zmieniającej się rzeczywistości i służyły opracowywaniu rozwiązań problemów związanych z ryzykiem, jakie towarzyszy użytkowaniu technologii informacyjno-komunikacyjnych.

W świecie wirtualnym ludzie mogą kształtować swoją tożsamość w dowolny sposób, ale nie jest to coś pozbawione niebezpieczeństwa. W artykule skupiono się na obrazie siebie i tożsamości młodych ludzi w dobie współczesnych mediów, a także na trudnościach, jakie napotykają w procesie konstruowania tożsamości.

The study presents theoretical assumptions of the research in the scope of the impact of threats resulting from the use of modern information technologies on students’ education outcomes. Part I addresses the theoretical and methodological aspect of research conducted in 2019. It systematizes the considerations undertaken, their brief characteristics, and the course of research. The conclusions include ones drawn after the implementation of the initial stage and the theoretical part together with the adopted assumptions. Attention was drawn to the broad spectrum of the research area, which so far has not covered civilian students of a hierarchical university in terms of the negative impact of threats resulting from the use of modern information technologies.
W opracowaniu przedstawiono założenia teoretyczne badań w zakresie oddziaływania zagrożeń wynikających z stosowania nowoczesnych technologii informacyjnych na wyniki kształcenia studentów. Część I prezentuje aspekt teoretyczny oraz metodologiczny badań prowadzonych w 2019 roku. Dokonano usystematyzowania podjętych rozważań, ich krótkiej charakterystyki oraz przebiegu badań. We wnioskach ujęto konkluzje powstałe po realizacji etapu wstępnego oraz części teoretycznej wraz z przyjętymi założeniami. Zwrócono uwagę na szerokie spektrum obszaru badawczego, którym dotychczas nie byli objęci studenci cywilni zhierarchizowanej uczelni wyższej w aspekcie negatywnego wpływu zagrożeń wynikających z użytkowania nowoczesnych technologii informacyjnych.

The impact of new technologies on the work system is reflected not only in the process of perceiving an employee as a resource that requires improvement, but also on the whole process of human resources management. The modern employee increasingly often not only undertakes remote work, but in the process of its execution, strives to develop and expand skills and knowledge conducive to the performance of professional activities. The way it functions in the workspace changes, as well as the system managed by a modern employee. This article addresses issues related to the impact of technology on employee development in the aspect of the possibility of improving their competencies and skills, using information and communication technologies. The popularization of the trend towards the electronic system of human resources management in the enterprise will also be described in the context of improvement of employee’s professional activities.

W artykule przedstawiono ocenę zmian w wykorzystaniu komunikacji internetowej oraz związanych z tym faktem zagrożeń. Przeprowadzone w latach 2009/2010 i 2013/2014 badania wykazały, że respondenci wykorzystują internet oraz dostępne w nim usługi w życiu codziennym i wykorzystanie w tym okresie wzrosło. Stwierdzono, że można bardzo łatwo ulec uzależnieniu od sieci. Respondenci najczęściej wykorzystują internet jako narzędzie do przekazywania informacji oraz komunikacji. Badani rzadko zauważają negatywny wpływ sieci na zdrowie oraz osobowość.
The study presents the evaluation of changes in the use of Internet communication and the associated risks. The research in the years 2009/2010 and 2013/2014 has shown that the respondents use the Internet together with the available services in everyday life and level of usage is higher. It has been found that one can easily become addicted to the Internet. The respondents most often use the Internet as a tool for passing on information and communication. In addition, the respondents rarely notice the negative effects that the Internet can have on human health and personality.

Nowoczesne technologie są doskonałym czynnikiem ułatwiającym relacje międzyludzkie. Eliminują lub marginalizują znaczenie granic geograficznych, politycznych i kulturowych. Zadajmy więc sobie pytanie, czy technologia zbliżyła ludzi i sprawiła, że zachowanie ludzi stało się bardziej zrozumiałe? Czy społeczeństwo skorzystało na wiedzy, która znajduje się w zasięgu myszki komputerowej? Innymi słowy, czy większe obciążenie informacyjne spowodowało poprawę więzi społecznych? Paradoksalnie przeciążenie informacji prowadzi do poczucia straty, a możliwość zdobycia wielu przyjaciół skutkuje sztucznością ludzkich relacji. Czy zatem nowoczesna technologia pozbawia ludzi ich naturalnej zdolności do wiązania się ze sobą, czy jest jedynie etapem rozwoju stosunków społecznych? Czy ludzie w dzisiejszym świecie mogą stać się częścią społeczeństwa i pełnoprawnymi obywatelami bez nowoczesnej technologii?
Modern technologies are a great facilitator when it comes to interpersonal relations. They eliminate or marginalize the importance of geographic, political and cultural borders. Thus, let us ask ourselves a question whether technology has brought people closer together and have made people's behaviour more understandable? Has society benefited from the knowledge wicher is within a computer mouse's reach? In other words, has greater information load resulted in the improvement of social ties? Paradoxically, the overload of information leads to a feeling of loss, and the possibility to make a great number of friends results in the artificiality of human relations. Thus, does modern technology deprives people of their natural ability to bond with each other, or is it merely a phase in the development of social relations? Therefore, it is worth considering what is going to be the end result? Are people in today's world able to be a part of society and fully-fledged citizens without modern technology?

Opis:

The second part of the publication discusses the results of practical research on the impact of threats to the use of modern information technologies and independent Internet-based acquisition of knowledge on the results of students’ learning outcomes. It presents the course of empirical research with the methods and tools used. The summary presents the conclusions that arose during and after the research. Attention was drawn to the broad spectrum, which so far has not been covered by civilian students of the hierarchical university. The negative impact of threats on unaware users of modern information technologies is highlighted and described.
Druga część publikacji omawia wyniki badań praktycznych w zakresie oddziaływania zagrożeń stosowania nowoczesnych technologii informacyjnych oraz samodzielnego zdobywania wiedzy w oparciu o sieć Internet na wyniki kształcenia studentów. Zaprezentowano w nim przebieg badań empirycznych wraz zastosowanymi metodami oraz narzędziami. W podsumowaniu przedstawiono wnioski powstałe w tracie oraz po zakończeniu obszaru badawczego. Zwrócono uwagę na jego szerokie spektrum, którym dotychczas nie byli objęci studenci cywilni zhierarchizowanej uczelni wyższej. Podkreślono oraz opisano negatywny wpływ zagrożeń na nieświadomych użytkowników nowoczesnych technologii informacyjnych.

Logistics has a huge but largely untapped innovation potential. In an industry in which a key role is played by reliability, punctuality and efficient use of resources, innovation is becoming inevitable. A particularly important role is assigned to technological innovation. The purpose of this article is to present the leading innovative solutions in logistics, mainly in the area of information technologies with special emphasis on Internet of Things (IoT). Leading technological innovations will be discussed in the context of the major trends in the development of logistics. The impact of innovative technologies on the functioning of supply chains will be discussed as well as the main barriers and constraints in the implementation of these solutions in logistics.

Digital resolution is currently one of the most important forces determining changes and their dynamics in the social, cultural and economic dimension. Digital technologies such as the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence will, according to Gartner’s Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies 2017, play an increasingly important role while creating a new quality of the market space. Yet, these are multidimensional issues whose potential should be considered both, from the perspective of enterprises that create and/or adapt such technologies in their production, logistics or sale processes as well as in consumer perspective taking into account a degree of awareness, interest and fascination of potential buyers, users with such devices and solutions. This is determined by dualism of approach to digital technologies (economic approach vs. humanistic approach) and evaluation of their potential benefits and threats. It seems, however, that virtualization of consumer behaviour as a consequence of impact of technologies such as the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence, can at the same time be a significant driving force of further processes of digitalization, its dimensions and dynamics. The article attempts to identify the impact of digital technologies (IoT and AI) on attitudes, preferences and decisions of consumers and presented discussion was based on the results of own studies in the analysed area.
Rewolucja cyfrowa jest obecnie jedną z najważniejszych sił determinujących zmiany i ich dynamikę w wymiarze społecznym, kulturowym i ekonomicznym. Technologie cyfrowe, jak Internet of Things i Artificial Intelligence będą, zgodnie z Gartner’s Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies 2017, odgrywały w najbliższych latach znaczącą rolę, kreując nową jakościowo przestrzeń rynku. To jednak pojęcia wielowymiarowe, których potencjał należy rozpatrywać zarówno z punktu widzenia przedsiębiorstw kreujących i/lub adaptujących te technologie w swoich procesach produkcyjnych, logistycznych czy sprzedażowych, ale także w ujęciu konsumenckim, uwzględniając stopień świadomości, zainteresowania i fascynacji potencjalnych nabywców, użytkowników tego typu urządzeniami i rozwiązaniami. Determinuje to dualizm podejścia do technologii cyfrowych (ujęcie ekonomiczne versus ujęcie humanistyczne) i ocenę ich potencjalnych korzyści i zagrożeń. Wydaje się jednak, że wirtualizacja zachowań konsumentów, jako następstwo wpływu technologii takich jak: Internet of Things i Artificial Intelligence, może być jednocześnie znaczącą siłą sprawczą dalszych procesów cyfryzacji, jej kierunków i dynamiki. W artykule podjęto próbę zidentyfikowania wpływu technologii cyfrowych (IoT i AI) na postawy, preferencje i decyzje konsumentów, a prowadzone rozważania zostały poparte wynikami badań własnych w omawianym zakresie.

The introduction of the Internet of Things is necessary for the formation of progressive trajectories for the development of China's logistics companies.

Author analyses the use of new technologies by the pedagogy students from the generation of digital natives focusing on using the functions of mobile electronic devices and basic functions of Internet. Data has been collected with Google Forms. They allow to collect the data very quick, to see the responses immediately and to export the data to a spreadsheet. The aim of the study is to determine the level of student’s competence on the chosen field of information technology. Research shows that students have lower skills than they declare. Author advocates that this situation needs to be improved.

In the European Union, by 2025, it is planned to create a single European educational space. It means that knowledge of English is of vital importance for representatives of all professions and for teachers in particular. According to the research, teachers’ English language proficiency is on a rather low level. Digital technologies can help to improve the situation. Today, there are many opportunities on the Internet to learn a foreign language using Youtube, blogs, podcasts, where many content has already been generated. The Blended Learning Concept of Foreign Languages is being developed using the online platform “Lingva Skills” for language training specialists at universities. Thanks to digital technologies, knowledge and content become public, helping to align hierarchies previously based on knowledge and focus instead on skills and intelligence. For deep and comprehensive learning, it is worth using digital technologies that promote more intensive and better assimilation of foreign languages.

Information and communication technologies impact many aspects of the contemporary political life. A consequence of the use of ICT in politics is undoubtedly the evolution of democratic institutions and procedures. Modern technologies find their application as tools for exercising democratic power. This is why their importance is constantly increasing. The changes that follow application of ICT and their consequences are especially interesting subject to study and research. This article aims at answering the question how modern technologies (mainly the Internet) affect the processes of contemporary democracy and what might be the consequences of such changes. The deliberations shall concern the context of political market, where three processes between three main actors (politicians/political institutions, electorate, and the media) occur: informing, communicating, and voting. ICT influence these processes by quickening supplementing, and facilitating three various types of activities: sharing information, involvement in the political debate, and participation in the political decisionmaking processes. In the article, the author also pays attention to election silence as a phenomena functioning in the background of elections (which are a very significant element of the political market). Examples provided in the article come mainly from the practises and experiences of the Polish political life.

Celem artykułu jest przybliżenie problematyki prawnej wdrażania medycznego Internetu rzeczy w działania organizacji pozarządowych. Praca jest podzielona na trzy części. Pierwsza z nich, dotycząca pojęcia Internetu rzeczy i jego podtypu – medycznego Internetu rzeczy, ukazuje różnorodność tego zjawiska, szczególnie w formie wyrobów medycznych. Druga część pokazuje przykładowe zastosowania tych urządzeń w działaniach organizacji pozarządowych z użyciem istniejących technologii. Trzecia część odnosi się do prawnych aspektów tego zjawiska z perspektywy organizacji pozarządowej, zwłaszcza obowiązków wynikających z RODO i przepisów o cyberbezpieczeństwie, które należy uwzględnić, implementując nowe technologie do swoich działań.
The aim of this paper is to shed light on legal problems of implementing the Internet of Medical Things into activities of non-governmental organizations. The article consists of three parts. Part one addresses the notion of the Internet of Things and its subtype – Internet of Medical Things, describes the diversity of this phenomenon, in particular with regard to medical devices. Part two presents examples of applying such devices in the non-governmental organizations’ practice, with the use of existing technologies. Part three discusses legal aspects related to the Internet of Medical Things from the non-governmental organizations’ perspective, especially obligations resulting from GDPR and cybersecurity legislation, which should be taken into consideration while incorporating new technologies into NGO activities.

Aby wpływ wychowawczy internetu okazał się pozytywny, konieczne jest uwzględnienie w nauczaniu i wychowaniu rozwijania wiedzy i umiejętności metapoznawczych.
The paper discusses the impact of modern technologies, especially the internet, on the functioning of young people. The following thesis was formulated: usage of modern technologies have both a negative and positive influence on cognitive processes. The internet is taking educational functions, that were to date reserved to the family and school. It is a great challenge for the society and scientific reflection. For a positive educational influence of the internet to happen, it is necessary to take into account in teaching and educating the development of metacognitive knowledge and skills.

Tourism is an industry that is mostly based on the information that can be made possible through the assessment of the tourist product and the tourist service. During the past years we have seen important changes in the industry from the rapid growth of the use of new technologies on tourism, such as the Internet and social media, which have changed the way that the industry operates today. However, it is important to see into the future and identify what can be the next change in the tourist industry. By having examined the current literature, this paper had identified a future opportunity for the entrepreneurs in the tourist industry and this is from the use of robots for improving the service quality on tourism. The paper concludes that there is a need for future research on this field which can create new opportunities for entrepreneurs.
Turystyka jest branżą, która opiera się głównie na informacjach uzyskiwanych dzięki ocenie zarówno produktu, jak i usługi turystycznej. W ciągu ostatnich lat zaobserwowano istotne zmiany w tej gałęzi gospodarki, polegające na szybkim wzroście wykorzystania nowych technologii, takich jak Internet i media społecznościowe. Zmieniły one sposób funkcjonowania rynku usług turystycznych. Dlatego niezwykle istotne jest podjęcie próby prognozy dotyczącej zmian, które mogą pojawić się w branży turystycznej. Na podstawie literatury przedmiotu w artykule przedstawiono możliwości, jakie otwiera przed przedsiębiorstwami turystycznymi wykorzystanie robotów, które mogą się przyczynić do poprawy jakości usług świadczonych przez te przedsiębiorstwa. Stwierdzono, że istnieje potrzeba kontynuacji badań w tym zakresie, gdyż mogą one stworzyć nowe możliwości dla przedsiębiorców.

Opis:

According to the Lisbon Strategy adopted in 2000, the goal of the strategic development of the EU by 2010 was to make Europe the most competitive and innovative knowledge-based economy in the world. In the framework of the Lisbon Strategy and the eEurope initiative, there was taken a number of measures of a political nature, aimed at developing the information society through the use of technology in commerce, public administration, health, education and other areas of social life. New Europe Strategy 2020, adopted in 2010, envisages the achievement of economic growth which should be intelligent, sustainable and should support social inclusion following a period crisis of 2008–2010.
Zgodnie z przyjętą w 2000 r. Strategią Lizbońską celem strategicznym rozwoju UE do 2010 r. miało być uczynienie z Europy najbardziej konkurencyjnej i innowacyjnej, opartej na wiedzy gospodarki świata. W ramach Strategii Lizbońskiej i inicjatywy eEurope podjęto wiele działań o charakterze politycznym, które miały na celu rozwój społeczeństwa informacyjnego przez wykorzystanie technologii w handlu, administracji publicznej, służbie zdrowia, edukacji i innych dziedzinach życia społecznego. W 2010 r. przyjęto kolejny dokument – Strategię 2020, której celem stało się osiągnięcie wzrostu gospodarczego po okresie kryzysu globalnego z lat 2008–2010, który powinien być inteligentny, zrównoważony i sprzyjający włączeniu społecznemu.

Opis:

Konsolidacja Internetu będącego nie tylko medium, ale także wielofunkcyjną platformą, podważyła tradycyjne relacje między mediami a partycypacją polityczną. Najnowsze wydarzenia polityczne w Hiszpanii, takie jak ruch 15-M czy sukces partii Podemos pokazują, że nowe technologie zwiększają możliwości nowych i nowatorskich sposobów aktywności politycznej. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi diagnozę roli, jaką odgrywają nowe technologie komunikacyjne, w szczególności Internet, w działalności politycznej w Hiszpanii. Wyniki pokazują godne uwagi upowszechnienie Internetu jako źródła informacji politycznych, a także jako platformy partycypacji politycznej. Analiza sugeruje ponadto, że partycypacja w sieci jest zjawiskiem bardziej popularnym wśród młodych ludzi z wykształceniem wyższym i mających poglądy lewicowe. Profil ten jest zbliżony do charakterystyki obywateli, którzy wspierają nowe siły polityczne, takie jak Podemos i różne ruchy obywatelskie domagające się przebudowy systemu demokratycznego w Hiszpanii.
The consolidation of the Internet as not only a media outlet, but also a multifunctional platform, has put into question the traditional relationship between media and political participation. The latest political developments in Spain, such as the 15-M movement or the success of Podemos, show that new technologies increase the options for new and fresh ways of political activism. This study provides a diagnosis of the role played by new technologies of communication, particularly the Internet, in political activism in Spain. The results show a noteworthy dissemination of the Internet as a political information source, as well as a platform to participate in politics. In addition, the analysis suggests that online participation is a phenomenon more popular among young people, with high studies and located on the ideological left. This profile is similar to that of citizens who support the new political forces like Podemos and the different citizens’ movements which are demanding a reconfiguration of the democratic system in Spain.

Opis:

Technologie informacyjno-komunikacyjne są wszechobecne w życiu osób młodocianych już od najwcześniejszych lat ich życia. Głównym celem pracy było przedstawienie szans i zagrożeń, jakie niosą technologie informacyjno-komunikacyjne wykorzystywane przez młodzież, na podstawie analizy literatury przedmiotu i badań własnych autorki. Nie tylko same instrumenty ICT, lecz sposób ich wykorzystywania przez dzieci i młodzież decyduje o ich korzystnym lub niekorzystnym wpływie. Nowoczesne ICT to zagrożenia wynikające z niewłaściwego i dysfunkcyjnego sposobu korzystania z nich (m.in. problemowe korzystanie z Internetu, telefonu komórkowego, nadużywanie gier komputerowych), ale to także możliwości zastosowania i wykorzystywania ICT w edukacji, stwarzające szanse rozwoju wielu młodym i zdolnym osobom.
Information and communication technologies are omnipresent in adolescent persons’ lives from the earliest years. On the basis of an analysis of subject literature and author’s own research, the main objective of this study is the presentation of opportunities and threats which are brought by information and communication technologies used by adolescents. The modern information and communication technologies are the threats resulting from improper and dysfunctional making use of them (problematic Internet and mobile phone use and overuse of computer games), but simultaneously they give the opportunity to use ICT in education, creating favorable circumstances for many young people.

Opis:

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie szeroko zachodzących zmian w handlu elektronicznym związanych z implementacją technologii Internetu Rzeczy. W procesie realizacji badania przeprowadzono przegląd literatury przedmiotu w języku polskim i angielskim, wykorzystano także analizę danych statystycznych. Ponadto przeprowadzono badanie jakościowe, wykorzystując metodę indywidualnego wywiadu pogłębionego (IDI) z pracownikiem firmy Amazon. Artykuł definiuje istotę Internetu Rzeczy (IoT) i ukazuje potencjał tej technologii dla rozwoju e-commerce. IoT pozwala zbierać, gromadzić, przetwarzać, analizować dane i dzięki osiągniętym rezultatom umożliwia podejmowanie przez przedmioty, urządzenia autonomicznych decyzji. Możliwości IoT są wykorzystywane w różnych dziedzinach życia. Zauważa się liczne korzyści wykorzystywania nowych technologii, np. przyspieszenie produkcji, oszczędność energii, redukcja błędów w procesie magazynowania, usprawnienie dystrybucji towarów czy po prostu wygoda.
The aim of the article is to present the widespread changes in e-commerce due to the emergence of the Internet of Things technology. For the purposes of the research, a detailed review of the available literature on the subject in Polish and English was made, and the analysis of statistical data was also used. An interview was conducted with an Amazon employee who explained what the real effects of using new IoT solutions are. The article defines the essence of the Internet of Things and shows the positive impact of this concept on the development of e-commerce. Additionally, it demonstrates many positive aspects of Amazon's implementation of modern information and commu-nication technologies. IoT enables the collection, storage, processing and analysis of data and thanks to the results achieved, it enables objects and devices to make autonomous decisions. IoT capabilities are used in various areas of life. There are numerous benefits of using new technologies, such as accelerating production, saving energy, reducing errors in the warehousing process, improving the distribution of goods or simply convenience.

Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie aktywności seniorów w zakresie użyteczności nowych technologii, zwłaszcza internetu. Jego realizacji posłużyła kwerenda literatury przedmiotu oraz analiza danych empirycznych pozyskanych z badania własnego, przeprowadzonego wśród słuchaczy Uniwersytetu Trzeciego Wieku w Nowym Sączu w 2015 r. W rezultacie stwierdza się, że badani seniorzy aktywnie uczestniczą w życiu wirtualnym. W internecie najczęściej korzystają z poczty elektronicznej, a spośród zmiennych demograficzno-społecznych, to poziom wykształcenia różnicuje najwięcej form ich aktywności internetowych.
The purpose of this article is to present the activity of seniors related to the usability of new technologies, particularly the Internet. Literature review and the analysis of the empirical data obtained from the author’s research carried out amongst the students of the University of the Third Age in Nowy Sącz in 2015 helped to achieve it. As a result it should be stated that the seniors under study actively participate in the virtual existence. They mainly use the Internet to use the electronic mail, and amongst the demographic and social variables it is the level of education that differentiates most of their internet activity forms.

The premise for choice of the research problem is the impact of new technologies on directions in the discussion of copyright law. The goal is the integrated look at the regulation of the market of new technologies in the context of intellectual property rights. The method of research is the analysis of the law, case law and literature. It must be concluded that the economic analysis of intellectual property rights should take into account not only the interests of authors and publishers, but also the owners and users of online platforms. New technologies have an impact on the economic sense of copyright protection - it is appropriate to suggest a more flexible approach to systems of protection of these rights.

Opis:

The article intends to discuss the impact of the development of IT and logistics systems on the development of ICT networks in the context of practical application in the area of transport, especially in the area of railway transport in Poland. At present, PKP PLK is involved in the construction of a teletransmission network, to be used mainly with ERTMS. According to the author, development of the network should be planned in such a way that this network is able to satisfy the current and future needs of all railway companies in the area of data transmission, making it possible for such railway companies to extend their range of ICT services to include other forms of transport. Systems of railway traffic control should be established within a physically isolated fibre-optic network (isolated fi bres in fibre-optic cables).
